I got this camera through a consumer reports website, it was one of their best picks. Fantastic image resolution!, I don't use it every day but so far it works great, although I had some problems between their software and the Windows Vista, I don't know which one is to blame. The camera it's a great product though.

I have never written a review of a product on Amazon. My wife's parents purchased this webcam (year 2007) so they could Skype with us. Those poor people were sold garbage by someone trying to get rid of old, useless junk by selling it to people that don't know any better. Thanks Logitech for selling crappy products in 2003 and thanks sellers for letting people buy crappy products 5 years after they are obsolete.Video: Grainy, always green.

This one is just not up to par. I have a Logitech camera with built-in mic that is in the $50 range, and got this for my office. The room-light picture is far less competent, and the camera ghosted pretty badly. I've traded it in for one with a better picture, and am much happier.I recommend, as temptimg as it is to save money, if you want to use a camera inside, for Sype-ing or something similar, that you got for a camera a bit more competent than this, even though it means spending a few more dollars.

This is easy to install, no issues with installing to Windows XP (SP2), looks good and not that expensive. From what I have read, works easily with all instant messaging tools, I have sued with Windows Messenger and Skype. The clip for laptop is a strong one. Strongly recommend getting this one.

I got it to work on XP, but never in VISTA. It always tells me that I need a new driver despite just loading it. It seems like it doesn't see it. So, the bottom line is drivers can not be loaded. Cold Eyes

The webcam was delivered with it's programing on a generic disc. (no company logo, ser. # etc...). The programing on the disc would not load properly and I was forced to go to Logitechch's website and download software that worked. When using the cam with Microsoft's Live Messenger both my system and the other ends computer crashed. This did not result in any major damage and was probably caused by the Microsoft program but I mention it because Microsoft's Live Messenger is a popular program and folks should know that Logitech's webcam software and Microsoft's Live Messenger are evidently not compatible. Overall,I'm disappointed with this product.

This camera has a very bad picture, no matter how you adjust it, the picture is not clear. Ended up purchasing another Logitech quickcam that was more expensive, much better quality.

The quality of the webcam is great, but it is not made for all laptops. I have a Dell Inspiron 1150. My Laptop is too thick to clamp the webcam onto. This was a gift given to me from a friend who is serving our country overseas. I greatly appreciate the gift. I have to try to figure out how to clamp the cam onto my computer inorder to use it, so I can communicate with him. It works great for him and this is why he bought this one for me.

I use MSN everyday to video chat and thought that I should buy a decently priced web cam. Well, it turns out that my girlfriends $15 web cam does a better job then this one. I had to disable all of the automatic settings and manually configure it all myself to get a decent picture out of it. It overexposes everything!!!

I ordered this camera for my girlfriend. It installed easy enough but we could never get it to work with iChat, which was the messenger that I was using.It was not as simple as install and use.

I bought this for my daughter who has a laptop with Windows Vista as the operating software. According to the page online this webcam is compatible with WIndows Vista, but when we got the product it said it was only for WIndows Xp, and not for Windows Vista. It was quite upseting for the whole family. My daughter was looking forward to webcamming with her big sister who lives in the United States. Because we are posted overseas it takes a long time for things to ship here, so we could not get a quick replacement. Our oldest daughter was unable to spend Christmas with us this year and everyone was looking forward to webcamming with her.

I bought this Cam after installing an extensive videoconferencing suite in work so that I would link in via an IP link. From my home PC I loaded up the disk, plugged in the camera and was away. One of the easiest pieces of equipment to use. The software bundle gives you all the links to the main providers and so you can be yahooing or skypeing in minutes.The quality of the cam is obviously not the same as cams with an extra zero on the end but it is great for home use and gives you free video connectivity.Ease of use/installation 10/10, Value for money 10/10, Lens quality 7/10.It says Vista compliant on the box, but you will need to download a patch before plugging in the camera (I used it on XP).None of the main providers provide IP connection software, but it can be found on the net with a simple search.

