I got this thing and didn't expect much for the price. Wow, am I pleasantly surprised. The sound is just as good as my friend's Bose system of the same style. It is well worth the money and I am considering getting another for my office. If you are looking for a system like this for purposes that this is designed for...you can't go wrong.

This system has a great sound. I've been quite pleased with it overall. My only complaint is that when you first turn it on it is always at maximum volume. That could be a little dangerous, depending on what song your iPod is on at that moment.

I bought this for work. I'm a Dementia nurse and music is the best "drug" for my patients. The sound from this machine is exceptional. I have my Bose dock at home and I'm not sure which one I prefer.Just the other day a very confused resident ..... stopped for a moment ..... looked up and said, "Oh my that's beautiful music." Well worth the money.

I'm giving this product five stars despite some mild disappointment on my part. Probably like a lot of folks I have been frustrated at not being able to play my iPod over anything other than my earphones. So I got this so that I could listen to music without using my noise isolating earphones. For one thing, I wanted to be able to hear phone calls or hear the door bell ring.The only problem with this unit is probably my expectations. I was hoping for a unit that would sound nearly as good over the small speakers as it does over my earphones. It doesn't. But that really says more about what I was hoping for rather than what was reasonable. The fact is that the iGroove provides great sound at a relatively small price. Does it rival the sound of a speaker system with a subwoofer? Absolutely not. But for its size it provides quite a wallop.On the upside this is a very attractive unit and takes up very, very little space on my desk. And it is incredibly easy to use. I come home, take off my earphones, pop my iPod into my iGroove, and go about my business.My one real complaint is with the remote. The remote is, to be honest, almost useless. The only real use would be if you were sitting a few feet away and wanted to make minimal adjustments. But you can't use it to choose what you listen to apart from skipping to the next song or scooting back to the previous. In fact, I find that I use the iPod wheel instead of the remote.I definitely recommend this for anyone who wants an easy and convenient way to listen to their iPod over speakers.

For costing 1/3 of the Bose, you can't go wrong with the iGroove. Pretty decent sound that fills a medium size room. Liked it so much, we bought a second one.

sounds good, price was good, looks good. the only thing is the remote is tempermental...you basically have to be right on top of the player to find the sweet spot- kind of pointless function for a remote.

Although I was really impressed with the sound quality I was forced to return the product as it IS NOT compatible with the new I pod Nano's (4G). It will play music but will not charge your ipod as evidenced by a message promptly displayed on your ipod screen once connected to the station. A down side of technology I guess as I have yet to find a comparible machine when it comes to quality of sound.

I purchased this unit via a 3rd party amazon dealer, The unit looks great and sounds excellent, no complaints over the sound quality. My only grievance is that the remote is practically useless, I have to stand directly in front of the unit and hold it around 15 cms from the face plate for it to recognize anything. The damn thing just does not work across the room. Also the unit does not come with a battery backup, you will need to lug around the the thick power brick anywhere you take it. I bought this as a present for my wife who was hoping to use it in the bath but the cumbersome power brick made this impossible. I did not return the unit as I fell in love with the deep rich sound, i now have it plugged in my kitchen.

We love the sound and clarity of the Klipsch iGroove. We looked at the iHome which has more features like a clock etc but if you want a serious player and are looking for sound quality ...the iGroove STX is it!

The internal balance of Bass and Treble meets my needs. My IPOD Touch slips right in and doesn't jiggle. The ease and quality were a great match for my desire to port one system about the office, back porch and into my room when travelling.

Caution, not all Apple devices are supported. It does not work with the iPhone 3G.Other than that, the sound is wonderful.I'm returning it and buying the Amazon Editor's Choice, Altec Lansing T612 Digital Speaker for iPod and iPhone.

I did a lot of research before creating my Christmas list for my wife last year. I couldn't see asking her to plunk down all the cash for a Bose system, and I was really swayed by the customer reviews for this Klipsch system (check out all the people who say it sounds better than Bose). She bought it for me, and it is phenomenal! Very clean sound, projects fantastically through a room and even outdoors, easy to move from room to room -- and did I mention that the sound is phenomenal? At the time, I think she paid around 150 for it, but I see the price has come down again. It was a steal at the price we paid, but now, I'm considering buying another, just because I love it so much! Not only does it sound better than anything I've ever owned of similar size, I think it has better sound than anything I've ever owned, period. If you're an amateur audiophile on a budget, you can't do any better than this system.

