I ordered two of these from two different sellers. I could not figure out why when I finally was able to install this one why it would not fit properly. As seen in the picture, this unit arrived with volume stems way shorter than they are supposed to be. One on the right is the one that came with this unit vs. the one on the left that came from a different seller. Only resolution I can find is to order an extension kit from Grohe for $115.00! Not sure if this was a returned item and that is why the stems were so much shorter (they do get cut during install specific to the depth of the rough-in) or if they are just shipping an inadequate product. Buy elsewhere or confirm when it first arrives that you got the correct size for these or you will be in my situation!

This is an incredible shower trim that we enjoy using more each day. The biggest plus is not having to try and dial the right temperature each time. You just set the temp dial once and you're good to go. Push one of the buttons and within 5 seconds, your water is at your desired temperature. The temperature gauge itself is very easy to use and has an anti-scald feature so you don't go past the hottest pre-set temp unless you unlock the dial (which is simple to use). We bounced back and forth with this shower control and the Hansgrohe with similar functions, but this won out because it includes the volume control the Hansgrohe did not. So with this shower trim, you can also control the flow of the water from each source.

As for the installation, I can't speak too much to it since it was installed by our plumber. I can say that he had no issues and did not complain about it at all, so I assume all was fine on that front.

Excellent product. Got it in October 2017. Working perfectly since 3 years. I tried all metal sets but this one doesn’t rust.

As other reviewers have stated it is a little complicated to install but what do you expect from a thermostatic control with 3 different features with individual volume control and push button activation! It's even complicated to say, but so easy to use. Just go slow and double, triple check each step during installation. Took me an hour to install, not including the rough in, obviously. Works great. I wish the buttons and dials were metal like the main plate. That's my only critique.

I've used both Handgrohe and Grohe products, and there are many similarities. This model allowed me to control 3 different functions just like I wanted so I took a leap of faith. You can tell right away there are similarities in the brands.

While I cannot say the product isn't working well, I'm disappointed in the customer service. The knob for this unit comes in a dozen pieces and customer service is impossible to get a hold of to help figure out how to assemble it. With Hansgrohe, customer service is very easy to reach, very responsive, and has taken care of me twice. So the product may be about equal all things considered, but the Hansgrohe service is way better.

I did not install yet, but seems to be a very good product. then only thing that I did not realize when I saw the picture is that the buttons with symbols are white plastic, I would have preferred chrome. Now I am trying to see if they are sold separately in chrome ...

Its not METAL as mentioned in the product details. Its made of ABS with chrome finish.

By far the coolest shower control I’ve ever used. I have one in each bathroom now. It’s surprisingly easy to install and grohe has a how to YouTube channel. The volume control is great. It’s also a great thermostatic valve - we can run the sink, toilet and dishwasher at the same time as the shower and not change the temperature.

Love the look, just finished installing and our plumber was surprised on how easy it is to install the final trim.
Although some parts are plastic and seems fragile, well hope it holds Good.
Tip: When installing the trim to cut the extension knob, tighten the screw all the way. The size of the extension is very important.

Amazing! Prime example of superior German engineering. I researched affordable valves for weeks before deciding on this one, and none of them even come close in this price range. Easy installation for new construction with the blue Grohe Rapido Smartbox (not included), and not to be confused with the Hansgrohe (green) rough in box. Best $400 I ever spent.
