Camera arrived quickly in good condition. It is light weight, compact, and seems to take good photos, admittedly with it being a Christmas gift we have not used it too much to date nor have we downloaded photos. With this being our 3rd Canon we have confidence it will be a good camera.

I gave this camera to my son for Christmas. It was one that he suggested, and the price was right. He just got back from a trip to Hawaii and emailed me some beautiful pictures. I think we chose a winner.

I could not be happier with this camera, and you certainly can't beat it for the price. The screen is surprisingly large for a small camera and the quality of the photos is fabulous. I can carry it around in my purse and have it on hand for spontaneous shots. The fact that it uses regular batteries is a blessing and a curse. At least if it runs out and your on vacation and out and about you can buy batteries anywhere instead of having to wait until you can charge it. But the downside is that they seem to get used up fairly quickly.
I'm really pleased I got this one and not a more pricey version. I have my Rebel SLR for high ed use and this for everyday.

I just bought this camera and took some shots. It's an excellent one. I am the owner of both S3 IS and EOS XSi, so I can easily judge the quality of the SX10 IS. For $400, it's definitely a good buy. It's bigger than S3 IS, almost the body size of Xsi.
Image quality is very good, correct color rendering (surely, not as good as Xsi, however, but its sharpness is better than Xsi).
The only thing I don't like is the EVF. When I move camera around, the view is not smooth, rather jumpy, make my eye uncomfortable. Again, for the price, what you get is a lot.

Bought this as a replacement for a Canon Powershot A300. Very happy with this camera especially the battery life. Very easy to use. Recommend this to anybody.

Amazing zoom lens. Amazing part is the vibration reduction, even without a rest. Down side is resolution may only be 180 dpi, not good enough for magazine print. Doesn't tell you that anywhere.

If you're anything like me, you're not exactly digital camera savvy. You may not understand what exactly ISO has to do with a shot, or the benefits of using Macro or different lens settings. Before buying this camera, I owned a Fuji Fine Pix camera. It was everything a beginner's camera was supposed to be. It was easy to use, but the ease came at the sacrifice of having great looking pictures. That isn't the case with the Canon A630.
The Canon A630 is a professional like camera that is made for the use of both amateurs and mastery photographers. It comes with a host of features and is relatively easy to get used to using. I've owned this camera for nearly 2 years, and have yet to have a major problem with it. The only minor problem I have had is battery life, but I bought a rechargable battery for the camera, and that's improved my issue with batteries. I took this camera abroad to Europe with me to cover my trip, and the photos turned out great. Clear, vivid, and crisp. I definitely recommend this camera to any and everyone. If you're looking for a great camera, but are a bit intimidated by being overwhelmed with the technical aspects, then the Canon A630 is the camera for you. Easy to use and great results.

It's slower than I thought. But for the price and features, it's a reasonable sacrifice. (You have to buy your own accessories, too.)

i bought this case for myself and am very pleased with the quality of it, its perfect to fit my powershot a 560 (also bought for christmas) in with enough room for batteries and sd cards. also for an actual canon product to be priced at £7.12 with free postage if you use super saver delivery its well worth buying.

I'll let you read the specs for what this camera has and just use this space to explain the biggest thing I noticed. It is a very good camera with many good features. The points below are mostly negative, but none of them are big enough to make me want a different camera.
1) Like all digital cameras, the shutter delay is frustrating. My laughing baby will turn his head and look away from the time I press the shutter and the time the picture is actually taken.
2) It is hard to get good auto-focused pictures indoors. I assume it has to do with lower light inside, but it is frustrating to see a good picture on the display only to see it fuzzy when you download it.
3) Sometimes it won't take pictures. I don't know if it is waiting for the flash to charge or what, but I can point at what I think is a well lit shot, push the shutter, and nothing happens.
4) Frustrating that the display is more light sensitive than the camera. I wanted a picture of my baby sleeping. I could see him just great in the display (it was dark, but that is what it looks like in real life and what I wanted to capture), but the picture comes out black. You can get the picture if you play around with one of the manual modes, but it is always a guess what you will get. It would be nicer if the display was more WYSIWYG.
5) Battery life is great!
6) You can get great images out of this camera and 8 MP is great when you want to crop.
7) I love the ability to take multiple pictures on a timer.
8) The video comes out very well.
9) A speck of dust appeared on the inside of the lens. I am not sure how it got there or how to get it out, but it doesn't seem to affect the pictures. Annoying, none the less.
10) The software is useless unless you want to stitch pictures together.

I love the camera. I purchased this before and regret ever taking it back. I love where its not so sleek like other cameras. I had a different canon camera before and it kept slipping off my hands, this one has a nice place to get a better grip of the camera. Love it. Excellent quality pictures too.

I bought this camera in part because it had the widest angle (28) in a still compact camera size. I only use the automatic functions, not being a true camera buff. That given, I love it! It takes great pictures, has lots of functions, and everyone who sees it says Nice camera and Nice pictures!

Bought this because all of the rave reviews I read here about the Canon SX100IS!
First the good things:
The few pictures that I took looked great and the zoom was wonderful. IS worked like a charm even after I shook the camera on purpose to TRY and create a blurry picture, but couldn't!
Now the reasons I returned it:
I hated the "wheel" on the back of the camera. While trying to spin it I would always end up clicking it and end-up somewhere else, total design flaw!
I hated the feel of it. It felt like cheap plastic and did not feel sturdy in my hands. Always felt like it was slipping out!
But the reason I returned it was because of the battery life, or lack there of. I used the batteries that came with it all of about 45 minutes. I then replaced them with re-chargable ones that came with the "accessory pack" ,that I bought from Amazon, and got about 5-6 minutes with those. Put the other set in and only got 2-3 minutes with those! Went and bought a brand new pair of lithium AA's and only got 20-25 minutes with those.
WHAT GOOD IS A CAMERA IF YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES!!!
Unacceptable. I returned to Amazon awaiting my refund!
Bottom Line: This camera felt cheap and not sturdy in my hands. Battery life was a joke and not acceptable.

Video quality is awesome in daylight. It is not that good in low light conditions, but 1- it is quite normal, 2- you cannot expect such a compact cam to behave like a $10,000 one.
One thing I dislike is that you cannot have 2 different image ratio settings for pictures and videos at the same time. Meaning once you switch to 16/9 you also shoot pictures in this mode.

This is my second Canon camera. Pictures are great! Features are easy to use! And the end result will get you the best results without breaking the bank! Amazon.com by the way has the best prices!

This camera has several features which make it a valid consideration for those who are looking for a camera that is under a hundred bucks. The only downside being its size, which feels bulky in your hand compared to smaller and thinner cameras that might not have as much functionality.
