The size and sound of the Klipsch is great for what it is. It is nice and compact and the sound is large in comparison to its size. The only issue I had was my Iphone 4s would not fit into the docking area. The reason is my Iphone is encased in a Otter Protection Sleeve and makes the Iphone very bulky.Thankfully, we still use an old Iphone 3 as an Ipod and it worked out great.

After upgrading my home stereo to a $7K home theater I began to enjoy my old music library in a new way. I'm no audiophile, but I'm now enjoying music listening a whole lot more. When I want to immerse myself in sound I head down to the basement to rock out.Despite the big splurge, I'm still cheap. I hate spending more money than I have to. I started looking around for a decent iPhone speaker system for the kitchen where we spend most of our time, but I didn't want 4ft tall tower speakers and a big amp on the counter, I wanted something compact and that doesn't draw a ton of attention to itself. But also after hearing what good music could really sound like, I didn't want something that sounded plastic and hollow.I was about to default to the Bose sound dock- even though I really hate paying that much just for name brand. I knew there had to be a good middle road. Everything else I could find was in the $50-150 range but sounded terrible. Until I tried this dock. Side by side the Bose has a deeper sound in a big open space, but if you're looking for a more neutral sound (ie you don't want everything to sound hip hop) this will sound better to you. 4 Separate drivers gives cleaner sound to my ear. Certainly, for the $100 I saved by not going with the Bose sounds good too. There is plenty of bass for a counter top unit. It plays plenty loud without distortion. We've had it about 6 months.Obviously, if you're looking for the "best" sound, go get a real amp, real speakers and probably a sub. If you're looking for a simple compact counter unit that will do your music justice with clear treble and decent bass, but you don't want to spend $100 just on the name badge, this is a great choice.

I bought my iFi unit about three years ago. I liked the sound so well I bought a second unit for anoher location. However, within two years the right channel in the amp has failed in both units. And, if you look on the internet you will find several for sale also with no working right channel. And, often now you see only the speakers for sale. I wonder why? These unit are expensive junk. This was my first experience spending a lot of money on Klipsch product and I assure you it will be the last. They generously offered to replace the failed component for $105 but I'm not willing to put any more money into these units since this is a cronic problem somewhere in the amp design.(had to buy a new remote sometime ago because it failed as well ... also a known problem) Stay way from Klipsch product. There are too many good alternatives out there to risk another Klipsch failure.

I just purchased this item about a month ago and every time I listen to music through this I am glad that I bought this. It took me about an hour or so to decide "Do I want this or the iHome P49 portable speaker?" Then I put both of them to the "Slayer Test" which this passed with flying colors. No distortion at high levels and the sounds are rich and pure. (Some distortion with the iHome, but just enough to leave it at the store) As far a features go (which is not the reason why I bought it) the only extras are the S-Video jack to plug into your tv and watch video while listening to the audio thru the speakers and the external MP3 player plug for using with other MP3 players than the ipod. Otherwise it's just your basic ipod speaker system, but with exceptional sound. Does come with adapters for all of the different ipod models out there. (It does work with the new ipod touch 4G as I own one and was using it to test the iGroove SXT!) So if you want a good quality ipod speaker system without spending as much as anything by Bose (all hype as far as I am concerned with Bose) invest in the iGroove SXT. Now back to listening...

I've had this for a little over a year and was very happy with it. Great sound for a small unit. Then this week it suddenly stopped playing. The lights come on, but no sound from the ipod docked or when plugged into the back. I guess that's why it has only a 1 year warranty. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is a terrific sound dock from Klipsch. I upgraded to this from the previous version of Klipsch SXT and I am very happy with my purchase. The most important thing for any sound dock is the "Sound quality". Everything else is secondary. What good is a car with all the bells and whistles when it doesn't handle well? Similarly, a dock should serve its primary purpose. I tested a variety of docks before buying this. At this price point, none of the others even come close in terms of the acoustic quality. I am really impressed with the bass this small unit produces. It also handles high and medium frequencies very well. Great for anyone who appreciated listening to high quality music!