This product is not worth the money. There is no internal microphone on it, which should be mentioned in the product description and isn't. It comes with a cheap ear piece and mic. Very disappointed

We have used this and the imges are very good. It worked immediatly and well with Skype. This is a very nice addition to the voice ability on skype. We are looking forward to continue using this to communicate with family.

The pixel quality for this quickcam is terrible. I wanted to update my old webcam that I've had for 7 years, but when I tried the Quickcam Chat for Skype I realized it was even worse in quality and the motion sensor is very slow. I would not suggest you buying this webcam for anything. I have a very fast and nice computer, so I know it was not an issue with my computer.

Works good! Small size makes it easy to take it with you when traveling!The only negative -at least using it with small Dell notebook - seems to be the clip that does not secure camera to the edge of notebook very well!

Logitech 961400-0403 Quickcam has high quality for normal dynamic image catch in MSN or SKYPE. I think the quality matches his price. For less budget guys, it's a notbad choice.

I already have 2 webcam of Logitech....i bot this one for my friend.....have used this product for past couple of months.....its really great......good deal, reasonable price........branded company....you cant expect much for this price......if u r not brand oriented then u cud look out for something else....but brand n reasonable price compared to others....this is the deal u shud be looking for.....

This is a very nice little package - and the emphasis is on "little". About 3/4ths of an inch wide, maybe a half inch thick (exclusive of the clip) and two inches long. The clip is simpler than Logitech's previous laptop camera designs, but may still be a problem for some. It has a round moulding on one side that may cause it to slide out of position on some laptops. Not a major problem, but could be an occasional annoyance. As with all Logitech devices, do not use the drivers on the supplied CD. Logitech drivers change often and you'll always want to use the most recent version from their web site. Image quality is excellent for a webcam. Low-light images are okay, though somewhat noisy (grainy). The lens is wide angle and you may actually find yourself applying a bit of digital zoom to enchance the image size of single figure. Diminishes image quality a bit, but better than being a seemingly tiny part of the view. The webcam's internal microphone is excellent and Logitech's echo cancellation technology is truly cool. A small earphone and microphone are supplied with the package. A very nice carrying case will hold both the webcam and the headphone/microphone. The unit works well with all the major IM and VoIP services. All in all, a very nice package. The camera does tend to get hot, but this shouldn't be a problem. A nice item for anyone who travels, even if it's only to the local library with a WiFi connection or internet cafe. For long distance travel, it's wonderful: a tiny little package that delivers great results.Jerry

I had one of these previously, and bought a second one to give to my daughter so we could keep in visual conduct while I am in Iraq. It has great light response, excellent picture quality and a good built in microphone. The clamping feature works better with laptops that any of the numerous webcams I've ever owned (including my current one). I have since given mine as a gift to a soldier and purchased an updated Logitech model, but I have never been disappointed with any of Logitech's webcams. Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed.

It's pretty good quality. Easy to set up and use, but you get what you pay for. The video quality is pretty good and it adjusts to my indoor lighting pretty well. Sometimes I have to shine some light on myself, but usually it's no different than when I'm doing homework. I don't really use the microphone because I already have one that is probably better. Hoever, I do have one issue. The focus on the camera is manual so you have to adjust it yourself. It's fine when you're just going to talk at the desk and usually just sit there, but if you want to move around and show things, it'll be a major pain, but I guess it's good for what you pay for.Sometimes the light indicating that it is on will stay on all the time, but that's usually on start up. Once you open a program that would use the video like skype, it will turn off after you're done. All in all, good value and does just fine for video chatting, easy to clip onto the laptop, even if it isn't the most secure, but it's not like I move the laptop around everywhere while I'm talking.

This is a perfectly serviceable camera, comes with a great case, good portable camera to take with if you use a computer lab or the like. The only drawback is the system bogging, reminder laden software required to use the camera. Otherwise, it is a great unit, slightly over priced, which makes it a four star review.
