Bought it for my youngest daughter and she loves it . She's always using it . I also bought a case because I was concerned with how thin it is . The case folds so you can stand the iPad up and watch videos /movies

I have always been a fan of gadgets. When I was growing up, there were few gadgets around to satisfy my gadget need; however, since I have reached my "golden years" there are gadgets galore. My first electronic gadget I bought when was when I was in college - the second time. A chemistry class was making my little ole numbers-handicapped brain spin. Then along came the Texas Instruments calculator...WOW, it ran on batteries and figured out things for me. I was in heaven and so began my love of electronic gadgets. As a professional I had a plethora of electronic gadgets at my disposal (and I still did anesthesia with a calculator.) The gadgets did get more complex, and expensive, as I got older and I do have a "thing" for laptop computers and have owned several...I prefer to surf in my lounge chair, with the computer in lap, my feet up, and a tv show in front of me as opposed to sitting at a desk, etc. Then I planned a trip to Europe this year. I wanted to be able to communicate with the folks back home without having to tote my laptop, so what to do. Well, BINGO...you got it. I needed an iPad! And where do I go to purchase all my best "Good Gadgets"??? To my laptop and Amazon of course!!! Didn't take long before I located my sweet, little, cool, white, handy-dandy, baby who computes from my lounge chair and any place else with wi-fi...and she weighs much less than the laptop, even fits in my purse. With Amazon in charge and freebie electronics actually providing the product for my purchase...WOW, what a deal. Amazon's usually lightening fast, but I had my little, cool, shiny, new, white, baby in less than 2 days - all securely packed and ready to rumble. And so we have continued to do sending messages/pictures home from Europe, playing games (which I never did before), and reading my fav magazines...SUCH A DEAL! Give them a try! Yall take my word for it...it's great! They're great.

Got a 32GB iPad mini 2 for $50 less than the 16gb 3 and the only difference is that the three has Touch ID, both will end on the same ios since they have the same chipset

I was very skeptical at getting this as a new in the box ipad based on the price that was very low, but hey i am a believer now. It came as advertised and in perfect condition. I have had it for about a month and its a great addition to our gadget world.

Usually I go with android products but I've recently switched to an I phone and I loved it so I decided to give this a try. Great functionality just like the I phone it is sleek and simple. Very lightweight unlike some of the samsung tablets.Also very easy to use and I love the camera. The only con is that you cannot add storage by a sd card like you can with other tablets.

I like apple products but I'm not too crazy about it either. I don't make a big deal like some people who just can't stay quite and choose to be a apple fanatic. iPad mini is good but in my humble opinion I don't think it's as good as nexus 7 or samsung tablets just because their tablets has a much more interactive fluid operation system with better features and more perks. For example, the galaxy tab note has a ton of better features than mini. The mini is very simple very basic. It's almost like a big version of iPhone or phablet. I have had the experience of using mini and when I compared it to my old nexus 7 and galaxy note for me I could see the big difference in the operation system, features, and the overall quality of all the three devices and basically decided that I prefer android tablets (namely Samsung or nexus) rather than apple ipad generation of tablets. Maybe in the future when there's better features integrated and operating system improves for apple products or IOS than I will consider apple products but for now I enjoy android operation system and their way cooler than apple so I'll stay with android for the the time being. Hope this helps a little! Oh and to make it a little more clearer i think iPad min is okay, not the best!

I had iPad 2 for two years. I was thinking about upgrading it to iPad Mini and finally pulled the trigger on this.
iPad 2 was too heavy for me. My arms would get tired whenever I am using it laying down.
This was perfect in size and weight.
I was not really pleasant about sacrificing the screen size, but this is not bad.
Since the screen is small retina display wasn't much help at all.
Just like you don't need 1080p in your 15.6" laptop, you don't need retina display on this little screen.
If it was a laptop for example, it'd be better to have 1080p display on 17.3" screen instead of 720p.
Only reason I got it was because of faster A7 chip.
If you are so fascinated about "beautiful retina display," get Air. Retina on little display is just stupid and overpriced.

Sleek. Fast. Smart. I think this is the perfect tablet size. Small enough to be portable but big enough to allow easy Web browsing and pleasant video viewing. Not many cases are availible in my area.

Nice device. One really neat unintended use for the mini is that it is a great e-reader. I have an old school kindle and I loved using it but it became clunky and had no backlight. The Kindle app on the iPad mini gives you the exact same experience of a kindle but with a backlight and about half the weight. In addition I use it for music, web browsing, taking pics etc. I like the portable nature and ease of use (I am a total Mac snob, the cross platform is great for apps, music, photos etc.

basically it's exactly what you think you're buying. a smaller ipad altogether. works just like its larger counterpart. streams movies on netflix well, good for games, books, and various other apps you can think of. if you are worried about how nice the ipad is, then don't be it's fine. if anything is going to happen to it the problem will be within the shipping if someone drops the box it's in. What you should worry about is how big of a hard drive you want, if you get a case make sure you get a dark color to hide stains if you might be eating with it around or something, and make sure you get the tablet you want in general. look at the larger ipad, the google tablet, all of them do your research before spending all your money on this.

I'm a newcomer when it comes to Apple products. This is my first IPad and it has impressed me. The education apps available are top-notch. I honestly don't know how I've lived this long without trying out an IPad. Goodbye Android Hello sweet Apple!

I was torn between the iPad Air and the Mini Retina. I was in the market for a tablet that would let me read my newspapers and magazines in the mornings (WSJ, BusinessWeek, Evo, etc.) and play games in the afternoons after work.
I am *very* happy that I picked the Mini Retina over the Air! Not only did I save almost $150 over the base Air, I also realized that a Mini is PLENTY big if you're looking for a portable tablet! The 2" deficit over the Air is not noticeable at all, even though I played around with an Air for a few days. I am happy that I went for the compact Mini; it's perfect.
Performance and battery life are also commendable. There is absolutely no lag or delay in the OS at all. Further, my battery lasts 5-6 days with normal usage.
Stop reading the reviews and order the Mini Retina. You won't have a single regret after you power it on for the first time.

This is the third one I've purchased. One for myself, one for my five-year-old granddaughter, and one for my eighty-eight year old mother. Obviously, I think it is easy to use and good for all ages!

I had a Apple iPad before but I didn't use it much outside of my home. The size of this one is convenient so I can put it on my backpack without adding much weight.

I had my iPad 2 for several years before switching to the new iPad mini with retina display. The retina is pretty but to me its unnecessary; i thought the resolution on my iPad 2 looked just fine. The newer processer in the mini with retina is what really impresses me. I didn't realize that i had gotten accustomed to waiting a few seconds for apps to open and again while switching between them. This new iPad mini doesn't have any of that "lag" i experienced with the iPad 2. It switches between apps seamlessly and quickly. It also has impressive battery life, i can start the week with it fully charged, watch netflix on my breaks and lunches at work and i will usually run out of juice about the end of the day thursday. And i use it throughout the day to check emails, online banking, send iMessages etc. Also, despite some reservations i had at first about the smaller screen size, the clarity more than makes up for it and it is the perfect size for holding in one hand. I'll never go back to a full sized iPad.
