If you own an apple ipod or ipod shuffle and want the most out of your ipod, Get these speakers. Blows away all of the competition. The sound quality is amazing. Feels like your in the first row of a concert. Well worth the price. I even use the auxiliary port for my hdtv when i'm not using the ipod. Sounds excellent with the Tv as well. Pick it up today, no regrets here.

I bought this to use in my office at work. The sound is very good, the size is perfect (fits right in, unobtrusive), and the remote is great. I don't play it very loud, but have cranked it up a few times and been pleased with the performance.

After 5 minutes of searching for IPod docks, I was sold. This not only exceeds functional expectations and destroys the usual skepticism, it looks good. I love it. The price was much less than what I'd be willing to pay for a product of this quality. The only issue I have(and it's probably easy to resolve) sometimes I have to turn the power off and back on or the IPod pauses playback to let me know it's charged. After I do that, I have no further interuptions. This Box Rocks!

The sound quality is excellent and so far superior to any of the smalll, portable speaker systems. I am not someone who travels with my ipod so portability is not a concern. The noticeable difference is in the base tones, there is a richness and fullness to the sound that is amazing. The high style design is very pleasing as well. Klipsch makes a great product.

Love my iGroove almost as much as iPod. I only wish that I could control the iPod with the iGroove remote. The only control options are for volume, back/forward, play/pause. It would've been nice to access the menu. Other than that, it provides nice room filling sound in a small footprint.

I bought my first set of Klipsch speakers because I just wanted a sound system. WOW! Was I blown away by their sound! I emailed the company several times because I was stunned by their sound.I bought an video iPod & remembered Klipsch had iFi. I ordered this not knowing what to expect physically, but I knew they'd sound fanatasic regardless. Once they arrived, I was stunned at how heavy the small speakers were, but the woofer was even heavier. But when I connected them, again, STUNNED by the sound they produced from my iPod. WOW!! The highs were high and you could hear every low on those speakers.I bought the first season of 24, what better way to start your video iPod on than with Jack Bauer, Keifer Sutherland, saving America from the ills of the world! But the sound of Jack Bauer running, employees in the background crumpling up paper and throwing it in the trash, can be heard on these speakers. All sorts of side noises you don't normally paid attention to. These speakers have it!!![...]The remote comes in handy, but the range is short depending on how you use it. It's small and can be easily lost. I make sure it has it's own place to live on my desk so I put it back there every time so I don't lose it. This is still minor because the sound on these speakers just kill! I mean it!I for one, will continue to buy Klipsch over any other product because you just can't beat the price for the high quality sound you get in exchange. These speakers are well worth the money!

Yeah, I like it. Its not like my more expensive setups, but its impossible to beat at the price. The remote is lame, and you're in luck if you can get it to do anything it should, but the sound is great. And it doesn't offend the eyes. But why not in black?

I have Altec speakers and the sound quality is good but they interfere with the mobile phone and make a horrible noise when the phone is receiving calls. This one connects both my nano and iriver player via cable (which is included).The player goes off automatically if unused.I am very happy with it!

The Klipsch iFi is everything an audiophile could ask for in a self-powered 2.1 $400 dollar system. Compatibility with the iPod is a merely a bonus!I would like to respond to the previous user's review as it is honorable, but innocently false.I also own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and the Klipsch iFi's, but I'm not sure why the previous user had such a difficult time getting his iFi to sound/image better than his Promedias, so let met male this clear: In no way shape or form is the Promedia 2.1 speaker system even remotely close to the quality, finesse and craftsmanship of the Klipsch iFi. The iFi achieves a far higher level of sound clarity and precision, while being more efficient, effective and exquisite. Klipsch tested the iFi to be almost three times louder at the respective maximum SPL while even maintaining a higher discipline of distortion than the Promedias 2.1's. Yes, three times louder with better sound quality. This does not even put them in the same category. That fact alone can whole heartily explain the price difference between them, but allow me to elaborate even further. The iFi's own RSX-3 satellite speakres provide much more impact and fuller and deeper midrange from a stronger, bigger and more capable aluminum driver. The 2.1's sats use a paper cone driver which is smaller and weaker and is held to the baffle with a cheap foam surround. The iFi employs a better, more elaborate titanium horn loaded tweeter that delivers far more sound with greater accuracy than the cheap plastic ones on the 2.1's. The RSX's are far more sophisticated speakers and deliver a sound that is sonically superior and louder than the proimedia satellites. I'm sorry to undermine the previous reviewer, but he is simply wrong.The subwoofer even divides these two systems further. The 2.1's use a smaller 6.5" woofer with less power in a small enclosure that lacks both depth and proper porting as it emits gobs of port flutter when being pushed hard. The ifi `s subwoofer is a true beast with a full 10Hz lower frequency range, higher SPL, and far less distortion. Please don't get me wrong, the Klispch 2.1's are great speakers and that's exactly why the iFi is also a great system. Because it simply doest just offer the same experience with the addition of an iPod dock for three times the money. It offers you three times the sound quality and, conveniently has an iPod dock. I should also indicate that the remote, while slightly clumsy and small, is the best iPod speaker remote available do to its range.I would not trade four promedia 2.1 sets for my iFi'sHere are pictures so you can clearly see I have both systems. You can also see the size difference of the subwoofer and the quality difference of the speakers.Make no mistake, the iFi's trounce the Promeida 2.1's.(...)Thanks

