This is the perfect camera, very good in all respects. over the years i have bought like ten cameras from the point and shoot tho the SLR, and this one is about as good as it gets.Highly recommended, there are no dislikes for this camera.

cant hold camera and take a pic without accidently hitting lots of other functions you dont want. especially the time which makes it real hard to get the shot you want. also still havent figured out how to down load pics to computer, have the rigt cords ad have loaded the software. MAJOR dissapointment

I love this camera. It is so easy to use- point and shoot. Always takes good pictures. It is well worth the money.

This camera is great! I love it, I definitely need some classes to figure out how to use all of the fun settings, but for now the auto setting works great!!! Great action shots too!

Nice solid feel to the grip. Well made, lots of nice features. Only problem is, the self-timer options can be easily accidentally displayed. This usually happens when you hold the camera with just your right hand - the part of your palm just below the thumb rests right across that part of the function dial.

We ordered this camera for an upcoming trip. We have much to learn, but so far it seems easy to operate. They are a couple of functions which are kind of noisey, but I think with time we will get use to the sound

Bought this for my husband who has been looking for a new camera for months. This one does everything he wants and is just the right size and weight. Very easy to use as well - didn't have to read a lot of instructions before we could start taking amazing pictures. Plus - I ordered it on Sunday night and had it before noon on Wednesday. Couldn't have asked for better service and shipping and all at a greatly reduced price from others we had been looking at.

What a great camera .....first vacation with it..and I was so please with all of the pictures, mostly of people, but also the landscape of Ireland....amazing zoom...high quality zoom...great price point!

After using this camera for a month I can say with no hesitation "I love it". Being an amateur I was looking for something that gave me features that made my pictures look like they were taken by a pro. The zoom is amazing though of course at 50x holding steady is tricky but I expected that. Takes great video and the speed is much better than my old PowerShot SX110 IS. Majority of my pictures are birds in daylight and this camera does a great job for that. My only complaint is how close the video button is to thumb grip. It's easy to hit the record button my mistake and not be able to snap a picture. Of course that can be a benifit as well to start recording in a hurry so it just takes some getting used to.

Once again, Canon has out done themselves. I've owned Canon cameras for over 40 years and I'm sold on the brand. Over that period of time I've progressed from simple point & shoot to film SLRs to digital point & shoot to digital SLRs. I'm now at that point where I want great capability without having to carry all of the equipment and lenses. I tried the SX30 and was very happy with the compact size and versatility. The 30x optical lens was very good although there was some distortion at max magnification. It also was not real great in low light situations. With the SX50 Canon has corrected those issues and the 50x optical lens is unreal. Even at max magnification, the image stabilization keeps the image clear and in focus. Great camera, especially for anyone who travels.

Great camera for the price, amazing zoom lens, improved menu navigation over my last Canon camera, Very fully featured. Easy to use. The lithium battery is far better than the old AA rechargeable batteries. I am very pleased with the overall performance of this camera, and highly recommend it.

Using this camera and its superzoom lens, I grabbed a shot of a great blue heron's face, so close you could see a bit of a feather in his mouth, left over from preening. It's not bad at all for a P&S. Lots of features, some of them I'll never use, but inventive technology. The viewfinder is grainy and seems delayed. I'll have to get used to that, as I prefer an optical viewfinder, but how would you link that to a 1200mm lens?? This is really all about the zoom, and for that, it borders on the miraculous. Can't wait for the comets expected to arrive this year (2013). In all, very happy with the choice. No, it'll never rival a DSLR for quality, but it has a nice look to it, and how good not to have to pay $100,000 for a lens with this kind of reach.BTW - Worth noting that this is a significant upgrade from the SX40, which I tried and loathed. Slow, slow focus and then mostly on the wrong thing. Much improved on this model, though of course it can still hunt a bit at telephoto lengths. Congrats to Canon on a major improvement.

I needed a camera to take with me. This fills the bill for that. It does great close-ups, has a wonderful long range, and has 12 megapixels, which is all anyone needs.

I'm so very excited to start using this camera! I was worried that it wouldn't arrive on time because I didn't get the shipping confirmation until 2 days before it was supposed to arrive, but it came the very next day! I really love the versatility of the camera & I'm excited to learn the ins & outs of all of its capabilities!

have already taken some great shots with the camera. Zoom is great even though you really need a pod at max optical zoom. Battery life a little short but two batteries solves that issue. Video clarity and audio pickup are great.

The camera arrived on time but when it was time for pics the battery would not charge had to find n buy a new one adding expense to the overall cost

Did lots of research between this camera and others of same type. Was looking for a long zoom but at the same time for close up and low light. Very happy with this camera and the large choices of options.

My primary camera is a T2i and a wide range Tamron lens. Bought the sx50 for it's huge zoom. It takes a while to get used to the 1200mm equiv. holding steady without a tripod is a challenge. We have a lot of wintering bald eagles here, I've gotten great shots of the birds in trees. Flying birds/moving objects I haven't perfected yet as I'm used to the faster focus and shoot of a DSLR. It took a month before I wasn't changing settings because of accidentally grabbing the buttons. I missed several good shots because I activated the self-timer inadvertently! Other than those accidents the small size is big plus for walking around with. Image quality at lower ISO is great, I can shoot in RAW, battery life is above what I'd expected. Image stabilization is excellent and it's got loads of advanced features (that I won't ever get to)

know that the camera wll no fit in yur pocket.really love the zoom. have not noticed any blurred pictures when usng the zoom. really sharp pictures.quality is above expections

I am delighted with the Canon Powershot SX50 camera. It has tons of practical options, like for example, the leveling device.

love the sport setting; continuous shots are a must. Quality of the pictures are great; clear, crisp & so enlarging pics for framing is easy. Great camera!

I bought this camera before a recent family vacation to the mountains. It was easy to use and took great shots. The telephoto lens was so powerful we were able to use it to identify and photograph objects several miles away. Highly recommend.

It was supposed to be my new camera, but once my 15 y/o daughter got ahold of it I have not been able to get it back. She asked to borrow it for a photography class. She has learned how to use it for all kinds of shots (low light, stop motion, moon shots, etc.). It takes great photos. She was even able to sell a few of them.
