Not a lot to say. The adapter was pretty much plug and play. The installation took a few minutes and it's working fine. I'm using it with a Cisco router and I am not having any problems with it. I am using a Compaq PC with Vista OS. I would buy one for my Mother.

I ordered this to connect to a Cisco-Linksys e2000 wireless-N router. The set-up was relatively easy and the signal strength was fine, but the best connection I could get was 65Mbps sitting next to the router. I bought a Cisco-Linksys WUSB600N wireless-N adapter that connected at the full 300Mbps on the same computer with no fuss. The D-Link will get returned and I'm buying another WUSB600N for the wife's computer. After this and past experiences, I'll wait a while before considering D-Link for anything again.

I have used the router for about a month now. Originally, I had it in the USB slot in back of a second desktop pc in another room; then I tried in the front slot. The signal in BOTH places was about 47%. So, I got a USB extension cord and placed the thumbdrive router unit on TOP of the desktop pc and the signal is a strong 85-89 percent. This may help your signal. I had to contact D-Link help and while the service was from India or the like, they were extremely helpful in getting me set up [I am a novice at wireless devices].

I bought this adapter to connect my WD Live TV to my Mac's network. I plugged it in, entered my password, and I was off and running. Since I wasn't connecting a computer, I didn't need any kind of software or drivers. The speed is great, and I can stream files and Netflix nice and smoothly. My only con? The blinking orange light, since I have it next to my TV. But, a little square of electrical tape took care of that.Nice that a product just works out of the box with no problems!

As far as the N wireless router is concerned it works pretty well. I actually get the 1.5mb second limit on it. although i have seen 1.6mb on this as well. im using it with an apple router and att fiber internet. for the price it works flawless i got it for 19.00 so lol cheaper than the local walmart.its pretty consistant only con with this the auto network detect didnt work. but all you have to do is select manual and type in your wireless network name. took me like 5 seconds literally. if there was a con i would say i wish it was 3mb sec.. haha

This product works really well. I use it to link my desktop computer to my router so that I can watch Netflix on my TV (being used as a monitor). It was easy to set up and get it going... I'm very happy with my purchase!!

It took me more than 2 hours to make it work with windows 7: wireless network disabled, and cannot be enabled. Called their support: useless. I asked the support whether Kaspersky anti-virus could be the problem she said no. It turns out the Kaspersky NDIS 6 filter needs to be checked off to have the wireless adapter work, the problem is not limited to this adapter. Hope this will help others.4 star because of the incompetent technical support, I was very close to return the product.

The wireless adapter works wonderfully! And it's so nice to use a USB slot instead of having to open up the computer and install a wireless card (even though that would be easy, too, it's that much easier just to plug it into one of the many USB slots that computers tend to have these days). It also makes it easy to transfer the wireless connectivity to other computers, which I haven't done yet, but the idea of it is nice! And I've had wireless cards in my computers, and had direct connections to modems, and I have to say that I cannot tell a difference in speed. This wireless adapter allows for super fast internet! If you're looking for easy wireless connectivity for a computer that doesn't already have a wireless card, this is a great product!

Item worked exactly as advertised. We used this USB device to conent a Dell Optiplex to a Linksys wireless router. Installation was pain free. The stick found our network and connected without issue. Highly recommend the device.

I am not very technologically savvy so when I ordered a computed from Dell and didnt have wireless installed, I was not thrilled. After doing some research, I found this wireless adapter that would allow my computer to connect to the internet. I have been using the adapter for two weeks and it is working great. The internet speed is fast and effective.

I received this adapter with a DLINK N router. I found it to work fairly well, although I could not test the speed due to my laptop limitations. Note that you should use this with the DLINK routers, since the "N" wireless standard is not yet, well, standardized. Also, this adapter has special speed capabilities when paired with a corresponding DLINK router.The adapter has a very unusual configuration. It comes with a USB cable that terminates in what looks like a wireless transmitter, but in fact is the base station for the actuall transmitter (which is pictured here). I suppose this allows one to get better reception, but it looks strange. The "antenna" portion has a removable cap, which is the black part pictured above.The instructions said to run the install wizard, which I did. This is not unusual. However, these wizards usually just install the drivers, and then Windows (I'm using XP) recognizes the adaptor when it is inserted. Instead, the wizard said to connect the adapter about 1/2 way through the install process. It then connected to my home network, including my typing in the security codes. The only problem is that once the wizard was finished, I had no connectivity. I rebooted my machine and used the Windows XP connection manager to scan for and connect to my network. After that it worked fine.I had my laptop only about 20 feet from the base station, and I only had 4 bars reception, so I'm not sure how well this adaptor will fulfill the long range requirement.For newer laptops with USB 2.0, this adaptor may work pretty well, but the unusual base station requires a lot of room in the laptop case. A PC-Card is much slimmer and easier to fit into that case. So I think that this adapter is best reserved for those with lots of room in their laptop case, or for desktop users who have the corresponding DLINK router.****** Update ******I finally hooked the device up to my laptop USB2 port (via PC card) to evaluate it's performance. The local area connection went to 130, as opposed to the normal 54. So far as Internet download goes, I'm restricted to 3 Mb anyway, so both this adapter and my internal Dell A/B minicard performed the same. However, if you were transferring files over the network between PCs, or using the network printer, this adapter is significantly faster than a standard one. If local network transfers are important, this this router/adaptor combination may be worth the extra money.Having used this for a while, I find that I actually like the light and the configuration with a separate USB base. I can easily see the internet blinking when activity is in progress. However, I am using my laptop in a static environment, so size and bulk don't matter. For traveling purposes I don't this this is the smallest option. But hooked up to a desktop with a matching D-Link router, the local LAN performance would be superior, and the extended cord would allow better antenna locations, away from the PC itself.