I would have given this 5 stars because the sound is remarkable. However, I had a problem with the docking on the first one I got and had to get another. That said, the sound is as good as you could possibly imagine with this small system. I actually have tested it against several others of different systems and brands. This is the best.

I have looked at this player and the Bose for several weeks now and decided on this one for several reasons... first the sound quality is very good and I noticed no difference between it and the Bose.... AND it was $100 cheaper than Bose. Also you can plug iPods and MP3 players into it as well as a laptop.... AND it runs video on your iPod which Bose does not... overall I just liked it better and spent the extra $100 on new music :)

When I walked into the Apple Store at Chrsitmastime, I marched to the shelf with full intention of purchasing the Bose system similar to this one. When I asked the clerk to retrieve it from the back, however, he asked me if I was sure of what I wanted. He then pointed to the iGroove that sat next to its Bose counterpart on the display.He entreated me to humor him for a moment for a demonstration, and he did a comparison of each system, with identical songs and volume. I liked the way the Bose system worked when he dropped an iPod into it, yet I was amazed to see the difference when a minute later, he played the iGroove by Klipsch. In comparison, the Bose seemed tinny and hollow. He went on to explain that the technology that went into the iGroove was much newer than the Bose I was looking into.Perhaps by the time I write this review, the technology has changed again, and Bose has come out with something else. Yet, at the time (December 2005), this was the best option.IMPORTANT NOTE:We are very pleased with the sound provided by this little dynamo, as well its portability (I've taken it to work, and even camping in our pop-up). Yet, something funny happens every so often. It causes our iPod to freeze up. Mostly, this happens when I try to rapidly switch songs or playlists while it sits in its cradle, although to be honest, it has happened while just playing once or twice as well. I cannot say if this happens with other systems, as this is the only one we have experience with, but I can say that the iPod only freezes when it is in the dock. So, beware.Even that said, it's still a 4 out of 5.

It's rare to find a product these days that delivers as this one does...Most of the time you end up spending upwards of hundreds of dollars above manufacturing costs, only to be disappointed in the results and relatively poor quality. Fortunately, I bought two when Klipsch was still making them...one here at Amazon, and my second at Costco (where it showed up a few scant weeks later after restock - at $199.00!) The system is easily worth every penny at retail. The only shortcoming is the miniscule remote (but hey!...it works). I suspect Klipsch abandoned them because they were either too high-priced over decidedly-inferior competitors' models, or because of shelving resistance from Apple, who has their own system to market.In addition to the iPod, I use the AUX input on the dock to service home theater audio for my large-screen TV (requires an additional 3.5 mm --> RCA-type Y-cable)

Bought all three, or I guess now it's all four (read on). Best is Bose, close to that is Apple, Klispch has too much static at higher volumes. Apple design is actually faulty, as Bose and Klipsch understand better--the units should be tilted up towards the head instead of at the belly button which is where Apple points its sound (where are your ears?)--so test the Apple tilted up by sticking a VCR tape or book under its front to send the sound up to your ears as the Bose and Klipsch do. To repeat, the Apple sits on your desk and sends the sounds out to your belly button, while the other units are tilted up to send the sounds to your ears. So you should adjust the Apple as their designers didn't. Bose has very good sound, Apple nearly as close. However, Klipsch sends out way too much static/vibration at higher volumes and so it doesn't match up to the Bose or Apple. I also recently reviewed a Logitech 32 travel unit that was pretty good for a traveler who needed something for a hotel, but that was way below the Bose or Apple, although close to this Klipsch.