The Klipsch All-in-One comes thru on the promise of the add. No issues - great sound - simple - quite nice.Remember - it does not include a battery option, so no operation without an electrical plug. If you are looking for a mobile option - look elsewhere.

I originally started searching for an iPod alarm clock. My wife and son already have an iHome, and I considered one for myself, but I was never impressed with the sound quality, so I decided to do a little research. After some simple web searches, I found a couple iPod alarm clocks that were rated better than the iHome, at similar prices. One of the items that came up in my search was the Klipsch iGroove SXT. It doesn't have an alarm clock, but it has instant-on capability with the alarm clock feature of every iPod. After thinking about this, it made so much more sense for me. First, there are already 2 digital clocks in our bedroom: my wife's aforementined iHome, and one on our cable TV box. The latter is easily seen from our bed. It just didn't make sense to have yet another clock eating up electricity in the room. Second, I already own Klipsch speakers, and *love* their sound. So I went to BestBuy to check it out. Well it didn't take long to convince me this was the way to go. The sound is rich and bright, just as I like it, and as I expected from Klipsch. I paid $170 for it right then and there. I could probably have save a few $$$ had I shopped around, but I didn't bother. I use this unit primarily as an alarm clock with my iPod, and it suits that function beautifully. However, when needed, this unit can rock our bedroom with the sound quality one would expect from Klipsch. Lastly, the footprint of this unit is quite small: a little wider than an iHome, but not as deep. The black finish looks very compact and elegant on my nightstand. I am extremely impressed and happy with this unit, and would recommend it to anyone shopping for similar units.

I agree with the majority of the reviewers here that the value of this unit versus Bose is superior, as is the sound. I "test drove" the product for many months and had many opportunities to hear people's opinions before buying since I worked in an Apple Store. I am very satisfied with my iGroove overall. However, I turn to these reviews in order to learn from other people's experiences and feel that the few negatives I've found have been omitted in this forum. So...1. Each time the unit is powered down the volume defaults.This should not be the case. Think about that for a minute. What other stereo product do you own that does that? Not a TV, rack system, or even your iPod does that. This design flaw is compounded by the fact that the volume you start at is too loud.2. The unit's lowest volume before mute is not low enough.In an open office environment you might not be able to use the iGroove since you can't turn it down enough if you have close neighbors. This may be linked to the album you are playing, but it has been true in my experience multiple times. The JBL products sound great at very low volume, so it certainly can be done. I heartily recommend that company's products on the whole, and the On Stage II specifically should be considered versus the iGrove. It isn't as robust, but it is much less expensive and sounds terrific.Incidentally, most people neglect to test drive speaker systems at the volume they are most likely to listen to them! This is understandable considering most stores are loud and people's natural impulse is to crank it, but I would urge you to plan to visit the store at a more quiet time of day (in my experience at Apple before noon, and try to avoid a weekend if possible) so that you can listen at reasonable levels. You can even ask a salesperson to turn down the store music for a minute and they most likely will be happy to accommodate you.3. The iPod's volume adjustment is disabled when in the cradle.Other units allow you to adjust their volume (perhaps in finer increments, though I'm not sure that is even technically possible) with either the built in controls or with the player. I think that flexibility is in essence a feature, and one the iGroove doesn't have for some reason.4. No input jack.I'd be nice to be able to listen to a portable CD player or laptop movie on these great speakers that you paid a goodly chunk for, but no.On balance I'm pleased with the product. After all, the overriding factor is sound quality when judging a speaker rig, and the Klipsch certainly delivers at a competitive price point. The nitpicking is for those of you out there that share in my AR personality. (If you don't know what that stands for give thanks as you are not one of the afflicted!)

I purchased this system to replace my office radio. I finally got fed up with listening to the same 5 or 6 songs over and over; when they aren't playing the same 5 or 6 commercials over and over. People pass by your cubicle and says that sounds great and they don't even like the type of music you listen to, you know you have a great speaker. I first heard the HG at an Apple Store. It made me want to get an IPOD even with my discontent for Apple. I purchased a male to male connection and use it with my satellite radio. The sound is phenomenal even at very low volume. I listen to music just below the sound of the AC unit. The speakers are sharp the sound is clear and best of all I don't disturb anyone. I enjoy going to work again.

