My remodelling expert told me that "Grohe" makes a great faucet. Wow was he mistaken. Since remodelling drags on many months, a long time went by, before we tried installing it. FIRST BIG problem, you need the 3-hole to 1-hole adapter, which was NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PURCHASE. So now I got dug in deeper. After spending $175 on the faucet, now I got to spend another $50 on the adapter which was a rare item, hard to find and order. Then we installed it. Yuck! All the hoses come out thru 1 narrow brass tube at its base. There is HOT, COLD, and there is HOSE OUT and HOSE IN, because this model has the rinser which is on a hose. Guess what, those 4 hoses are hopeleslly choked together, the rinser will NOT go up and down properly, the faucet is JUNK, AND WAIT there is more. BECAUSE I was months into a remodel, and we even threw out the box, what does that say? Says I could NOT return it. We thought it was a good faucet, we didn't test it out early. We got fooled, now I am out the cost of this faucet, AND the cost of the $50 adapter plate. I was NOT impressed, I wanted a super-quality faucet, but it's HALF the money, so we are KEEPING the American Standard while the Grohe is at the bottom of my garbage can. Out in the driveway, waiting for trash day so I never see it again. Bye bye $225 I am very sad.

UPDATE: This is still an excellent faucet, but I now strongly advise against buying this model, because the very specialized aerator is not available anywhere. I live in an area with hard water, and have to replace the aerators on our faucets every year when the calcium buildup can no longer be removed without destroying them. This faucet uses a very unusual dual-function aerator that handles both the spray and the normal stream. Most pulldown faucets have an aerator for the stream and separate holes for the spray - not this one. The Grohe website shows the part as discontinued, and you will not find it anywhere on the Internet (I found one at a plumbing supply in the UK for £24 !). It would be like buying a car and, after a year, learning that you couldn't get an oil filter for it anywhere. So be warned in advance: don't buy that car, no matter how much you like it! I've written to Grohe, and if they reply, I'll update this review again, but so far just crickets.

This is considered a middle-of-the-road contemporary faucet in Europe, where this style is very popular. Grohe faucets are generally well made and attractive, and this one's no exception. The laminar flow is a very trendy, deluxe feature, although now you can add it to pretty much any faucet by replacing the standard aerator with a laminar flow type.

That said, the typical retail price of this faucet is around $300, and Amazon is currently selling it for under $200, so a pretty good value. You can spend five times that much on a faucet that looks and works no better. It would be hard to spend less.

If you have a bit of experience installing European faucets, this one goes in very quickly. If you don't, you might run into problems. One problem I've seen mentioned is that it leans a bit. The main reason for this is that there's a rubber o-ring that sits on the sink or counter surface underneath the faucet "trunk", and if this isn't perfectly lined up, the whole thing will be tilted a bit. Another problem that people have is that the sprayer hose should be inserted in the arm before the arm is attached to the trunk, or it will be difficult to get the hose properly inserted. The instructions aren't very clear - again, if you haven't installed European faucets.

Once installed, everything worked fine. As a review on another website said, it took longer to remove the old faucet than to install this one (but that's actually the norm). My one small complaint: it take a bit of force to swing the arm around, as there's more friction on this arm than on some other faucets. I don't expect this to be a problem, but the older faucet swung around pretty easily.

Overall, a good value on an attractive, good-quality faucet.

Unfortunately, the return window closed before we had a chance to install this. Now that a plumber is here, he informed us that not only are there missing parts but the faucet in the box doesn't even match what is on the installation instructions. A complete waste of money.

I ordered a Grohe faucet to replace my original one which was bought 15 years ago when we built our house. The new faucet arrived promptly and we didn’t expect any problem because of the success we had with our original one. We hired a plumber and he proceeded to remove the old faucet and replace it with the new one. After putting the faucet together the major part to secure the faucet under the sink was missing from the box. He removed it and we requested a replacement from Amazon which they did. The only problem was that we had no kitchen faucet until the new one arrived. Upon receiving it the plumber returned and put in the new faucet. But when he was done the construction of the faucet is such that the gooseneck nozzle wasn’t able to be tightened into the faucet base (plastic into metal) and the top of the faucet was swinging freely causing water to get all over the counters and backsplash. To make a long story short the plumber returned today to put in a different grohe faucet which we ordered from Amazon which is a much better design and we now have use of our kitchen again. The only problem is that we paid the plumber for 3 visits instead of the one we should only have had to do. He was ready not to charge us today but the original faucet being junk is no fault of his own.

My first faucet was a Grohe and it works like a champ with 12 years of abuse. Nothing wrong with it but wanted to update style for new sink. I didn’t hesitate to stay with Grohe. Lots of pressure and looks like a million bucks. I like the style of the gooseneck with spiraling metal but they look like a nightmare to keep clean. This faucet is easy peasy to clean.

It just works way better than any other sink fixture Ive used. Feels expensive and well-engineered. Easiest install compared to the last one. The way the base tightens to the countertop at the end is pretty clever and makes a ton of sense- leave it to the Germans.

It took longer to take the Moen faucet out than it did to install this. Plus it looks nicer and the laminar flow from the Grohe is amazing. We've had it installed for nearly a month and haven't had a single dislike or issue. Excellent faucet!
