Ужасно

I have a small form computer so that's the reason I bought this adapter. Well it came with a small form bracket but it didn't line up with the holes on the card, making the adapter useless for me! Total waste.

It's an Intel NIC, what else can you say? Stable drivers, supported on any platform out there and it comes with a half hight bracket.I used it as a second NIC in a custom X86 based router for a captive portal WiFi deployment. Worked perfectly with the Linux 2.2 kernel.

After installing this NIC I discovered that it was intermittent. It kept dropping the connection. I thought at first that it was a bad cable, but after swapping several (with changing symptoms every time) I was really confused.The problem finally turned out to be the contacts of the RJ45 connecter weren't making a consistent connection. It took all of 3 minutes to pull the card out and carefully bend the connector wires further into the RJ45 so they made up reliably. End of problem.I like these NICs. I've replaced the on-board Realteks with these on most of my machines, and this is the first one I've had any kind of issue, and it was easily fixed.

The network adapter would probably be ok if the vendor would have provided software to operate the hardware. Sure one can get drivers off of the net but if one needs the card to get on the net and no drivers are provided it is about as useless as a brick. Thank you Amazon for recognizing my dillema and refunding my money

There was a lot of hype going around about these Intel NICs and home built NAS devices. I wasn't too impressed. I have a laptop and a desktop attached to my server running FreeNAS. My copy speeds were at +100MB/s to both devices, but when I installed this NIC into my server thinking it would do the same or better than the onboard NIC, I was wrong. Speeds decreased by half. I went back to the onboard, but I might eventually have a use for it in the future.

Ordered this network card because mine went out. No software came with it. When I installed it, the message said go online for the software. How can you go online when you don't have a network connection. Called for software. They said none came with it.

This overpriced adapter arrived without a disc with drivers or anything else.Even after using the ones available on Intel's site this item would not work....so, I returned it,dropped my purchasing price and got one from StarTech (plug and play) and now my computer no longer has a problem--although Intel does.

Installed in Inspiron 530S. Comes with half height adapter. Little strange attachment-bend hooks over but it works. Gave me faster internet than built in 10/100 adapter. And Intel NICs are the best.

On my computer, this card performs about 25% quicker than the card that decided to quit working at gig speed. No problems since installing, would recommend this card.

First, this particular Amazon supplier ships the card 'bare' including an additional half-height bracket for low profile cases. But you won't need anything else to get this card running.This card was entirely plug-and-play for me in my Windows 7 64bit system with 4 Gb ram -- I disabled the on-the-motherboard network adapter in my BIOS at bootup, and Windows found and installed drivers for this card automatically -- in a minute I was downloading email through my network.I wish we had more information from the few reviewers who had issues with Windows 7 drivers in 2010 -- the driver Windows automatically installed sucessfully for me was dated 2008. Perhaps, as one reviewer noted, there is an issue with certain motherboard chipsets. There is an issue with Windows 7 64-bit systems with more than 4Gb ram installed with various devices and drivers.Anyway this card worked great for me and roughly doubled the download speed I was getting from my poor integrated lan adapter.

I run windows 7. Took me about 3 hours of fiddling around with drivers, to finally get it to recognize. Since then 100% up time so cant complain too much.

thankfully I have been using it for over 2 months (I think lol) and to this day it has worked perfectly. I am using an AMD processor and being that this item is labelled as INTEL it works fine. Only mentioning this to those who may not know it'll will still work as long as you have the correct port for it. I've bridged my connections with the one on my motherboard and this one and I'm in love with how much faster everything loads. As far as providing an individual review on how it works I can't say, but Its been working great for me because it continues to work as a bridged connection. The packaging that it came in was BASIC lol, no labels, names, brands box, just the plastic hard cover and well the item itself of course.

This card Intel PWLA8391GT PRO/1000 GT PCI Network Adapter was dead on arrival. Very irritating, but it happens. Pitched it in the trash. Now I have to figure out a suitable alternative and hope for better results.

I had a few PRO/1000GT NICs in computers running Athlon64 processors on motherboards with 4GB-8GB RAM. Worked perfectly in Windows XP 64 and Solaris 10 / Opensolaris. These machines recently received an upgrade to Windows 7 x64, and the NICs stopped working. They would show up in the Windows device manager, and the link lights worked fine when connected to a switch, but no packets ever hit the wire. Hence, no IP address assigned by the router, and even when given a static address no data would be sent out or received. (This was all verified by wireshark.) During one test, I decided to cut the machine down from 4GB to 2GB RAM, and the NIC worked like a charm. Going back up to 4GB killed the connection again, so it definitely points to a driver issue on Intel's part.Given that Intel does not plan to update the drivers for this card (or most of their other PCI-interface NICs) on Windows 7, I would avoid purchasing this card and go for something that is a bit more futureproof.Overall: 3 stars. It works on many platforms, and is great when it does, but has a major issue with Windows 7 x64 in an increasingly popular configuration.------------------Edit: After some more investigation, I believe it's a motherboard driver issue with the systems I had. The systems in question had nVidia Geforce 6150 / nForce430 (MCP51) chipsets. I recently tried out the NIC in a machine with an AMD 785 / SB710 chipset on Windows 7 x64 and 4GB RAM, and it worked without any hassle. So bumping up to 4 stars. Would be 5 stars if compatibility was perfect, though I can't really tell if it's Intel or nVidia is at fault.