Strengths:True sound reproduction, powerful system, 1/8" input in addition to the iPod dock, wall mountable sattelites, remote works well in my opinion, incredible clarity at high volumes, sub woofer does an incredible job.Weaknesses:The dock does not have the ability to synch with your computer, only one other input (1/8" mini) available for the speaker system, remote does not have bass level control (although the dock does).Summary:If you want the truest sounding iPod speaker system available on the market, the Klipsch IFI is that system. It is not portable, however. Most of the other speaker systems available for the iPod are portable, which is something you may want to consider. My iPod and headphones are my portable system, so I don't need speakers to travel with me as well. That said, there are many other speaker systems you can get at this price range, and simply hook up your $40 iPod dock to them. I also own the Altec Lansing iM7 In Motion, and there is no comparison between the two speaker systems. If you've turned your t.v. on, opened a magazine, or visited a website in the past few months, you will have been inundated by Bose's extensive marketing campaign to sell their product. The Bose system is decent for what it is, but it does not compete with this speaker system. Bose is selling small space, not top quality audio. It is impossible to get truly full, rich sound without a sub-woofer and power.The Klipsch website warns that the clarity is so good that people who have mp3 files that are encoded at low bitrates will hear the artifacts and swirling symbols. I thought this was marketing shenanigans, but I can say first hand that this is true. I encode all my lossy files with EAC+Lame at -V2 VBR quality, so my rips sound amazingly clear. I cannot discern between the original CD and the mp3 file. However, the mp3 files I have from "other sources" at 128Kbps no longer cut it with this speaker system.If you have a 60 Gig iPod Video, it will dock in the provided dock. I couldn't find any material online that would address this, so I went out on a whim and purchased it anyway (Costco has an amazing return policy). There is no connector for it, but one of the provided connectors (10G-15G) does fit the 60G iPod Video perfectly.The 1/8" mini (think headphone jack) is the only available input besides the iPod dock. This is nice, because I can connect my computer to the speaker system as well, but I would have liked to see RCA or other audio input connectors. Also, the dock should have the ability to synch the iPod to a computer, but it does not. It does charge the iPod. The remote control works well and does not have to be pointed at - or even in the same room as - the dock. As with all other iPod speaker systems to date, the remote does not have the ability to sift through menu options or playlists - only the basics are provided (volume up, volume down, skip/seek forward, skip/seek backward, and play/pause)In you need iPod connectivity with a self-amplified speaker system, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up this system. I purchased my set at Costco for $199. The lowest price I could find online shipped to California was $335 (as of December 13, 2005), so look around. Costco's website didn't have this system available, but it was in the store.Klipsch has an extensive track record and long listory of making quality speakers, beginning with their large horn speakers in the 1950's and continuing to today. They do not market like some other big names (Bose), but they make amazing speakers.I give this speaker system a 5 star rating because it is currently the best sounding iPod specific audio system in its class (Denon has an amazing system, but it's $1200). I wished it had the synchronizing feature and other input connectors, but these are personal preferences. With respect to sound quality for your buck, I give it 5 stars. If you need better sounding speakers, you'll need to spend more money.

We wanted to get a good sounding speaker set that wouldn't sound tinny or weak. This has great sound and has good volume output to fill a good sized room. The range is quite good, from solid base (from such small speakers) and good high range too.

I recently purchased this product and I LOVE it!!! It sounds amazing and I can use it with my ipod or my creative zen mp3 player with the included J cup. The only thing I had a problem with was the J cup at first. It did not say anything in the instructions but you have to turn the volume up on the mp3 player and the station to raise the volume enough. Once I figured that out it was perfect. My brother paid 3 times this much for a Bose and said mine was just as good!!! I found the reviews to be representative.