For quite a while now I've been saving my pennies to get the Bose SoundDock. Well, just before I was getting ready to lay down $300 for the Bose, I thought I would look at what else is on the market that might be equivalent. Most of the products out there look cheesy, and feel very plasticy when you actually see them at the stores. I checked out various customer reviews for this product and the Bose SoundDock. Overwhelmingly, people seemed quite happy with the iGroove. I knew already that Klipsch makes great speakers, and that Bose tend to be overpriced.I have a pair of Bose 501's, and they were a great value at the time (7 years ago), but I thought Bose was ripping people off by taking advantage of the iPod craze that drives people to drop down huge bucks for anything iPod certified, especially with the 1-2 Apple/Bose punch. I decided to go with the Klipsch iGroove.Before buying, I checked prices at Target online (Klipsch doesn't have unilateral pricing like Apple and Bose), and saw I could pick this up new for $240!!!! My mind was made up.I just got the iGroove this week, and love it. Sounds much better than the Bose that I've listened to in the stores; and for the price, this is an unbeatable value (at least for the time being). The bass, natural reproduction of presence and stereo spread are all impressive for speakers of this size. The highs are not not tinny, and the bass is not artificial sounding (most small speakers overdrive the bass and it just sounds muddy). I listen to ambient, trance, electronica, rock, hardcore, and this system has performed beyond expectations on all of these genres. The double-kick drums come through tight on the hardcore selections and the presence is projected well on the more acoustic numbers.It looks better than the SoundDock, is very sturdy and has some mass to it (good for speakers). I have an iPod Mini, and they have a thoughtfully designed cradle adapter, and the player fits in very snuggly. The remote works great, and looks better than the Bose remote.Do not waste your time or money with the SoundDock (sorry Dr. Bose).

I purchased this unit shortly before last Christmas. Initially the unit worked fine and the sound was acceptable. Within a month the unit would play the i-pod but there would be no sound coming out of the speakers. When I visited the Klipsch website to see about warranty information I saw numerous complaints about the same problem. Apparently there is an undisclosed defect with this model.(Just check to see how many refurbished units they have for sale on the web) I still have not heard back from Klipsch regarding fixing or replacing the unit.Since I have little or no hope of hearing back from Klipsch, I have purchased the Bose unit and want to tell you that it blows the Klipsch unit away in the sound department. Bose knows what they are doing when it comes producing big sounds from small spaces.Hope this helps.

These speakers are the m-fing bomb, man. I did a lot of research on what home speakers to buy for my pretty little new iPod Video, and I am not disappointed. I'm sad these are discontinued, because the sound is really top-notch.Whether at low volume or high, the sound is crisp and full-bodied. I haven't been able to turn it all the way up... I think my ear drums would crack.I love love love these speakers. And they were very easy to put together. Yes, they're a bit heavy, but really, who cares? They're quality speakers. Just don't expect to take them to the beach or something.

Since I got my iPod, I already had a moist eye on the Bose Sound Dock. That was back in October 2005. I kept going back to Curry's or searching through the internet absorbing all the technical reviews. So when I went to the Apple store in Regent, I was already decided. Bose was it and it was already September 2006.Lo and behold, I saw Klipsch iGroove and remembering the reviews I read about Bose Sound Dock and Klipsch iFi, hesitated on getting the Bose. Stayed in the Apple store for about an hour trying to decide what to buy. By mentally going through my own checklist, and having heard the sound coming from both systems playing identical songs (Techno, jazz, and metal), I was instantly hooked on the iGroove.Not only does Klipsch sounded better (Klipsch is clearer and crispier, with the instruments sounding so much better than Bose), it is 50 pounds cheaper than Bose.For those looking for an iPod sound system, Klipsch iGroove is it. You can even connect your PC's output jacks via the J-cup. You can also play other MP-3 players though remote control won't work.Klipsch iGroove, for me, is just so much better.