Bought this D-link Wireless USB Adapter to use with my Western Digital WD TV Live Plus 1080P HD Media Player. Awesome, just pluged it in and GO! Router is 3 rooms away and it works perfect. Highly recommend.

With an older computer that I have pieced together from spare parts, this adapter works really well. The installation was very simple, load the driver and follow the instructions. The internet runs really well with a linksys router and a cable modem. The range is good and the signal strength is great. This isn't the item to watch videos online, but a great addition for an older xp system that is used everyday. For the record, I bought a re manufactured one and it has served me well thus far after a easy price of 13.00.

I bought this to replace a bad built-in wirless card in my laptop. Within in a few minutes of hooking it up I was on the internet again, with good signal and connection speed. It had no issues with an almost four year old Dell running Windows Vista. The included dock is a nice feature and something that I did not see in comparable models in stores. As always, Amazon delivered a great product, with more features and less cost than those in "Big Box" stores.

Ordered this before realizing it was not the Version A1 FW 1.00 listed on the WD site as being compatible with the WD TV Live Plus Media Player. The one Amazon ships out is Ver A2 FW 1.3. Regardless, I received it today and tried it out anyway -- plugged it in straight out of the box without having previously updated my WD TV's firmware and it worked perfectly! Don't know if it will work the same way with the non-Plus version, but I'm glad it worked out for me despite my carelessness in reading version numbers.

This product didn't work and the technical support was terrible. I was on the phone with the tech support for about an hour and a half and we couldn't get it to work so they told me they would call me back later that night which they did not. DO NOT BUY THIS.

I've had my Dlink USB N adapter for about 1.5 years with two different desktops located respectively about 40 feet and 60 feet from my Dlink N wireless router. I've compared the signal strength on my desktops with Wi-Fi cards in several laptops, and this external USB adapter has the same connectivity. Initially I plugged the adapter directly into the USB port, but it seems to heavy and large (it can cover access to a neighboring USB port, and after accidentally knocking it roughly out twice, I decided to use the dock. Good move! Not only is it safe and frees up access to the neighboring USB port, but I can place the dock about 2 feet higher than the tower on the floor and get slight better network/Internet connection.

Bought this 3 weeks ago, was easy to install much faster than the onboard card (wired connection) of the Dell XPS M1330 it was bought for (Wireless card went dead. Seems to have a great range, I think it's great for the price.

Great value purchase. The item arrived quickly and worked right out of the box (Windows 7 x64). Installation time took less than 5 minutes. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the CD case was teared, but no big deal really as it works flawlessly.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit and needed a WiFi card for my PC, I decided on a dongle since it could be used with other devices as well (and is less invasive)I was prepared for the problems with drivers and proceeded to download the latest from the D-Link site.It worked without a problem and I'm posting this from my new connection. Initially I thought there was a mistake and that this device did not support 802.11n (draft) spec as my one router at home did not show up. But that was because I had configured it to run 802.11g on 2.5GHz and 802.11n on 5.0GHz on two separate ids. This device supports on 2.5GHz so I had to change my slower id to also support the N draft.decent expected speed, easy install, small footprint.Great so far.

