Received this product very quickly. Set up was as simple as could be. Connected to a desktop computer upstairs and receive full signal strength. This is a great value for the money.

I purchased this unit as a replacement to the same type of unit that had broke.The old unit I had worked at 300 mbpss to 270 Mbps consistently.This unit starts at 300 Mbps but as soon as it connects it jumps back to 81 Mbps and stays at 81.Wrote to company purchased on amazon, they said contact dlink.Dlink customer service says it could be a computer issue to contact Dell.The computer worked just fine until this particular unit.Wish this company would just step up and replace it. How SAD!!!!

Simple connect and setup on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit install. Wireless access point (older Linksys) is in the back of an 1800 sq ft house and the computer is in the front. Excellent connection. What's not to love?

This piece of junk is written as a Windows 7 compatible. However, it's not "compatible" to Windows 7 64-bit. I bought one with my PC Windows 7 64-bit and it doesn't work. Driver installation is passed but crashed when "D-link Connection wizard" started. No matter how many times I tried (install-uninstall) it's still the same. Some people on the forum found they could make it works for some period of times (few minutes to few hours) before it disconnected and need to do some trick to make it works again. Like another comment points out, their driver version is 2009 so no update or anything. Therefore, if you're Windows 7 64-bit user, stay away from this.**Microsoft's Compatibility center also mark that this model doesn't work on Windows 7 64-bit, which really pissed me off that D-link dare to put "Compatible with Windows 7" on their website and with this product.

this device only works if your right next door to where the router is. where i am at . on the same floor 2 rooms over it should have a good signal, however right now its pulling at 16%

First off DO NOT USE INSTALL DISC!!!! I have Windows 7 64 bit and it will install and update all by its self. Just plug into a usb 2.0 port and let it do its thing. I get 4 bars now instead of 2. I use this system in my garage and can play online games with no problem. Have my xbox connected to my pc and it works great for xbox live.

I bought this with much anticipation. It did indeed work. However, it stopped working completely withing 6 months. I am bummed. Now I need to buy a new wireless adapter. It is too soon.I know I will not buy a DLink....nor should you.

i bought this hoping to run my server off it but realized it wasn't compatible with server 2008 *sadface*. but it worked great with win 7 and the software that came with it worked great. i had no problems whatsoever...except for the fact that it is slightly too bulky to fit in a usb right next to another that is being used...but it conveniently comes with a cord that solves that problem...oh yeah...it looks cool :P

I did not want to install the D-Link software that came with the wireless adapter as I knew Windows 7 would install the drivers for me. Wrong. Windows 7 did install the drivers once I plugged the adapter but I could not connect to my wireless networks (I have 2, one N and one G with the D-Link 825 router). So it's a D-Link adapter trying to connect to a D-Link router, the wireless networks show up on Windows 7 but I keep getting the message I cannot connect. So I finally install the D-Link software and use that to connect successfully. Is there something that the D-Link connection software uses that Windows 7 doesn't know about? Anyways, have been using the adapter with no issues. I am getting only 3 bars which I guess is good for 802.11N and the router being upstairs and my computer downstairs. Have not experienced any dropouts or problems with compatibility with Windows 7 64 bit. I really don't like installing extra software that I do not use if Windows can run the device just as well, that's why I was concerned that I had to install the D-Link software. I don't consider it a bad thing as long as this adapter works well.

The reason I had to get this was I installed 64 bit vista on my wife's older laptop and the internal wifi did not support 64 bit. Install and setup was easy. Once connected I have had no problems. My only con is that the range is limited. I'm about 40 feet away through 1 floor and 1 wall and connection is low.

This was so easy to setup and use. My son moved into a an apartment that had wifi but his older desktop wasn't wireless capable. I bought this adaptor for it and it works great and was very easy to setup. Great purchase!

IDK what peoples problem are with DLink but I have been using DLink product since i 1st got hig speed internet back 15 years ago and i have worked in IT for a long time and I have yet to ever have issues with their products i believe that almost everyone that complains about this kind of stuff just isnt technically worthy of using computers...and they shouldnt complain because they dont know...

