Tried all features. make sure it sits inside the slot perfect otherwise it will distort sound from vibrations of the bass sound. Audio brilliance is a great feature. SPDIF out did ok for a week at 192khz sampling rate but now distorts sound, therefore, switching to lower sampling rate resolves the issue. Aux is perfect solution for 5.1 distortion free sound. Since I am using a yamaha 5.1 reciever as well, sounds are pretty enhanced as far as I can observe. Newer model than creative sbz by 4 to 6 years and less costly by around $40 to 60. Overall impressed. Great job ASUS.

I was looking for an affordable upgrade from the onboard sound that came with my motherboard--and that's what I got! Nothing too fancy, just good clean sound. I was surprised by how much difference it made. I immediately notice instruments and other subtleties in some of my favourite music that I had never noticed before. I also wanted a lower noise floor and I haven't been disappointed in that either.
Installation was straight forward, although it took some doing to find all the right settings to make Audacity work like it's supposed to. I don't find the software that ships with the card very useful. There is no help to be found and I've had screens lock up. The 'modes' are jarring. I stick with Hi-Fi as none of the others make sense. (Why, for example, would 'Music' be 5 times louder than the others?) Customization is apparently possible, but it isn't at all obvious how, and as I said, there is no help. 'Information', 'Details' tells me that the software is more than 8 years old, and nothing much else. So, install it and get on with your life, enjoying great sound at an affordable price. If you need the latest bells and whistles, you should definitely look elsewhere.

This is a useless product that lives off a former Xonar name glory, it doesn't have a Dolby Live or DTS licensing like Xonar D1/DX, it uses Realtek ALC1220, a sound chip usually found on motherboards and literally does not output any digital sound to rear speakers, is this some kinda joke?

Windows10 64bit環境で使用、メーカーサイトよりドライバーをダウンロードしインストールして使ってみましたが、再生デバイスの変更（スピーカー⇔ヘッドフォン等）やサンプリングレードの変更を行った際、付属ソフトのXonar Audio Centerの応答が停止してしまう場合が少なからず発生し、その場合はWindowsのシャットダウンが出来ません。
また、デバイスマネージャーからサウンドドライバーのみをインストールしてみましたが、出力先として選べるのがヘッドフォンと光デジタルのみで、何故かスピーカーが選べません。
メーカーのドライバーを削除し、自動的にインストールされるマイクロソフトのドライバーで使用すると安定はするのですが、ミキサーやイコライザーが一切使えません。
環境に依存する可能性もありますが、私の場合は安定して使用することが出来ませんでした。
ドライバーが更新されるとまた違うのかもしれません。

Good for headphones but not supported on 5.1 home theater. Produces weird sound on my 5.1. I want to return but this item says cannot return per Amazon policy. Better try creative ones. They sent a defective one and just got it replaced after a month and it worked amazingly.

This is an average sound card not really really worth it.
As a headphone amp it works for higher impedance headphones. But
It doesn't support Dolby by default, so required the use of other decoders like ffdshow if you want to play surround sound.

I had heaps of issues with Creative X-Fi Fatality drivers in Windows 10, but this card worked straight out of box.

The ports are so close to each other that only the main audio out can be used. The rest cannot handle simultaneous insertion of pins because of their proximity to each other. So mybthunbs down for this sound card.

【購入】
ハイレゾ対応との事で気になったので購入しました。
USBタイプで接続やコードでごちゃごちゃするのは嫌だったので、このようなPCIスロットタイプを購入しました。
【音】
ハイレゾといいつつも、当方が所有しているパソコンスピーカー（JBL Pebbles）ではハッキリとした音の差は感じませんでした。ただハイレゾ対応のヘッドホンを使用すると、曇りがなく・くっきり・ハッキリ明瞭になり、音の違いに気が付きます。ボーカルやベース・ドラムよりが際立つというよりも、シンセサイザーといった電子音が綺麗に聞こえます。
【感じたこと】
ここで約2900円で安く売っている” Sound Blaster Audigy Fx ”と比べると、そんなに際立った差がないような気がします。 雑誌の記事で、進化したような音についての記事を見たので期待してたのですが・・・・やらせなアゲ記事だったのかな？その点が気になったので▲1点の4点としました。
サウンドカード初心者が使用すると、しょぼいオンボード（とはいいつつも最近のオンボードサウンドも侮れないぐらい音がいいのもあります）と比べ音が違うのがはっきりとわかると思います。

星4から3へ変更します
突如このサウンドカードが認識しなくなりました。削除し再インストールしてもまったく認識せず1週間程悩んでおりました。
ところが、前触れもなく突然認識してくれました。アップデートもせず、PC構成や余計なソフトをインストールしていません。なぜ？？？なにが？？？

初サウンドカードですが、オンボードからだと体感できるほどの違い。
素で使用すると音が少々こもって聞こえる(素人耳です)気がしましたが、イコライザやエフェクトもありしっくり来た音に出来ました
お値段もそこそこ安くて良いんじゃないでしょうか？

WINDOWS10のバージョンアップのせいで、ASUS製のカスタムデスクトップに標準セットされていたデジタル端子（HDMI）が認識されなくなったので、仕方なくサウンドカードを購入。セッティングに関しては簡単にできたが、音質に関してはマニアではないのであまり良くは判らない。しかし、時々デバイスが破損し、サインにストールを余儀なくされる事態に。Bluetoothのヘッドホンとペアリングすると破損するのかと直前の原因を思ってヘッドホンのデバイスを削除する羽目に。
デバイスのバージョンアップを期待したい……というか、されないと困る。

