The package arrived in two days.
Set-up was a breeze, and the iPad works great.
The sound and video recording capabilities are truly amazing. I compared this to two other tablets, and the iPad mini wins in terms of clarity hands down.
My only complaint is not with the machine itself, but the new operating system takes up a huge amount of the limited storage in the iPad.
All in all, a great device!

I was hesitant to purchase the ipad mini from a dealer because there were only stock pics and limited description but I'm very happy I took the chance. First, I contacted the seller to ask a question and they replied the same day with an answer so 5 stars for communication. Second, the product arrived in it's original box with the serial number of the device matching the packaging, this exceeded my expectation. Accessories were neatly stowed as if they had never been used. I could find no blemishes on the ipad mini, it looked like new. I took it by my local Apple store to have them check it out and they confirmed that it was like new. They were also able to look it up and tell me when it was originally purchased (Nov) and they registered it to me.
I've been using the mini for a few weeks now and I love the size for convenience. It's extremely thin and fits in my purse. I had the Nook Tablet before this and find that they are very similar in size. I also have the iPad 3 and for regular use, I prefer the larger screen. I wanted the mini for travel and it will be perfect. Everything I have on my iPad 3 can be put on my mini so when I travel, I have everything I need. I bought the 32 gig and I currently have 7 full length movies and 25 tv episodes (40+ min each) in addition to 130 songs and 84 apps of which 16 are games so it holds quite a bit of entertainment. I have a little over 2 gigs available. My iPad 3 has 64g so I was worried I'd miss the space.
The mini feels much more thin and delicate than my iPad 3 and my Nook Tablet. I worry about it breaking and wish LifeProof had a case out for it. In portrait view, the sides are narrow so holding it just there can be precarious. I let it lay on my palm with my thumb on the narrow edge for more support. The screen size is satisfactory and I've had no screen issues while watching movies. Many say if you are used to the retina display then this will disappoint but I don't have that problem. Movies display in wide width with the ability to increase the size to full screen by zoom. Sound is excellent. Alone it is fine on 5-6 level and with other noise, 7-8 is fine. Camera works with ease and seems to have the same functions as my iPad 3 including front facing camera, zoom and video. Apps made for the iPhone can be increased in size but a little visual quality is lost due to pixelation. IPad apps look great. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the product and the seller. I recommend and would definitely purchase again.

After purchasing this nearly 2 years ago, my iPad still looks like it is new. Everything is still functioning perfectly, so buyers can be assured of the durability of this product. Personally, I love my Mini, as I find normal iPads too bulky, so this is the perfect size. The functionality of this product is top notch, and the build quality is especially great; the only concern is the hefty price tag. However, if you are looking for a powerful tablet with a lot of durability, this would be the one.

This is my first iPad although I have had Apple products ranging from the G5 to iPod Nano. I was really excited when the iPad Mini first came out but waited for a new iPad Mini to unveil before buying one. I have owned a variety of Android based tablets, my feeling is you pay for what you get. Yes the price tag of the iPad Mini w/ Retina Display was like wow I could buy a sweet Android set up for that, however, my G5 I owned for 5 years with no complaints except Apple stopped making software for it. I still miss it and knew that if I bought this iPad Mini it was an investment as well, keep it in good condition and the re-sale value holds.
So far I love the ease of using it. I got the 32gb one since since iCloud can store anything I don't need immediately. I loaded a ton of music and about 2,700 photos (I'm a photographer) and still have 19gb storage available. It is very thin and easy to hold with one hand while reading or surfing the web. I also enjoy gaming on it. I have the Order & Chaos game on it and it runs seamlessly. I did buy a case to keep it in good condition as well as for ease of holding onto it as it is a bit slippery. Pictures and movies are beautiful on this screen.
I see many advantages to it and will be looking into using it on the business side as well. I also love how all my Apple products work flawlessly together. I would suggest this tablet to anyone. Just play with it for 5 minutes and you will be hooked.

My husband bought this for me when it first came out because I own most things Apple. Despite my being a huge Apple fan, I wasn't sure I'd put this to good use. In the past month I've really come to love this thing.
First off, while this does not have the advanced retina display of the iPad3, it produces a very clear and crisp image. It makes this the perfect device to use as an ereader because it can be held in one hand, yet it has the full functionality of a full size iPad minus advanced retina display.
The speedy processor makes this lightening fast and unbelievably responsive and zippy. I use this just as I use my iPad2 and that means I can use it not just recreationally but also for some vital business functions. Like my iPhone, it keeps me in touch with my mail as well as the net while being easier to manipulate. If an app works on the iPad it will work on the Mini..
I like the screen size which is just about perfect for a portable device that can fit in my hand and in a smaller purse. In fact, one of the reasons my husband popped for this is because it is comparable in size to a Kindle and is really portable and does not require a special carrying case, etc.
The iSight camera, at 5 megapixels, is great. Produces clear and vivid pictures without any distortion.
The all aluminum body is solid and the mini's construction is flawless. It is razor thin and weighs in well under a pound.
I like the Lightening connector, but that does have a downside in that this is not interchangeable with the 30 prong connector that powers all of my other devices except the iPad4.
Another new feature I like is SIRI. All you have to do is depress the screen button to activate SIRI which functions as a personal assistant. I'm still learning how to use it, but it is great to be able to access information with verbal commands.
My only real complaint re: the mini is its price. It seems about $50 to $75 too high for what it is and how it compares to other tablets out there. Still, if you are a happy Apple user you'll pay the asking price.
Ideally, this is best utilized by people on the go. It really suits my lifestyle since I am usually all over the place. Since there are hot spots everywhere I go, it is never a problem to find free wi-fi.

