Perfect size,even with a battery pack attached to the printer. Very good quality. The top cover also provides space for the print tray and extra cards.

This took me a week to install with my iMac running OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). The software CD did not contain the driver. In fact the Install Files folder only contained two Read Me docs. At one point I had to connect it to the Mac with a USB which is not supplied - it is a wireless printer. Canon support advised me to download the driver from the website. I could print to the printer when connected by USB but not wirelessly. Several emails went back and forth. I installed it on a Windows 7 laptop and it worked perfectly and wirelessly first time. Canon support were good but eventually suggested I contact my ISP or Apple to check their side of things. Canon also re-sent me the link to the driver, which I downloaded again and, bizarrely, it worked - one week after purchase. I have been on many Mac forums and there does seem to be a problem with this printer connecting to Mac OS X 10.8. But it finally worked and the results are good.

Canon help forums full of questions from buyers as to why and when for windows 8 support, responses from Canon saying none, and we don't care...
And I was going to buy a high end Canon SLR too. Not now.

This is very useful. Quite pricey but worth it. As well as the printer, all the cables and accessories fit neatly inside. I hesitated when buying it because I wondered whether I really needed it and could justify the expense but I'm pleased to say that it's definitely worth the money. So easy to just pick it up and go. Good for ensuing you don't lose any of the accessories when storing the printer too.

.. and I was positively surprised how small it is, still having wifi support, allowing AirPrint from iDevice or network connected computer as well print directly from camera or from sd card with essential edit functions built in and finally how good actually is 4x6 postcard photo quality. Delivered as expected, just be sure to order consumables with your printer.

I liked this printer at first and actually bought two of them, both an ES30 and ES40. However, since upgrading my Mac to Mountain Lion some six months ago, they have been unusable. When one tries to download a driver at the Canon web site, one gets a message, "Content for OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion will be available soon. In the meantime, please use OS X v10.7 Lion content as a possible alternative." This message has been in place for approximately six months.However I cannot install the 10.7 driver in Mountain Lion, as the operating system 10.8 complains that the 10.7 driver is incompatible. I have called the support number at Canon, without success. The support person could give no time frame for the appearance of a new driver, nor even tell whether a new driver will ever appear. This means I have not been able to use my printers for approximately six months.I find totally unacceptable this abandonment--without warning or explanation--of a printer that has very complementary reviews. This experience with this model of Canon photo printer, especially the lack of information or useful help from the support group at Canon, leaves me with grave doubts about Canon products. I plan in the future to purchase no other Canon printer, camera, or other electronic component that requires a Canon software driver to interface with my computers.

not self contained to many extras required expencive. very poor descriptive on site details. disappointed.bought a cheap throw away printer. hate the cost of cartridges.

I have just received my Canon Selphy CP800 and now find I cannot print my photos off because I need an adapter for my XD memory card so am not impressed. Have looked on this site for the adapter but cannot seem to find one, if I am unable to buy one then the printer is totally usless and will be sent back for a refund. Can anyone tell me where I can get the adapter please.

I have deleted my former review (4-STARS) on this little printer. I got it used, in like new condition, and at a really real bargain price. As it turns out it is a much better printer than I had at first thought. People are impressed with the sharpness and image tonal quality of the prints. I formally was overly influenced by bad reviews posted on the net. Also, I thought that it was an important shortcoming that the printer is A/C only and couldn't run on batteries. Well, it works fine on my XPOWER POCKET POWERPACK 100. This is a NiMh battery pack that includes a pocket size (12 volt DC to 120 Volt AC) inverter. With this set-up I can leave it and the printer on all day and not come anywhere near power down. I've had this POWERPACK for years, it has other uses in emergencies, so it's not an additional expense.I had wanted a printer that I could use to make prints on site at the local dog park. This way I could give away free prints to the dog owners and then nobody would mind my running around shooting pictures. Now, when I do this, I actually make new friends.Okay, so the cost: I am able to get generic ink cartridges at very low cost through Amazon. I can use cheap glossy photo paper ($1.00 for eight 8.5"X11" sheets at the local "Dollar Store.") I use a standard paper cutter to cut the large sheets into 12 wallet size per sheet. Eight sheets times twelve wallet size prints equals 96 picture per $1.00 pack of photo paper.The SELPHY printer connects directly to all my Canon cameras and prints out wallet size prints (or 4"X6") in very little time. Print controls built into my canon cameras and this printer include the very important image cropping function. The bottom line: this is really a very cheap way to make friends. Everyone loves to get free wallet size pictures of themselves, their children, and their dogs.UPDATE: a few hours later.I downloaded the printer driver from Canon for my Web Book running 32 bit Windows XP. I couldn't find the product CD. No problem. The printer now works properly with my Eee PC. You know what, I think that my printer was manufactured after the initial negative reviews were published. I think Canon fixed the problems before my SELPHY DS810 was manufactured.

A really handy device when you want to print pictures at home! The WiFi makes the printing even easier and you don't have to trip over cables or anything.
I bought this as a present to my girlfriend and she loved it. You can make scrap books from your holiday trips easily or have some cool postcards to send from your holidays since this machine is so light you can carry it with you. Some might think that it's easier to take a picture with your phone and then send it electronically, but I still like sending postcards and having printed pictures around the house.

The print quality is generally decent, prints fine from phones. Fine from cards/flash drives. No drivers for Windows 8 and OS X Mavericks. Deal breaker.

Anyone contemplating buying this Canon photo printer should understand, it is just the basic unit and doesn't include ink, paper, USB lead, or battery. These items are quite expensive and perhaps worth bearing in mind before you decide to buy.
Furthermore, there is a 'bundle option' available from Amazon, which represents better value for money.

Printwise it works fine.
It does not seem to like jpeg files edited on a pc prior to dumping on a USB memory chip.
It seems natural to rotate images etc to make printing easier.
It just displays a big question mark.
I do not understand the source of the restriction.

It did not do as I wanted it to. I wanted 6x4 photos and I could not work out to print them using 6x4 paper