To say that these are the best sounding speakers for your iPod OR for your computer just doesn't seem like enough to explain how truly magnificient this system is. I have been shopping for a new 2.1 speaker system for my computer for about 6 months. I've listened to all of the Altec Lansings, Creative, JBL, etc, etc, etc, that I could find. Nothing blew me away. I wanted a setup that would just scream. I even listened to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system. That was about the best of the bunch. But it's black. Everything on my desk is silver. It would stick out like a sore thumb. And it only had a 6" sub. I really wanted an 8" sub. So the hunt continued.I saw this product online a few times, and was really interested in hearing them, but I could never find it on display in any stores. And at $400, it was sort of out of my price range. But then I saw them at Costco. I won't tell you how much they were, but it was definitely a deal. What was there to lose? I bought them, brought them home, set them up...... and the rest is history.These things sound phenominal! Go ahead, turn them up as loud as you want. They won't distort, they won't pop or crack, they definitely won't blow out. They are crystal clear, and just like I wanted, they scream. If anything, you'll re-rip all of your music at an even higher bit rate because they sound so good.I've tested them with Andrea Bocelli and I thought he was in the room with me. I tested out The Black Crows and could not help but sing along. I tested out Jamiroquai and had to dance. Had to. I hate dancing but I couldn't help it. I played them for my wife later and I even danced with her. She was sold. Classical, Jazz, Metal, New Age, Techno, it all sounds great. I am totally and thoroughly impressed.Klipsch has long been known to make some of the world's best speakers. Now Klipsch is the digital world's best friend.

you might consider me a bit of a fanatic when it comes to ipods and sound systems made for the pod. i started with a 5 gig 2g ipod and harmon kardon soundsticks. i now have the ifi, igroove, jbl invaders, ihome, specktone, soundsticks, airtunes, itrip, wireless dock among other devices and 4 ipods, 10 gig 2g ipod, 15 gig 3g ipod, 4gig 1g nano, 1 gig 2g shuffle, and my children each have a pair of ipods and my wife has a 1g shuffle. Nuff said.the ifi is hands down the best. it is rich, and full, cranks without distortion, and while i would not categorize it as stunningly designed, it does not embarass a room. when it comes to sound, this is my main source, period. you will not be disappointed, only in that you waited too long to buy one.

I actually bought this system directly from Klipsch's website. They had a special offer ($150) for this model because there is a newer model available. This model is FANTASTIC for the price, and comparing the specs between the old and the new models, there doesn't seem to be much difference besides the color (silver vs. black). This system has the 30 pin connector for the IPod, as well as a 3.5mm jack for output from any other portable device, such as my portable XM satellite radio. The newer model comes with some additional piece to use the 3.5mm jack -- but it's not necessary.... a 3.5mm male-male wire can be bought anywhere for less than $10. Definitely a good buy -- you're buying quality, not just a trendy well-known name.

the Klipsch igroove can go toe to toe with the more expensive bose sound wave all day long. I researched dockable ipod / mp3 players for a few months before I decided on this one for my wife's office.I'm fussy when it comes to quality audio equipment, the I-grove does not disappoint. It provides room filling sound with no distorion.I listened to it extensively before wrapping it up for xmas to make sure it had the quality I insist on. It delivered.Another bonus with the Klipsch is it's ability to accomodate other mp3 players and / or personal compact disc players.I'm completely satisfied with my purchase of the Klipsch i-Groove.

OK, I'm no audiophile but my amateur opinion is that these speakers sound really great- as good as my $800 Quart speakers. My son, whose hearing is better than mine, claims the sound is comparable to a very good set of Sony earbuds. We have plugged in three different ipods, a CD and a computer- all sound great. Are they worth the price? That's hard to say. The only one who does not like the Klipsch iFi is the UPS guy. The woofer is extrordinarily HEAVY. Really heavy. Do not buy these speakers if you ever need to move them.

I'm a ballroom/latin/country dance DJ. This is the absolute BEST speaker system for your iPod PERIOD. All my dancers LOVE the loud, clear sound and are amazed at the small size. My dance teachers heard it and immediately bought one of their own. Beats lugging my large speakers, speaker stands, mixer, cables, etc. for rooms up to 40X60 feet with 50+ people talking and dancing. KLIPSCH is known worldwide for realistic sound reproduction. I wouldn't own any other system. I actually bought 2. The second is in my living room at home. Treat yourself to the best.

