To my surprise I couldn't replace the router, but I needed to add it to the existing one because the DIR‑2660 does not have ADSL port. This is probably my bad for not reading specs correctly.
However, what makes the DIR‑2660 not worth it is that, not only the signal of the wifi is pretty much the same as the other basic router being 10 meters away, but also that, when I moved both around 7 meters away from TV, the signal from the basic router was much better received not only by the TV, but also by the sound bar and other devices.
After 2 months of using it with no results, now I've got a £100 item in the storage room in it's box.
Useless

I bought this and a modem to replaces my Comcast gateway and save the $13/mo. That said, the Gateway seemed to provide faster wifi around my house than this AC2600 router is able to do. It does seem to have more range than the Comcast Gateway but, not by all that much.
Also, now it deletes my internet account every time I reboot it which means its one step away from either being fixed or its $140 in the trash.

Started having trouble immediately, when I noticed it would take my devices at least a full minute to find/connect to the network. Then it started being impossible to find at all, until I restarted the router (this was a month into owning it). This happened more and more often, sometimes requiring two or three restarts before the network showed up. Finally, three months after purchasing it, it stopped working altogether. It was powered on, all lights showing it was connected to internet and broadcasting both bands, but no amount of modem/router power cycles could make it actually produce a wi-fi signal. Continued troubleshooting for a couple of days before giving up.
Waste of my time and money. Do yourself a favor and avoid this router.

I've setup literally dozens and dozens of routers over the years for various people, but this is the first one i've ever had problems with and the first D-Link i've ever encountered, and it will be the last!
Firstly the setup was horrendous, the app refused to see the router time and time again, when it finally did see it it wouldn't accept the "blank" password that D-Link web and supplied documents say it is, so after a factory reset ( as the app suggests, it still wouldn't work so after 2 hrs I resorted to plugging it in directly to my pc and using the web interface instead, then despite setting it up several times it would NOT keep the settings and kept resorting to defaults! Yet another factory reset was performed, this time it would only accept one change at a time before you had to perform a FULL reboot otherwise it would reset itself, after 5+ hrs of this it was finally setup, and what a waste of time it was because the range is absolutely abyssal! No matter what room I tried it would only work through a single light block wall, not even brick! Then standing outside my 2m x 3,5m huge window with the router on the table just 7 metres away it could barely manage "Poor" signal strength, compared to my old one which showed Excellent! In the end I gave up and its been returned, by far the worst Router I have EVER had the misfortune to come across.

If like me you were using a Sky modem with add on boxes as WiFi extenders, that is good for a while, but soon the stranglehold of bandwidth and hardwire inputs are needed.
This us the D-Link DIR-3060, this has so many features that even the features have features! Simple connect your network cable from your Sky modem to this router, and transfer all connections to the new D-Link Wi-Fi and disable Sky (except for TV, that runs better and is a nightmare to reconfigure, but possible with a lot of faff.
The bonus is you can set it all up via the D-Link app, add remove devices easily, create a guest Wi-Fi account, create kids profiles so you can control what they see and when, pause their connection when they play up and even add security to devices with McAfee. There are moments on installation that are frustrating, but that's networking for you. But fortunately there are enough online videos sorting this.
I won't lie, this is a big unit, it measures 22.2 x 20.1 x 5.9cm and weighs 580g.you get power lead and network cable provided. The unit becomes bigger with aerials poking out everywhere like an alien spider.
You can connect this to Alexa, but there are a few teething issues. Also I would set up the whole process with iOS as it seems to run smoother. Ensure you validate your email as soon as possible too.
Overall I am pretty pleased with this router, it is just a shame I have to invest when my Internet provider should do it for me.

We have 3 adults and 1 child living here. Multiple xboxes, cell phones, smart TVs and computers. ZERO ISSUES.
Beyond satisfied with this router. It checks all the boxes: easy set up, fantastic range, no issues with multiple devices, and looks good!

The only challenge was proper antenna positioning, had to surf the internet quite a bit. Ended up with rear antennas headed straight vertical, front ones slightly inclined with 105 degrees between them, as on official pictures. Always check wifi signal strength, because every home is different: I used android apps - IOS does not allow you to see wifi tech details for some reason.

This router has loads of features, is very easy to set up, the box is responsive and on the whole it was great ... however ... my TP-Link Kasa Smart plugs constantly lost network connection, I have 2 in totally different parts of the house, they work perfectly and consistently with my ISP router, however the minute I wired up the D-Link router I had problems, they kept going offline and I had to keep turning them off then on again. D-Link suggested I disable some of the smart features of the router, but if I did that I might as well save money and get a cheaper router. In the end I had to return it and my Kasa plugs went back to working perfectly on my ISP router. I do not know why this was a problem or why only those 2 plugs were affected, every other light and plug, mainly generic Smartlife kit, all worked fine.

One star off for the fact it doesn't have the following options:
- Remote router management
- Lack of SMB v2 or v3 (SMB v1 got deprecated by Windows due to security concerns)
This is a shame considering the router has 2x USB ports, but the other options you can switch on are Media Streaming Device and an FTP Server, but these are nowhere as practical as being able to map a network drive over SMB and use it natively across multiple computers on the network. I was hoping for this functionality, but now I got to use a dedicated Windows 10 mini-PC as an SMB server instead.

