Fantastic Product. Included Cloning software and especially Intel SSD Toolbox are worth a third of the (premium) cost of the drive. I own a Intel 120GB SATA 3GB SSD, and two 240GB Cherryville 520 series Intel SSDs. I used to be a loyal Intel SSD customer.Problem is Intel Rebates welches. They look for any technicality to not pay, even though I met all requirements.We're still in dispute, but now I must deal with Intel themselves because Intel rebates won't pay my eligible claim. Intel is not moving quickly enough to resolve.Bottom line it was definitely not worth purchasing, and unfortunately because of the experience I will never purchase another Intel SSD.It was supposed to be a promotion and Intel Rebates wound up screwing a loyal Intel customer - Nice Business Model, Intel! Now your reputation is tarnished.Most recently (today) I Just purchased a Sandisk Extreme SSD (240GB / SATA 6GB) Way to go Intel; Way to Keep a (formerly loyal) Customer.

I also went with that because the 240gb was way to much money but I went with this to put a few games on it such as diablo 3 and sc2.What's in the box?The SSD, Sata data, power cable, software, instruction manual, and a sticker yay!Pros: Super fast, reliable, 5 year warranty! Firmware updates by downloading intel ssd toolbox from their website. No switching drives to secondary unlike ocz agility 3!Cons: None so far. 2 month ownage.Never will I turn from Intel. They have been good to me. It's been almost one week past after i bought this ssd, and unfortunately it freezes almost every time i turn on my computer. I use a 2009 Macbook Pro, and i have the latest firmware but still doesn't prevent to freeze my computer.Right now, i really can't decide whether i should return it or keep it, i think i'm going to wait little bit more, maybe another firmware might fix the issue.besides this issue, it's really fast. I can turn on my computer under 20 secs but once it freezes, it takes 20-30 seconds until i can use the computer back.I'll update my short review in a couple of weeks...short update: while i was writing this, it froze again, what an ironic product :)---------Update as of 4/7/12: unfortunately i returned the item back to amazon. as i said, it's really fast when it works properly.after i realized freezing issues, i read a lot about this particular ssd, and i figured out that my mbp and this model doesn't seems to "fit" each other.the freezing issue has something to do with efi firmware 1.7, if you downgrade to 1.6 most of the people says "freezing is completely gone". and thanks to A. Goodman for the link, it was really helpful to determine the issue.@Murat: hocam burada turkce yazismak pek uygun dusmez, bana bir sekilde ulasin, daha fazla yardimci olmaya calisirim.

I bought this drive to install and point all of my Cache folders to. Espeacially Adobe After Effects CS6. I have it set to use 100gb of space. it works awesome. While Im working on a project things seem to run very smooth and quiet. When I had my Cache point to a spare internal hard disk, it was very loud and crunchy every time i made a mouse click or scrubbed through an AE project. This is wayyyyy better. Works the same way for Photoshop scratch disc and Cinema 4D Cache. I now dream that someday computers will be filled with many Terabytes of SSD.... at an affordable price.If you have an extra spot to install another drive, and you use graphics software, you know what to do.

Installing this drive is so easy. Just make sure to go into your BIOS and select AHCI mode and then install or migrate your OS(operating system). There are alot of Install guides for SSD's on the Web so make sure to google if you run into any issues. Can't say enough good things about this drive/manufacturer.

I had a 120 GB Intel 520 SSD, and was nearly full. Decided to buy this 240 GB, and use the two drives together, rather than buying the more expenseive 480 GB SSD, and selling the 120 GB. The drive is fast, silent, and the maintenance software works great.

My PC runs better then the day I got it. Unbelievable how fast it is!Tired of the one to three minutes of booting and getting to your programs? My Dell PC now takes less than 30 seconds from start button to work programs I select. I'm extremely happy with the upgrade....

Drive went right into the place my old HDD went in my 13" 2009 MacBook. I had made a boot disk on a flash drive to do a clean install of Mountain Lion. Worked like a charm. Still a little confused about the necessity of Trim. Found this and turned it on, just in case. [...]All in all, no problems. Great drive. I would buy another one.gm

I replaced my older HDD with Intel 520 Series SSD on my Lenovo Thinkpad W500 and it improved the performance dramatically eventhough the machine has SATA II interface not 6-Gb/s SATA.The only downside that the purchase does not give to option to select the desktop migration kit or labtop migration kit.

