The downloads on this iPad mini are frustratingly slow. Want to watch a little YouTube video? Half the time I've lost interest before the thing loads. No suggestions at the Apple store, no help. Aggravating!

Bought this as a birthday gift for a high school student (Grandson) and works great for his school work and with 64GB it should hold every thing he needs.
I went to school with a pencil and paper in a notebook but today that does not cut it. LOL

This is the review of my 12 yr. old daughter. I edited it a bit:
First of all I would like to thank all of those people who wrote the reviews that guided me to find the perfect tablet:) I had changed my mind many a times, first from android then to Apple's iPad 2,etc... But finally, I was sold on an Android. Asus Tf300. It was perfect, it had a big screen, fluid and responsive. It would be perfect for my note taking as a student. It was light, and had a secure rubbery back. Wonderful! But then......
(Insert dramatic Phantom of the Opera piano playing. Horrified gasps! Scream! Get the smelling salts! Faint! Oh no!) Well, here is where my review gets useful, hopefully. My mom suggested that I reconsider the iPad mini. She felt it was the best size for me to be transporting to my classes.
First of all, I bought it direct from Apple with engraving. When we purchased it right before Christmas, Apple seemed to have the lowest price at $329 for the most basic model. I got a white, 16gb iPad mini. I also bought it with the smart cover, which is overly priced. However,it really is ingenious and it folds into a stand that I use while reading an e-book. I absolutely loved the device at first sight! It is fluid, I love the screen etc...! I know I have no experience on Retina anything, but the screen really is pretty good!(but you might notice some pixilation on white screens or when you're reading, but it really doesn't bother me.) I really like reading on it on the NOOK reader/app.(I know some of you like the Kindle. I just got the NOOK app because for Christmas I recieved a $25 Barns&Noble gift card.)Over all, I absolutely love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love it!!!!!!! I am sorry if this did not help you at all.

[Mother's note: The screen is large enough to comfortably view/edit photos and videos. The screen is the size of a paper back book page. The photo quality is better than expected. It feels and looks like a high quality product. Our elderly,yet hip, neighbor is so impressed, she's going to buy one instead of getting a laptop. If you have an iPhone you will easily know how to opperate this device. My daughter uses my iTunes account so I easily keep track of her purchases. I get an immediate e-mail notice.]

Nice, Lighter than the 2/3/4 and just as fast as the 3/4. Fits easier in my hands when I am active, and I like that it doesn't have a plastic bezel surrounding it.
Decent battery life, and takes great pictures. Probably the best (excluding the Air series) one they make!

I received this iPad mini for my birthday from my hubby! So happy with my iPad I can't put it down,I rarely use my MacBook Pro anymore! I'm a gadget geek and have had several tablets over then years and the mini is by far the best yet!its definitely a keeper!

The box had a lot of wear like this has been getting tossed around warehouses for the better part of its life. That's why I am Leary of Walmart electronics as they buy the close outs to get the deals.

I bought this to replace the iPad 1st generation that was getting just a little too difficult to use because the IOS couldn't be updated. This is a great little tablet. Easy to use. Synced all my apps and info with ease.

This is my new favorite tablet now. It's small size and sleek design make it a very handy device. It's always with me in my bag and it's the one I use at home, too. The classic iPad now feels too bulky for me and this one is the one I use on a regular basis.

The iPad mini was in great condition. But, it didn't come with a SIM card, and after contacting the seller, I had to go to an AT&T store to request one. Then the iPad mini still couldn't get service and the store couldn't help me. AT&T salesman gave me a help number. I called it and they helped me restore the Internet function to factory defaults. I feel the seller should have taken those steps already. I am not really an IT person, so it was frustrating to me as I didn't know these steps. Otherwise, the sale and delivery were good.

absolutely excited about this Ipad! so easy to use and does everything i need it too and more. Picture is beautiful and web browsing is fast,. The only draw back is that there is no micro sd or sd slot.....but its not a huge deal because of cloud and the awesome sync technology that it has. getting started with this was easy and fast! comes nearly fully charged so you can play with it right away. Im so happy with my purchase. apple fan or not, this is an awesome tablet.The back of the device is too slippery and you need a case , so just keep that in mind.

I don't usually treat myself but I have been interested in the iPad mini for a while. My sister and her husband both have had theirs since early last year and have had nothing but great things to say. After seeing the high quality pictures taken by their minis on my graduation day, I knew I had to get one. Question was: should I buy the more expensive new retina model or the one that was closer to my budget? I read some discouraging reviews about the clarity of this screen but, being a newly graduated broke student, I decided to "settle". I am glad I did! The screen is excellent , I find the games to have wonderful clarity and my videos and websites load quickly and efficiently. I think the reviews are simply a case of "the new screen is better so now mine seems poor in comparison" I have had it for two weeks no and am enjoying every second of it! I also bought the square trade warranty, as I have heard the glass screens of apple products are prone to breaking when in the hands of a clumsy person like me!

THERE ARE PLUSES AN IMUSES WITH THIS PRODUCT. I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD KINDLE THAT FINDS THE WI-FI SIGNAL IN MY HOME ABOUT 10 TIMES FASTER THAN THE 1PAD MINI RETINA. THAT'S FROM POWER ON AND SELRCTING WI-FI.. MY IPAD FRIENDS AND THE GUYS IN THE APPLE STORE TELL ME NOT TO SHUT OFF THE WI-FI PUT JUST LET IT GO IN SLEEP MODE. WHEN I LEAVE THE IPAD WI-FI ON AND PUT IT IN SLEEP MODE THE BATTERY DRAIN IS SIGNIFICANT. NOT SO WITH THE KINDLE.
IN RETROSPECT I SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED ANOTHER KINDLE.

I bought this used from ezcorp. Item arrived quickly and perfectly described. The Battery is great! The speed is a breath of fresh air! I immediately added covers which makes it easier to hold. I don't even want to use my laptop anymore.

By now, you probably already know that this is a great product. Performance is smooth, pictures are crisp, and the battery lasts longer than almost any other tablet you can buy. What makes this product even better is that it's backed by Apple. Apple is one of the easiest companies to work with, and if something goes wrong with your device, they will usually spend no time in helping you get a replacement. I dropped mine a few weeks after I bought it, and I called Apple, and they gave me a new one under the warranty no questions asked.

bought this for my son. I was a little nervous because it was cheap and I think refurbished. but it's working very well (we've had it for a few months now) and has everything he needs. plus a few extras like siri.

We were very nervous about buying online, from a seller we didn't know but none of the physical stores had any ipad minis left, only ipad retnias. We were upgrading from the ipad (original) because most of our apps were no longer update-able and most apps quit within minutes of being opened. The ipad mini is SUCH an improvement, i wish we hadn't waited so long! The graphics are so much crisper than the original ipad, and the apps are all very fast and responsive. I was worried that we wouldn't like the size, but I actually like the smaller size better because when I hold the ipad portrait, i can easily type with my thumbs without having to stretch into awkward positions. The ipad arrived quick, and was packaged well.
