Great Finish.sUPER qUALITY.

Although my bathroom is almost all Brushed nickel and I would have preferred a matching finish, this thermostat is truly amazing. I took a while to review it because we were still building our new walk in shower, but we added a rain shower above, a handheld spray, and since we already had a nice, strong shower head we decided to get this thermostat and just plumb in the good head as well. It does NOT come with a rough in kit, you need to get that separate. Keep that in mind when you are looking at cost.

As far as quality, Grohe is truly the best of the best. I see this lasting a lifetime. You have to be careful to follow the instructions in the book when you install otherwise you will be circulating hot water into your cold water pipes in your house and around and around. LOL But if you follow all the instructions you will be good. Finish is beautiful, the little "illustrations" are solid plastic and not just stickers. The buttons all work great and everything is built very, very solidly. The fact that it's square is a huge plus if you are tiling the walls too.

One thing I really liked that wasn't clear on the Amazon page is that this comes with 7 different options of "plastic tab labels", so if you don't have your tub hooked up to this, then you can use a different one. There is one that is a clear handheld, a clear rainshower, and then a few others that are different "spray" shower heads. If you have two shower heads in your walk in, one for the husband and the wife, then it works really great if you put this in between the two, and you can even have matching labels. I love that it truly works for multiple people and it's SO easy to turn everything on and off, no more fiddling with handles and whatnot. Really a great, great thermostat with very fine tuned controls. I feel so spoiled now!

This GroheTherm Triple Function thermostatic trim is only the trim - beautifully made trim, but it needs other parts to function.

Prior to installing, you will need to buy Grohe Rapido Smartbox (Grohe 35601000) that is installed first & connects to the plumbing supply lines. It can’t hurt to purchase the Grohe specialized socket spanner & wrench (Grohe 19131000) (Grohe 19332000) or use your own plumber’s tools.

The GroheTherm is designed to accommodate any combination of three water flow outlets - (e.g., 1 shower head, 1 handheld sprayer, 1 tub faucet or substitute the tub faucet for two shower heads + handheld sprayer, etc.) If you only have two outlets, you may want to switch to Grohe’s two output models. Installation instructions are not as good as you tube videos, which I used. Installation is complicated with many steps, and as a DIYer who has installed many shower fixture upgrades and installed showers, I was still reluctant to tackle this job myself because it was an upgrade. I had to hire a plumber and he complained that he needed to charge more for installing this fixture due to the unexpected extra time involved.

One nice feature is that you can have the overhead shower head going and simultaneously use the handheld sprayer or other combinations. The water flow outlets will supply up to 2.5 GPM (constrained by the flow rate of a given fixture and water pressure in pipes). The icons for the GroheTherm controls can be customized according to your setup (i.e., shower head, tub faucet, handheld, etc.) and are included, so you choose which ones will be used. Another nice feature is protection from scalding water & adjustable water temperatures. I think the highest temperature setting is 108 degrees F. There is also a low flow water restrictor on the thermostatic valve for areas where this is mandatory.

The Grohe Rapido Smartbox (essential for this GroheTherm trim to function) lacks the shut-off (service stops) at the physical fixture (rough-in-box) like the old ones had, which may present difficulties, depending upon the situation. Without the ability for shut-off at the fixture, if you need to shut off the water to perform maintenance, or install a future upgrade, you will need to shut off the water to the entire house. You need to check your local plumbing codes to see if you will need to also buy and install service stops at the valve. If so, these service stop parts are Grohe 1405300M. This is straightforward for new installations but upgrades may require you to work in tight quarters. Old valves may need to be replaced. The new Grohe service stop valves are made of thermoplastic resin.

I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased from GROHE, and this shower kit is no different. First of all, you will need the rough in box to install this kit. It's may not be for the DIY'er as it's rather involved to install properly. I'm remodeling the master bath and decided to install the rain fall shower head, hand wand and 2nd shower head. I ran new 3/4" pipe to the shower and installed a booster pump and accumulator tank to be sure I have plenty of pressure and flow. The quality and flexibility that this kit provides is great when you have 3 different shower heads and don't want to install one of those large and ugly surface mount kits. It provides an elegant built in look while proving that flexibility. By the time you're all in for the trim kit, rough in box, hand wand and shower heads, prepare to spend close to $2,000. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Used this in the shower to control a wall-mounted shower head, a rain shower head, and a hand-shower. I was looking at a similar Hansgrohe push-button shower control, but it could only control two outlets at once and had no flow volume selector. This Grohe selector is beautiful, and so far has worked perfectly in the two weeks since it has been installed. The plumber commented that he thought it had high-quality components. The thermostatic valve is very accurate, and the flow volume selectors work great (although we honestly just run them at full volume always). Push button controls are simple and react instantly. I highly recommend this valve for anyone who needs to control three outlets and doesn't want to wrangle with multiple volume control valves or diverter valves.

I thought for the price they should have included the rough in package, but it is what it is. I can't install it for a few months when I redo my rear bathroom and replace the bath with a large shower. I like that this is configurable for almost any type of water flow, it does not need to be just for a bath or bath/shower combo. The anti-scald feature is nice as I have on occasion turned the hot water on myself in error. I had an issue with my shower with the hot water control. I bought some generic replacement knobs, but they were not as universal at they thought. The shower may be original from 1955, so that may be the problem. Currently, I have an Amazon purchased, mini channel lock wrench to act as the know since it's stripped to the point it will not work. It looks a bit tacky, but it works. This will improve the look of that pretty good, and give me some flex with a fixed and corded shower heads. Recommended, but a bit on the expensive side.

