Fast and easy to use software online to clone you're old hard drive worked perfectly on Win 7 Ultimate and Pro. Boot timeis less then 15 seconds Gigabyte P67 MB I7 2600K. I'm glad I made the move solid state and Intel is the way to go.Bench marks were not as high in some cases as advertised but the read and writes were very good scores. This SSD also doubled my Passmark bench score to over 5100. Great Intel technology at work!

I have one of these in 128GB, 240GB, and now 480GB. I'd been putting off SSD for years thinking the technology wasn't there yet, but when Intel released these, and slapped on a 5yr warranty - I thought I should give it a shot. These are so fast it's a joke to go back to spindled drives.128 went in my laptop...240 went in my desktop. Realized I want more space...so the 480 goes in the desktop, 240 goes to my laptop, and 128 goes into a new laptop I just purchased for my better half.Battery life went up significantly with my laptop as well as these draw so little power...Very fast. Very happy.

Intel and Sandforce are maintaining that relationship so that buyers of the drive will continue to receive improvements in reliability and performance.What makes this drive a top contender? The type of memory used in this model SSD is better quality, higher performance and longer lasting. Further, Intel hand picks the best chips for these drives. So you have one of the fastest controllers, the best and fastest nand, great firmware and top reliability.I've seen a lot of good drives with bad firmware and bad customer service, that were released before they were ready. This is not one of those.Other good contenders are the samsung 830 and the crucial m4. Both use different but good controllers, solid firmware, excellent performance and reliability and while they're priced 15-25% higher than similar budget ssds, its worth the extra money. Truly an amazing upgrade. Installing Windows 8 on here took less than 10 minutes. My start-up time takes about 10 seconds and shut-down and sleep takes less than 5 seconds. All in all, truly wonderful experience seeing the differences in speed. And with 120GB, you have enough room for an OS and much more. I'm going to start moving games that I currently play to that drive, see if there is a difference with that too!

Although this is the older generation SSD, it is the one that fits in my HP Mini laptop. All the parts to clone the drive and install it were in the kit, the process was a snap, and the drive provided a performance boost, both in bootup and daily use.

Put this in my mid 2010 27" iMac with pressure plate and stock wires bought here on amazon. My iMac now boots from "cold start" in 10sec!!!! Huge difference in app load time as well. Speed Demon.

First install of Win 8, BSOD on every boot. Tested the drive in Lenovo W530, and it won't pass SMART test. Reinstalled WIN 8, so far every thing seems in order and no BSOD (knock on the wood) what so ever. If it WIN 8 continues to be reasonably stable, I'll offically forget about the SMART thing.BTW, the speed is something once you tried, you won't be able to get back to platters.

This product was phenomenal! For the first 3 months.I had purchased the Intel 320 Series on November 28. 2011. I installed it immediately when the product arrived and everything ran incredibly smooth. I was content with my purchase and considered myself lucky to have not received a defective product. Sadly, I wasn't as fortunate as I thought. In March of 2012, the 320 Series SSD began to create spikes in my CPU usage. I ran multiple diagnostics and came to the conclusion that the SSD was causing the spikes and lagging my computer. Still, with this lagging, I decided to continue using the SSD to see if everything would go back to normal. And to my avail, it did! So, I decided to keep using the SSD, even though I would randomly experience spiking in my CPU reading and lagging for staggered intervals. Yesterday, June 2, 2012, the Intel 320 Series SSD finally FAILED.THE INTEL 320 SERIES SSD - FAILED AT 6 MONTHS OF USAGE.Yes, at exactly six months of usage, the SSD has failed to turn back on. With all the wires properly connected, the SSD will not turn on and is undetectable by my motherboard. Now, would I recommend this product? NO! STEER CLEAR!

Top of the line when I bought it, still functioning super fast today. This is a great SSD. Recommend buying this as your next computer upgrade if you are contemplating, HDDs are the weakest link and getting an SSD is a huge upgrade.

I installed a fresh copy of OSX 10.8.2. I also installed the latest version of Intel's Firmware which was dated November 27, 2012 v 1.93. The installed memory is 16 GB. The boot time is 12 seconds.This is the second Intel SSD that I own. The first one was an X25-M was purchased on 02/25/2010 and works very well with no problems since installation, I use both computers for business.Despite being a new and very expensive technology, my first drive has proven to be reliable. I still back up data frequently.

Now you know why Intel gets what they do for all their product lines in a higher price. Service, Service, Service is excellent from every department. When you see their ad's they put the people in the trenches doing the work to let you get a peak of what you get with Intel. Other companies sell, sell, sell, then hide, hide, and hide when you want to get immediate access to a human on the phone from the USA.

With 5 years warranty and at $230 for 240GB, it is an excellent deal and so decided to switch to SSD finally. All the reviewers' comments about Intel fixing SandForce controller issues in its SSD are correct. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and zero issues!i. Arrived on time in excellent condition. ii. Easy to install, and the HD cloning SW worked as expected (although I wasted time using some other free partition manager to do the cloning in vain). iii. Installed Intel SSD tools and ran the tests and system optimizer and banished :-) the internal HDs to external enclosures to be used for occasional back ups! Very happy with the performance (re-ran the Windows 7 experience index and got 7.7 for the SSD). PC is now quieter and cooler.Would *definitely* recommend buying it.

This is my first SATA 3 based SSD (my previous SSD is running on a SATA 1 system) and I am extremely impressed. Boot times are mindblowingly fast. The windows logo doesn't even appear while it's booting because of how fast it is. Add to that Intel's solid reliability and warrantee, and I think this is a great SSD worth getting in every way.And FYI, if you don't have a slot for 2.5" drives, don't worry because this SSD comes with a 3.5" bracket.

I bought this for the express purpose of creating a boot disk for my virgin Dell XPS 8500 with Windows 8 (dont get me started on Windows 8 as since XP there has not been a single new version of windows that I consider evolutionary or improvement). No cigar. The Intel provided software and touted by, presumebly, people on Intel payroll does not work.

There are other solid state drives that are faster. I got this one to run Raid0 with a 520 I currently had. So far, no problems with either of the 520 drives. I like the idea of intel products. In my mind, they seem to have a history of better reliability.

Purchased this drive to install in my Late 2009 27" iMac as the boot drive. Before installing it in the iMac, I installed it in an external USB enclosure to test it. I installed OS X on the drive and lived on it for several days. The first night, the system hung, but rebooting fixed it. The second night, the system hung again. Rebooting fixed it. The third night, the system hung again, but rebooting did not fix it. I connected the enclosure to another Mac, and the Mac did not mount the drive. I verified that the USB enclosure was not at fault by installing another drive in the enclosure and verifying that it still works.Conclusion: the drive is completely dead after 3 days of use. Not the quality I was expecting from Intel.

In that I have had a 120 GB Intel 320 SSD in my Win 7 desktop for over a year with great performance and no problems I decided to have the 240 GB Intel 520 SSD professionally installed in my Vista Laptop and that is when the problems started and the laptop began having BSOD crashes several times each day. By the end of 2 weeks the BSOD crashes were just 5-10 minutes apart and I had to have the 240 GB Intel 520 SSD removed. Now that the original 240 GB WD Scorpio HDD is back in the laptop there have been no crashes at all which is typical with this laptop.

It will only accept the password after a cold boot--a regular reboot will ask for the password (regardless of the BIOS setting) but won't accept any entered password until the machine is fully powered off.