I have a 802.11n router, a Buffalo (2.4Ghz-only), and a Netgear 11n Access Point (5Ghz-only), and I bought the DWA-160 because it's dual-band, and so I could utilize the Netgear AP. Getting the DWA-160 working with both my router and my AP (not at the same time :)) was pretty straightforward, and I was able to get "300mbps" to appear in Windows (XP and 7).However, the main application for which I got the DWA-160 is because I stream audio and video to my laptop, using a Slingbox, etc., and when I tried that, I found that the DWA-160 would constantly drop the connection (I tested with both the Buffalo 2.4Ghz router and the Netgear 5Ghz AP).I upgraded the DWA-160 to the latest driver, but still get the same problem, so I checked out the DWA-160 discussions on Dlink's forums, and it looks like "bad news". There were a number of threads about dropped connections.It appears that there are 2, or maybe 3, revisions of the DWA-160 (Rev. A, A1, and B), and the Rev. A/A1 utilize an Atheros chipset, whereas the Rev. B utilize a Ralink chipset. From Dlink's forum, it appears that it *may* be possible to eliminate the dropped connection with the Rev. B model, although I can't test this, since I have a Rev. A1.So, particularly if you're planning to stream audio or video, and are thinking of the DWA-160, be careful about this adapter. If possible, make sure you get a Rev. B, and also, since it's not 100% clear that even the Rev. B eliminates the dropped connections, get it from some place that will allow you to return it. In my case, I purchased a refurb via Amazon, so that's not an option.

I can't say how this would work with driver updates but I can warn you off of use with Win 7. It would not pick up any signals when using the "Win 7 driver update" or in Win 7 XP compatibility mode. After 4 days of configuration changes and tech support finally telling me to return it as defective I could not re-install my Belkin G (which was working fine, just wanted the dual band N) due to the D-Link REMOVING zero configuration service. Interestingly, I installed it on my XP laptop just out of curiosity before sending it back and it worked fine. Bought a Netgear AE1000 to replace it(after having to wipe my hard drive to get zero config back, good thing the PC was only a few weeks old) which installed flawlessly and has been reliable. Beware - You have been warned!

Good product. Does what it needs to do for my son's laptop. Has great wireless range for a USB adapter. Two CONs are that its a little bulky and the amber flashing blinking connection light is a bit much after awhile. Overall very good product though.

I know I should have read more carefully, but the version that is shipping from Amazon right now does NOT work with the WD Live TV device. The version listed on WD's site says it has to be the 1.0 firmware, but Amazon is currently shipping the 1.30 firmware. I'm sure that makes it a cheaper / more stable solution for computers, but it means that it doesn't work at all for the WD device. I tried it in my computer, and it works like a charm. But when connected to the WD device, I get no lights on the adapter or UI options within the WD interface to allow me to use wireless.

Just a warning to be careful of old versions of this adapter. I received a version A2 which did not work with my DIR-655 router. I returned it and could not get Amazon to ship me a version B1 which I knew was compatible. I went to Home Depot and got a version B1 and it worked fine.

This USB Wireless adapter works well. The only thing I would do different is make sure next time is it is shipped UPS. It was shipped USPS and they are very difficult to track!!! This one slipped by me.

D-Link DWA-160 works well HOWEVER there is no counterpart that can feed its capabilities. I used a D-Link 655 for years and it worked flawlessly. I wanted to upgrade to a system that would allow movie streaming at acceptable quality, SO I purchased the best multi-channel system. It simply does not work. We spent 2 to 3 hours 5 times with D-Link tech help just to get the router to "handshake" with 3 DWA-160 dual band USB adapters to work. Now I can enjoy constant drop out of audio only streaming. Constant dropout of video streaming. Now if I want to download a new application I must take a nap until it is finished because my used-to-be malfunctioning computer got retarded. I cannot stream videos any better that before the BEST UPGRADE on the market! I get to enjoy constant dropout!My purchase of this D-Link system has allowed me to again enjoy the simpler things in life. Naps. No sense of urgency has completely disappeared. I have learned to actually write notes and make appointments on a notepad.Am I recommending this device and its counterpart????? Only if you a week to set it up and then are willing to except 10% of the quality you were used to. I am seriously thinking about trashing the new stuff and go back to the 655 router and 111 adapters. D-Link does not have this technology any where near usuable.

To put it simply. Base router- is a dlink 625 so I bought this as a "compatible" connection just to run a remote wi-fi printer. This item installed perfectly in about 15 minutes..worked for a whole day. Next morning- no connection and no hope.Service was tedious and I spent more time than its worth trying to fix the problem. New Win 7 driver/reinstall. removal, reinstall fidget and fuss- nothing worked.I pulled it and slipped in a ten dollar Chinese no name which self installed and uses WEP. No problems since.

Replacing the old adapter cards with the D-Link DWA-125 wireless usb adapters ensured consistent and solid wireless connectivity not experienced previously. The D-Link DWA-125 with the USB connection and holding cradle solved our internet connection issues for a household with 5 wireless computers working at once. The Amazon price was better than purchasing locally.