5.1chサラウンドシステムを光接続でパソコンと繋ぐため購入。取り付けも簡単だし、ドライバもネットから最新のものを落とせるので設定は超楽。オーディオも問題なく動いてるのでマイナス点は特になし。
装着前と装着後の音質の変化ですが、導入と共にスピーカーも変えたので比較はできず。ただ、感覚的にノイズは減った気がします。
単純に音質をあげるならdacとか他の機器を導入するのがありだと思いますが、あくまで、端子の追加などが主目的とされる本製品においては期待どおりに問題なく動いてくれているので、満足してます。

Xonar Audio Center はおよそ使えない。 リアパネルジャックとフロントパネルジャックの切り替えに
数秒から１分ぐらいかかるし、切り替わらない場合さえある。 Xonar をアンインストールして Win10
のネイティブドライバにしたら動くが、イコライザなどの機能は使えなくなる。
Asus はほとんどの場合良いドライバを提供してくれるが、この製品は外れであった。

オンボード再生と比較すると格段に「無音であるべきシーン」の静寂度がUP、ゲームでもかすかな足音や環境の変化に気づくことができるようになりました。「ASIO」に対応しているため、様々なDAWで高ビットレートで遅延が少なく音の作業を行うこともでき満足しています。USB外付けのオーディオインターフェイスを他に3台所有していますが、このXonar SEが音質や安定性の面で最もコストパフォーマンスに優れていますので、PCI Express x1 カードを内蔵できる環境の方にゲーム用、DTM用の両方でおすすめしたいと思います。

本体USB接続DACを使用していたが、無音時のホワイトノイズがどうしても気になって光接続できないかと検討、製品を購入しDACと光ケーブル接続を行っている。確かに無音時のサーというホワイトノイズは一切無くなったが、逆に動画で早送りしたり別ソフトを起動する時の切替時にバチバチというスイッチングノイズが異常に目立ってしまった。これではＵＳＢに戻さざる得ない現状です。スイッチングノイズが無ければ最高なんだけどなー。バチバチノイズは心臓に悪いです。

光出力用に購入しましたが、作動せず、問い合わせたが、OSがサポート対象ではなかった(Linux)ので、回答が得られず、結局別のメーカーのカードを購入し直しました。このカードはゴミ箱行きです。

Un sonido un poco mejor
La estuve probando en una computadora un poco antigua con un codec normal(ALC887) y la verdad si se distingue la diferencia en sonido, se oye mas claro y mas fuerte, la separación de canales es buena, pero en una computadoras nueva o al menos con un codec de audio nuevo o mejor que el ALC887 la diferencia es menos perceptible, para juegos esta bien, pero no es mucha la diferencia en la separación de canales que el ALC887.

The DAC on this card seems to be high quality and is indistinguishable from my high end $100 card when I use studio headphones to compare.
This card is great for gaming and listening to flac files using my THX speaker setup or studio headphones.
My favorite part about this card would be the price, it rivals my expensive DAC with two major gripes:
1. The volume output is extremely low on this card even when set to 100% when compared to onboard sound and other sound cards. When the Xonar SE is set to 100% it equates to 45% on other cards. I am not sure if they can update this in the future or not. My guess is it is the hardware and not something they can update but we'll see.
2. The sound card kept defaulting to headphones as the primary output in WIndows 10 even when all I have is speakers plugged in. Setting the default output to speakers has no affect once you restart. My work around for this was to disable all other output devices to force Windows 10 to use the speakers on this card.
Overall I am happy with the sound quality, just not worth a 5 star until they fix these issues.
I am the first review on Amazon for this 116snr card so hopefully they can issue an update to fix my 2 issues then I'll update my review to a solid 5 star.

A huge disappointment considering a noticeable improvement in audio quality over an ALC1150 chipset. While the card works fine the vast majority of the time I cannot in good faith recommend this device due to its occasional propensity to cause audio glitches and hang applications that are trying to output sound.
There are no warnings or errors in the system event log, it just stops working until you reboot the system. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with the latest 10.0.01.10 driver (also 64-bit). Sometimes the Xonar Audio Center disappears, other times it seems to think the device is working fine albeit it cannot switch outputs (at which point the software hangs).
I expect nothing less than absolute rock solid performance out of such a fundamental device, thus this gets 1 star. I am also disappointed with the way Windows handles malfunctioning audio hardware (as in, it doesn't), but that is not the reason behind my low review score.
I have been using this card for 21 days, every day, and have experienced this issue 6 times which necessitated an immediate reboot of the computer to resolve the issue. Disabling, deactivating, reinstalling driver did nothing. If I had to guess I'd say the card is getting caught in a bad hardware state from which it cannot recover until power cycled.

This card works exceptionally well, especially compared to all the other sound cards reviewed by people. In my case specifically, the card itself installed without any issues upon boot AND the drivers that I downloaded didn't even require that the sound cards 'control panel' be installed to use it correctly, it is optional. Of course you can always let windows handle the necessary driver installation straight from the internet or from the system's library itself. Though you should always check to see if the one you downloaded is more up to date than windows. Fortunately mine were already up to date with just windows alone.
Performance? Probably some of the best from any sound cards I have used, including the ones integrated into the motherboard. The sound comes off SUPER clear and with the right amount of amplification needed for my headphones. So there was no issues with either having a flat audio/sound or noise encumbering my experience. The microphone port is also super clear in audio feedback with very little noise in the background. So I can definitely say i've gotten my money's 'worth'.
