We had an older Canon Powershot S410 that served us well the past 8 years, but was slow & difficult to take pics while in motion. This new camera is much faster & does better in dimly lit areas. The functions are similar & user friendly. We are very pleased with our puchase & highly recommend it.

I got this printer not as a replacement, but a supplement to the brother laser printer I already have. It also pretty much replaces my old Epson scanner, which is showing signs of aging.PROS: Amazingly easy to set up. I own a Mac, and it's basically plug n play like most Mac compatible products. My OS immediately recognized the new hardware and prompted to download the necessary software which is very intuitive and easy to understand.The onboard display is VERY easy to understand and most of the commands can come from the printer itself without having to open any programs on your computer. For example, you want to make a simple copy of something press "COPY" and it will do so within seconds. Scanning, same thing but it will automatically open the appropriate program for you after you press "SCAN" ... it works in reverse as well, so you can always open up the program manually.It does seem to be an amazing value for getting a 3-in-1 deal. I have not used the fax feature yet, but I imagine that it would deliver similar results to the scanner and printer.Scanning quality looks good. I do some pretty basic scans for web-view type of imagery so I think most scanners suffice for this purpose. If you plan on scanning things for larger blow up or printing, then this probably won't do it for you. The scan area is only a little bigger than letter size.CONS: As far as amazing resolution, this printer will not necessarily give you that. For standard copies and documents it will get the job done and then some. If you are looking for a printer that can give you really nice images (something that you will use specifically for photo printing) then you might as well splurge and get something that will give you amazing resolution. While this printer is not bad at all, you will be much more satisfied with splurging a little more for DOPE resolution.So, this combo is very nice. I honestly don't see myself using it to print (as in word documents) as much as I will use the copy and scan features. But, if you have a small office or even want this for your small business it seems like it will do the trick for you. At this price, it seems really hard to beat.I own a fair number of Canon products now, and they all have stood up to their reputation. They are durable and seem to have lasted all this time without breakage. You can probably expect this one to last you quite a while.

A year ago, I purchased a S95 and was very pleased. This year I purchased the S100 and was also pleased. Both cameras seem to work about the same, with the S95 being a little better in certain photos.

This fits the camera ok but not as good as another version I had used and given to a relative. It has an old world feel to it. It tends to be very cumbersome when open and impedes the motion of the camera to a degree. It offers reasonable protection but could certainly be better.

Since I recived my camera, it took great pictures but once in the play mode nothing worked, I couldn't delet nor edit my pictures.

Canon usually sells superior products. I only use Canon Cameras.This printer has real issues accepting new cartridges. I mean it is a HUGE issue.Pass this buy and upgrade to another with realsoftware that will properly align cartridges after installing.I have owned many a printer.

Camera was bought in May 2012, and the serial number is above the listed numbers by Canon, still I've got Lens Error, and lens is stuck.Quality of low light pictures are great, camera is great in use, easy, portable, but 50/50 it will break up in the first few month of using without any harsh conditions (I was making picture of flower).Sending camera for repair to Canon Service.

I like that it has full manual controls and RAW mode. It's obviously not as good as my SLR, but it's great for times when I don't want to lug around a big heavy SLR. My biggest complaint is it's slower focus, and fps, etc. than the SLR, but for it's size it takes good pictures.

I bought this printer to replace a 6 year old Canon used in my home. Installation and setup were easy following the instructions on the enclosed CD. This has to be done with the machine connected to a computer via the enclosed USB cable as the first step, and I am continuing to use the printer plugged into my PC, so I cannot comment on the pros and cons of wireless usage. The on-screen user's manual is very comprehensive and well written, making it easy to use all the machine's capabilities.In the print mode the MX410 is somewhat noisy but delivers clean crisp copies. I scanned the IRS Form 1040 using the printer's ADF mode and got a good copy; then by placing the same document directly on the platen glass. This gave a noticeably sharper copy. I also got a very good scan of a color photograph that had a lot of detail; the colors and details were true to the original. I prefer to scan using the software put on my PC during the installation process, but scanning via the menus and settings displayed on the LCD is also easy. A drawback is that the LCD screen is quite small, but the lettering is clear. Since I do not use this printer for business I have not used the fax capability. Overall, this printer provides very good value for $80.

Bought this camera, Canon S100 to take underwater pictures after being inspired by marine life during a couple of diving trips. Also bought compatible u/w housing. This camera takes excellent pictures both on land & u/w. Sharp details, bright colors, quick & fuss free camera,

I paid $239 for the Canon S100. It's a steal and for that price I bought 2. I'm an underwater photographer and with the proper flash I get pictures that are stunning. There is a few others digital camera as good or a little better but never at this price!!!

I'm a camera guy. I had never used a pocket camera that made me happy - until I bough this one. The only drawback I find is the battery life is shorter than I am used to. Not a deal breaker. (Turning off GPS helps.)