I had purchased the Altec Lansing inMotion iM5 from Amazon for $50 a while back but between the intermittent popping sound between tracks and tinny sound, I decided to get another dock/speakers and chose the Klipsch iGroove SXT based on Klipsch's reputation and the unit's reviews on Amazon. The iGroove SXT sounds much more warm and deep but lacks highs but it's still an improvement over the iM5. Great design (I prefer black to the white of the iM5)that allows the sound to be more widely dispersed than the iM5. The iGroove SXT does not have video composite out or subwoofer out (which it doesn't need anyway) like the iM5. I never use the unit's remote.Since I'm still not completely happy with the sound, I'm wondering if I should have just bitten the bullet and bought the B&W Zeppelin, but I haven't had the opportunity to listen to one to see if the $600 price is justified.

I purchased this Ipod speaker dock for my office. It meets all expectations and could easily fill a much larger area with big accurate sound. For the price of a cheap unit, I received a real speaker system from a real speaker company. The quality is evident and I would highly reccomend it for what it is.

Wow, tiny package, great low price, and a sound quality that will bring you to your knees. Yes, it is pretty bassy, for me, that kicks. I can see however how that might bother some. Although, you might be able to adjust the EQ on your ipod to make this less of a problem. This little unit has met and exceeded my expectations, by far the highest quality unit for the size and price. Highly recommended.

I'm giving this version of the iGroove 5 stars not because I know anything about great sound systems, but rather to emphasize how good it is for the (very) amateur audiophile.My wife got an ipod at about the time our stereo gave up the ghost. We decided finding a way to use the ipod as our sole music source would be a convenient way to go. After a little research on Amazon, I decided to give this product a try. We couldn't be happier...so simple to use, so portable, and enjoyable sound production.The only negative I've noticed thus far is the lame remote control. Oh well, it's a big thumbs up nevertheless.

When I opened the Klipsch iGroove SXT box and found the relatively small unit inside, I thought the picture on the screen must have been actual size. However, as soon as I powered it up and slipped my iPod Classic into the cradle, the rich, full sounds surprised and delighted. Great range and clear, this model is a super, room-filling (if not party-blasting), addition.Update 1/19/2012 - this thing still sounds great and is going strong. Let's hope subsequent models are just as good.

I've had my Klipsch SXT for just over a year now and I have totally enjoyed its beautiful rich sound and high quality workmanship. The rich sound is very impressive and there is practically no loss or distortion, even at very high volume... very pleasant!). I think it is fairly comparable to the Bose system, but at half the price.I am now shopping for a second set of iPod speakers for work (my new 160 GB iPod fits into the Klipsch SXT perfectly but is too big for the docking station of my cheaper speakers at work ie: Altec Lansing InMotion Folding speakers). So I've looked around for a very compact, yet premium-sounding, speaker setup for the workplace. After looking around online for a couple days I think I may just buy another set of Klipsch SXT's since I can't seem to find anything for under $300 that compares. The Klipsch iFi looks really nice too but is not as compact as I would like for the workplace. So for the money I still think the Klipsch SXT can't be beat.Addon note: I ended up buying the Klipsch iFi and taking my old SXT to work. The iFi is amazing!!!! Also highly recomended!

I've tried a few of the klipsch ipod speaker docks before and this one is the best by far. It has great sound and volume. I've taken it to alot of gatherings and everybody that hears it wants one, too.

We have been very happy with our igroove. It is just what we were looking for to put on our screened in porch when we are grilling outside. It gives off a great sound without sound distortion when the volume is turned up. It is also very easy to operate and carry from room to room if you choose. We have had a lot of fun with it, and I highly recommend this product.

This speaker has excellent sound (we were very surprised). It won't fit on the nightstand as we were hoping but it's so attractive, we found an alternative location in the bedroom. After reading some of the other reviews, we never leave the iPod connected the speaker when it's off (so no issues there).

When searching for a ipod speaker system we tried out some models from Target, bought one and had to return it. Then we went to the Apple store to give some speakers a listen. After deciding that the Harmon Kardon Go +Play was the best sounding (at $350), and the B&W Zeppelin was the 2nd runner up (at $600) we decided on this non-descript, but great sounding system. We tested the D-A-N-C-E song from Justice and Bach's cello concerto in G, two totally different songs with quite different ranges and sound mastering styles. The cello concerto sounded so warm, like it was playing on my stereo system at home. We buy it. At home I try the soundtrack to Tous Les Matin du Monde- (deep bass, high and clear voices and lot s of vibrato)and have been so impressed- almost brought to tears. Everything came out so clear, almost analog sounding. I didn't know a thing about the speakers before we bought them, and after googling them, I find that they are award-winning. I'm very picky when it comes to the quality of sound. I have previously tested a Bose SoundDock and it's a wonderful overpriced machine, great sound and no distortions on high volume. The Klipsch cannot compete with the SoundDock because it's on a different league. This is a smaller unit with great sound on the low and high frequencies even at high volumes, but don't cross the line, it will start to distort a little if the volume is way to high. It's great for a bedroom but you can still place it on the living-room, but don't expect it to perform at a teenage party. For the great bass, the small size, the remote and the price, I'll give it a 9.5, I'm pleased with the product but not impressed.