I use my iGroove at work, and I must say that I am totally satisfied with this purchase; the sound is fabulous for such a small unit. I have owned stereo "boombox" CD players twice the size that don't sound as good as the iGroove. I know that for many users of the newer iPods the lack of the dock charging feature is a major drawback, but these newer 'pods WILL still play when connected through the iGroove's Auxillary 1/8" jack located in the back of the unit (having an Aux jack was one of my speaker deal breakers as I also frequently play music from my cell phone). For me, the first and last word on "portable" speakers is the sound, and I'd like to think that I did some fairly exhaustive research on which unit (Bose, JBL, Altec, Creative, etc.) would get the best bang for my buck. By the way, please know that I use the term "portable" loosely as the this Klipsch unit is not actually classified as such, but it can be- more on that in a bit. I settled on the SXT unit after seeing and listening to many of the current speaker offerings on display at Best Buy and a couple of other retailers. I must admit that the Bose Sounddock Portable is a very sexy unit in nearly every way, but unfortunately Bose continues to price point their products out of the range of most of the market- and who wants to tote around $400 worth of speaker investment to possibly break, lose, or have stolen? Having said that, and assuming that you like the Bose "sound"- because Bose speakers very definitely have a specific sound from their speakers to their headphones- the Bose unit is divine; by all means pick one up if you have the means. The JBL speakers (specifically the "OnTour" models) sounded OK, but had weird quirks about design and were also fairly expensive, pound-for-pound. Most of the Altec models felt sort of flimsy, and sounded even more so, especially in comparison to the Klipsch and Bose units. Finally, though this Klipsch unit retails in the $165 - $175 range, you can easily find it all over the internet for half that or slightly more. Even at full retail price, it is still the top choice when compared to the sound and functionality of the similarly priced units (Altec and JBL)- but when you can get it for $80 - $100? No contest.Again, pound for pound this Klipsch iGroove SXT is not only the best value, but truly one of the two best models available for sound quality and functionality. The tone is even handed, and the bass is present and clear- you can actually feel the low notes! Here are the improvements that I would like to see Klipsch make to future models / updates of the iGroove:- Update the software / docking station to charge the newest iPods.- Upgrade the remote to fully-functional iPod menu controls.- Within the confines of maintaining the excellent sound output of the unit, improve its portability. This means make the unit slightly thinner (it's about 1/2 - 3/4" too deep from front to back for backpack travel) and make the unit lighter, if possible.Cheers, and happy speaker hunting.

You won't be disappointed by this unit. I struggled for a while deciding whether I should spend twice the money for the Bose unit and finally decided on this one. Sound quality is excellent and so is the construction of the unit itself. It has some weight to it and feels solid. You can spend twice the money on the Bose but unless you are a real audiophile, I think you'll be satisfied with this for the price. A nice touch is that the iphone 4 in the case docks right in the unit. I come home from work and pop the iphone in and charge the phone while I listen to tunes. Oh yeah, like everyone else said the remote is useless.

Length:: 0:22 MinsI agree with most people here that had mostly positive reviews that had both pros and cons.If you have an iPhone, I recommend that you melt/cut the inner plastic wall that prevents the phone from sliding into the dock. The iPhone 2G (jailbroken) will charge and play at the same time but the iPhone 3GS (jailbroken) will not charge but still play. I used a soldering iron before it got really hot & melt the sides to make it wider. I also opened it up before hand to make sure no electronics where in the way and to test it 1st before I made the permanent and ugly modification.NOTE: Not sure if an iPhone 4G will work but you may not need to melt/cut the dock since it should fit.

I've owned 3 of these units - purchased on sale at CostCo.First - I LOVED the iFi. The sound is outstanding, the docking of the iPod is great - the remote works from a considerable distance. Even the design is stellar (and flexible - speaker stands are removable). Loved it so much that a week after buying my first iFi - went back to CostCo and purchased 2 more. After a few months of use (a lot of use) - there was a problem. The iFi would suddenly stop working and never function again!Specifically, the unit seems to stop receiving power. It behaves as though it is un-plugged - even though it is clearly plugged into the wall. This has happened to all three units over time. Different outlets, even different houses (I had moved). Would be a Five Star product - if it only worked...I sent an email to Klipsch - but never got a response.

