I bought this as a present to my girlfriend and she loved it. You can make scrap books from your holiday trips easily or have some cool postcards to send from your holidays since this machine is so light you can carry it with you. Some might think that it's easier to take a picture with your phone and then send it electronically, but I still like sending postcards and having printed pictures around the house.
Furthermore, there is a 'bundle option' available from Amazon, which represents better value for money.
Bundle Portable Printer KP 108in cartridge
It does not seem to like jpeg files edited on a pc prior to dumping on a USB memory chip.
It seems natural to rotate images etc to make printing easier.
It just displays a big question mark.
I do not understand the source of the restriction.
If you look for the issue on the web you'll see various fixes that include changing a line of java script from another driver- This didn't work either.
That said if you want to use it standalone printing via an SD card then away you go. The colours looked fine to me.
I bought mine in the UK but I live in West Africa, and decided not to unbox it until we'd flown back here. If I was still in the UK I'd have sent it back.
Poor show by Canon in my opinion.
Print quality is good for a dye sub printer.
Colour quality is also good without messing around with icc profiles.
The Selphy CP900 is awkward and cumbersome to carry and store, and the cartridge for the paper is a bit of a nuisance
as it sticks out, the screen is small, it did print out a very clear photo and I haven't had much time to use it at the moment,
I also think it may be expenive to use, I also have some photo paper which I can't use with it
but I have got it now so will have to make the best of it. I wouldn't recomend it.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a photo printer for family use!
Should have thought better and sooner.
David Ashwin..
I'd like to copy in the Support thread from Canon.
They have absolutely no interest in making this product work in Windows 8, in fact blaming Microsoft.
This is a worrying issue and dramatically reduces the value of the product.
The workaround is to save to USB/SD and print from that instead.
[blink]
The good news is that the product works very well, is fast (I was able to print full colour in <30 seconds), has a good image quality and paper ink seem robust.
The printer may even have been a 4/5 star item if not for the response form Canon Support.
Only to find you cannot use it - because it dose not come with ink or paper.
Like a new car without a steering wheel.

Took about 10 minutes to set up then I was printing from my SD card. At first had problems printing from my iPhone, but after a few attempts it works perfectly.
Would recommend this machine to others especially if you they want different size photographs other than 6x4.
