- + Компактные размеры. Простота установки и эксплуатации. WIFI.

It WILL install on my Netbook PC running XP Home but the program wont run/open and hangs on the splash screen despite it being sold as XP compatible, it isn't. In fact after speaking to a Canon customer services representative, it appears it's hardly compatible with anything.
2)Connectivity Issues - Unit is sold as WiFi but was not aware that it needs to be connected to a wireless network and it wont connect direct despite it being marketed as portable and wireless. Ad Hock mode is not supported for iphone or Android devices so what IS it compatible with I wonder? I bought this so I could take it out with me and print photos on the move or when away from my office from my smartphone so it defeats the object if it has to be connected to a network before it can print. I tried connecting my phone via USB but this was hit and miss whether it would connect or not and when it does it fails to recognise half the photos on the phone and completely fails to recognise anything on the phone's internal memory and only partially recognises the external SD card. I found it was easier to take the SD card out of my phone and insert it in the card slot (via an adapter) on the printer, but even then, half the photos/thumbnails appear as blank (question mark) so I cant see what it is that I want to print. The only way I have managed to get this to work is via the Andriod App, however this doesn't support different print sizes/formats like thumbnail prints or 4 on a page etc so im stuck at having to print 4x6 photos. I bought this so I could do both so again not much use to me. People say a workaround is to transfer the photos to a USB drive first but that requires being at my PC at home. If im gonna do that I may as well use my home printer.
3)Quality Issue - Occasionally the prints have come out with slight dye marks and streaks on the photos meaning they had to be redone. Not a major issue as this only happened every so often but still annoying and shouldn't happen.
4)Ink cartridge running out before paper - The cartridges and the ink are sold as one as the ink is supposed to last as long as the amount of sheets in the pack. However this is not the case. My cartridge ran out well before the paper had been used up leaving me with paper I could not use as Canon don't sell ink separately. Contacted Canon who said that this is a known issue (yet it never mentioned this on the description or in the manual) that every time the printer is used then turned off and on again the ink spool is wound on by one photo, meaning every time you print then switch it off/on you lose 1 photo. This doesnt happen if you turn off/on without doing any printing. For some reason it only seems to happen after printing and the unit it turned off. This means if you print one photo and turn it off you will lose one when the unit it turned back on again. Canon's advice to this was to either leave it permanently switched on or print out a whole cartridge (36 Prints) at once. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! This printer was sold as portable therefore how can you port it about without disconnecting the power and therefore losing ink? I dont want to print out 36 photos at once so losing ink is inevitable.
This printer is NOT fit for purpose and having been a die hard Canon supporter I may be inclined to buy from another manufacturer next time. I have returned this unit for a full refund but beware if you buy the carry case they wont refund you unless its faulty even though I argued that the case was no good without the printer so it's ended up costing me
Good level of padding and the printer is strapped down with velcro straps to stop it moving about. A padded divider helps to separate the bag up while offering protection on the inside. I really do like the design of the bag. Canon has clearly thought about the layout while paying attention to protecting the printer inside without making the bag big and bulky.
Pocket on the outside is great for extra paper, business cards etc. And as well as the handle on the top there is a fixed strap which is not removable unfortunately. The fixed handle and colour of the bag are the only let downs on this product.
The creamy white colour is not bad and it doesn't offend me but mine does travel a lot so its starting to look quite dirty. I can live with it. The gray version was not available when I purchased the printer. The main annoyance is the fixed strap. On my version of the bag it's sown to the bag which makes it very strong but having the option to remove it would be nice as I keep getting it caught when carrying it from the handle.
Overall, a great bag which offers brilliant protection and space to carrie all of the extras you'll need to go with your Selphy printer.
I didn't hesitate to buy the model they suggested as it was the latest one. But after receiving the printer I still couldn't get my MAC to work with the driver. Then Canon advised me they don't support it on the OSX 10.9 upwards!
Luckily some tech-nerd had already posted a hacked driver onto the Apple forum, (where I found loads of issues with Canon printers) but the file went in easily and Ive had no problems. Not really a reflection on the product, but check compatibility first.
As for the photos, they are top quality. The nearest thing to lab quality photos you'll get. Streets ahead of any ink jet printer. Perfect results every time. I had my CP200 for over 7 or 8 years, never a problem. The only downside is the 6 x 4 max size. But you can print credit card size and small stickers, so its also a bit of fun.
The best function for me is being able to print directly from my I-phone, I-pad or SD card, so perfect for my GF to simply turn it on and print out a picture, via a free app. (without running up the MAC)
The consumables can be expensive, but who prints hundreds of photos these days. I don't mind the average cost, as its so handy to turn it on and print out the few good pics I get to (To either pin up, put in frames or just to give to friends on the spot) So many of my photos never get printed out.
Despite Canons poor attitude, I still think this type of printer is the nearest to a lab quality you'll get. And it was less than
This printer's so versatile that from taking the photo to completed printing is less than a minute, even quicker if you dont chose to edit or crop. Nobody really prints photos off any more, I went to another wedding, photographed the ceremony and printed off some photos and placed them on the top table for the bride and groom before they sat down, it helped make their day special. it works out at 27p per print, which given u can have them s quickly is cheaper and quicker than going to boots.