I won't be buying a Klipsch again. It has turned out to be an expensive ipod charger since that is all that it does now. It was awesome at first but it started having volume problems after about 6 months of very limited use. The volume will not go up or down and it can be heard at about whisper level. Also there is no troubleshooting guide in the manual which is really strange considering all the problems I have seen with it via the internet!

Here's the quick. The Klipsch is quite good but not quite great. I performed my own side-by-side comparison of the Klipsch iGroove SXT ($149) to the Bose SoundDock Portable ($359).Bose * Richer, deeper more robust sound. Truly is impressive. * Touch volume buttons easier to push (vs. Klipsch mechanical buttons take a little force). * Cord transformer part of the plug plus the cord can smartly be partially hidden in the transformer to let out only the amount of cord you want (vs. Klipsch transformer in the middle of the cord that clutters the countertop). Advantage Bose. * Achieves louder volume (though Klipsch is pretty good too). * Heavier unit, presumably a reflection of larger speaker magnets. (Both units have essentially the same countertop footprint but the Bose is taller.)Klipsch * Very good sound, but just not as impressive as the Bose. * Exchangable docking port for various MP3 players (though the one-size-fits-all on the Bose works fine for my iPhone). * Accepts the iPhone without a warning. (Annoyance of the Bose: it displays a warning message that it's not compatible with the iPhone even though it actually is.) * Price.Bottom Line:If you have $149 to spend, buy the Klipsch and you'll be happy. If you have $359 to spend, buy the Bose and you'll be very happy.

Take Away: Great device for the bedroom or den. Terrific warm tones and, with only the necessary features, it feels like you're spending money on the features that improve listening. If you are looking for something for a larger room or busy office (where some of those extra features might be welcome) keep looking.**************First a confession: I'm no audiophile. I pride myself on still having the same Sony receiver (albeit demoted from home theater play in favor of one that can handle surround sound) used daily in the living room. But I like music and I want it to sound warm, recognizable, and with at least some of the richness of tones I associate with live performances. We were buying this system for our bedroom and so we didn't want to spend more than $200 dollars, and we wanted something that would look nice in our modern style room. And we wanted our music to sound like, well, music. We tested a variety of models in the busy and loud warehouse space of Best Buy -- not at all like our bedroom, by the way -- using songs loaded onto my iPhone. The Klipsch won. And not just because it looks nice (which it does) and because we could turn it up (which we could) but because the overall tone and the ability to hear the different components of music -- including the silence in some Chet Baker jazz pieces -- felt superior to the other systems we listened to. We did like the Bose SoundDock but it felt like overkill for our intended purpose. If we'd be going for are larger room or looking to replace that only Sony receiver, we might have gone with it.At home, we love the iGroove. It fills the room nicely and our bed, about 7 feet from the speakers, seems right in the sweet spot of the music. We also love the low frills. Frankly, we have plenty of alarm clocks. I don't need to play CDs if I can access my iPod. And I would never want to interrupt evening music listening to take a call over the speaker phone. Two caveats:1. The video capability is only good for older video enabled iPods. Don't expect to watch any downloaded movies using this and your TV (which makes so little sense to me I almost took a star away).2. The remote leaves a little to be desired. It can move forward and back in your current playlist, change the volume and turn the device on or off, but you can't back up and choose another playlist. While it feels like I'd want that feature, realistically, I can't see the iPod menu until within an arms length of the Klipsch Groove SXT anyway.

If you know Klipsch like I know Klipsch, then you, of course, should not be surprised at the great sound. The bass is not exactly earth shaking, but with the type of music I'm currently listening to (Jazz, New Age, Alternative), it suits my bedroom just fine. I'm definitely hearing a wider range of sounds than before. The system itself is pretty small (a lot smaller than I expected) but with the nice sound coming out, I'm glad it's a space saver. My main concern is the docking connector. When you dock the Ipod/Iphone, it is only held up by a small connector; your Ipod/Iphone is not thick enough to lean up against the wall of the slot for support. Therefore, when you use your Ipod/Iphone, it definitely jiggles and will eventually loosen the connector. My easy solution: I folded a piece of tissue for support! :-)(Also, the volume switches on the speakers are hard to push, but the remote solves this concern.)Hopefully the next edition of the iGroove will address this problem, but until then, I'm enjoying this Klipsch immensely.

