I have used this product alot and will alot more in the future I bought a battery hoping that it would slot in somewhere and after finding out it needs a battery adapter which cost more then the printer I bought an inverter and run it from a car socket while on the go.

I gave my wife the Canon SELPHY on Christmas Day ......but was very disappointed to find there was no INK.....& worse not even clear instructions
as to what INK TO ORDER .
So until we source the correct INK I cant review the product-----VERY ANNOYING!
Canon should issue a warning on their box to say "Please note INK is NOT included.....please order xxx"

I had the earlier version of this printer (CP300 with battery) and loved it. For travel reasons, I picked up the latest CP800.First of all, there is not much design change from the earlier version with the exception of the LCD screen.Here are my observations:1. the tray door on the printer is still very flimsy. Applying light pressure, the door hinge breaks (which happened to my old CP300) and the design has not improved over the years. If you have the paper tray in the printer and if you lift the printer to move it, chances are, when you put the printer down, you will break that door. Canon engineers never traveled with this printer or they just designed this to fail on purpose2. the printer is black, however, the paper tray and power supply are white. When I opened the box, the whole thing looks like a going-out-of-business sale with non-matching components. Does it kill Canon to have matching colors?3. the power supply is humongous. It is almost half the size of the printer. I understand it has to deliver 2.2 A of power at 24V. But lots of laptop power supplies delivers much more power than this and still have much smaller bodies. This humongous power supply almost defeats the purpose of having a travel printer. Apparently, Canon engineers do not understand how its customers would use the printer. I will use one of my much smaller, old laptop power supplies instead4. there is no USB cable. IMHO, a cable with type B connector should be provided for use with computers. And this will spare customers to search for a not-so-common B connector USB cable. Apparently, it would kill Canon to include a cheap USB cable5. Is it necessary to use a piece of non-printable paper as the first page in every paper pack? Paper packs in Canon's KP-108IN do not have this non-printable first page. For some users (such as my careless friend), this ruins their very first print job. Canon, first impression of any product is very important. Take notes.6. The paper tray is too complicated than necessary. Opening two pieces of cover to load paper is not intuitive. And the flimsy plastic can easily break7. After so many iterations, Canon still does not know how to build printer drivers into the printer itself for Windows and Mac despite the fact the printer has internal memory nor it understands how to build a true plug-and-play printerMy conclusion is, Canon engineers are too lazy to built a sturdier, user-friendly travel printer and do not understand how its customers use this printer. The Selphy printer is a good MBA case study how stupid thoughtless lazy design eventually kills an otherwise innovative idea.

This is a very compact and very convenient printer for producing 6" x 4" prints, credit card size ones or stickers. It's a dye sub printer rather than an inkjet and prints on a plasticy type paper. Manual says the prints are waterproof so I ran one under a tap and it lived up to the claims. Says prints will last a 100 years, which is a lot longer than an SD card or a computer, not sure how to test that though :-). Prints are pretty good quality, although a couple needed an extra bit of 'Brightness' from the on screen menu as they were a little on the dark side. One word of warning: to use the credit card size paper you need to get a seperate paper cassette product code PCC-CP400. Overall very good an highly recommended.
Update: as with any printer image quality depends on the source material - you really can see the difference between photos taken on a compact and a DSLR. Don't think much of the supplied software, much easier to put photos onto a SD card or USB stick.

I strongly advise that you don't buy this product if you use a Mac.
Cannon have not bothered to upgrade their software so I can't install software on my MAC running 10.9.1
Using the adhoc mode and the iPhone App does not work, as the app doesn't recognise that the iPhone is linked to the device in ad hoc mode so there is no way to print my photos off my iPhone.
Really poor - Cannon need to get their act together.

A couple of things to be aware of with this printer: firstly, it does NOT come with either ribbon or paper included, you need to buy those separately, or be very frustrated that you can't try out your new purchase at once. Best value box set is the KP-108IN, with 3 ribbons and 108 sheets of 4x6 paper.
Secondly, for anyone on Mac running Mountain Lion, the included software disc does NOT support Mountain Lion. Yeah, really. How long has Mountain Lion been available now? Must do better, Canon. Anyway, you'll have to go to Canon UK website/support and download the appropriate driver from there.
Once you get past these initial hurdles, things get better. The printer is compact, but rattles out prints within a minute, and the colours are pretty accurate right out of the box - I haven't even bothered with profiles. The Canon Easy Print app (from your app store) lets you print by wi-if direct from your phone or iPad with no hassle. You could carry the whole thing easily to an event, and print onsite. If you just want something to print the occasional snap from your phone, or a set of holiday prints right from the memory card or computer, this is ideal. Easy to set up and simple to operate - what more do you need?
(Well, a ribbon and some paper in the box would be nice!)

This was a gift for my daughter who uses it all the time for printing pictures wirelessly from her iphone.
Pictures have good clarity and look like they will last.
Bear in mind that separate ink and photo paper need to be bought for this as it's not part of the pack.

Bought this for my 94yr old Mum she loves packing her printer and camera in the bag when staying away from home. Its very good pockets to keep bits in she knows where to find everything.It is very well made and looks nice.

The Canon Selphy is an uber-dinky sub-dye printer. Whilst this may not mean much to the layman, sub dye is one of the best ways to achieve lush, continuous tones in photographic printing.
The printer comes with a power pack and a tray that holds the blank paper (4x6in). There is no, I repeat, no paper or ribbon cartridge with this printer so you will need to buy on before using this. I recommend the 108 print pack which goes for about

Product works fine and produces good quality prints. However the description doesn't make it clear that you have to make a separate purchase of both ink AND paper!
Also the software to send by WFI doesn't work with Windows 8 and there are no plans to release at the moment!

Bought this for my student daughters Christmas. Really liked the size of the printer, only disappointing thing was there was not paper with this so she couldn't print photo's on Christmas Day.

I absolutely love this little printer, I'm not very good with technology but this is so simple to set up and print from my iphone, really good, clear photo's.
I also bought the bag to store everything in and it does, everything fits in very neatly, the machine, plug, paper cassette and extra paper and ink cartridges. Don't forget to buy the paper/ink cartridge separately because the printer doesn't come with that.

The carry case is the perfect size for the printer, very compact. It has adjustable padded space bars these are great for keeping everything secure. Would highly recommend this product.

This has a hand book but it is written with too many warnings of what not to do, but it does have step by step instructions once you get to them. wifi setup was simple and picture printing software is easy to use. After that however the prints are EXCELLENT!
