We could not be more happy with our decision to purchase this camera. You can'e beat it for the price. Our 6 year old son plays baseball and soccer. We canted a camera that could take decent action pictures. The rapid fire feature has captured numerous great shots that we would have missed on our old camera with single shot. It also takes excellent single shots. A more expensive camera with removable lenses miht do a little better, but so far the pictures we have taken have been very clear and it has been pretty easy figuring out how to operate this camera. Grab a set of Sanyo Eneloop rechargable batteries and you are set.

I would absolutely reccomend it to anyone, I have Z1, this one was for my mom (55) and she has no problem with using it. beautiful photos, very handy!!

I look around for a while and the more I looked, the more I liked this camera over the others in this price range.
I dont know a lot about the advanced features of high end "pro" cameras, so the presets on this one work great for me. Most of the time I take the shot I want using the presets, then take a few more trying the different settings. I am learning through trial and error.
I like the layout of the controls, so it was easy to get use them.
The pictures are great when I get the correct settings, and I am pleased.
I love the 18x zoom and have been amazed by the shots I have been abale to get that I could not have gotten before.

This camera packs a lot in a tiny package. The images are crisp and clear, it's quick and easy to learn the functions (takes 10 minutes or less), and it's as small and lighter than my cell phone. Great for a second camera too.

I was really into photography in my teens/twenties possessing SLR's by Pentax, Nikon and Canon. I resisted the digital technology because of time lapse and loss of definition. The addition of a family changed my mind anf the ability to take/delete photos/retake and print as many copies as wanted with the addition of zoom lenses and increase pixels has won me over. Like the other reviewer I also possess the 6500 but it is larger and more cumbersome. I have owned over ten digital cameras six off them by Fuji (whom I rate as the best) and still have the A820, Finepix (6.3 megapixels) S304 (6 times zoom). Still like the S304 for the extended zoom but have given all these cameras to my kids (have four) and they love the ease of photography. Great camera can't go wrong with this one. However if you want the equivalent of a SLR then go forthe 6500 but if you want a good compact at a great price then you cannot beat this camera.

The Fujifilm J10 is a great little camera! It doesn't have a lot of buttons or switches to mess with. The anti jiggle thing works great too!

The camera is being very useful for recording memories. The pictures are very sharp and the colors are bright.

I got exactly what I was expecting with camera and have to agree with the reviewer above. The camera renders skin wonderfully. In fact, with the exception of the D3, I wouldn't trade it for any other F-mount camera. I've really enjoyed shooting with it and I'll be disappointed if Fuji gets out of the DSLR market.

I was just about ready to buy the Canon SD1000 to replace my Pentax Optio 43WR. (I would have bought another WR if Pentax still made one like it) but found the V10 at Ritz Camera for $99. Wow! This is a fine camera anyway but for this price, it's a steal. The last Fuji I owned was a 40i and I'm a fan of the Super CCD. The 3 inch LCD closes the deal, especially for us over 50 guys who need reading glasses. Spare batteries are cheap and the camera is very easy to use. The picture quality is good and 5 megapixels is more than I need.

I purchased the camera two years ago thru Amizon. When I received it and opened the box the selector knob fell out. I contacted Amizon about the condition, they were very helpful and replaced the camera. I liked the camera although the telephoto pics were not as clear as I had hoped. I also was impressed with the battery life. Then I was taking some pics a month ago and the selector knob came off in my hand. Only normal pressure was applied when knob broke. The one thing that I find of interest was that on ebay there is a site that offers the knob for the fujifilm S8000 camera as though this is a very common replacement item. I bought a knob, with replacement instructions. I found out that replacing the knob was a very complicated task and I terminated the process. I can change the selector switch with a small screwdriver, but decided to just set it to auto bear with it. This is the last Fujifilm I will own.

The S5800 is an excellent camera, with superb macro settings and built in modes so that you don't have to remember to change the exposure, shutter speed and flash for a night shot, for instance. Fantastic value for money, 5 stars!

the only reason i did not give this camera 5 stars is that under really bright light(ie. outside under sunny conditions) - it can sometimes be hard to see the screen - not so much for taking pictures but for making changes for the shooting modes. the resolution of the photo and the size and style of this camera make it a winner. i read just about every review i could find online and the ones that praise it definitely got it right!!!