We shopped for our ipod/iphone speakers very carefully. Tested brands at stores, read reviews on various websites, and a week prior to purchasing, were fortunate enough to have use of the Bose Wave System. I have the Altec Lansing In Motion speaker system from a few years back. Terrible. Really awful connection. I will say the Bose sounded excellent, but the price is prohibitive. Bose does a lot of advertising, has stores, info ads, etc..I know thats part of the cost. Klipsch, on the other hand, makes speakers, thats it. The sound of these speakers is on par with the Bose systems. Its a wonderful speaker system for the price. Works perfectly with all makes and models of ipods and iphone, no feedback at all. When running the iphone, you can use any number of internet and satellite radio apps available in the app store. All in all its an excellent product for the price. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for very good sound quality, but not looking to spend $200+ and I would purchase Klipsch products again for sure!

The sound quality is great andit only has three buttons: Volume Up, Volume Down and Power. For any and all other features, you would use youriPhone or iPod apps, which we do. This speaker system has replaced our alarm clock, which we did not anticipate when webought it. We frequently unplug it and use it in different rooms, even on our outside deck. We love this portability, asyou can put it anywhere where you have access to a power outlet. Given its small footprint, you can put it on a night stand. This product is a great value for the money, and we have not experienced any drawbacks in the months we have used it.

Compared to Bose SoundDock, Polk, Denon, and anything else I could get my hands on. Spent 2.5 hours in a store doing side by sides. I am obsessive about trying to compare apples and apples. Klipsch won when compared to items in the same price range every time. Hands down. Also hung very very close with those way more expensive (besting quite a few like the Denon). Bose sounds *slightly* better, but not by much and not for more than $100 more. We own a Sonos S5 as well (which also sounds great) but it's lots more expensive and the Klipsch holds its own against that very well too. Basically, this is the best item of it's kind out there for the money. The plastic could be a little less flimsy, but it's not ultra fragile either. Great balance of sound quality and price. Worth every penny.

The iPod does not fall out, the unit is totally portable/foldable, deep bass, it charges the iPod, and can be used with batteries, unlike the Klipsch plus a 2 year warranty to boot - what a great deal only $65 v $150 for the Klipsch from Amazon.

I don't really need it, but this thing sounds so great that I will make sure I find a use for it.This thing could easily function as a sound system for a party or out on the patio hanging out by the pool in the summer. It's pretty compact (maybe 1 CD case tall by 2 CD cases wide) but it is definitely packed with power. I cranked it up pretty high and the sound quality never skipped a beat. Great bass, great sound. Simply a great product. Klipsch appears to be as good as I've always heard.

My Klipsch iFi system lasted almost 2 years before it puked. But before it puked it was an awesome sound system. It began to play only 1 speaker and then the volume control was not controllable and might blast you before you got control of it via your software volume controls. Controllers are almost impossible to find, and priced very high. I donated the whole thing to my techno friend who said he could use the satellite speakers at least. Here's what Brian said, "So I opened the sub up for the heck of it and 4 of the 5 main capacitors are blown out. The tops are popped and chemical residue is leaking out. They usually last a lot longer than 3 years! Either theres a design flaw or they had a whole lot of bad capacitors. That would explain part of why its intermittent. Some signal still goes thru but then gets cut off by all the damage to the capacitors. My guess is something else is wrong that caused them to blow out. We could replace them but theyd probably go bad again after a certain amount of use. It looks to me like the insides will get scrapped and maybe it will make a good stand alone sub,"I opted for a Logitech z2300 at half the price. At least when it pukes, I won't feel like I spent a whole bunch of money on it.

