Does what it is meant to do. Unfortunately, It has drawbacks in that it requires considerable vigilance keeping my 7 year old son's use down.

While I am lost as to why Apple couldn't just name this "iPad Mini 2" we had purchased the Mini 1 a year ago and loved it. However, we found that sometimes video playback was choppy. Having found someone willing to pay us almost what we paid originally for our first mini we decided to go ahead and upgrade having read so many positive reviews about the faster processor and more memory in this unit solving our video issues.
Sure enough, it did! This mini is much faster than the 1 (which we truly had no other issues with except some videos) and our video playback issues are a memory. This unit is solid like all Apple hardware and we use it every day. Highly recommended!

I bought this for my wife after I bought one for myself. She thought is was a waste of money to just read books, but I seldom see her without it. She uses it for social media, for Bible study, for internet browsing, and more. She's hooked just as I am.

i do not like apple devices, but this is for my girl friend, who thinks this one is better than her ipad 3, and she likes it very much.

One of the best tablets I have used so far. It's super fast with very liquid like graphics. It's the perfect size, not as small as other 7 inch tablets. Super light weight and sleek. This tab does all you want it to do and more.

The battery time is not 10 hours. Maximum 5-6 hours. Got kicked out a few times from page which I was viewing when I was moving in my seat. If you can get it for under $230 and watch videos or read online is a very handy thing.

I prefer apple tablets over any other. So far we are a team, we get the job done quick and easy. I almost didn't buy because it did come from a third party seller, but I have insurance on it, and so far I have had no problems.

I have owned Apple iPod Touches and iPhones in the past. This was my chance to use my $100 Amazon Gift card to help purchase the iPad Mini I wanted. Although I like my iPhone and iPod Touch for watching videos - the screen is small. The Mini brings the screen to the size I like (especially when I watch videos for 1 to 2 hours at a time). I did not have to purchase this product through Apple Inc - but instead used my gift card through Amazon instead.

This is a very non-technical review -- the newest version of the iPad rocks with its portability. This iPad mini easily slips into a purse or jacket pocket making it easy to carry around for either a female or male. You get all of the perks of the regular iPad with the extra benefit of being able to carry it around with you everywhere. Simply amazing!
I love my iPad and use it more than any other electronic devise but I mourned its lack of portability. The iPad's size is great for watching tv, movies, reading books or light document work but a hassle to carry around. I had to dig out my huge purse to carry it around anywhere and the weight and size was cumbersome. This iPad mini is slimmer, lighter and smaller and oh so convenient to take with me when I leave the house.
The smaller size does impact my document usage but since I use it mostly for entertainment, this is really minor for me but will affect those who use the iPad for work. I keep hearing the iPad mini lacks the same power (slower processor) as the iPad but I don't feel it. I've played games on it, watched videos, etc. without any noticeable difference. Maybe power is an issue with heavy document usage? I did deduct a half star for the lower screen resolution than the newest iPad while keeping the price tag around $350. Seriously? The lower resolution is not so much apparent on iTunes purchases but more visible on home video or other sourced digital media.
How does Apple seduce me into wanting their newest product (although, I'm proud so say I avoided their siren's call for the iPhone 5) and after using it, making it the newest best thing I cannot live without? Husband says it makes the regular iPad positively clunky and almost archaic but I think it's more sinister - it makes me appreciate the iPad for home use and the iPad mini for away-from-home use. Great, now I've used up my gift allowance for all of 2013....but you won't find me complaining this Christmas, birthday or anniversary because the iPad mini is worth it!
Overall, if you can splurge this is the one thing you really want to spend your money on. As long as you are looking primarily for entertainment value, the iPad mini provides all the same options of the iPad (apps, digital media and dependability) but on a smaller, lighter and more portable scale.

4 Stars because nothing is perfect.
Apps for anything you can think of.
Swapped out the AT&T SIMM to T=Mobile SIMM.
No problem at all.
I even use VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocall) to make phone calls with it.
I highly recommend the Apple iPad Mini.

The Ipad mini is a great product. Unfortunately, we got a defective product that had a touch screen problem. The good news is once we set up an appt at the apple store and they reviewed the problem, we were given a new Ipad mini under warranty.
The product is great and my rating would be higher if the defect issue didn't occur.

I'm totally happy with this device. The price ($315) made me skeptical, but I pulled the trigger and was satisfied with the new iPad mini I received. I take it with me everywhere, and use it quite a bit.

This ipad started out well, but in an hour or so it would freeze up and the icons would start shaking. I opted to return it for a credit. Think i'll go with the Kindle Fire next time.

It's for my 2 year old grand daughter. I had purchased 4 of these previously for my other 4 grandchildren. At the time they were 2, 3 4,6. they have all loved them. They have been great for them to learn, educational and easy for them to learn. The newest one was delighted to receive hers. Her sisters were happy for her to haver her own too. Her parents are happy to have their iPhones back.

The size is completely portable. It replaces my Sony eReader perfectly, plus having sooo much more. Pretty much just like the larger iPad versions, just a bit smaller. Since I did not buy it on a phone plan, It does need wifi to access to use the web. I even have the recent MS Office 365 installed on it and love that. Game play uses the battery quickly, but I think that's pretty much on par with other "smart" units. Otherwise, the battery hangs in there.

As soon as the iPad mini came out I knew I was going to get one. I didn't right away making sure they got all the bugs out of it and waited intil I needed it. Very portable and perfect for watching movies on a plane or in a car. Not too big and not too small, it's literally the perfect size. If you don't want to carry around a laptop and you are a fan of Apple, then this is for you!