I have owned Klipsch Reference Series speakers for ten years and they still sound as good as any speakers I have heard. I bought the iGroove expecting the same quality and was not disappointed. The quality of sound is amazing for such a small unit. The highs and mid range are crystal clear but the bass is lacking a little. If bass is a must, you might want to spend a little more for a unit with a subwoofer. You may also find yourself fooling with the equalizer on your iPod if you listen to a wide variety of music. This is more a limitation of digital music than a problem with the iGroove.The unit could not be any easier to set up and use. The remote is easy to use and small enough to fit in most pockets. One minor inconvenience is the way the nano fits in the dock. It is not very secure and wobbles when you try to use the click wheel.Overall, the iGroove is a great product for someone who wants a portable speaker system with great sound. A speaker system with a subwoofer may be better if you intend to leave it in one room. If my previous experience with Klipsch is an indication, the iGroove should provide great music for many years.

I design consumer audio professionally. I bought the iGroove for premium sound in my bedroom, to listen to while my girl and I are getting it on. This system sounds terrible with my iPod. I tried a variety of different music. The differen levels are all garbled, there's no crispness at all, no distinction. The bass is fuzzy even at medium volume levels, forget about high volume, it sounds awful. The remote is oversized and shaped oddly, it's curved and doesn't sit flat. I am going try and return it. Really not a high end stereo at all. I'm going to try something else.

..to the Bose Soundock.I have been interested in audio equipment since the early 1980s and consider that I am relatively discerning about sound quality though I would be reluctant to describe myself as 'audiophile'.I bought a Soundock without an audition on the basis of generally strong reviews. I lived with it for several weeks and was indescribably disappointed with the sound.I brought it back to the local distributor and explained what I thought wrong with the sound. We played some music together and was assured that is the way they sound. To their profound credit, they accepted and understood the reasons for my disatisfaction and gave me a refund.Essentially, the Soundock has little if any frequency response above 5khz, with pronounced overemphasis in the midrange, and an extremely congested sound with no stereo imagery what so ever.I can see why the Soundock is popular, it gets loud and appears to have loads of bass. But anyone who is accustomed to what used to be known as 'hi fi' would not find any gratification at all in the Bose.I then decided to give the iGroove a listen, ended up buying it on the spot and have lived with it since. A month later I am considering buying a few more for other locations around my home.Anyone interested in stereo as long as I have would probably know the relative reputations of Bose and Klipsch twenty or thirty years ago. The same holds true today!

Klipsch iGroove vs. Bose SoundDock (Bose wins)I would give Klipsch 5 stars except for 1 major drawback described below. I bought the iGroove and SoundDock with intention of returning the lesser-sounding one. Here's what I found:General:- Both sound great.- Both remotes have same features.- Both charge the iPod.- EQ settings on iPod really affect sound of both (keep this in mind if comparing).- As a room gets smaller the Bose improves (i.e. Bose probably sounds better at home than at store).- Klipsch is crisper; Bose is richer.- Klipsch is sturdier; Bose is smaller.- Both lack good bass thump (hey, they're very small units!)Navigating playlists/albums/artists with clickwheel:- Klipsch: unit holds the iPod very firmly; navigate 1-handed.- Bose: must hold iPod with 1 hand, use other for click-wheel.Major drawbacks:- Bose: NO AUX IN to allow use of non-iPod devices.- Klipsch: MUST REMOVE iPod from case to fit into cradle.NOTE: My iPod has a Speck "Skin Tight" rubberized case for protection. Girlfriend has Incase Leather sleeve. Both cases make the iPod too wide to fit into the Klipsch cradle. This is very disappointing, because I prefer the Klipsch sound a little more than the Bose. But, to remove our iPods from their cases everytime we use these speakers is too much of a nuisance.CAVEAT: Klipsch provides a cradle adapter that would let us use iPods with cases... but, it connects via headphone jack and consequently WOULD NOT CHARGE the iPods. BTW: This adpater lets you connect any device via the headphone jack.CONCLUSION: I like the sound of Klipsch better. But, I am keeping the Bose and returning the Klipsch because the Klipsch will not recharge my iPod while in its case. BOSE WINS.