I received this for christmas (yesterday) and immediately pulled it out of the box, plugged it in and started using it. My friend bought it for me knowing i'm a Klipsch fan. That is my favorite speaker. Bose lovers out there, i'm sorry. I know bose is "THE" name but i think Klipsch makes a beautiful speaker for less money, and in general i think they are very versatile. This tiny unit is true to one of my favorite Klipsch qualities, which i call "fatness". they tend to make a very bright speaker, which i do like as long as there's enough 'fat' sound and depth to support the bright projection of sound. (i know overly bright speakers can tend to lack warmth, even if they are decent quality). For the size, there is a good quality, high volume and generally good fat sound.Obviously at home, playing my Ipod thru my Onkyo Integra receiver and large Klipsch towers, blows this small speaker system away. That is a given....but this unit also doesn't cost a couple thousand dollars and can go with you to the office or in a back room, etc. I love it. I have an Ihome too, and it's not bad, i've enjoyed it--but it's nothing compared to this in sound quality, and overall sturdy construction. when you dock the ipod it feels secure, it looks sleek and even the remote feels sturdy in the hand.as an ipod docking system i'd rate it as one of the best ones out there. worth spending a few extra dollars to enjoy sound quality....and in my case, i received as a gift so i didn't spend any dollars. :-)

When shopping for an I-pod dock, I compared a number of different models. The only one I could find that sounded better than the Klipsch SXT was the Bose SoundDock which is almost twice as much as the Klipsch. Unless you just have to have the best available option, or you listen to music almost constantly at very high volume, the extra $$$ you will spend on the Bose is unjustified in my opinion.I also looked at the Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 but it has an inferior response range, and just didn't sound as good. This was most noticeable in the higher ranges, where the Altec got pretty pitchy. The Philips DC910/37 is also inferior, with a large amount of distortion present at higher volumes. I also checked out a few others that I don't remember well enough to comment on, but they were all uninspiring when it came to sound quality.Klipsch is one of my favorite speaker manufacturers, and I've come to trust their brand to provide quality sound for a very reasonable price. The SXT dock is not an exception. This dock is not made for an audiophile, and if you expect it to perform like free standing audiophile speakers, or even high quality ear buds, you will be disappointed. However, if you want a quality dock for a reasonable price, the SXT is a really nice option. If you want an even better, but much less portable option, get yourself a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. With a dedicated, powered sub, and large R/L speakers, they will really fill a room with sound in a way that this dock will not. They also are not as sleek, and require more space.

I was searching for a set of 2.0 speakers for events that could fill a room properly and found a pair of Klipsch speakers. Those things are the best ever. So when I went looking for an iPod dock I thought of Klipsch.I ended up buying the JBL dock instead that was on sale for $50 because I thought JBL was a good brand. I was so wrong!! The speakers sounded like the ones in my MacBook Pros. No bass at all.So I returned it and ordered this one. I have had it for about a week now and I can say the quality is right up there with my other Klipsch speakers. It has incredible loud, full, rich, clear sound with plenty of bass. Don't waste your money on the Bose system unless you are one of those people that enjoys spending a lot of money. The only negative thing about this system is that with the most recent Ipod Classics (mine is the 80GB variety) when the EQ is set on the rock setting like I like, or something similar that boosts the bass it can sound a bid muddy and distorted at higher volumes. I found that the perfect EQ for this system is the "Treble Booster" setting at the bottom. The thing sounds perfect now! It is sometimes a pain to have to change the EQ every time I move around, but I mainly just go from my dock to my car with it.I am very very picky when it comes to speakers, and this system is all that I could imagine in an iPod dock. I use the AUX in for my laptop too. Sounds great!