After troubleshooting I found that there are plenty of posts in their forum from people with the same issue. Their drivers for Win7 don't play nice with 64 bit at present. You install and it will show no networks to connect to. You reboot and it will lock up during shutdown. When it comes back, it won't be running. So you start it manually and it shows the networks... yay! You can now connect. But within an hour it will drop the networks again and you're back to square one.Forum postings show no solution. Some had issues with antivirus or firewall software (I have neither) but none are really solved. I'm sure in time they'll find a reliable driver patch that installs and works, but I see no evidence that it's even on their radar. So if you're 64 bit (Win7 or 2008 server) move along to another product.

$25 Excellent for its price. I was looking to purchase a wireless pci network adapter (which cost around $15) for my old desktop that I've had for almost 10 years. Since I was going to spend the money anyway, I figured why not pay a little more for a universal wireless usb network adapter instead. The range is great. I have a D-Link 655 router. Easy to install and connect. Got it up and running in a matter of minutes.This is not the best wireless usb adapter that D-Link has to offer but it suits my needs (wireless access to my obsolete desktop)

I was unhappy with by Linksys adapter, I just purchase a extended warrenty on the adapter and I call tech support. They wouldn't help me; stating my router is out of warrenty. I decided to purchase all D-link products; Dir-825 router with the D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Duo Dual Band. Tech support was easy to reach and the tech directed me to the manual setting of the router, once there I had a idea from my research what to do and mention it to him. We followed the direction I got from [...] to the letter. I was only getting 130 Mbps with my adapter. I'm using Rev. A from Amazon.com with XP Professional. The only thing I did differently from the instruction I'm going to provide was to rename my network name by putting a "1" on the previous name so I would be sure to connected too the changed network. I'm running a total of three computer at the same time on the network and getting a very strong signal; the wireless connections are on the second floor of my house. You also would be safe to retype your password while in your manual setup. The instructions are as follows: 300Mbps Connection Requirements! Please Read!« on: April 28, 2008, 11:21:08 AM »--------------------------------------------------------------------------------To have your Draft N wireless network connect at 300Mbps as it should, ensure that the following requirements are met.1) The router and adapter are both D-Link 802.11N products and are using the latest firmeware/drivers. Ensure that the 802.11 Mode of the router has a 802.11N mode selected. Also if you have issues with mixed mode, try locking the 802.11Mode to either 802.11N Only or 802.11G/N.2) If you are using encryption the router must be configured to use AES cipher. In some firmware versions/models, the only way to get the AES cipher is to run WPA2. If you can not select the Cipher, selecting WPA2 only will force this cipher type.3) The channel width needs to be set to 20/40Auto, if it is not, the adapter will report a connection speed of 130Mbps. This is a feature that was added for compatibility with Intel 802.11N adapters, as they only operate on a channel width of 20.D-Link reccomends that you use the D-Link Wireless utility, however the Windows Zero Config will also work.Assuming you have met all of these conditions, you should see a 300Mbps connection speed with either the D-Link Utility or WZC.Note: Not all Intel adapters are the same as D-Link's N line. Some Intel adapters do not support the broader 40 Channel Width option. This (by design) limits their connection speed to 130. Check the specifications of your Intel adapter to ensure that it is capable of bonding on the 40Mhz range to achieve the full 300Mbps.

I am a penguin-head (debian Mint) and was seeking a linux-compatible 5.8Ghz adapter.I bought this 802.11abgn card for my netbook after trying other so-called "N" USB adapters. Many are not true N because it does the support the 5.8Ghz frequency.Only fault I see (so far) is the connection keeps defaulting back to 2.4Ghz even when 5.8Ghz is available. However, this maybe due to the AP itself.Overall happy with this product.

I bought this for my brothers old laptop that I got for my birthday. He told me it didnt have the best wifi connection and I basically I had to plug it directly into the router to get good connection. I bought this and used the CD to install the drivers and it detected my network very fast and it connected and had 3/4 bars at all times. (Max is 4 bars) This installs very well without any hassle on Windows 7 32bit. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a wifi adapter

I bought this device about 45 days ago and it was much better than my inbuilt HP network adapter. It was easy to install and use but the D-link configuration manager did'nt launch most of the times when I clicked it to refresh the signal or connect to another network. I believe that's a serious pitfall in the software.