I bought it from Costco. What a great value to have a sound quality like this.The reason I bought the speakers began from seeking the satellite radio music which supposed to provide me continuous quality music background, and also try to find a dock for my iPOD Nano. After I got disappointed with the sound quality of current available radio receivers (even the top digital output receiver) because of the poor sound quality from the satellite source, it ends up listening to the on-line radio (64K) with Creative 24 bit notebook sound card and the iFi speaker.This is an ideal set of speakers for my second system to produce natural quality sound although it depends on the various music sources like CD, mp3 and radio. I am very pleased with it's performance. The high and low frequency are not exaggerated but more natural of room full-filled mid tone compared to most PC speakers. It could reflect the highs and lows of the music very easily. I am totally satisfied with it in such price. The only thing I am getting concerned about is that would the iPod Nano be overcharged if it stays in the dock after displaying recharged for a long time. I am still not sure if the dock itself or the Nano has its own protective measure.

I purchased two of these systems for my daughters and they both are very pleased. The sound from such a small unit is amazing, its easy to use, and looks good. I am very pleased with the quality and the price and would highly recommend this product.

I wanted to use my ipod mainly for a home stereo so I wanted something better than an overpriced computer speakers made by Altec and companies like such. It seems like everybody's gravitating toward either Bose or Klipsch so I went to the Apple store to see which one's better. Now, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the sound quality. I know when it's loud and not loud, pretty much. But even I could tell that Klipsch had much more clear sound. I'd say the bass sound is pretty much the same as Bose. The salesman played Barry White on both Klipsch and Bose. While the bass sounds were both great, Klipsch certainly had a much better treble according to my wife. I'd like to use the term "muddy" describing the Bose sound. Costco sells this thing for $225. So that's about $70 cheaper than Bose. No brainer here.

I got my ifi in March and I am impressed. Good sound, LOTS of bass with the adjustable subwoofer. I've never found the remote to be difficult or strange. The one big drawback for ipods so far is the lack of a remote that shows the ipod screen to navigate from afar. Right now i use a long cable from ipod to ifi so I can roam with the ipod and still use the ifi. That's as good as I get.It charges my ipods alot faster than my wall charger or computer too.

I researched for months before I purchased these speakers and I am so happy that I bought them. They fill up a room with ease which the BOSE soundock cant do. I think most people buy the BOSE just for its name even though the quality of those speakers are pretty crapy especially for its price. I got these speakers from Costco for $200 a couple of weeks ago. There was one box left which I think they found in the back or something because they havent carried these speakers for a while. If you are considering purchasing these speakers I recommend you do it. You wont be dissapointed.

Tuve el placer de escuchar el Hifi de Apple, el Onstage de JBL (muy bueno pero carece de control remoto), el BOSE y el Klipsh IGroove.Termine comprando el IGroove.Definitivamente el mejor entre los anteriormente nombrados.Ahora bien, tiempo despues, vi el Klipsh IFI por internet.Me llamo la atencion por que tiene Subwoofer.Siempre me ha gustado el toque que le da el subwoofer a la musica, de manera pues que no me pude aguantar y lo compre.Este es definititivamente el mejor de los mejores.La calidad del sonido es espectacular.Si tienen el dinero y el espacio (es mas grande que los anteriormente nombrados) no les quepa la menor duda de que este es el mejor equipo que le puedes colocar a tu IPOD.Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

I purchased this about a month ago and have been very pleased with this in every way. The unit is small enough that it is fairly easy to take to another room (it is actually smaller than the CD boom box it replaced), but the sound is amazing.I still haven't turned this up to full volume as it has so much power. It easily fills my upstairs with great sound (about 1100 sq ft)! The remote is a nice feature, and one that I have used several times.My only change, would be for them to ad radio capability to it. Other than that, this is perfect.For what it's worth, I went to the store a couple of days after using this to listen to the Bose model, and while I realize this is personal preference, I strongly prefer the Klipsch sound to the bose. It is much richer, and clearer in my opinion.

I'm very pleased with this product in every respect...except one: The center dock for the iPod (I have a 20 Gb) fails to effectively buffer the considerable vibration from the integrated speaker system (which is itself rock solid, and devoid of distortion even at high volume). The vibration of the iPod in the dock, however, sometimes leads to very noticeable interference in the purity of the delivered sound, especially where there are heavy basses. The unit comes with a "J-Cup" (to accommodate non-iPod mp3 players), and using it appears to help eliminate this "problem," but there's a catch....the remote control becomes useless, the iPod won't charge, and volume range appears to be much more limited. I'm not sure how sensitive iPods are to vibration at these levels, but it makes me a bit uncomfortable, and I'm considering returning and replacing this unit with the iFi model, where the docking port is independent of the speaker cabinetry.