I also have come to view the mini's price as fair given its quality and ease of operation. Of late, my Mini has gone everywhere with me. It is so compact, convenient, and discrete that it adds no appreciable weight to my purse and I can even carry a smaller purse now. I love this thing. It makes me smile a lot.

I'm not a fan of Apple products and I was forced to buy this hot plate looking device to run a single app anyway. There is absolutely no reason to own a tablet if you own a laptop and a phone, much less an Apple tablet because you have to pay the coolness fee on top of this. For example, if you want a cover it will be $50, and you can throw on another $50 if you want a keyboard/cover. It's just not worth it, I would recommend a Windows laptop instead.

I am an Apple head, so maybe my review is a little biased. I love the iPad mini. Its a great tablet and looks beautiful. I have other Apple products and synching all of my content onto it was seamless and easy. The iCloud is a big reason that I like my iPad so much. That being said if you DONT have a lot of Apple content already purchased, its a tough sell. For $299 there are a lot of other great tablets, some even of equal quality to the iPad. The display on my iPad is okay, but after seeing retina display on the mac it becomes slightly disappointing to look at the Mini. I am a college kid that did not want to shell out big bucks on a decked out iPad (this was $200 after gift cards, so it was a better deal) so this model worked perfectly. I always recommend Apple products, and this iPad Mini is no different.

Not Happy
Problems with sound, problem with apps opening when I want it to! Getting to the apps on bottom which have already been open them. For the amount of money apple wants from us for there supposedly superior products this should not be happening for a new product that was purchase only four months ago.

The ipad is a very average machine in terms of day to day use.
Bluetooth will not transfer files to any other mac computer, Airdrop will only connect to iPads and iPhones you have to physically connect to your mac to transfer files. There is iCloud but that is Apples way of forcing you to part with cash the whole system is based on what Apple wants not the consumer.
No in built connections for memory card, video, software like ios7 is very poor no full screen browsing in Safari and no Flash player still. There is a sound issue with the iPad mini it is either all or nothing, there is no gradual progression of sound levels when using the volume buttons. The list goes on and on, I have used mac for many years but I have seen far better tablets for a lot less money, retina screens don't cut it any more with tablets offering better for less.
The only plus side for me is the build quality, but then once your tablet is in a case who would know.
In a nutshell you can get a HD screen tablet, expandable memory to allow you to enjoy movies etc, less restrictive software and more practical functionality at half the price.

I'm really happy with my purchase! It came new and sealed. It is not able to connect to my cellular network but it does connect to wi-if and/or use my phone as a hotspot so this is not an issue and it doesn't cost me an additional 20 bucks a month in a new line for my phone, extra data, taxes etc. Unless you are out of so-if range a lot or really set on getting texts from non-apple contacts this shouldn't be an issue. The size if the Mimi is great. Easy to handle and navigate.

I have been sitting around for years debating whether or not I should purchase an iPad. I kept putting it off because I own an iPhone and have for about five years now. I don't know why I waited so long. I opted to purchase through Amazon since I have yet to have a bad experience and I have to say this is no exception. It arrived sealed in its box and as soon as I took it out I instantly fell in love with it. I own a Kindle (with special offers) but downloaded the Kindle app and ended up using this thing non-stop to study for my NREMT exam. My guilty pleasure is watching Netflix on my computer at night as I fall asleep but now that I have an iPad (and a Lifeproof case I purchased at the same time) it has been a lot easier on both myself and the machine, haha. If you've been putting it off you won't regret purchasing it. I am just sorry I didn't dive in sooner.

I am totally pleased and thrilled with my Apple iPad. I got a fabulous deal from the vendor and would highly recommend the iPad over other tablets. Much versatility and a great selection of apps from the Apple online app store. This is the way to go!

Nothing much to say here except that its almost exactly the same as the IPad mini with retina display. The only difference now is that this has touch ID and comes with ios 8. Get the IPad Mini with retina display, its $100 cheaper.

I ordered this as a gift and got to try it out briefly before giving it and it really works nice. Finding out how to turn it off was something I had to googke search but that worked out nice. I first tried a tablet computer in 2012 and it so big and clunky! The minis are just great they do the same thing without the added risk of dropping and breaking because of the size being too big. This one was easy to handle and pick up and hold to play with it other than me having to do a little searching real fast to find out how to turn it off. The screen and borders look nice. It got here in perfect condition with all its accessories! The white color shines and is easy to look at and clean! I checked it and it operates just fine! The database on google helped me learn how to turn it off because that was really confusing at first. It's a virgin item, as far as I know, no one other than me turned it on, it wasn't a reused item which is good to know, considering the review up top. Really good buy!
