Ipad is the only apple product to get heavier and hotter with every generation. Everything else gets slimmer and cooler and thankfully the ipad mini has been redesigned from the ground up to be the slim sleek product apple is known for. Unfortunately they used cheaper tech to lower cost while charging a premium for a small tablet. If they had matched the specs of the larger ipad OR charged less to better match the pricing of other 7" tablets I'd have one right now. Yes it is true I do not own a mini, but I have owned an ipad 2 and played around with my coworkers mini.
The following are from my brief use of my coworkers mini and so this is not an in depth or long term insight on this product, but I think many of the points are valid.
PROS:
-Size, weight, thin profile - all considered standard on most apple products.
-Lightning connector... it's true they have hosed everyone with their new connector but their old standard 15-pin was becoming dated... too large and not reversible.
-OS is streamlined and comfy, those that own apple products are at home and folks that are not tech savvy are more comfortable with this OS
-Tons of apps
CONS:
-Pricing considering that android competition is selling at $199
-OS is limiting. No where near the customization available to android users.
-Stereo speakers are welcome, but not when they are placed one inch apart, come on apple...
-Itunes is a pain (not as bad as Microsoft, but still cumbersome at times)
COMMENTS:
-People keep stating NFC is a con.. it's an apple, get over it. buy an android product
-People complain about lack of Retina display. Get over it, the pixel size is still comparable with the ipad 2 and the goal was portability, not pixel density.
INNOVATION:
I think apple would benefit from incorporating GPS into every product they sell and then offering free 3G for all location services, no email, no internet, BUT free location updates for all those apps that rely on location services. Maybe your comments won't post until you get home (or a free wifi location), but you would get the benefits of integrated gps for accurate navigation and location info. Off my soapbox.

I love this iPad Mini! I've used it less than a week, but it's a keeper! It holds power well, and surfs the net smoothly. Even when the power is dropping, it doesn't seem to majorly effect the efficiency of this product. I am pleased with the camera, makes beautiful clear pictures, and very nice videos. Already, I've downloaded free books from Apple, and the print is very easy to see. I have yet to try it on our HDMI television, but that is next! Couldn't be happier with this product, you can never go wrong with anything Mac. No more 1 million and one things grinding in the background, like every PC I've ever had!

Apple product with little discounted rate , does add to the little satisfaction and joy to the customer. Brand new piece with utmost care of packing makes it feel more better and satisfied about the product and the seller.

I had been wanting an I pad for quite awhile. I had my Kindle Fire and loved it but last October I switched to an I phone 5c and wanted the I pad mini for the sinking of apps and books between the two. The mini is great and I use it everyday. I have the Kindle app on the mini in order to read my current book that is on my original Kindle. I love the mini. It is compact and easy to carry everywhere. The Wi-Fi is great. My 6 year old grandson and I enjoy the apps we have downloaded on it. I like the new tech electronics and this one is at the top of my list.

Great product, of course. It IS an Apple product after all. The seller's description was accurate and delivery was swift.
Very happy overall.
I had to knock off one star because of the confusion I went through trying to determine the generation model of the ipad before I made the purchase. I had wanted a 2nd gen, 32 gig, ipad mini. However, there was NO information as to whether the ipad listed was a first gen or second gen. Other than a brief comment in the questions area indicating that the seller didn't know.
Turns out the ipad that was sent to me is a first gen. Not that it matters really. Right now, there isn't much difference between the two generations. But it would have been helpful to have that important bit of info available.
Overall tho, it was a positive experience. I'd buy from the seller again happily.

Item received without damage, on date promised. Seems to be working fine as I'm a novice on mini-iPads. No User's Guide furnished with item...minimal info to get started with. Manufacturer "assumes" you know how to make it get started. Lots of switching back and forth at first looking for apps to put on it! At least 8 hours later I'm still trying to "personalize" it to my liking!

Love the iPad! The feel, screen and size are perfect for school, reading an electronic book on vacation, really anything! Would highly recommend, especially at the prices found here!

Exactly what I wanted. Light weight, easy to use, and intuitive. While some apps are not available as they are for iphone only, You can still download the iphone version and use it on your ipad mini - the app just has a lower resolution. Highly recommend!

It doesn't come with written directions. You're supposed to turn it on and it will "talk you through." Thing is, I turn it on, I click next and next and next, following the directions, and then it goes black. It is fully charged. I turn it on again and am at the beginning. I click next, next, next, and then it goes black. Basically, it's looking like the brand new fully charged three hundred dollar i-pad mini isn't working at all.

For everyone skeptical of whether this is the real deal.... Well It Is!!!!! I ran the serial number and it is legit. I love my new iPad mini. It is sleek and sophisticated. I always get compliments on how nice it looks and how great it is for taking photos. It is perfect for women who don't like carrying large handbags.

My grandson loves it! His friends told him he should get the 32GB version, but didn't think he needed 3G/4G capability so I save a buck and just got the wi-fi model.

the best tablet for under 300 bucks--period--but the Kindle Fire 8 HD is good too-in fact very good.Ipad has a major edge on function--Kindle is by far a better reader and better sound and pic--but typing--no--a good pair if you can afford both

I bought this when target had it on sale for father's day and I'm glad I bought because at first I thought why buy it when I already had the kindle fire hd7. I like the the safari browser a lot better than the kindle silk browser. I'm not sorry that I bought the kindle fire but the ipad mini is a lot better. I still prefer the kindle paperwhite for reading books.

Ever since I have purchased Apple products I have never went to another company. I really liked the iPhone but hands down the iPad Mini is the best gadget I have ever owned! This is my first tablet. This gadget is amazing and does so many things that I'm yet to learn. It is ingenious and brilliant, I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends when they are thinking of purchasing a tablet.

My son loves his iPad and the scratches are not that bad on it, I was told it only had 1 scratch but when I inspected it there was 2 other scratches but my son wanted to keep it. Plus they only refunded me only $30 dollars and when I had told them it had about 2 more starches they said that they would refund me back another $20 but they never did.

The ipad mini came almost brand new not a scrash the touch screen works perfectly well and its fast, but the home button doesn't function properly sometimes it gets stuck.

The ipad mini has a wonderfully crisp display and is like a larger version of the iphone without the phone. It's the perfect size to travel with as it easily fits into my handbag. The battery life is great and lasts a good 8 hours of heavy gaming. It charges up quite quickly as well. A great product!