For instance today it stopped providing internet out of all 4 wired ports, and the wifi was no longer working. I could connect if I plugged directly into my modem so it had to be the router. Rebooting it, no good. Rebooting it and rebooting my modem, no luck. Factory resetting it, no luck. I spent over an hour getting it back up and running. Had to reset it multiple times just to get it to finally get back to a point where it would connect. Honestly I'd be willing to give it a pass if this were one time occurrence. It's not. I've had to completely reset the router 3 - 4 times now after having it for a little over 2 months. Each time I have to set the whole system back up again.
The 2nd time I was having issues with it I contacted d-link chat support and asked about it. I couldn't access the settings from my desktop that was connected directly to the router but could through my laptop on the wifi. The support didn't see any issue with this after troubleshooting with me for 45 minutes. Why would you want to access the router settings from your desktop if you can get to them from your laptop? Ultimately they recommended I call in which was just as unhelpful as their online chat. Again had to completely reset the router for it to begin working again.
So all in all if you want a router you can depend to run for only a week or two this is the router for you. Otherwise I'd recommend finding something else. I would not recommend this router to a friend and I hope you have better luck with it than I have.

10:37:13 AM [Me] I can't login to the router if I am plugged directly into my modem
10:37:35 AM [Me] should I plug into the router without the router being plugged into the modem?
10:38:16 AM [Maria]
what settings are you trying to configure on the router?
10:38:31 AM [Maria]
you can directly hook up your computer to the router
10:38:59 AM [Maria]
and internet won't be necessary -- just type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar
10:40:03 AM [Me] the issue is that when I try to login to the router (which I need to have online for wifi) it pops up with "Device not found" then logs me out. I can't change any settings
10:41:22 AM [Maria]
using laptop connected to wifi, can you access internet?
10:41:44 AM [Me] yes
10:42:33 AM [Maria]
then use the laptop instead to do some changes on the router

-It has stopped ethernet drop outs on my laptop
-It has increased wifi speed on smartphone (80Mbs before, 150Mbs now)
-It has increased wifi coverage by about 10m
-It was easier to set up than I thought it would be. Scan code on app, go through guide and it's all done in 6 or 7 minutes.
I'd say that after initial set up - to go through the web interface on browser to change any settings as the android app seemed to rebot the router twice when I hadn't asked it to.
The only minus is that external harddrives attached to it via USB have a limit of 2 TB size, which means my 5TB HDD can't connect to it, but that's minorflaw.

For the past couple weeks wifi got much worse, it would be impossible to browse the web without the signal dying and then going on randomly. Overall it was starting to really question why i was even paying virgin media anymore despite the fact i KNOW for i have good internet. I pay a lot of money for it. The router was a complete bust
My connections the past couple of weeks were really irritating me, worse than usual. So i decided to invest in a router and after spending days looking around i found this one. I have to say, its really impressed me. You are able to prioritise connections too. So of course i made my PS4 the highest priority and going online playing fighting games.... its just been too good.
WHY DIDNT I BUY A ROUTER AGES AGO! best £80 ive spent in a while. Set up was so easy too, connect the D-Link to the router you own. When you connect everything make sure you put the default router you have into modem mode so you can use this new router. All your devices will disconnect since you just put the router into modem mode. Then when you go to connect to wifi setting you will see your new router, connect... And enjoy
The only negative thing i can think of is the tiny power wire for the router. Its really short so i had to change around my set up a bit

The USB HDD features are good but the transfer speeds to/from connected USB devices is slow as molasses (even on a wired connection).
I bought this based on brand reputation, reviews, and specs but it has been nothing but a disappointment. I do not recommend this router.

Aside from that, the management interface is ridiculously lacking for such an expensive router. Even in advanced mode you can’t do much more than change some basic settings through “wizards”. I’ve had the router for a few months and I’m finally sick of it, so replacing it with an edgerouter and unifi AP. Wish I just went that way in the first place, rather than overpaying for a low grade generic home router in a fancy plastic shell.

The first issue was that I didn't fully research the product and once I recieved it I found that it doesn't support AP mode and only supports router mode which wasn't suitable for my environment as I only wanted it for its AX wifi capabilitys. I worked round that by installing it with the DHCP server turned off and connecting a lan port tomy networks lan so it would just work as an AP.
This seemed fine and the performance of the device seemed great, AX devices (Oneplus 8 pro, Oculus quest 2) connected and reported a 1200Mbps 5ghz connection, streaming my desktop pc to the Oculus worked great..........until the next day where no device could connect to the 5Ghz and could only connect to the 2.4ghz. I rebooted the router and the 5Ghz worked great again.
Over the next week I found that some days the 5Ghz had disapeared, or my devices couldn't get an IP adddress, or they got a connection which reported 1200Mbps but the actual throughput was closer to 5Mbps at best.
I recently upgraded to the newest 1.3 firmware but the same issue occured within 2 days, so I am now returning it.
I assume that the device has some sort of memory leak which is causing the perfomance to degrade over time (it actually has a weekly scheduled reboot set as default) which may get fixed in later firmware but I'm not willing to wait for that given the devices limitations.
Going to go with a Redmi AX6 and see if that works better for a similar price.

I kept my old connection on my surfboard for guest to connect and turned off the 2.5 network so our personal use will connect automatically to the 5 GH network. I would definitely recommend this to my friends without hesitation.

D-Link defend problems.
The software is slow in accepting new devices onto the network. It would appear I have to accept it as a trusted device before it allows the device access to the network. Confusing I know. Basically I have to put network code into new device, try to connect, wait for the rejection, open up the software accept new device, reconnect the device and then it works ok.
