Works OK. Bought to replace a Creative Sound Blaster Live! card that is not supported for Windows 7 and above, and when running through HiFi seems to offer similar sound quality - no better or worse.
I popped this into a machine that I've used to test Windows 10, and the drivers on the supplied disc installed and worked without trouble. The same machine is also used with Linux Mint Cinnamon, and the card was recognised and correct drivers installed automatically for it.

It's a solid piece of hardware it sounds great and is a huge improvement to built in motherboard sound cards like realtek or nvidia the difference is marked. There are some issues with drivers which is why I've only given a score of 3. They are not very well supported and really buggy with updated drivers also seemly incomplete some aspects. If you want to reinstall or update the verified manufactures Xonar DG drivers after removing the card it's a hassle. If you're net savy it's so much not a problem as there's a group of users updating an unverified version of drivers that give near full functionality but for everyday users this might be difficult to located and achieve.

I had had the DG for around 4 months, it was working fine up until recently, the left channel emits a loud screech/noise as if that channel has gone, it never did this before and I havent changed anything on my pc. I have tried everything to resolve it, even changing pci slots, removing devices you name it ive tried and it still persists. I have read online various people with the same problem and no way to fix it other then a RMA. Thankfully amazon is kindly replacing the item for me and im amazed how good there customer service is!. I hope the replacement works ok, but my trust in asus has gone downhill. It's a great card when working, much better then onboard so give it 3 stars for that.

Comes inside good, sturdy packaging, sealed in anti-static bag with instruction manual, extra screws and mount (just in case, I didn't need them) and the driver disc. No problems installing, no problems getting the driver going. The sound quality is just sooo much better than my previous (on-board) sound card, which was still a decent on-board card. The first thing I did was plug my headphones in and was blown away by the shear clarity of sound. Then I hooked up my surround sound and immediately new this was a wise purchase.
If you currently have on-board sound or you aren't happy with your current sound card you should definitely pick one of these up - you won't regret it.

So I bought some 5.1 headphones a few weeks back only to find to my horror when my headphones arrived that my soundcard didn't support it... (I'm fairly useless when it comes to PC's.). So I had a look around for a top quality new sound card that would be perfect for music and casual gaming and this was the one that came up. I'm glad I bought it now, it's amazing the difference between this one and a low quality one! Everything is better in terms of music and gaming is epic! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a new sound card to enhance their audio experience...

Crappy drivers.
Update 30-08-2015, I cannot adjust the volume anymore, I was thinking maybe there is something wrong with my headset but I tried it on another computer and it works....
Update 15-09-2015 The volume problem was an issue with a Windows service not being started not the soundcards fault so as it stands now looks OK for the money.

Card worked as expected. handy minxi pci bracket availablein box, softwear looks quite old but works perfectly, subwoofers was enabeled through the flexbass option, and 3d gaming works great. Only downside is how small the equaliser is, makes it difficult for accurate adjustments but still works perfectly.

I love this sound card as it provides perfect sound to my 5.1 pc speakers. No extra noise when the speakers are switched on but nothing is currently playing on them. The only think that I consider as disadvatage (comparing to the onboard Realtek) is the fact that you have to switch between the outputs: 5.1 spearkers; or front panel headphones + mic. This could be easily resolved by 3.5mm Y-cable and connecting the headphones + mic directly to the soundcard, together with the speakers.

Good item. Has a lot of customization options via the audio control centre (Good for people who want that many options but may be intimidating for the less determined PC user. Especially since it is hard to find any online info regarding setting up the card) Be sure to get the PCI version if you have an older motherboard as the PCIe version may cause issues (We had to return the PCIe & switch to this)

I bought this to replace the realtek onboard card which has been playing up since the windows 10 upgrade. It is much better than the realtek card and if you don't want it to do anything fancy, which I don't, then it is good value for money. I did have to download the windows 10 drivers, not a problem, but I now have all the facilities I need in audio including recording.

Good card. Almost sounds a little too harsh if I had to be critical. Crisp sound. Annoyingly it makes a loud sound just as the PC shuts down. No problem using it with Windows 10. Drivers online

The Card arrived damaged, box was sealed but there was a loose screw in the box, when plugged into the PC, nothing happened, had to send it back and ordered Sound Blaster Z instead.

Installed as per instructions and working perfectly. Comes with a CD containing drivers, user's manual and basic software. I am not a hyper-critical user though, I just wanted a means of playing on-line music and recorded speech.

This is 2nd Asus Xonar i own. Great quality, high SNR, software is a little too simplistic. Gets the job done and eliminated any noise that I had from the on-board SC. Recommended.

Very inexpensive, full of features, easy to install (I didn't even use the disc just downloading the drivers from the website) and performs well.
Really has no right to be this good for this sort of money. I'm not a full on audiophile but for a normal persons needs this is more than adequate. Had it for months now and no problems at all.