Load the included CD, then plug this adapter in to a USB port. Could not be simpler! I purchased refurb and they look and operate like new. But you may not get the stand and cable that comes with a new one. Also purchased a DLink N150 router and these two components seem to play well together all around my two-story framed house.It takes a lot of research to cut through the claims of greater bandpass, extended range, etc. DLink markets at least four versions of this adapter claiming various speed and range advantages. Wish I understood the jargon better but this combination works.Bottom line, two "N" adapters and a new "N" router for under $60. Hard to beat an Amazon Deal!Mike

I must say I was very impressed with this adapter, installation was very easy and it works flawlessly. The price was right and shipping was very good. The adapter gets a little warm but that does not affect the function of the adapter. I would recommend this product for any one.

I installed this wireless adapter on an older PC running Windows XP. Easy as can be to install. If your computer doesn't have plug n' play capabilities, the CD quickly installs. The signal is usually very good --- it can sometimes be slower if another device is using the connection, this could be our provider's fault and not the adapater. Very good price for great working equipment!

I purchased D-Link DWA-160 to increase wireless strength to other side of my home, 40 feet, from NetGear Wireless Router.Signal was strong 4 bars for 5 feet, 2 bars at 15 feet and 1 or no bars at 20 feet plus distancefrom the router.Repositioned NetGear router and D-Link several times. No difference.Re-installed several times. Called support and they suggested that I reset the channelfrom 11 to channel 6.Same results as above. The NetGear Router by itself transmits further on its own.Considering the restock fee and return shipping costs, I will just keep it. Only advantage isincreased speed when within 5 - 7 feet of the NetGear..

Purchased from Amazon.com and was delivered within 3 days. Installation was easy and range is acceptable for a roaming laptop. This was an inexpensive solution to the failed wireless on my HP Pavilion, which seems to be a common problem with this laptop. I tried the small Buffalo wireless adapter first because I thought it would be unobtrusive but it did not have the range and downloads were slow when I was further away from the router. So if you read this it may save you some time...just order this D-Link adapter and get the range that the original built in computer wireless had. It is bigger than a memory stick, so a bit more obtrusave but it does have more range. I use it constantly and it does not overheat.

Pros:I get 300mbps on my old laptop with windows xp on it. Setup is absolutely easy (you plug it in, run cd or browse for wireless networks and enter your SSID) and running a speed test gives me 3MPBS. If you have the setting in device manager (advanced tab) set to g/b you will only get 1MBPS speed. You may have to alter the setup.Cons:If my laptop has been idle there will be a second or two delay before gaining access to the router. Once connected though, I notice very little lag. Does not work at all on my windows 7 laptop.Bottom line:If you have an old laptop that only has WEP (b/g) connection, has a 32bit OS, and you want to make things faster this does the job. If you have a newer laptop or pc that you are trying to use this for, I'd suggest you look for another alternative.Other thoughts:I would really have given this 3 1/2 stars if half stars were allowed like on newegg. D-Link really needs to come up with a driver download that makes this work on windows7.

Plug n play. Installed my new D Link DIR 655 N router and bought this to upgrade my desktop from a G to N router. Didn't need any setup from what I can remember and has been stable. No drops and the speed has been close to the 8 MBPS that my ISP promises.The router is only one concrete wall away and 15 feet through a door - not sure I can comment on how well it receives signals at a distance.Only one downside - the stick is a little fat and it hampers the ability to use the second USB port.Update : May 12, 2011 : Consistent, no drops. Just works.....

I have always trusted D-Link products and this Wireless N USB adapter has exceeded my expectations. I have 2 computers, one being an Apple IMAC 3.06 duo core (which I recently sold) and an old ACER desktop with a PCI wireless network card. BOTH of my computers had problems connecting to my D-link G Rangebooster router. I thought out of two computers in the same location, it might not be my computers but perhaps my router. Before spending $80 or more on a new wireless router, I decided to invest $25 to the D-link DWA-125 USB Adapter and to my surprise it has worked flawlessly. No more going back and forth resetting my router and modem. This thing connects every time. HIGHLY recommended and a MUST BUY in my opinion.