Imagine going to a school reunion knowing you wont see them again, taking the photos and giving them hard copies before they left. Honestly I cannot rate this printer high enough, if I was being hyper critical, i would say that on average i get 5 rejects per paperpack due to colour inconsistencies, but it doesnt matter because i just reprinted, and your friends wouldnt care anyway!
If you are a photo person, buy one of these, its small, portable ( you can get a battery pack seperatly) easy to use and does an excellent job of printing photos( it puts one colour on at once) . This is one purchase you will never regret, i have used mine for christenings, birthday parties, family gatherings and two weddings. I print out photos whilst im there, and pass them on to the people concerned which often leads to another saying oooh could i get one of those. The paper packs come in 6 x 4 so its all good. you could run two memory cards leave one to print whilst you are using the second...
I have used this device with my mobile, and works fine with the app. However, I prefer to use with my pc as there are more options, such as allowing you to print up to 8 photos to a page, adding borders, text and simple editing of photos.
My new printer had to offer quick and fuss free printing of photos from my camera or phone.
The Canon Selphy looked to be a good bet, and it is a joy to use. Install the ribbon cassette and put the paper in the paper tray and off you go.
The printer uses dye sublimation and to produce a photo, the paper is passed through the printer four times. Each pass adds another layer of dye, or the final protective layer to keep it clean and mark free for a long lifetime.
The print quality is outstanding. There is no visible banding or pixilation and the finished print is as good as any I've seen from anywhere. In printer features allow for basic editing and offers various print styles such as passport pictures
Printing from USB, SD Cards, Android or Apple phones via the Canon App or direct from your PC, the range of options is very good. Sadly, Canon have decided not to produce software for Windows 8. The software runs on any Windows OS up to and including Windows 7. That's a shame, but copying an image out to USB or an SD Card gets over that one.
All in all, I'm delighted with this printer and would recommend it to anyone wanting high quality, easy to use and fuss free printing.
The pluses are -
- good speed of print out
- high quality photos, that look very professional - easily better than standard ink jet photo printers
- easy to use with SD/MMC card or USB cable.
The downsides -
- Canon support is woeful. It seems as they've already made this printer end of life.
- NO Windows 8 or 8.1 support (and appears they have no plans to add). Bizarre approach to take.
- NO Apple OS Mavericks support. Again, disgraceful stance. After hunting on the internet, I found a way to adapt the Mountain Lion driver to work under Mavericks, in about 5 minutes by altering the install package - but why have Canon not released this already?
- Very flakey WiFi - Infrastructure mode is so hit and miss - can connect no problems, then the next time you turn it on, Wifi connection is gone - even though printer hasn't moved, and router is still 3 feet away.
In summary - a good buy, but check your Operating System first, and don't assume it will support the latest versions.
I'd also strongly consider the cheaper Canon SELPHY CP810 Compact Photo Printer - White as you don't get the Wifi, but it's hit or miss anyway, easier to use the cable. However, be careful with prices, as often they hover quite close - you should be able to get the CP810 for
At parties, we now chronicle the night, sticking the photos on the fridge as we go. Perfect for a photo booth at a wedding/party too as everyone goes home with a photo of themselves.
Pros:
Small size- easy to carry.
Easy to use.
Has an app so friends can send pictures to print too.
Easy to reload paper/ink.
Fairly quiet.
Works best through Wifi, but also takes SD cards and USBs.
Cons:
Although the printer is cheap enough to buy, paper and ink is a bit pricey.
Not so great if no wifi is available.
Can buy a special bag separately, but also a bit pricey.
1. Setup the CP900
2. Configure wi-fi in infrastructure mode (i.e. connecting to an access point)
3. Disable driver signing enforcement in Windows 8:
• From the Charms bar, select Settings then Change PC Settings.
• Select General and scroll down to Advanced Startup and click restart now.
• From the menu, select troubleshooting then Advanced Options then windows startup options.
• Restart again and select number 7, Disable driver signature enforcement.
• PC will boot up as normal.
4. Download the right driver application (i.e. Windows 7 64 bit in my case) from the Canon website, or find it in the correct folder on the supplied DVD-ROM
• Now Right Click the driver application file and select troubleshoot compatibility.
• Go through the procedure and tell it that the driver worked in Windows 7
• Click on Test and the driver should then install and work - there may be an error message but it can be ignored.
Using the above I was able to print from a PC, and also from an Android smartphone by downloading the Canon Easy Photo Printer (EPP) from Play Store.
But the second problem was that the iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch version of EPP wouldn’t work – I just got a ‘No printer can be found‘ message. I finally found that this could be resolved by temporarily switching the Wi-Fi configuration of the CP900 to ‘Ad-hoc’ mode and connecting the Apple devices to this – they could then see the CP900 and print photos. However this work-around means a constant switching of wi-fi settings.
Overall – it’s hard to recommend this printer if you have Windows 8 (or plan to upgrade to it), and/or want to print from Apple mobile devices. Hopefully Canon will sort these quite serious problems out quickly – 4* or even 5* may then be merited.
