Great Product, Microphone works fine. Design is cool and it can slide on the top frame of the laptop smooth as butter.Not a great deal of image quality under low light conditions. even during day light, you got to have a bright ligth source facing you, then things will be clear.

This webcam looks ok for the price, I got it for $9.95 after MIR. The image quality is good in the day light, however under lights you get to see lot of grains with sunset red color image. If you want to use webcam daily and more so to impress someone special, then don't buy. Otherwise as I said no complaints for the price paid. You get an earphone and a mic that is bonus

Read many reviews--always seems someone doesn't like something about a particular webcam--so to hell with it!--I went for the cheapest! Glad I did, this one works like a charm!

It works perfectly. Has a little bit of trouble with the light, and is very light so standing it up is difficult, but it works very well.

I have bought this webcam since last few months, it just works great. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good webcam which is not too expensive but also is very functional. Only thing is if you have like a lcd monitor its little difficult to rest it over the monitor and you got to keep changing its direction to face the cam.

This product was value for money, very easy to install and very comfortable while using it. When I am using for chatting or showing my kid to his grandparents on video, it's very easy to handle. No long wires and making the camera stand anymore...!! It has others features of zoom in/out, face centered, etc.

I can see why this webcam was Laptop Magazine's Editor's Choice for webcams. Great design, great features, and easy installation for new Dell Inspiron laptops (It fits PERFECTLY on the Dell Inspiron E1505). PIVOTING design (high/low)allows easy aiming of camera. Low light filter and color boost options make the webcam work in less than ideal light conditions. ADJUSTABLE mechanical focus lens, green "camera on" light and slick easy on/off mount makes it a snap to use at home or on the go. It even has a shutter button to take pictures. Great microphone sensitivity and good picture quality make for good video VOIP phone use. Good support software makes adjustments, picture and video taking a snap. It's also a terrific buy for ~$43. Now if only they made a desktop (CRT monitor) webcam this slick for this price...

I bougt this because I thought it'll be easy to carry in the included travel case and easy to clip on. I'm very satisfied with that aspect. Picture quality is pretty good, requires little bit of software tweaking for low light condition. Clips on laptop screen nicely wire stays behind the screen. I owned two intel webcams before and software never started unless I wanted to use intel software but with this one if the software is installed then it's automatically launched even if you use yahoo messanger for picture. I'm not too impressed with the software otherwise it's 5 star.

I just got my quickcam and it was very easy to setup. I had some trouble focussing though since it is manual focus and the ring was stuck. However, with some nudging it finally loosened up and now the picture is crystal clear. It is so small and just excellent. Great work, Logitech!

This web cam has very poor picture quality. Not at all useful for chatting over web. Specially at night or low light the picture quality is horribl.

Bought for my corp. Dell Latitude D610. I also use it with my Samsung LCD docking station monitor. Not all webcams have focus control. Focus ring is small, but does work. Spring loaded mounting clip expands to accomodate different screen flanges. If you're handy, you can foam tape a block of plastic, wood, etc. to any monitor or surface to use this on other than laptop screens. It's a better camera and mike than many of the other non laptop styles. Metal case rather than plastic. IMHO Logitech leads the market in webcam quality and value. My friend, VP Eng. at Toshiba, recommended it as he uses for his laptops. I have to agree. Only request to Logitech would be to include the "adapter block with foam tape mount" that I will have to create for mounting on other than laptop surfaces. As mentioned, only articulates forward and back, not left to right. But, I don't see that as necessary. Software is easy to install and offers straight Email video/audio AVI recordings. I looked at all the webcams on the Amazon list, and although I'm buying for my nephew's convention CRT monitor, I'm getting this camera over all the rest, including the conventional webcams for CRT's.

I ordered two of this webcam: one for myself and the other for my spouse for an easy way to say hi when we're apart.It has been a very nice little camera - it works well in low/moderate home light, especially if you activate the "light boost" option. The mike is OK, but I'll likely to get a headset at some point to cut down on reverb-y sounds.The unit is very compact, clips easily to the top of my laptop and also has a handy protective carrying case. It was easy to set up, with a disc that installs the program onto the computer.[...]