I own a Creative M Vision, as I prefer Creative Lab products over I-Pods. The one problem I have had is the lack of accessories compared to I-Pods. No problem any longer as this works great with my MP3. Sound is crisper than the Bose Sounddock and for $100 less, you cannot go wrong. The "J-Cup" adapter that comes with this makes it compatible with other MP3 players. Only problem is the remote change song < > buttons do not work, probably will only work with I-Pods. I am still very happy with my purchase.

I've been a Klipsch fan since I can remember and have grown to trust their product year after year. I don't care whether it is reference or synergy, high end or low, the consistency in which Klipsch carries with its products is amazing...not to mention I finally get an electronic device that is designed and constructed in the United States...that's hard to find...but enough about that...I've been seeing the adds and reading about the iGroove in magazines and on-line and was waiting for months for this to arrive...welp, I finally have one and could not be more impressed...granted, it does not run on batteries, but, if it did, those batteries wouldn't last very long considering that the iGroove is charging the iPod while playing it...and its flexibility with other mp3 players makes it truly universal...but for those iPod owners out there like myself, you are the lucky one because the remote works seemlessly with the iPod while connected to the iGroove...for those who choose to buy this item without owning an iPod, just disregard the remote...it does come with two adaptors, one for the iPod mini, and one for non-iPod mp3 players...Klipsch definitely did not let me down...the sound quality is amazing whether the volume low or high, lacking distortion in any sense of the word...this does have a great range as far as low to high frequency, something Bose consistently struggles with...this sure made me happy, and it is sure to make others...Since I am an iPod owner, i rate this a 5, if I wasn't, it would be a 4 considering the remote is useless for non iPod mp3 players...

Why is it that most iPod accessories are so expensive and sound so crappy? I am happy to report that this product does NOT fall into that category. Setup time was about 2 minutes and the sound approaches that of my $300 JVC boombox. I too compared this item to Bose and the Apple HiFi boombox and to my ears, this one sounded the best, though in all fairness they all sound great. It took a bit of tinkering with my iPod's EQ settings to get this to sound optimal, but after getting it right I couldn't be happier.I listen to a variety of music and this unit reproduces them all beautifully - from electronica to classical to show tunes to rock and roll - with clear highs and a very pleasant (not overpowering) bass response. One word of warning, I can REALLY hear the difference between music files with too much compression (which i downloaded) and those I ripped from my own cds at a higher quality setting. The low quality files sound terrible.My only wish is that this had a sleep timer. It'd be nice to 'shuffle' off into lala land at night.

These are only some of the words that come to mind when I think about my IFI system. I can honestly say that this system has made me a very audio-jaded person. I have not come across another product, system, car-system, stereo, speaker-set, ANYTHING that has come even remotely close to the sound that the IFI produces. For those who feel that Im just typing a praise-worthy review just because, I can truly say that I would have paid more that $450.00+ I paid for mine. ITS THAT DAMN GOOD. The stereo system that I own now is very good. It produces sound as if your in the recording studio with the artist while the track was being made. Howver, IFI out-sounds that. All those instruments that you miss, or just never knew were there, IFI gives it to you with FULL-FORCE. The bass is just excellent. This is not a "boomy" system. Bass is provided as an instrument, not a sound effect.The only con I have is with the remote control. Although it works around corners and from far distances, its a bit to small to me (im constantly misplacing it because it works from so far away). Also like many have said to which I agree, you cant adjust the subwoofer with the remote. But I can live with all of this because when it plays, Im not thinking about a remote or bass-convenience.

Well, no...but I enjoy this damn thing. The subwoofer sends tremors through the house. The speakers produce great-quality sound. I can stick the iPod A/V cable into the TV, and into said iPod, and watch iPodded movies and TV shows with loud, thunderous explosions. It doesn't take up an undue amount of space...the subwoofer is about the size of a basketball, assuming of course that the basketball was square, weighed about 40 pounds, and made noise.