Really flawless sound at any volume! Classical music sounds amazing... crisp, clear, ground shaking! It's like being in a concert hall. Rock music really rocks, the subwoofer is beautiful (for both auditory and visual), with adjustable level which is nice.iFi provides many thoughtful features such as line in on the woofer and also on the docking station (the former will allow computer sounds to play together with your music, the latter will over-ride the iPod and can be used for CD players etc).My 160 GB iPod fits perfectly in the docking station (I didn't need to use any of the adapters included with the iFi since the 160Gb iPod is wider than most iPods). The RF remote rocks too, since you don't have to point it at the speakers to work, you don't even have to be in the same room! It is very touch sensitive and responds very quickly, with volume up and down, track forward or back, fastforward/reverse and play/mute. On the dock itself is a lightbar that shows volume and subwoofer volume, and you can adjust subwoofer level there too. I haven't had a problem yet with figuring out which button on the remote control is volume etc (as other reviewers have) but I can see where in a dark room it might be an issue. Backlighting of the remote would have been helpful. With such a small inconspicuous footprint (just two fairly small speakers and docking station, in addition to a pretty small subwoofer) one is very surprised to hear such HUGE sound. It easily surpasses my home theater surround sound system, at least for iPod playback (I admit I have a fairly cheap 75 watt per channel Sony 5.1 home theater system... saving my pennies to upgrade that too someday).Piano pieces sound really wonderful on the iFi (usually speakers will distort piano playback quite a bit). On iFi the sound quality is absolutely no different (in my humble opinion) than listening to a live piano performance (at least to my amateur ears it sounds the same). I am a pianist so this means a lot to me.Overall highly recommended product. There are some pretty good deals out on the iFi right now (jan 2008) so I would highly recommend taking advantage of one of those before their stock runs out (iFi is a limited re-edition from Klipsch... see Klipsch.com for more info.. I bought it right from their website. They had the best price especially if you can find a coupon. Check out dealnews.com for possible coupon codes)Happy hunting!

I recieved this product as a gift in 2007. After one year of playing it, the product made loud popping sound and lost its volume. The unit will no longer produce any sound. I called Klipsch for technical support. They said since the unit was out of warranty there was nothing they could do. They would not offer to repair or look at my broken Igroove. To put it mildly, they were absolutely no help what so ever. They're answer was "Go buy a new one they're cheaper now".Just about like everything else, Klipsch makes their ipod products in China, and they are mass produced. I would say Klipsch new business model is to make cheap crappy products and rely on their laurels of their quality name to dupe the consumer into buying junk.

I really like this system. I have them hooked up to my hdtv and my xbox and I think they sound great. I don't like the remote too much but it's simple and works fine. They are solid and sound great as a compact 2.1 home theater system or as a main music system. Klipsch are awesome and I feel good about supporting an American company making a great product.

This is a great unit, that maintains audio clarity to the highest levels of volume. I bought this for my girlfriends birthday and neither of us have been disappointed. Recently, I used it as the sole source of music for a housewarming party in a room of approximately $600 sq feet, with 14 foot ceilings and it worked very well.A word to the wise, if you are looking for a portable unit do pick this one. Carrying this thing around is not recommended, this is a home unit and is bulky or more accurately oddly shaped for travel purposes.

I bought this as a gift for my mother for her 60th Birthday. First of all it took forever to get to me - it did not make it in time for her birthday - perhaps I am naive, but 1 1/2 weeks seemed a little long for shipping. Then when she got it, her brand new iPod nano (that she just got for her above mentioned 60th) did not charge on the docking station. And you have to be about 2 inches away from it for the remote control to work. Okay a little exaggerated - but really about 2 feet or less. So, needless to say I am returning this item and finding something better for my mother. I have to say - it does have good sound. I will give it props for that. But when two out of the three things I wanted it for (charging and the remote) didn't work, the nice sound quality just wasn't enough.I do also have to say that the woman I spoke to when I called to find out where my item was, was very plesant. I guess when it takes so long to ship a subpar item you have to have good customer service. :)If you have an older iPod and don't care about the remote (or how long it takes to ship to you) then this would be an adequate purchase. I however, was not a happy consumer.

this is my first review for any item that I've ever bought from Amazon.I've been searching for sound docks for over a month and even considered the Bose systems but was hesitant about the price. Then I came across this Klipsch iGroove! This system is compact and has great sound. The bass is nice and deep and the highs are good too. Even at high volumes, it does not distort. It fills up the room nicely. The remote has basic features (volume, skip, mute, & power). The range on it is pretty good.I use this system all the time and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering a sound dock that actually has great sound! The Pros:-Good Sound-Compact design-Affordable-Comes with several adapters to fit any iPod (I can fit my iPhone or my wife's 1st Gen. Nano with no problems).-EASY setup-Simple to useThe Cons:-Although it works perfectly with my iPhone 3G, it does not charge it.-The battery on the remote died within the first 5 minutes of usage so I had to purchase another one (uses those small round expensive batteries).