The DLINK DWA-125 Wireless N adapter is a great device. It works flawlessly and the speeds are great.It installs very easily in Windows XP and Windows Vista.Overall a great device to add wireless capabilities to a desktop computer. We have been remodelling our offices and having a couple units around have proven extremely useful to instantly connect normally wired clients to the wireless network.The little "docking station" is very useful for this, desktop computer, application.Highly recommended.

First, I will say that it is very easy to install. Insert disc and follow the simple directions. Let me say that my Verizon router is downstairs on one side of the house and my d-link adapter is on my desktop (w/vista) upstairs on the other side of house so there are interfering walls and a floor. During the installation, it showed a 61% signal strength (3 out of 4 bars on d-link connection manager) which I thought it would cause a slowdown problem. Nope! Not at all. It is no problem at all as my computer feels as if it was connected with a wire. Web pages come on very quickly and I stream videos/movies with no buffer. It stays around 50-60% signal strength (3 out of 4 bars) and that is good enough for me. Wow! I am very pleased with this adapter's performance.

USB wireless stick is a good brand. This one came with no driver cd and the doc that comes with this was missing. Got just the wireless usb stick and nothing else

Item received in juast a few days with free super saver shipping. Price was better than anywhere else I looked.Very easy to install running windows xp pro. Modem and router are on first floor computer on second. Have had issues getting a signal up there on laptops in the past. This is attached to a Dell desk top and I get a great signal off of an old D-link G router so I was way happy with the ease of installation (took less than 5 minutes) and signal quality {4 of 5 bars}.Only negative is that it has a short USB cable. Have ordered a 10' USB extention from amazon.AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters)Should also work well when I upgrade my router. Would buy again

I'd call myself an advanced beginner when it comes to tech matters. After some frustration with the router bit recognizing this adapter, I called one of my sons in law and we rebooted the router, and that solved the problem. That was about two months ago. Since then this adapter has been working flawlessly. P.S. The tech support was of little help.

I purchased this because Kingston is a well known brand, and the price was right. I've had it a few days, and so far it works well (as expected), but it's design is terrible! First of all, the device is too wide, so it does not fit alongside another usb drive, if the usb ports on the computer are side by side; I've never had a problem like this with my other usb drives. Also, the cap on the 'business end' of the drive is so unbelievably tight it is really hard to remove, I almost want to use pliers. I probably would not buy this again for those 2 reasons.

Simple plug n play device. Works fine most of the time. I had a few freeze-ups but that may have been due to the DSL modem and my internet service rather than the adapter. I have a two-story house and have had no problems whatsoever. A definite positive recommendation.

This little device is easy to set up and use. It made my desktop an internet machine in just minutes. This is the second one I have purchased the first one is still working great after 7 months. The included stand works great on the new configuration. The price is right and it works. Speed is not an issue nor is working across the house 50 ft from the router.

I have had this installed on my HP laptop for about one month now after the built in adapter in my laptop quit working after about 3 years. It works okay but not as good as advertised. I have my router on my desk top downstairs and the D-link DWA-125 adapter on my laptop upstairs so it is only going through one floor. I have moved the router (d-link also)to different locations and adjusted the 3 antennas on the router and normally it only shows about 2 of 4 bars for signal strength of 40-45%. Today for some reason the signal strength is at 57% which is unusual. That is the highest I have seen it yet. I can't understand why it fluctuates that much when nothing in the surrounding area is moving to block the signal. I also notice some lag at times while searching the net which I attribute to a weakened signal.

The product may be okay; I hope it works. I ordered two. They were delivered promptly to my development mail box in a padded envelope. BOTH installation CDs were cracked, actually punctured, one worse than the other. I did not notice punctures of the envelope. I suspect a blunt object caused the damage. The devices are useless to me without installation software. I received the package late Friday so I must wait until Monday for assistance. I just hope I can download the software.

This adapter was extremely easy to install and has great range, even works on the computer furthest from the router where all other adapters I tried failed (Belkin F5D7050 , Netgear wg111v2 & Linksys WUSB54GC). Connecting to a Netgear WNDR3300 router with no problems so far.

Does not work! Plugged it in and my main machine can't see it and then it can and then it can't. Was able to access it once. I am taking this back and getting another brand! Oh yeah, called customer support, no help!
