Bought as a gift for my mom and she loves it. Got it extra cheap from Amazon as a slightly damaged package but there was hardly anything wrong with it. Score for me!!

heres the problem i paid for a ipad mini with retina 32gb instead they sent a ipad air 32gb happy but pissed cuz now i gotta return the case i got for it i love the ipad air 32gb also it has cellular thats a bonus but still pissed

I have been using my ipad mini now for a couple of weeks and I love it. It is just like my iphone, but on a bigger scale. I have fallen in love with it so much that now when I go on blog conferences, I don't even take my laptop with me. I just bring my ipad with me and the bluetooth keyboard for the perfect mini computer.

I love, love, love this mini ipad. I had the larger style but it was clunky and heavy. I wanted to be able to carry it around in my purse, which I can do with this item. The screen is very crisp. I have no complaints about this.
I also bought the usb adapter for it, that allows you to plug in a camera using the USB cable, and immediately load pictures. What a great accessory!

I hate this product. It is junk. Why?
1. The screen: Breaks so much. It doesn't matter what case you use. This will break!
2. The camera: So grainy. Sometimes it would be a better idea to film with a potato. At least when I drop a potato, it doesn't break into a million pieces when you drop it.
3. Crashes.
4. The price: It isn't that much cheaper than a regular iPad, but it is crappier.
Overall, don't waste your money on this junk. Get something better. What happened, Apple?!

The iPad mini retina is great. I work from home in the web development business and always seem to be glued to my computer. I wanted one of these so I didn't have to always run back to my computer during off hours. The mini is great for everything I need to do, code editing, file transfer, email, messaging, skype etc. Where it really excels tho, is watching movies or TV shows. I have the WiFi version and when I connect to wifi, I can stream video flawlessly and the picture is exceptional. I am an electronics junkie and I have some pretty high end TV equipment in my house so I like to think i know what a good picture consists of. The mini won't let you down!

Our iPad mini came quickly and well packaged. It came in the original iPad box and we love it. It works well and we have had absolutely no issues with it! Definitely recommend!

I'm used to PC's. This has been VERY hard for me to learn to use; I hired a tech, I needed it for one application. It's probably ok, I just don't understand it very well.

if you need a tablet for working with music (production, dj'ing, etc.), get this. full core audio/midi makes this your best and pretty much only option. its also a pretty capable vj machine.
if you need a tablet for anything else, get an android. seriously, i love apple products, but this thing is useless as an entertainment/productivity device compared to most competing products. ios is wonderful on small screens but awkward and underwhelming on large ones. i can appreciate the understated design but it's just too simple. its myriad apps are solid and attractive but ultimately fail to make up for the absence of a manageable file browser and complete prohibition of downloads.
remember though: it's the best for working with music!

AMAZING!! I love it, I love it. My boyfriend bought it for me for my birthday, and it's simply amazing. The wallpapers and game look breathtaking with the retina display. I very highly recommend it. Also, the battery lasts forever. I went five days without charging it, still worked amazingly. 10/10 do recommend.

Unreal omg. Why didnt i invest earlier? OK.You do get what you pay for! Beautiful 8in 2x HD screen with full tested 64bit OS, hardware, dual core + coprocessor, smooth and fast interface at 60fps....no...lag...using Coach's Eye to video review with onscreen arrows and prompts for my kettlebell strength coaching business IS night and day difference; compared with the $75 Chinese Noria 7in Android tablet...which is OK for basic surfing only,barely. My kids don't want it...gaming stutter and crashing and consistent delays. Android needs an app killer? .APPLE ROCKS.

Love it for reading. Quick browser searches. Wish it had closed caption capability so I could cast movies to the TV with captions for my hard of hearing husband. You can do this with the iPad but not the mini.

I got my hands on one of these a couple of days ago and absolutely love it.
Pros:
- It's very thin and light, yet sturdy.
- The CPU runs fast and performance isn't an issue with the applications I need it for, which is mostly web development.
- It has the compactness of an iphone with the power of a full sized ipad; it's a great compromise between the two .
Cons
- It's very easy to use up 16gb of memory quickly, so I'd recommend the 32GB model:

I've wanted a tablet for a long time and bought this a few days ago. It's an amazing product that can do practically anything! It's convenient to have a tablet when you want to sit on the couch instead of a laptop sliding all over your lap. Plus, it's a good size, since I think the iPad and iPad Air models are too large for me personally. If you want a reasonably priced tablet, I definitely recommend it!

The iPad mini is a good product, I guess, but here is my problem. I have two original ipads (a Gen I and recent Gen III). The big ipads are very robust; kids play with them, drop them out windows, use them to build forts, teach the dogs to fetch, etc., and I throw them in my pickup, use them on the jobsite, whatever. Ive had the Gen I since 2010, and the other one for more than a year, and, although they both have extensive damage to the metal cases, and although the screen seal of the Gen I is half gone, neither screen has ever cracked.
Both of my ipad minis have cracked screens. One broke while bouncing up and down on the floor of my truck while driving on a dirt road. The other screen broke when two of my kids were in a tug o war over the ipad. They didn't drop it, one just twisted it out of the others' hand and it cracked. The ironic thing was when I went to the istore, and some "Genius" explained to me that I am totally wrong, and the iPad mini is much more robust than the ipad original. Obviously I know the "Genius" thing is supposed to be ironic, but this was still a little irritating.
Here is the deal. The ipad mini with a broken screen costs $219 to fix. That is right. $220 to fix a product that costs a hair over $300 bucks. I sold the first one on ebay for $170 (I mean, seriously, who would pay $170 for a broken ipad mini? What is going on there? Who knows?) I am about to list the second.
Bottom line: If you are a very careful old lady who uses the ipad mini once or twice a month on foam rubber on the floor and caresses the screen gently with a hypoallergenic goose feather before your servant locks it back away in a padded vault, this is the perfect device for you. On the other hand, if you are like a regular person who might actually use the device in the real world, the ipad mini is a little too dainty, especially if you have kids. I would definitely recommend the big ipad instead.
Go on the apple support forums and you will see that my problem is very common with the mini. Good luck!
