I have put my comment in title itself - Terribly disappointing.Picture comes very blurred despite good light condition.I would recommend others to spend few more bucks and get a better web cam.

I bought this cam for $43 looking at the good reviews, but completely disappointed with the quality. My brother got creative webcam pro for $15 the same time I got logitech quickcam. Both seems to have same picture quality. I feel I wasted money

Very easy to install (Should be up & running within 15-20 minutes). The webcam itself works great; excellent picture quality and its accompanying features (especially the face tracking aspect of it) make it well worth the price. Heads up: It gets Hot! If you've used it for more than 15-20 minutes, handle with care. No oven mitts necessary but it does get hot. Apart from that, the carrying case may be slightly small for the webcam (takes a minute to get it in there just right), but overall a good investment! Far better than other competing products in the market.

I have been very happy with this camera. In fact, I was so pleased with it, I bought a second one for my daughter in college, so we can keep in touch by video. She and I both have laptops, and I have Skyped with her while on the road, in my office, wherever. (I have never tried Yahoo or the other services - Skype has been so good I've never been tempted).I also use it with a colleague who works remotely. If you are a remote worker, and plan to use the camera a lot for professional meetings, you might want to step up to the next higher Logitech camera, which has some nice zoom and auto-pan features. My co-worker has that one and it makes the video much more engaging.This camera, however, has been perfect for my needs. Thumbs up!

Easy to use, the low light filter is amazing! I can use it with just the light of my laptop. Focus ring really enables a clear broadcast. Only thing is there is no side-to-side adjustment, but its not a big deal since you sit in front of your laptop anyway. Highly recommend this product.

Trust me buddy....after seeing different brands of webcams I have come to this conclusion that Logitech is the best in the industry.... well I am not talking about the entry level webcams where it is difficult to compare as they all suck.This one is as good as it gets. Look around for a decent discounted price (after instant or mail-in-rebate) and grab yours. This is perfect for my laptop. It fits nicely, the picture quality is great both under natural and artificial lighting conditions. It has a lovely face-tracking feature that gets you out of those days of webcams where you had to sit stiff without any movement.The form factor is perfect - it is real tiny !! I don't understand why a lot of people complain about fitting problems. The fitting clamp is stretchable and expands upto one inch and that should be more than enough unless you are trying to set the cam on a desktop monitor !!!Get one with your eyes closed !

I was really surprised to see that this only had 3 stars. I was just bragging to a co-worker about it and wanted to send her the link. My husband gave this to me for when I travel and would like to say good night to my 3 yr old daughter. I hesitated at installing. I am not a total tech novice, but not close to a techie. So I was a bit scared! It was SUCH a breeze - I felt awful that I waited a month to install!! I have used it on numerous business trips and can see my daughter SO clearly. It is makes trips a LOT less painful!! And it is small enough that I just keep it in my laptop case at all times. I don't even realize it is there and it is always available there for trips! I love it. Only thing that I would improve is the tilt - but I just prop it on something and it is fine!! Thanks, Logitech for making business trips a bit more palatable.

It's Logitech...it should have a built in Microphone. instead there's a small head set. don't buy this. spend a little more for a built in microphone.

This is my first webcam so I can't compare it to previous models as other reviewers did below. I've had no problems with the web cam using MSN messenger. The sound and picture quality is great. If I move around quickly, the picture will blur but I think that's pretty standard given the level of this cam. The clip on works nicely and fits onto my laptop securely. The camera does get hot but as far as I can tell it has no effect on the camera's performance. I've heard you need a USB 2 port in order to make the camera work properly which MAY explain some of the problems other reviewers found. Overall, I recommend the cam. After rebate, the cam was just over $50. For that price, the web cam has performed extremely well.

This is a excelent product the only problem is that it doesnt works with all laptops, I had a HP pavillion and the clip didnt held in the screen it makes the camera useless they should provide some type of stand or base so if it doesnt attach to the screen you can still use it !!!If your laptop screen is compatible your lucky you have a very good product. It's very cheap the image is very good the snapshop function is awesome to take pictures to put in your msn messager !!The focus control is very good too !! I liked the camera a lot !!!Just try to see if it holds in your screen, till logitech start saying which laptops are compatible with the camera... My only hint is that if the edge of your screen is retangular it will hold most likely, My DELL is not completely retangular edge but it still holds perfectly !!BE AWARE WITH COMPATIBILITY !!!