We're still getting used to the camera but so far we're pretty happy with the quality and speed. We bought this camera mainly for shots of our ever on the move 16 month old son. Again, thanks to the aperture speed, blur is kept to a minimum. I do wish the photos came out a bit warmer but for a point and shoot, can't complain.

As a true amateur, I asked a professional photographer friend to recommend a camera that would take "postcard perfect" shots with little to no effort from me. I got that and more with this little camera. The pictures are amazing!The zoom made it look like I was right there with the wildlife I was shooting from a safe distance. The stabilizer is phenomenal, as I took perfect pictures from the back of a moving horse, and fit easily in my pocket.It has a boatload of features I will probably never use, but for me this camera has not disappointed and is well worth the investment.

While the S100 might look like the typical compact camera its performance is more like a medium format camera. Plus besides the usual idiot modes it has lots of user controls for every situation. I also have a digital SLR and I get as good or sometimes better pictures with the S100. It takes a little bit of playing with it to learn all the things it can do and learn how to use all the features. It is hard to take a bad picture with it and by using the user controls every picture is great. The only bad thing I can say about it is the battery life is a little short so make sure you buy an extra battery.

I needed a small camera for candid pictures of vacation travel and social events. I also need a smaller camera to use as a back-up for underwater pictures. After reading the reviews from Backscatter I know the Canon S100 was the camera that would be the best choose for my needs.

I bought this camera on the recommendation from a guy on NPR. I've had Canons before and didn't like them but did it anyway! I only had it for 8 months and just found out today that the lens will not protract, or go into it's body, then an automatic shutdown message comes on. This led me to google the problem and came to find out that ALOT of people have this problem with this camera. Shame on me for buying Canon again! ****Now it is 3 weeks later and I sent Canon the camera to be repaired after 4 emails and they sent me an invoice for 170.00!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY SAID THE LCD WAS BROKEN. IT WAS NOT! I'VE NEVER BEEN CALLED A LIAR BY A COMPANY BEFORE. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE?

Got this to carry on my motorcycle. Picked up a durable case locally, because I couldn't find the one I wanted online without shipping making the deal worse than brick and mortar.I was a little worried that this might obsolete my DSLR, but no such problem. I quickly found myself trying to get shots that are no-brainers on the DSLR, but this camera simply won't do, like detail close-ups with good depth of field in the work shop.But for typical point-and-shoot stuff, it's great. Colors are super-vivid, focus and IS are good. Video works well as much as I've used it. It's gone on several camping trips, and is just a lot more convenient to carry around outdoors, which was the point.Definitely get at least one backup battery.

The lens may start out with a wide aperture, but it gets narrow pretty fast as you start to zoom, so make sure that's not going to drive you nuts; if it will you may want to check out a slightly more expensive model like the Olympus XZ-1 or Fujifilm FinePix X10. It's also not terribly fast--probably fine for street shooting, but it'll never keep up with unpredictable kids or animals.

I love the case! It is better than I expected. The quality of case, and especially the strap is good. I was impressed by the heavy duty snaps. All-in-all the case makes the camera look like a professional piece of equipment. I had it at the office (without the cover) and a co-worker took one look at the camera and thought it was a high end one. To sum up? It is stylish, built with quality, and functional.

I've found several serious shortcomings in the S100 I received two weeks ago, not least of which is a ridiculously short battery life (8 - 12 hours with moderate usage). I'd planned to use the camera on multi-day wilderness trips, but this would require toting along several extra batteries (at $30 - $60 each!) Also, the image quality is not what I would have expected from a $429 camera. On my unit, colors often seem dull, and the focus is uneven with distinct blurring occurring consistently in the lower right corner of images (this is particularly visible in flat, highly detailed photos shot from a parallel plane, such as lawn from about five feet overhead). And even at low ISO settings, resolution seemed no better than my three-year-old Sony DSC-W80 pocket camera. (I did check the lens for smudges or fogging, found none, but meticulously cleaned it anyway. No improvement. Also tried a variety of settings and lighting conditions.) The S100 does have some impressive qualities: HD video is very good, GPS works well (though I wish there were an option to choose between UTM and Lat-Lon coordinates in the display . . . and on-board mapping software would be VERY nice!), and the camera boots up really fast. It is also loaded with potentially great features (I particularly liked the function-selectable lens ring). I think Canon got a lot of things right with this camera, but an apparent rush to market means some things got missed. I've returned my S100, but look forward to the next generation in this line.Pros: HD Video, Quick boot-up, Small size, FeaturesCons: Short battery life(!), Poorer-than-expected image quality, Uneven focus, Cost

This camera has all the useful features I need. (I don't need, for example, a wi-fi interface which is available on a newer far more expensive model.) It takes great pictures and is easier to use than earlier Canon point-and-shoot models.
