The product is very handy and the best part about it is that it doesnt require any external power.The scanning part is done well. The only thing which I didnt liked about it is that when I scan small papers less than a A4 size paper it creates a black color background, however this can be removed by doing some photo editing work.Overall its a nice portable scanner.

This is a great little scanner! I was trying to scan documents using my HP All-In-One but was getting huge PDF files. Too big for attaching to emails. I tried everything to reduce the file size with no luck. So I purchased this wonderful little scanner. The images are clear and the PDF file sizes are very small. It even allows for scanning in multiple pages into one file. I am very happy with this scanner!

I primarily purchased this scanner to see if it would work well enough so I wouldn't have to pay a hefty price to scan documents, reciepts, photos, etc. What a great little scanner! Fast, great image quality and scans nearly everything I can think of for home and office. Just like every Brother product I've owned/used - great product wit a tiny price tag!

Obviously, if you're using a mobile scanner, you're in a hurry. Overall, this is a very nice scanner. However, if you're in a time crunch, you'll have one complaint - there is no paper input guide!Cons:- No guides! There is nothing to guide the paper along to ensure the page doesn't move or shift, which screws up that page scan. You can end up with a lopsided scanned document, which you'll have to re-scan to rectify.- The maximum scan size is 8.5" x 14" (legal size document). If you need to scan ledger size (11" x 17"), this will not work for you.Pros:- Powered by a USB connection. No power source necessary!- Has auto-start option for ease in feeding multiple pages.- Very simple (and fast) installation.- Scans beautifully, even with light documents!- Scans and saves in letter, legal, A4, B5, A5, A6 and business card sizes.If the Brother DSMobile Scanner (DS-600) included a scan guide to ensure that your scans went in straight and smoothly, it would be the perfect mobile scanner!

This scanner is AWESOME!!! I purchased it for my wife, who isn't technically savvy, and she's wearing it out! Easy to install, easy to use, easy to transport, great results. For your mobile scanning needs you can't go wrong here.

I bought this to scan magazine articles with my laptop. I was tearing out the articles for places I want to visit when I retire but I was getting a huge pile! DW suggested I scan them and this thing works great.The pages are magazine slick so sometimes they feed a little crooked but it doesn't hurt. The software has a feature to "rescan last page" so you can check that and re-do it, if you want.I highly recommend it for those that need a very portable scanner.

Works pretty good and does what I need for it to do with no complaints. Haven't had the feeding problem others have reported as long as you ensure the right corner of the page is lined up properly. The only issue I've had is with the software. I loaded on two different computers and it operates differently on each. One will allow multiple pages in one file and the other requires a different file for each page. Can't figure out what's the difference between the two.

Initially, I was a little turned off by the price, but so far, it's been worth it. The scanner is exactly as the product description says. Installation took a couple minutes and so far, scanning has been a breeze. The scanner is not only extremely mobile (it's about the size of a three point hole puncher), but very durable as well. I've managed to drop it a few times it still works like a charm.My only small complaint is that the software will freeze up once in a while if I'm scanning a lot at a time. I can't say for sure that it's not something with my computer, though, so take it for what's it worth.I would definitely recommend this portable scanner.

We were on vacation and having used the older version for a couple of years, all of a sudden, it would not work for scanning receipts into Quicken! But this new one will work in color and is actually better than our old one. We use it to scan receipts into Quicken.

This item is really great. Two flaws though; it has no guides when feeding the paper so it can run crooked or to the left or right of center and second, the carrying pouch doesn't have enough room to carry the power cord, only the unit itself. Other than that, the color images are perfect and the black and white are pretty good. It's super simple and very cool.

This is a great little scanner, can pop it in my backback with my stuff, easy and intuitive operation. I didn't find this until I had bought another scanner from Neat Receitps, what a disaster the Neat Receipts scanner was, wouldn't install, support was terrible. I purchased the Brother scanner, what a difference. Everything worked, easy to understand, easy to use, I can bring it everywhere I go, scan and capture receipts, etc. I would recommend it to anyone.

The unit works fine for single pages, which it is designed for. I am happy with the speed, size and weight of the unit. It is very portable and fits nicely into my laptop back-pack.The only negative I would mention is the paper feeding. I often find it tough with just one hand to feed the paper into the device. The unit will sometimes begin scanning without the paper being properly positioned, and you end up with a blank page. I would have preferred that the device say it couldn't grab the paper.Anyways, for the price and portability this is definitely a good unit.

this is a great little scanner. just hook it up to puter or laptop and it will scan just about anything! size restriction, no bigger than standard sheet of paper but is a great item. i'd suggest this to anyone

I use Vista and I did not have any installation issues. The set up on the scanner was very easy. Popped in the installation CD, installed each program in the order listed on the pop up window, restarted my computer as recommended, plugged in the scanner, calibrated, and I was done. I scanned my document and the quality was excellent. Scanned documents can be saved in more than one format. I use PDF format. This is a good product and the price is affordable.

I love this scanner, I can take it with me to scan pictures & documents for Family Tree research. So handy to be able to just borrow a picture for a few seconds to scan. Worth the money..... works great!!!

The Brother Dsmobile 600 is an excellent, high quality product that has no negatives associated with it since I've been using it. Its benefits are numerous: very fast and easy to install, so light and compact that it fits conveniently in virtually any carrying case, is powered by a USB connection, easily creates PDF & JPEG files, provides an auto-start option as you feed multiple pages, comes with its own carrying case and a 6-ft cable, and, most importantly, provides very high quality color scanning of a variety of types of documents and photos up to 8 1/2" X 14". Very highly recommended.

One has to be very, very quick to get an item off the Vine Program, especially if it's as sought after as a scanner. I guess I was logged on just at the right moment.I was impressed how fast it arrived. Very impressed. I do not know any company that can ship as fast as Amazon.The scanner is awesome. It is perfect for those with PCs on the go. It sets up quickly; it is intuitive; and it has a "good" feel to it -- as if it will last a long time.I think Amazon has some deals with this scanner. Even at full price, it's a great buy.Again, very impressive. No negatives.

Purchased this device to scan all of my reciepts for expense reporting submission. What I like most about the unit is it's portability and that it uses USB for power. It scans fairly quickly and with very good quality.

This product was very difficult to use. I returned it and purchased a Fujitsu scan snap. Much easier even if it's more expensive.

Nice that it is light, compact and easy to use. No paper guide is an obvious design element left out.Serves the purpose for documents. No experience with photos. Suites my needs.

I got this for my husband, just on a whim. He was able to use it on both a PC and a Mac. Set up was quick, it was easy to use, and provided clear images.His two complaints were that 1) the drivers for Macs were not available on the website, though were on the installation disk and 2) he has not yet been able to create documents that can be manipulated...so far only PDFs. I think I have both those points correct....

I was very pleased with this purchase. Setting it up and using it was very intuitive and very easy and the scans are excellent. Very good value for money.