3 days of tempermental tinkering with it to get it to work and I build computers for fun so I know it is not me being an idiot. Include that the software is a huge memeory hog that can only be uninstalled if you want it turned off. Then the Logitech Webcam software wants to nag you to update when the software is using versions of all the Instant Messengering services that has been update several times since their versions yet Logitech's site says I have the most reccent version of the software (mine is from 2003). Apparently Logitech has missed the advancements made recently.To cap the whole experience off badly the web help is simply a reprint of the exact instructions included in the box. Isn't that a online manual not help?Don't be a cheap-ass and buy this price leader. Cough up anything needed to get any web cam but this one. Web cams are not like mice where one is just about like the rest.As for actual performance when and if the thing will work for you check the focal distance carefully. I recently noticed that no matter what I do my face at six feet away is never quite as crisp looking as the house across the street in the background behind me. Should a web cam be more focused on the distant than in close range.Logitech has dropped considerably in my opinion after this 3-day nightmare because I wanted to save $20!

If You own an IBM T - Series NoteBook ( or any IBM NoteBook with the raised Edge from the Flat surface of the LCD Screen ), you can ignore this product because of the clip which is used to attach this Cam to the top of your IBM NoteBook Screen.The Clip will slip on the outer surface of your Laptop Screen and you'll end up with a camera pointing downwards onto your keyboard everytime.The other person who gave the review above : " Calijoe " must be using one of the Compact and slim IBM 10 - 12 inch LCD Notebooks;or he must be working for Logitech and is pulling a fast one on all of us.Buy at your own peril.Get the Logitech Fusion instead, although it's not really too portable, if you are a Road Warrior.And like A. Vezirian "stisev" has mentioned, download the QuickCam Software from the Logitech WebSite instead of using the one on the CD.Hope this was useful.

I've had this cam for about 5 years now, and though I've finally decided to upgrade to the Pro (sticking with Logitech), the original Quickcam Messenger is a wonderful camera for the price. And, surprisingly enough, is still working as well as it did the day I bought it (and paid $70 for it), with the exception of the missing stand that was chewed up by my puppy.The image is a little grainy, and adjusting the colors can be a pain, but overall this is a good little cam. Takes fairly good stills, as long as it's set to 320x240. The image quality for 640x480 resolution shots isn't the best, but you kind of expect that with such an inexpensive camera.It's compatible with just about any computer, and almost all programs. I was even able to open it up in Photoshop and take stills when I had gotten a new computer and hadn't installed the QuickCam software yet. Also works great with Yahoo & MSN messengers.Overall a great affordable cam that will last for years to come. If you're looking for an inexpensive cam to conference with others, or even just indulge your narcissistic side with pictures of yourself, this is a good choice. I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

I had not expected such a bad quality camera from Logitech. Its picture quality is very poor, extremely grainy and dark. I was very dissapointed, my 6 year old webcam does a much better job. I will not recommend it for even the first timers.

guys think twice before u buy this. quality is good. but i had a IBM think pad and the mount does not fit. the mount design is so stupid tat it is not elastic enough. this camera mount fits only on compaq, sony vaio, dell laptops.I have to change my laptop to fit this camera. stupid camera mount

I've owned and used probably 4 or 5 webcams over the years, and this one has been one of the worst. I bought it at Wal-Mart, because it was so cheap ($29?), and felt like I had nothing to loose in trying it. Well, it performs like a $29 webcam. The picture is pretty bad except under full sunlight. And no amount of tweeking with software controls can make a lower-light picture look decent. Grainy, bad contrast, and color-shifted.

I am not satisfied with this product at all. If I would have seen reviews before I bought I would not buy this. Picture quality is very poor. I would not suggest this product to anyone even it is for free after mail rebate.

The webcam works like i needed it to. The image is good, it can be manually focused (a little hard to do due to its small size), it clips on well to the notebook. The only downsides i see with it are:* no ability to rotate, so we are elimited in our selection of what we broadcast (can't span the room without moving the computer)* great zooming-in capabilities but it would be nice if it could zoom out a little more. Since we sit at a set distance from the laptop to reach keyboard, and since it is attached to the laptop, the camera typically shows our face. Can't really zoom out to show more.Other than these, the camera works great, it is nice and compact, and easy to set up.

I have Windows 98 ME and I like mine. I like to buy and test various products and don't understand why others are having problems. Perhaps their PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for this product; and one shouldn't complain about all the software or the process one needs to go through to get started. I ran mine on Windows ME with an AMD Duron processor. You can't beat the price and a built in microphone. Bought a Powerbook with Tiger OS-X soon after purchase, and the camera, unfortunately, is not compatible. Apparently it works with some of the earlier Mac setups...I really liked how this camera was set-up with the 'now filming' indicator light, plus the face tracking feature was pretty cool as well; you could also adjust the camera settings to compensate for low light conditions.The only thing I didn't care for: the number of startup programs the software seemed to install on my system...I think it loaded up three and they ALL wanted to load immediately when Windows started up; slowed down my old PC quite a bit...There are probably ways around some of that stuff, but it was just one more reason for me to go buy a Macintosh and start to enjoy my computer and internet time again!