This NIC was a breeze to install and the drivers I downloaded prior to installing the NIC installed without a hitch. It seems to be a fine NIC and if you're like me and still running an older PC but want higher network speeds, this NIC is a good starting point.

Installed this pci network card and has been streaming for 2 days now.the pci card came with a install CD; Hardware/Software were a breeze and I'm no engineer...Just followed the instructions(simple) 0n the readme/owners manual and install was perfectinstalled in a dual-boot pc with XP Pro/Win7 UltimateUpdated the xp driver @ INTEL and Win7 had its own driver.Will update this review in a month or so but all is well nowIntel Rocks...!Amazon Rocks...!

Used this NIC in a Vyatta box I just built - couldn't be happier. The OS recognized the NIC right away, and it performs with incredibly high efficiency. Not much to say about a product that 'just works.'The simple fact is that when computer components like this are working, you won't know they're doing anything at all. I give this NIC high marks for it's build quality and optional low profile adapter bundled with the card.It works marvelously - buy this nic!

In contrast to the typical Realtek-based boards (or on-board chipsets), this one will actually achieve reasonable GigE speeds. Works like a charm on FreeBSD and Ubuntu.

I purchased this card for an old computer I constructed in 2000, which originally had no network card, just a dialup modem. Additionally, this computer is running the Haiku operating system (a newer implementation of the old BeOS), so I was not certain that the operating system would get along with the card.I need not have been concerned. I installed the card into an empty PCI slot, and booted Haiku. Haiku recognized the card and immediately connected. I was online in moments, with no drivers or configuration required.The card also comes with a disc of drivers for Windows, and from the comments of other users, I'm confident that if it works so well for everyone else, it will work for me should I choose to run Windows on this machine.

Intel PWLA8391GT PRO/1000 GT PCI Network AdapterDon't buy this card - it is garbage and there is no support for problems anywhere!!I bought 3 of them -one for an intel machine and 2 for amd machines. The cards work in the the amd machine but you cannot enter your cmos setup unless you take the card completely out. I have spent hours trying to get a solution to this problem, hours of working through all the useless junk that has become the internet. Even the intel site acts likes there is not a problem - they offer up some junk they call drivers but downloading it was a waste of time. The card works well in an intel machine but I only like amd machines if I have a choice. I finally bought some new cards and just tossed the intel ones in the garbage - didn't even put them in the recycling bin.

I needed a gig NIC as the integrated Realtek chip did not play well with ESXi. The Intel was one of the NICs that was recommended, and it had glowing reviews. It was installed, and Vmware took it from there. I have two of these now and both are performing just fine. I would not hesitate to purchase another if the need arose. Just a good quality product at a reasonable price.

I purchased this NIC to use as a second card in a firewall built on pfSense. I chose this card because it was on the FreeBSD compatibility list and it was inexpensive. pfSense recognized the card immediately and already had the drivers for it. It supports VLANs as well. I have nothing bad to say.

Literally plug and play. Plugged it into a PCI slot, hooked the network cable and once the PC started Windows 7 64 detected the new hardware and installed the required drivers (did not need to use the companion CD). Without any additional fine tuning I now have a gigabit link between the PC and the home router, which does make a difference in the overall network performance.

Lightning killed the integrated Intel Pro 100M NIC on my wife's 2003 vintage Dell Dimension XPS. I ordered this Intel card because of all of the good reviews. I ordered the card at 5:16 A.M. Thursday and Fedex delivered it to my door at 5:30 P.M. Friday, the next day. Ten minutes later I was up and running at high speed. Thanks to the good advice I received from the good folks at Virtual Dr tech forums I had a plan of action. I disabled the integrated card in the BIOs, then I shut down and installed the new Intel card in the bottom most open PCI slot, then I booted up and when Windows detected the new hardware I put in the software disc that came with the card. Viola, I was up and running. It couldn't have been easier. The card works great.

[...]I have struggled with VMware ESXi installation. I have AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor with ASUS cross-hair motherboard. The built-in LAN card doesn't supported by VMware. I also tried with the D Link Gigabyte Ethernet card and No luck.Finally in Amazon I found the Intel Gigabyte Ethernet adapter and from the review I found its working fine with VMware ESX/ESXi. Once I receive the order I inserted my new LAN adapter and started installing VMware ESXi and completed the installation without any issue. I strongly recommend this product for those planning to go for VMware ESX/ESXi Operating System. Best price as well.Krishna
