PRICE IS REASONABLE FOR A WEBCAM THAT PROVIDES 'JERKY' VIDEO DURING CALLS.I GUESS WHEN INTERNET TECHNOLOGY IMPROVES SO WILL THE IMAGE.I HAVE USED THIS CAMERA THREE TIMES FOR CHATS BECAUSE, IT WAS NOT "WOW"! (AND REALLY GETTING ON MY NERVES). THE CAMERA CLIP DOES NOT EFFECTIVELY GRIP THE TOP OF MY FUJITSU LAPTOP AND OFTEN REQUIRES ADJUSTMENTS TO STAY PUT...SO I USE THE STAND (PROVIDED) INSTEAD.

I was disappointed to see on the package description that it can be used with PC only but I found out that if you download "macam" from apple.com it works with MAC computers too.

Before picking up this one, I've tried Microsoft NX-6000 and Logitech Fusion to pare with my Dell M1210 w/o much success. In both mentioned cameras microphone didn't work with Vista Ultimate RTM installed in my notebook. With this one, the mic did work right away, but I needed to install the new driver from Logitech site (QuickCam v10.4.0 Build 1401) to get the picture. Both video and voice performed extremely well even in the very low light condition (dusk, after sunset in the room with no indoor light, just undraped window). All my peers mentioned very good picture quality. I am totally satisfied with the purchase and recommend this product to anyone looking for miniature 2-in-1 solution.

I purchased this camera to use when traveling. I also have and use a Logitech QuickCam 5000 Pro (see my review for that camera), so I take this camera (the Notebook Pro) with me on trips.It comes with a small, rigid case to protect it as well as a wired earpiece (headset with microphone). The camera works with the driver/software to automatically manage the image (color balancing and exposure) as well as the audio (eliminating most of the echo).I have used it with MS Communicator (the corporate version of MSN Messenger) as well as Skype. Works well with both; the image is clear and colorful and the audio is clear and clean. The clip it comes with to hold on to the screen is somewhat unstable to use with the IBM Thinkpads given that the screens on these notebooks have a wider edge. However, if you don't play around too much with the camera it holds on well.Overall, it is a pleasure to work with.

i have brought this Logitech webcam recently, at 1st, i was a little hesitating because of the price, but because i need one, so i bought it any way.I am very pleased with the quality (the image) of this webcam, especially when the light is not shinned right on my face (back-light), it adjusts the brightness automatically. i guess just like the old say "what you paid is what you get".

This cam has really good quality. It's little and compact, and of course you can put it on your notebook. I gave it four stars because I tried it on my brother's laptop, and it wouldn't get hooked on it. His screen was too thin.

I researched different webcam/videophone solutions in order to purchase a gift for my in-laws and my daughter to communicate long distance. I wanted the easiest solution for them since they are not computer literate. Cost wasn't the first factor but I didn't want to spend $500 on a crappy solution. I looked at a couple of videophones, they seemed to be easy but they were definatley more expensive, and the reviews they were getting were not good. So I decided to go with a webcam, they were cheaper and had better reviews.Since we both had laptops I chose the QuickCam. Let me start off by saying that it fit perfectly on both dell laptops. It was extremely easy to install on both laptops (running XP). I am not a manual reader so at first I was playing around with the software until I realized that the actual video conferencing software needed a subscription. So I decided to try a free messesnger webcam viewer. I tried Yahoo Messenger and found it to be very confusing. You had to broadcast, and sometimes you got super broadcast; and sometimes not even though I always have broadband.That experience prompted me to try the software that logitech offers. They offer a 30 day free trial; so I downloaded, installed and registered. It worked great, the picture is clear and there is very little delay. It is easy to use and fairly impressive software. It really enhanced the camera experience.The bottom line is that this camera is great for the price. If you want to fiddle around with 3rd party software (aol, yahoo, msn) the cost really great, but performance may take a hit. If your company owns professional software for video conferencing the cost is great. If you use logitechs videocall both parties need to use it and be subscribed with defferent accounts boosting the cost. BUT there is little delay, and it is easy to use.

I recommend this one. In some computers the webcam has installation problem so you cannot use the add on features.

Notebooks Pro is the highest rated webcam (for notebooks) on the market and for good reason. Audio and Video quality is excellent. You can talk normal and be 2 or 3 feet away with no problem. The echo cancellation feature is a true must for webcams, especially with the use of video. On the negative side the USB cable is too short which limits interchangeability with your desktop. Also, I have the Quickcam Fusion for my desktop which is a 5 star rated product and without doubt the best of the best webcams overall. Logitech ships that product with Quickcam 10 software which is probably a nice update to Quickcam 9 the Notebook Pro uses. Unfortunately, Logitech provides little detail and info on these technical and software issues. Bo

I bought this camera about 3 days ago.The picture quality during day time is quite good and clear.But during lighted conditions (night time) its not that good.And I'm a little disappointed since I mostly video chat at nights.:(Another drawback is that the stand is not the user friendly... in terms of that U need to keep it at higher level so as to show the picture correctly..All in all, a good product for the price.A budget buy.

I am very happy with my Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro. It is very durable, sleek, portable, and reliable. The software for it could be a little better (there is some junk ware that comes with it), but other than that, it has been a very good investment for me. The mic is awesome! I can talk comfortably 5 feet away without a headset, and it can still pick me up clearly. The low light conditioning feature works well also.I use MSN Messenger for my video chats, and have had no problem with compatibility or lockups.Since this is my first web camera, I read a TON of reviews on it to make sure it was going to work for what I needed, so I encourage you to do the same. However I am very pleased with this Logitech product. Good luck!

