*Starts up fast.
*Video sharp with great color. You will love the color
*Audio is great but if you take it to a concert turn down the gain it is very sensitive.
*small, easy to carry
*MJPEG can be edited in most computers
Some notes:
If you want to see what this camera can do, go to the vimeo website and search for TX1. I use Vegas Movie Studio to edit with no problem. The gorrila pod suggested is not great for video because the camera will wobble with any wind or bump. A walking stick type monopod is excellent though. Just an incredibly fun camera!

Pros:
-Good shutter lag(when first auto focusing, then taking the photo)
-Good, bright flash
-Large, visible LCD screen.
-Excellent zoom
-Aperture, shutter speed and manual focus controls allow for excellent control over the camera for more serious photographers
-has excellent batter life and is nice and easy to hold
Cons:
-Slow flash recycle
-Only comes with a 16MB sD card.
Overall, this is an excellent camera, but buy a good set of rechargeable AA batteries, and a bigger sD card to go along with it. It is a great buy for the money and is made by a reputable and high quality company

But unlike any other still camera that I've used before, this one features the ability to capture 720p HD video at 30 frames per second. This coupled with a fast 8gb SDHC card will land you 28 minutes of highest resolution 16:9 aspect ratio video. Considering this is not a video camera that is excellent. This space is perfect for those moments where you would like a short video to merely capture a moment rather than document an event as you would with a actual video focused product. For instance a few minutes of myself and friends in the Absolute Ice Bar in London. Or the belly dancer in the next bar/lounge we visited.
Ultimately I found the camera small, fast and uncomplicated for my level of technical ability which may be higher than the average consumer. I'm what is known as an early adapter. If you wanted to perform tasks such as manual focus and manual white balance a person would be frustrated with the task though not impossible without leaping through a few hoops. But the quality with the quickly accessible features are excellent and I have already recommended this camera to others.

it can handle a good amount of abuse - i spilled an entire cup of beer on it and for awhile the LCD screen was black but i could use the viewfinder and take pictures fine. imagine my excitement when a few weeks later, the LCD started working again! it was almost as good as new. a friend of mine also dropped it into a cup of wine and that kind of did it in...it still works but has a few issues, which can be expected. anyway, after many drops and spills, it is still functioning so it is very durable. i'm assuming that others probably won't put it through the same ringer that i've put it through but it's good to know.
good value for the price...however, you may as well just spend the extra money (if it even costs more) to buy the powershot a560 -- i've heard it's better, and the LCD is bigger too.

Also, the canon software will not upload to a network drive (like my NAS so I have to manually transfer them after it uploads to the local disk).
Other than those 2 easy but critical features, it's a good camera. Well built. I bought a nikon 8M and it was flimsy (but it did the above 2 features fine). The nikon broke in 6 months so I bought this canon on it's good reviews. So much for reviews.

This camera produces nothing but great photos, is very easy to use and definitely is one of the best purchases I've made in years.
I'm far from being an electronics wizard, but learning how to use this sweet camera and all of its functions was easy for me.
If you're contemplating buying a digital camera, I definitely recommend considering this fine Canon product. Believe me, you won't regret it once you start taking photos.

The price was right. The size of the screen is a bit small but the images are clear. Access to the features is organized logically. This is the 1st digital camera that I have owned and I didn't need to read the manual. That said...I'm sure this camera has lots of features I have not even used! I travelled for three weeks in October and the Cannon performed well in all settings interior, exterior, varying light conditions, scenery, people............
I specifically wanted a camera with AA batteries. My friends tried to disuade me - they were sure I'd be replacing the batteries constantly. I put AA Lithium batteries in the Cannon in Sep 07 and have not replaced them despite lots of use

[...]what happens when you strap it into a model airplane.
One thing it does particularly well is recording lectures. The audio pickup is amazingly good, and it handles a variety of lighting situations well. Battery life is a limitation here. See an example at [...]
The downside of this camera is a lack of inputs: no IR control, and no audio input. I live with the lack of IR control by strapping the shutter control down and using a big SD chip. The TX1's microphone is so good at picking up voice that I haven't really missed the mic input.

I trusted in the confidentiality with my credit card also.
I'd be so happy of buy some others articles via Amazon.com