I recently purchased a Klipsch iGroove SXT sound system and I loved it from the moment I plugged it in. That is until the next day when the remote control decided to not work anymore! Then I realized that this system is too cool to worry about a little remote. No technical mumbo jumbo here, this system is perfect for people like myself who do not want to spend too much money, who will not use it often, but will be confident enough to use when a few friends and family come over for a small get together or just a quiet night relaxing by the fire. I love it and so does everyone else.

I was a little surprised when I opened the box to this sound system. It's no bigger that a loaf of bread. But after plugging my wife's ipod nano in and hearing the booming sound, I was very pleased. This little system packs a real punch. The bass output is incredible. It comes with adapters to fit the different ipod connectors and has an S-video output to view your ipod videos on a TV. I bought this because of the positive reviews and I can now agree with them. You will not be disappointed with this sound system.

Yes, this little box is quite amazing. It has the contempo look and style, etc., and an S-Video port for output to a TV for watching your iPod videos. It holds it's own soundwise as well. But I'm lazy... I needed the remote to work well, and this one was really bad. That's what killed it for me. It has tiny buttons and I have big hands. You have to point it directly at the sensor for it to work at all. The unit was also much smaller than it appears, which may be a good thing for some. But if you want better bass sound, there are other systems out there that are somewhat better along those lines, and that have usable remotes! I sent this one back, and reckon I'll just keep shopping! Good luck with it to you though. It actually is a smart purchase... and may be just the unit you want -but not me. I shopped around a lot before I bought this. All in all, this box isn't so bad for the price, what you do get from it, and the unit's total quality... but the remote just had to go. I want to be able to give 5 STARS to the next system I get. -Peace.

I had looked at the many different options before choosing the Klipsch iGroove SXT. Out of the systems I had listened to, it was down to the Klipsch and the Bose SoundDock. To me, after listening to the two side-by-side, there wasn't enough difference to justify the +$100 price difference of the Bose. I've have used both Bose and Klipsch products in the past, and have been very satisfied with both. If you're in the market for an affordable iPod speaker solution, this is definitely worth taking a listen to!

I was very happy with the unit (almost Hi-Fi sound) for several months, despite the ridiculous remote and the fiddly vol/subwoofer/power controls on the docking unit. Then the docking unit started to malfunction. When you spin the vol control and/or push the sub woofer button, the sound either cuts out or alternates from speaker to speaker or blasts so loud that it threatens to either deafen you or blow the speakers. Internet seraches indicate that this is a widespread problem requiring new docking units.

The Klipsch iGroove speakers sound great with my ipod touch. I have used the Bose Sounddock for my ipod and these speakers are comparable to the Bose speakers. For about half the price. Would definitly recommend these speakers for anyone that is looking for value for money in ipod speakers. Great Sound.

I bought this product after reading countless reviews that there was no difference in sound quality between the Klipsch and the Bose. Sorry to say for both my time and wallet that is simply not the case. This speaker while significantly cheaper that the bose (i bought this for $119.28) is not in the league as the Bose. My brother and sister both have the Bose speaker so I've heard theirs many times. My problem with thew Klipsch is that it lacks bass VERY badly. I've read the reviews about the memory volume problems and found that its really no problem at all. If you like quality sound the bose is worth the extra money sadly i'm packing this up after I write this and ordering the bose. (my girlfriend is none too happy as we're not going out to dinner tonight, but you have to give up something to get the quality of sound people should have.

The speaker system arrived a day or 2 late,but has been working fine.I like the remote and the fact that when the music ends it automatically shuts off.