So far I am impressed with this camera. My first real test was a few days after I got it I went to an indoor circus. There was very low light conditions and the camera seemed to do well. Granted I have to learn to adjust some settings to perfect my picture taking but I was impressed with the camera on a first time using basis. I am looking forward to other events to test this camera out.

I was afraid this camera might not live up to the hype but I was wrong.

It's a nice size, a comfortable weight that won't tire your arms if you hold it for too long.

In auto mode, it just does everything for you. But you can fiddle with the settings to please yourself.

Nice large screen at the back and the menu/select buttons are well labelled.

It's finished well although a soft case would have been a nice addition.

This is a nice camera, but I chose it because the right-hand thumb location adds stability, which allowed for single hand usage. I would have liked the red-eye reduction and higher ISO ratings in the A810 model, but I would have lost the thumb rest to a function wheel, which would then require two hand usage. I have a handicapped user and single hand operation is required. It's funny that most modern cameras work to be sleek, but ignore getting a good grip on the unit. The pictures are good, but not as good in low lighting due to the lower ISO rating. Features are nice excluding those I've griped about. I would recommend the A810 model if you don't mind using two hands all the time. If you have kids, single hand operation is useful even for anyone. :)

A great little product from Fuji. This camera is very small and intuitive to use. Some great features like the ability to take 2 photos in quick succession with and without flash so you can choose later which is best. Add a 1GB xD card and this will hold 500+ photos. Neat internal optical zoom keeps it all very compact. Battery life seems good so far too from the rechargeable unit supplied with the camera. Movie feature gives clear sound and vision. I cannot comment on the image software as I never use any camera software - I always transfer using a card reader into Google Picasa.
The reason it loses one star in the rating? The sliding lens cover operates a little too easily when it's in your pocket. I got round this by always putting it in my pocket with the lens cover facing up so that the act of putting in my pocket closes the cover.
Overall though this is excellent value for money at under $150.

Update:
2 years on, this camera is still my 'default' camera. Easily carried and quick to use with great picture and movie quality. Highly recommended.

i've had this camera for almost a year. i like the camera itself. it is small, not too heavy and has a big screen for looking at pictures you have just taken. there is very little camera lag and it takes good, quick shots in low light. i just up the exposure a bit in iphoto afterwards. the battery lasts a long time and you don't need a special charging cord so if you forget to pack it or whatever you can probably find something else to do the trick.
but i don't care for the picture quality. i used to have a canon and though i did not like the camera the pictures looks good even when i blew them up. if i zoom in just a little with this camera is looks fuzzy. if you care about the quality of your pictures i wouldn't recommend this camera but if you just want to document your life and print some 4x6s it's fine. anyone with artistic aspirations should move on.

The battery and charger, manual, lense protector, and shade are all part of this camera kit. I called to find out if I needed to buy a battery, and the customer service rep. did not know. As the battery is a $40plus item and not always included, I think it is important to make note of this.

Overall, the large back screen immediately brings a lot of positive ooohs and aaahs. In fact, pictures look quite good when taken in regular lighting and in Auto Mode. However, any pictures not taken in auto mode do not have stability control and therefore usually lack any focus. So for pictures that you would like to take at night, this camera may not be a good purchase item. Many pictures come out blurry without the Auto Mode and you feel frustrated when trying to capture moving objects. However, for plain pictures, the camera is absolutely great and the price tag is very affordable

Not a bad little camera for the price. If you just want a small pocketable camera that you can carry around for those not to be missed shots, this one is pretty good. If you're more interested in mega-megapixels, then you can upgrade to others. This one is accurate in color and clarity enough for the everyday picture-taker who just wants to capture the moment.

I was pretty impressed with this camera from the start, its got a pretty small design so it wont get in the way. The quality of the pictures are really good, and the camera does a good job of determining lighting conditions for the auto flash. One of the best features of the camera is its ability to take clear shots of moving objects, I've taken pictures of people moving as well as taken shots from cars on the road and the picture remains clear with little or no blurring. Great camera for the price I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a 8.2 mp digital camera thats light and portable but takes great pictures.
