My reason for 3 stars? Why did the original wear out so quickly.

Installation was as described and straightforward.
Be certain to shop around -- Grohe parts are not as readily available as other brands -- and if you do so, you can save a considerable amount of money.

PROS
- Minimalist, streamlined look
- 3 watering modes: normal, rinse spray, jet spray. The latter is VERY powerful akin to a pressure washer, allowing you to spray off very stubborn gunk
- Pause button. Interestingly, this is included to temporarily stop the flow of water
CONS
- Poor installation instructions, but not too different from standard steps (if you are experienced, you should be able to figure it out fairly quickly)
- Threading at the bottom is a bit difficult to tighten so that the faucet does not wobble
- Expensive
This is a quality, beautiful faucet with Grohe's usual, premium price tag. Installation may be difficult or frustrating for some, but once installed, adds a premium look to a kitchen.

Seems to make kind of a hissing are squealing noise as water passes through.

The installation instructions are terrible but if you've installed a faucet before or watched a good video you'll be fine. You need some kind of basin wrench or other huge wrench that works in tight spaces, a Phillips screwdriver, a wrench for the water supply lines and anything else that comes up (I used a 17mm wrench that was too big and adjustable wrench) plus a bucket and safety glasses. Make sure you flush the lines before you put the faucet head on.
There are some tricky parts to the installation, including trying to thread the sprayer hose through the faucet when it's already all put together. It's easier to take it apart, then go under the sink and move the supply lines so there's room for the other hose. Also the plastic nut they include to tighten the faucet down is not good enough. I cracked it and the faucet is too loose. The faucet moves around because it's hard to tighten enough and because it's so heavy on a thinner stainless sink. The gasket between the faucet and sink is extremely minimal and I am confident that water will get through because I can't tighten it very well.
I tried to take out the aerator but the wrench doesn't fit in it and the instructions are useless.
The handle works very well, very smoothly and intuitively. My parents have a faucet with the same orientation and I always push it the wrong way but this one makes more sense. The weight on the hose is HUGE and very heavy, so it snaps the faucet head right back into place after you've used it. The weight does hang right over the waste line though so it's hitting that over and over.
The biggest disappointment though is that I tried to use the sprayer to clean some dishes and with the blade setting it sprayed everywhere, all over, and once I got my hand soapy the thing was impossible to hold onto. It's cone shaped so it just flies out of my hand if I try to put any force on the buttons, and two of the buttons (blade and pause) have to be held down continuously to use those settings. They all take a bunch of force to hold down. If you want to switch between the stream setting (which is a pure stream of water with no visible air bubbles) and the shower setting, you have to press the button that activates the blade setting and let it go quickly. So it shoots out a blade of messy water first then turns on the shower setting. When you turn the faucet off it reverts to the stream setting.
So it's built like a tank but it wobbles and isn't tight enough on the deck, makes a huge mess, slips everywhere, hits the sewage line and doesn't aerate.

Until recently I had not tried a Grohe faucet. I actually never heard of the brand until someone had told me about them. I had done a little research to find out that they are well made German faucets and was excited to try this one. The other Grohe faucet we tried was a bit sleeker and more modern looking than this one. I have to say I liked the other one a bit more because of the 90degree angle it had.
This one is well constructed as well. There is one area where I felt this model falls a little short which is the over of the head is not solid metal. Which makes it feel a tad bit cheaper when you first are assembling it. Honestly, it doesn't affect the actual functionality of the faucet so I can't bash the product too much for that. The rest of the faucet is very solid, heavy metal. All well constructed.
This faucet looks wise is much more meant to be able to work in a variety of kitchen styles. Whereas several of the GROHE product is a much more modern design, this particular model is more conservative. It still works in a modern setting because to handle is unique and sharp with its triangle shape. To me, this is a blend between the going completely modern/minimalistic type of look and more traditional style faucets. I must also say the Starlight Chrome finish is great. It doesn't show fingerprints nearly as much as traditional chrome or stainless steel finishes that I’ve had in the past. I am not sure what makes it have that resistance but it's a huge factor in why I liked this faucet.
Installation seemed a bit more complex with this faucet than others I've done in the past. Still a fairly standard install but seemed to have a couple of extra steps with the retractible neck. So it took me a little longer than I had thought but I would say it was around an hour start to finish. I am rather familiar with installing these though. The water pressure is also better than I would have expected with the larger spray head.
Overall this remains a high-quality faucet and a good buy. I do favor the more modern design of Grohe's other faucets but this is a good choice for those who want more of the traditional faucet look. This brand is quickly becoming my favorite with how well made their faucets are. I am debating switching to their shower heads after using their products.

Simple design leads to an easy to clean fixture. It takes only a few seconds to wipe down with a cloth to reveal a shiny, sparkly clean finish.
The valve handle is smooth operating. The ceramic cartridges yield a very pleasant and precise control over the water temperature and flow.
The rain spray pattern is gentle but good for rinsing, the blade pattern is even better at scrubbing. It is kind of like a water squeegee made of water. Very useful and nice that the laminar flow doesn't create a lot of splash.
The pull down spray head has an arc to its shape and I don't prefer this shape as far as ergonomics are concerned. It is a significant part of the overall aesthetic design of the faucet so taking that into account I think it should still maintain its five star rating. The larger size and curve make it a little harder to maneuver around the sink as compared to a more compact and straight down spray head that fits in the palm of your hand.
I guess I would recommend this faucet if you love the look and style of it. If you are looking for a very functional faucet for washing and rinsing your dishes and sink areas and this is most important to you then you may want to consider a faucet with a different spray head design. 5 stars for quality and beautiful aesthetics with good function.

Similarly, the rest of the hardware is so incredibly well built that it is the equal of anything I have bought from from Delta, Pfister, Peerless or other brand names. All of it is very heavy duty brass or copper with the exception of a small section that is made of PEX.
The included documentation is brief but to the point and completely understandable. If you have any experience at all in installing plumbing fixtures you likely will not need to refer to it very often. The product also comes with a limited lifetime warranty, which I hope to never have to use. Complete installation of this faucet took me about 30 minutes after removing the existing fixture. There were no complications to speak of. Everything was fairly straight forward
I've only had this model installed for a short time, so it's way too early to report anything on long-term durability, but with a limited lifetime warranty I'm not too worried about it. No leaks or other problems to report. The magnetic docking system is nice, but has to be pretty close to the head in order to work. It's just a regular magnet, not magic. The stream is powerful enough, given the amount of water flow from the hoses, which are the same size as for any other faucet sold these days. The faucet valve closes tightly. Off is off. No drips. Unlike some cheaper kitchen faucets there is no horrible bottleneck in the head of the unit, so you get a very decent amount of water flow at the end. If you need to fill up something with water in a hurry this is the model you want to choose.
I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised with my first experience using this brand. If this is how all of their products are made I will definitely be back for more.

1- Stream - This is a non-aerated stream that runs clear water
2- Shower - This is a ring of micro streams that gives you a wider ring for faster rinsing
3- Jet - This is a potent, pressurized flat jet that fires a stream similar to a flat pressure washer
The neck is free-moving and smooth. The counterweight for drawing the pull-down back up into the neck is very easy to put on, and seems to be the perfect weight to allow easy pull out, and secure/flush connection. Overall, an excellent product, but be prepared for for some under-the-counter frustration, getting this mounted firmly. It's enough to detract a star...