I went to the Apple Store to pick up the cute little HiFi that just came out after reading several positive reviews online (and okay, some negative ones.) I went to the store just to give it a little listen and pick one up.After a few minutes of listening I went "this is it?"Yes, it is adorable and the iPod sticks right in the top but frankly - the Apple speaker system is not really great sounding.I looked over to the back and sitting on the floor were two large Klipsch iFi speaker systems looking unwanted and ignored. I had previously been locked on getting those and the marketing machine at Apple almost made me forget them.I peeked at the boxes and the prices were slashed from SRP. Asked a sales rep and he said they were being discontinued but it was too bad since he had a pair and he LOVED them. I asked him what he would buy and he said hands down - "The iFi."So... with alot of hesitation I took the chance. And then almost broke my back trying to pick up the iFi box. (Yes, they are solid solid speakers.) Luckily the Apple Store is awesome and they wheeled them down to the dock so I could put them in my car (in a mall no doubt!)Anyway -- I got them home and started hooking them up.Okay -- so these things look like computer speakers. Don't let that fool you. Feel the weight of one of the satellites and you realize this is a nicely made speaker. I have Logitech 5500 Digitals hooked to my PC so I have pretty much the best computer speakers out there.I think the iFi's are better. Truly big sound from 3 speakers. Great resonance. Crisp at every level. A subwoofer that is musical and not overly boomy or made to make up for the lacking of the other speakers (Bose.... yeah you know it.)I put them through the paces of everything on my iPod and everything sounds awesome. The only thing not awesome is that i now feel like re-ripping all my music in Apple Lossless codec as I can now hear artifacts in some (not all) tracks.They are wall mountable and everything is well made. The room I have them in has 20 foot ceilings and it fills it with large spacious sound. I had the satellites 4 feet apart and moving them to 12 feet made a big difference.Downsides: the remote is tiny and you can't tell what the buttons are very well, NO balance control, the volume wheel seems backwards and is very hard to turn, and lastly - it is real speaker wire so you have to screw the wires on the back. No fancy plugs here.Another gripe is with Apple -- you don't get the cool new features on your iPod that you get with their own speaker (surprise surprise). You also can't navigate the iPod menu with the remote only jump tracks.All in all though -- this is the best iPod speaker system out there. Unless you have to have portability which was not an issue for me. This is now my stereo system.And now I know why Apple wants to get the iFi's out of their store - next to these babies, the Apple HiFi sounds weak indeed. Smart move, really.

These speakers are far superior than any others that I have ever had. I consider myself an audiophile and these babies rock. Fantastic, crisp, clear, high definition sound!

The iGroove SXT lives up to all the 5-star reviews I read. It definitely sounds "bigger" than it looks. At half the price of a Bose you won't be disappointed. The remote did get some negative comments but I've had no problems. And I really like the feature that turns your iPod into an alarm clock.

I must admit that I haven't heard Bose, but I do own this product and it sounds great. Klipsch horn technology is fantastic and the comperable Bose product is more than twice as much $169 vs. $400. I am buying the next version (HG all in one) for my mother-in-law for Christmas and I know she will love it The bass on this unit is fine. The Bose may very well reproduce deep base better, but the overall frequency response of this system (especially mids and tweeter) is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. If you can afford the Bose without batting an eye then buy it, but this is a very nice product for less than half the price.

I've been using the new iGroove SXT and I am impressed. I have never used the original one but I can imagine they are similar. They both have dual 2.5 woofers and this one has a .75" tweeter as opposed to the originals 1". This one has some of the same flaws I read about in some of the original ones reviews. It has excellent sound at low and mid-high ranges is very good all the way through the volume range with noramal songs, but, with bassy songs at high volumes you get distortion and it's not always pretty. Alot of it can be fixed with the EQ function on the iPod though. I have cruised many of the local electronic stores and can say this one slaughters most of the competition when it comes to clarity, volume and a real life presence in the sound. The mm50 by Logitech can't touch it. The Bose is clearer at high volumes. The altec is as loud but not as clear. Many others like the On Stage II, iHome, iLove, Logitech's and many others aren't even in the same category. This one is much better. The original Klipsch is probably a tad bit louder, by the specs, and is selling dirt cheap right now. But, this one is smaller, has an s- video output and is much better looking,looking more Bose like. This SXT can also be set to turn on with the iPod's alarm, unlike the original Klipsch iGroove.