I like the price and the speed of this hard drive, the only cons i have on this hard drive is that is not reliable on sleep mode,also the migration software is useless did not let me copy the c:drive it wants to pick the entire disk 1tbthe only reason i give 4 stars is for the seller great price and shipping

I have a desktop setup (i7 920 2.7ghz, 12gb ram, 1tb hd), and I'd heard how fast SSDs made your computer. I'd been on the fence about upgrading, having read some reviews about failure rates, DOA products, etc. I came across a few articles talking about Intel's quality being worth it even though the SSD by them was more expensive. I decided to try the 520 240 gb reseller kit (reseller kit comes with the hardware to mount onto a desktop).I'm amazed by how quickly Windows 7 boots up! I went with a fresh install, and kept my old traditonal hard drive as a secondary internal hard drive. I only have the OS and a few Steam games installed on the SSD. I've noticed faster load times for the games plus massive speed increases in general OS operations.The only downside is all the windows updates with a fresh install...took forever, but now that it's up and running I love the SSD.

I purchased this SSD after scrutinizing reviews on SSD's at a few well known sites. I really feel like at the end of the day the most important thing is just to have an SSD, not necessarily to purchase the fastest one in benchmarks. I just don't feel like the translation into real world performance is really there.The reason I went with the Intel 520 is because (no order):1) It's a super fast SSD (although as I've said I don't think this is the most important thing.)2) It's well priced when compared to other SSD's of it's size and speed.3) Intel..... Great warranty, great support, known to build solid products.I'm quite happy with this drive. My motherboard doesn't support SATA 6, so after benchmarking it myself I did see that it didn't quite live up to the performance levels you see in the online benchmarks. Clearly to get the best performance you need SATA 6 as SATA 3 is getting saturated by this drive.Windows boots up and is ready to go in about the same time you'd expect any SSD of this caliber to be able to do. Once I get past the BIOS POST screens, my computer boots and is ready to use in less than 60 seconds.Overall I'd absolutely recommend this drive to friends/family.

As part of a computer upgrade, I decided to do a clean install of Windows 7 Professional on the Intel 520 Series SSD. It was like entering a new era of PC enjoyment for me. The install and set-up of the drive was simple, and now my computer does things in seconds that used to take what seemed like forever. A highly recommended upgrade.

These drives have improved the performance and lowered the heat output significantly for my elitebook. I would highly recommend going ssd, even small just for an OS drive, from now on it is that much better.

I bought this drive in July 2011. I had heard about the firmware bug that caused the drive to fail in certain situations. So I quickly installed the firmware update that was supposed to fix the problem (4PC10362). Then yesterday (Aug 2012) my laptop would no longer boot. There had been no "power cycle" - there were no power outages that day, and, in any case, the laptop has its own battery. Nevertheless, the drive now shows up as a 8MB drive. I used the Intel SSD Toolbox to perform a secure erase and it is now showing up again as a 160GB drive (minus all the data). I am currently trying to restore the system and data from a backup image (fingers crossed). However, I would stay away from this drive - the problem has not been fixed by the latest firmware!

Bought this a couple months ago to replace a 128 GB Samsung Sata 2 SSD. Dropped it in - formatted and installed Windows 7 - and it's been running like a champ ever since. I'm a developer - so I have quite a few web servers/databases/ other services running on it pretty much 24/7 AND i keep installing uninstalling stuff on a regular basis. It has taken everything that I can throw it without breaking stride.If you are on the market for an SSD - you cant go wrong with this.P.S. My samsung SSDs are going strong too. So if you are looking for a sata 3 ssd - both the samsung 830 or the intel 520 are great choices with very little to separate them. You cant go wrong with either.Update 12/2012 - Well - it has been nearly 9 months now. I've reformatted the disk and installed Windows 8. It's still performing marvelously. I've installed the intel SSD optimizer and run it on a regular basis. This one is going to be a keeper.

In the box, you get:* a 2.5"-to-3.5" adapter tray, 10 screws (4 to mount the drive to the adapter plate plus 1 extra, and 4 to mount the plate to the 3.5" bay plus 1 extra)* foxconn sata cable (red)* power converter plug* silicon protective sleeve (yes, for use as an external hard drive)* SATA-to-USB adapter cable (similar to this: 2.5 inch SATA Hard Drive to USB 2.0 Adapter Cable with Silicon Protective Case )I ordered a pair of sata cables and an adapter plate; as it turns out, I didn't need to order either of those things separately. NOTE: the package I described was the Intel 320 Series 80 GB SATA 3.0 Gb-s. I can't confirm the packaging for other drive sizes.I just received the drive today, and only just finished installing windows on it (Win7 Pro). As other reviewers have said, boot time is fast (roughly 10 seconds from post) and WOW is this machine quiet now! Read the reviews here, at NewEgg and Tom's Hardware. The 320 seems to be the fan favorite, and in the short time I've had it, it has failed to disappoint!Now, if I can just get past that point in time where all the 1-star reviews noticed the BSOD. Wish me luck!