The description is not correct in saying it supports all iPods. In reality it only powers the 1st and 2nd gen iPods. After getting it home and plugging my new iPod Nano only to see a message pop up saying the unit can't power it did I do research online (from Apple and Klipsch). I found the answer to the problem in several places. Apple changed how the power is delivered from the connector and so newer iPods will not charge through these speakers. This is a known problem and is on the Klipsch website but this description was not updated. I called Klipsch and they say they told Amazon but the description was not changed. I wasted $$ on this and can't return it although it's Amazon's error not mine or Klipsch. Aren't we suppose to trust these descriptions? I won't do that again, I'll call the manufacturer first.

I'm a VERY picky person when it comes to sound, and a huge music fan. I spent about a half hour at Best Buy plugging my I pod nano into every I pod dock they had on display, this Bose was great, but it was $400, so i tried the Klipsch, just as good! i turned it up ALL The way in the store, and the employee's and tons of Christmas shoppers didn't seem to mind. it has a surprising amount of bass for such a small object, and sounds great even at max volume, with little if any distortion. The "line in" is one of the reasons i choose this over a Bose, i can plug it into my computer (awesome internet radio!) or use it for movies on my TV, simply with a 6 foot $3 headphone cable. The remote is useless except for <10' muting and track skipping. although Ive got remote reception up to 20' its not likely.for an alarm clock, you can use your I pods alarm (make a "wake up" playlist).

This was one of the best purchases I've made for my ipod. The sound quality is great. I work as a mechanic and you can here the music throughout the whole shop and it actually sounds better when you're not sitting right next to it.The only downfall is that its not portable and doesn't have a menu button on the remote.I am very happy otherwise with this purchase.

I bought this sound system in December 2007. It was a replacement for a JBL OnStage. The sound was deeper and richer. It fills a room despite it's small size. Bass is what you would expect from a system this size, but it's no competitor for a true sound system with dedicated bass.I've used this unit with my iPod Nano, iPod Video, and iPod Touch with no problems in sound quality and features. The unit also charges those products through an internal firewire connection.Using the unit with the iPhone 3G has problems. First, because the iPhone is a cellular device, it produces noticeable interference unless you switch the iPhone into Airplane Mode, which turns off Wi-Fi and cell phone features. My iPod Touch did not produce interference from the Wi-Fi so I'm assuming it's only coming from the cellular connection. Second, the iPhone 3G removed the internal firewire connection, so the Klipsch system does not charge the iPhone 3G because charging is only accomplished through the USB connection. Other than those two problems, music plays fine through the Klipsch system. One thing that could have made the product better was to have an RF remote instead of IR. I use this product at work and the use of fluorescent lighting limits the range of the remote to just a few feet within line of sight.

I purchased this unit because of the great reviews that it has. I did like the sound, my issue was that when I docked my Ipod Touch 2g there was an immediate message on the ipod that said charging is not compatible with this accessory. I immediately went to the Amazon site and reread the listing. Keep in mind that I researched this and other comparable systems for about a week before I purchased. The Amazon site stated that it was compatible with the ipod touch 2g and that it charges all ipods. This is simply not true. I did a google search and found a review from a man on Amazon in the UK and he confirmed the error message that I was getting and he also stated that it is not compatible with the new Nano 4g. Amazon needs to change the description to reflect this. I purchased this through Amazon from [...] which I will say was very friendly and easy to deal with in the return process!

This is the second SXT that I have owned. The first one worked great out of the box. Sound for the money is outstanding. Easy to use. The second SXT was not quite as easy. When received the remote did not work. I contacted Amazon and they sent out a replacement system the same day. Unfortunately the next system had the same problem. I replaced the battery in both remotes and they worked fine. Now both systems work great.

I purchased this player based upon the reviews I found here on Amazon.com. While it's important to take some of the things said with a grain of salt, these reviews were pretty accurate. Prior to receiving this, I went and finally checked out the Bose and am sure glad I did. It sounded very nice. Like others, I felt the price was prohibitive, but all in all, a very nice player. When I got this Klipsch, my ideas changed, in a hurry. This thing sounds so much better. I found that with the iPod, one must assure that the "Sound Check" is turned on. Once this is accomplished, the music is excellent whether turned low or all the way to the max. I already own two sets of Klipsch towers and a Center Channel speaker and felt that I need to remain loyal, especially since Klipsch does an amazing job of sound reproduction. I now have another Klipsch product I'm proud to own.