I decided to get this for our bathtub/shower combo that we have at our house. We were getting tired of constantly having to switch the tight turn knobs between the above and side shower heads. This seemed like a great solution to this problem that came with a stylish looking control pad with easy to use push buttons. I can't speak directly to how easy installation is because I had a plumber install it for me. I am absolutely terrible with plumbing to begin with, so I wasn't even going to try and touch this one. It did take him a little while to complete the job, so I'm assuming it's a little on the more difficult side of things. The setup comes with interchangeable knobs depending on the configuration of your system, so we were able to install one each for the tub, top shower, and side shower sprayers. This makes it super easy now that even the kids can turn the different shower sprayers on without having to get an adult to reach the knobs. The temperature is really nice when compared to the old handle that we used to have. It's really easy to make small adjustments to the temperature with just an easy turn. The other feature that I like is the temperature override that allows you to set the maximum temperature to 100° F. This is great if you have kids because you don't have to worry about them accidentally burning themselves when fiddling with the knob. Previously we had to keep the water heater temperature turned down in order to achieve this result, but now we can crank it back up without having to sacrifice our hot water capacity. The only downside to this product is you have to purchase an additional part called a Rapido SmartBox. It's understandable that when you purchase these types of items you have to make some generic purchases to install the product, but this part is specifically made by Grohe. I don't understand why they wouldn't include this part with the purchase of an already high priced item like this. As of the time of this review, the product already costs $410 and now you're having to spend an additional $85 on the part. It would be nice if they included this part for the customer. Overall this is a really nice addition to our shower/bathtub that both looks and functions great, but I'm not sure if it's worth it for the high price with the additional part required as well.

I have purchased a few Grohe kitchen and bath products, and they are always great quality. This controller is equal to the other Grohe products I have owned. The overall fit and finish is excellent. The controls are attractive and clear in their use. Once installed, this controller does an excellent job of nicely allowing you to control up to 3 shower heads from a single unit. The controller does it all in a nice, compact design.

In addition to the cost of this unit, you will have to purchase hardware to install it in your wall. You will almost certainly want to have a professional prepare the plumbing to accommodate the controller. Unless you know what you're doing, I would not attempt to do this yourself!

So, in terms of quality and design, this is top-of-the-line! But be aware of the additional costs of actually getting it installed.

This is just the trim, so make sure you have the appropriate rough-in kit for it first. The great thing about this trim style is that it elegantly allows the intuitive control, using symbols, of a very complex bathroom setup. That could be the typical shower+tub+sprayer or just a large shower setup. There are some options for the shape to match your bathroom style, but I personally prefer this type with sharp corners for the modern look. Achieving all of this control would normally mean at least two separate panels and more complex plumbing.

I do have one critique. The StarLight Chrome is not so magical as it is described. It is an attractive shiny surface that looks good, but definitely needs care to avoid those permanent water marks that have made a mess of some of my Grohe fixtures even after I tried resorting to harsher cleaners like Comet. There is an easy solution -- after each use, use your towel to wipe off any water droplets on the surface. This is not a big deal for me, but may be for some living situations.

Overall, I am very happy with this trim design, but not blown away by the quality of the finish.

It's pretty. It is. Our plumber had to work on it on five different occasions and had to send away for a part that was the wrong size. They had to take the end cap off several times and it finally broke because it's cheap plastic. Once they finally got it to work it's been okay-the volume control doesn't seem to exist. But it isn't pretty anymore without the cap. So altogether, not a great buy.

The Grohe 29142000 Grohtherm Smart Thermostatic Control Module is a thing of luxury. :) I got this for a bathroom remodel and love it. It's definitely a high end item, but I love the controls and simple yet quality look it has in the bathroom.

The temperature controls are so nice to have in the shower. You can really dial into your favorite temperature and it makes the shower so enjoyable. It also works great with multiple heads or sprayers. Best of all, though, is the quality of this unit. It's not a cheap device that will fail in a couple of years. It's really awesome. Installation looked a little complicated. Thankfully it was for a remodel and a plumber took care of it. I would probably recommend a professional installation.

I didn't even know such a thing existed but now that I do, I have been spoiled. I love the way it looks and performs and makes bathing and showering a true luxury experience, even in the comfort of your own home. It will be a headache to install so get someone who knows what they're doing, but it will be so worth the effort! You are able to control the temperature AND flow of how you want to experience your private and sacred cleansing time, and I just can't stop raving about this thing. Spoil YOURSELF with a luxury item that will last you for years and years to come.

I had this tap installed 4 weeks back. There is a problem with the diverter for this tap. You need to use something as a grip to pull the knob when you want to use the shower..I have contacted Grohe and their engineer came to change the diverter , but still it is very hard to pull the knob when you use the shower, its like it is stuck. Engineer told me that this is the way it is built , there is nothing he can do.When I contacted them again they are saying if the engineer comes and says that the problem is something else , I have to pay £100 pounds call out charge- even though one of their engineer has been here already once to the property. They know that this is a design fault , but don't want their customers to complaint . Very bad customer service , the agent was very rude, do not want to resolve the problem , her words are "if you do not want to pay , I will cancel the call out".