The installation and setup was very easy, just follow the instructions provided and youll be fine. I have a dell Inspiron 8200 running Windows XP with the latest service packs and patches instlaled. I usea an adaptec USB2 PCMCIA card since my laptop does not have USB2 built in. The performance and bit rate is not that great when connected to a USB1.1 port. The camera is really good in medium/Low light conditions and though I like the face tracking feature I tend to turn it off just so I can get a wide angled image. Also my laptop has a built in microphone and if the mic on the camera and my laptop are turned I get a feed back which results in a really shrill squeak, so I turn off the mic on my laptop and use the one on the camera which is really good. It is a good idea to go through the audio video tuning wizard on your chat/video conferencing program once you do this though, the mic on the camera is set at a higher than normal gain by default. Overall an excellent product that works great out of the box and even better with a little tweaking. Oh and the im age quality is also excellent.

the camera shows a dark picture, even with lots of light in the room, it's also a reddish color. i recommend you pay a little extra for better quality

This notebook cam is absolutely easy to setup and use. Does a great job for the price. It does have a little trouble ajusting to light change, but for the price I can't complain. The auto focus works great.

This a cool product from Logitech. I had bought the chordless mouse and some of the other products of logitech, But i would say this is the best. So compatible, cute, effecient working, etc, etc....

I got this for my son when he went to college. The webcam has excellent picture and sound quality. It is so small and compact and clips nicely to the notebook itself. Highly recommend!

Before purchasing the "QuickCam® Messenger 2-pack" I was using the more expensive "QuickCam® Pro 4000". Until my dog chewed the wire. Alone one of these web cams sells for 50 dollars, while the "QuickCam® Pro 4000" sell for twice that much, 100 dollars. The price reflects the quality. CONS Unlike the "QuickCam® Pro 4000" this is not USB 2.0 compatible. If your computer doesn't support USB 2.0 then this isn't a big deal. It doesn't have a shutter (lens cover) for privacy. Meaning if you didn't want someone watching you on it, you have to turn it away from you. This might not seem like such a hard thing, but once you've gotten used to using a lens cover, you'll see how unprofessional turning away is. Unlike the "QuickCam® Pro 4000" or other web cams, it doesn't have a swivel base. In fact the base comes unassembled and is composed of a large triangle shape of rubber. What's this mean? If you at all want to change the angle of the camera, you have to use both hands to (forcefully) rotate the plastic prong along the rubber slit. Even then it wasn't high enough to reach my face. I had to prop it up on a CD case for it to be the right height. Also unlike the "QuickCam® Pro 4000" it doesn't have an "on" or "off" light. You won't know when it's on or off. This meaning if for some reason someone gained access to your computer without you knowing (i.e. a hacker) they can watch you on your webcam without you knowing (lack of on or off light) and you can't cover the lens with a privacy cover. Lastly, the straw that breaks the camels back: picture quality. While the frame rate is adequate, the pictures are very "pixilated" and even grainy. Almost as if Logitech purposly added poor video quality as a feature. For those who are used to better quality web cams, this is a major disappointment. Also, after installing the software, I pressed the "take a picture" button on the top of the webcam only to have it instantly restart my computer. It seems if you at all try to take a picture with it outside its mandatory software (either physically pressing the picture button or clicking it on the Windows[R] webcam feature) it either restarts your computer or "glitches" up so horribly you're forced to restart. Not even logging out resets it. At least this is what happens to me. I use Windows XP Professional, and have tried several times even after reformatting my hard disk drive. But if you use the software to take pictures it does work. PROS It has a mike It works when in sync with the software Good for beginners Comes with two 50 dollar cameras for only 80 dollars (saves money) CONCLUSION All in all, I suggest you spend an extra 20 dollars and get fives times a better camera (in my opinion). Get the "QuickCam® Pro 4000" which comes with photograph-like quality picture, a lens cover, swivel turn, working "picture" button, on and off indicator light, and a mike. If you are strapped for cash and want to get you and a friend a web cam, go for it. Just expect less quality, and zero added features outside the mike. Happy Webcamming!

I think this camera was about as cheap as I could find. For my purposes (online spanish lessons), it does the job. The bottleneck is the internet connection, not the camera.

I have owned three other web cams. This is the best. It works first time, everytime.I call it "my little angel." I am ordering another for my daughter who lives 1000 miles away, So I can see her. Her webcam just doesn't hold a candle to this one.