Received this unit for Christmas along with a new iPod Touch. Considering its diminutive size the sound is quite respectable. I have not compared this to Bose, Altec Lansing, head to head, but I have tried those units in stores and my perception is that from the standpoint of sound quality you would not get a better bang for your buck. I have large Klipsh horns for my main stero so maybe I'm biased and prefer sound a bit on the bright side? The only down side is that the unit does not charge the new iPod Touch. If I were on the design team I woould also throw in a basic alarm clock function. With 32GB of music on there I don't find it necessary to sync often so alarm and charging would make this a perfect iPod accessory for my nightstand.

HUUUGE sound for such a little device. I had no idea how tiny this thing would be but it's so easy to carry around from room to room. I got it for my mom and she brings it with her in the kitchen, in the bathroom while she showers, and in her bedroom. Fantastic product and the price on amazon is like half the price of what best buy sells it for.

When you get this you will not have very high hopes of good sound quality because of its small size. You will be amazed at the sound quality once you start listening! Very crisp sound and amazing base for such a small package. It would be nice if it had some additional features, but I didn't buy it for any of that. I trusted the Klipsch name and I am very pleased with this product.

Our CD player died last winter, and my wife and I decided to switch to iPods. For the last eight months, we've been using iPod headphones while we carefully researched an MP3 speaker system. We had been watching the Bose SoundDock for a while to see if the price fluctuated, but recently stumbled upon the iGroove. It seemed to have all the same features with good reviews--at half the price of the SoundDock--so we went for it.In two days of listening, here are my observations:1. The very first thing I noticed when I hit power was the hiss of the speakers. The iPod headphones don't hiss, so I thought it sounded pronounced, but my wife didn't notice it. I pulled out some computer speakers to compare, and while there is a slight hiss on the computer speakers, it is noticeably louder on the iGroove. The hiss remains while music is playing. The further away you are from the player, the less you hear the hiss, and when your mind turns to something else (like washing the dishes), you don't hear the hiss at all. Like I said before, my wife hardly notices it.2. The sound is powerful at all volumes. I have found that at half volume, the sound fills the room and retains a lot of its presence in adjacent rooms. The sound projects well, so you don't have to crank it to hear it while you're moving around the house.3. This is good because the sound quality is significantly compromised at high volumes. The first artist I played was Frank Sanatra, and at high volumes, the big notes get fuzzy. The second group I tried was The Chieftains, a traditional Irish band, and the drums (bass) rattled. At half volume, both of these issues are significantly diminished but not eliminated.Recommendation: If you are looking for absolute fidelity for your favorite songs, this may not be the item for you. However, if you're just looking for a counter-top music player, it's a great deal. (If you want to crank the volume on this machine, be forewarned). I get kind of bummed out when I'm way into a song and I'm distracted by the hiss or the big notes get fuzzy or the bass rattles a little bit, but then I hardly notice it when I'm reading the paper or washing the dishes. Again, my wife thinks the iGroove sounds just fine.

Had this since my first generation Nano and am now using it with a classic and touch. More than enough volume, great sound, great base and turned my iPod into a home stereo. With the Touch and Pandora or AOL radio, it even has streaming radio capabilities. I LOVE IT! Klipsch has twice sent me inserts for the iPods with no charge (great customer service), although they apparently do not have one for the Touch. I have been using the insert for the 30 gig and there is a little wobble, but not bad. The remote is very basic; only volume and skip controls and a pause/off button, but even with the Touch you have to be so close to see what you are navigating that it's just easier to use the iPod. The remote is RF, so it works out of line of sight. With just the dock and sats exposed, it is even discrete (the sub is behind the entertainment center). I would call this one of the better purchases I have ever made, well worth the money.

unlike the other two reviwers of this product I actually own bothe the klipsch and the bose. I think both are speakers are about the same. I have the klipsch in my office and the bose at home. The bose is about twice the price for nowhere near twice the sound, i think the sound is a little richer with the klipsch, so in my view save the money go with the klipsch plus i think the design is better with the klipsch