It's not differ feature to Deluxe version. But I must pay more 30 bucks for this. However, it is compact webcam and good quality. It's automatically dowload sofware in windows Vista when you phug in.

I have been using this webcam for almost a year now with YM, skype etc. I like this camera. The video quality is good and the camera is quite small and fits well on my laptop. It comes with a software which allows you to capture images at different resolutions and also capture videos.The built-in microphone works, but does not have any noise cancellation. So I do not use the mic in the cam for talking.You can adjust the focus manually, which is pretty easy to do and takes only seconds. The software also has a face tracking feature which tracks your motion pretty well.Overall I would say that it is a good buy. I had bought it from Amazon when there was deal for $20.

Almost all webcams out there have good image quality when there is lots of light. What separates the men from the boys in the webcams category is low light performance. Cheaper webcams will produce crappy images - with lots of noise and grain. I am very happy to report that this webcam, small though it is, renders excellent images in all light conditions. The built in mic is good quality too. Sound is clear and loud. I dont know why so many people had issues with the clip on this cam.. The clip is adjustable, so it can be pulled out to accomodate screens upto 3/4 inch thickness.. I dont think there are any laptop screens that thick anymore. I did not use the software that came with the cam. Just install the drivers and you are good to go. In summary, this one is a keeper. Recommended.

Excellent camera. Relative to a Labtec product, the resolution was far superior, the room-level light capability much better, and the focusing ring made acquiring sharp images much easier. I was particularly impressed by the close focusing capability. This inexpensive camera can produce close-up images that rival a far more expensive low-magnification scope plus video attachment. The driver was also faster than the Labtec's, allowing a useful boost in frame rate at lower resolutions. I think it's difficult to go wrong with this camera.

This camera is so easy to install and to use with a laptop. It rests on top of my Toshiba and my husbands Gateway. I only plug it in when I use it, so it is not on my computer at all times.The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it doesn't handle low lighting very well. Although, I have never used any other camera - so I'm not sure how they handle it.

I have had the camera in use for a few months and it has been great. The quality of the image is very good, it is highly portable (all components and headset fit into the little case it comes with) and even the free headset works well. My voice does not carry well over many headsets, but I am heard crystal clear over the headset included with this product. I use the camera mostly for web conferencing and have had no trouble installing and starting immediately. Very user friendly.

Extremely straightforward to install. Great quality from the camera, both for video and still photos (Auto light correction ("Rightlight") and face tracking works extremely well). Very compact and fits well on any laptop, couldn't be happier with the purchase. Though one small thing, you need to be pretty close to the camera for the laptop (i.e. not using an external keyboard) to get the best results out of it.Great value for the price.

very easy to install as you can select to either install Logitech software or just the drivers. I went by the second options as my wife and I keep linked by Skype whenever she's on a business trip. Even the video quality is not a wow I think it accomplish the purpose of "see" your other call party for what you pay.

I thought that the camera (while working) is really good. I was very impressed with the images and the way that it sat nicely on the top of my laptop. There's no need for a headset when talking to friends and family, as you can play their voice over the computer speakers and the built in microphone picks up your own voice effortlessly.However, it would not let me shut down my system without a blue screen of death, and would not start up again without unplugging the camera. I contacted Logitech and this is a known problem with no current solution. So, this camera may or may not work properly with your computer. You pays yer money, and yer takes yer chances.... If it does work, I can recommend it, but I am taking mine back to the shop.

I did not want to spend too much money on my first webcam as technology improves continuously and my needs/interests change rapidly.After much research I thought this webcam had the best price-quality balance. And I was right! It is small, easy to pack and the quality of picture is great. Much better than the expensive once friends & family have. I am very happy and pleased with it.The microphone works well and it has functioned on all programs and on all connections (messenger, aol, skype, pictures). I get great feedback from people who see me on the other side of the world. The cord is long so you can move it away from your computerscreen. The clip works well on my Toshiba.For this price, you cannot get a better webcam.

My brother and I have video chatted over the past few months, but his frame rates were very low and the video pixelated. He has a cable modem, so speed isn't an issue. So it was quite a shock when we video chatted yesterday evening...his video was not only clear, but streaming nicely with full motion and the built-in mic picked up his voice clearly. The performance was annoyingly close to my expensive camcorder doing double-duty as a webcam! He isn't using bleeding-edge equipment either: A Pentium III E-Machines, with USB 1.0 ports. If this camera can put some life back into that old goat, then this webcam is pretty darn good.

I just got this camera today and I love it! Its a grayish-silver in color and has a manual focus. The usb cable is long enough to hook up to my usb port which is towards the front on my laptop (I have an HP Pavilion DV8000). It works just as well as my standard size PC webcam, also a Logitech. Its face tracking and ability to adjust to light made me very impressed with it considering its size. And the fact that it comes with its own little pouch makes it more appealing to take it on trips. When I first pulled it out of the packaging, I though "Uh-oh, this isn't big enough to hook on my laptop monitor." But then I noticed that the notebook clip is expandible from the back and I got lucky cuz if my monitor was any bigger, I wouldn't have been able to clip it on. - So make sure you know your monitor's width before you buy it.The one other thing is that you have to be careful cuz there is no cover for the lens.
