It currently works great
I’ve had the drive for a few weeks now and it is absolutely performing to expectations.
It is in a Synology DS720 NAS with an equivalent Seagate 4GB drive to mirror content.
So far I have been able to backup the files from my older NAS without any issue and additional files from my network. The NAS reports the drives as operational and working effectively.
Hopefully this will continue - I will edit if any problems occur.

Für mein neues NAS (Synology DS220) brauchte ich noch eine zweite NAS Festplatte.
Da ich schon eine WD Red Plus 4 TB hatte, habe ich mich für eine baugleiche HDD entschieden (wegen der Spieglung in der NAS)

Я заказал один для своего NAS, его коробка хорошо упакована губкой, которая, даже если бы он пришел ко мне в случайно сделанной упаковке, спасла бы его.
новый запечатанный антистатический конверт, я проверил диск с помощью CrystalDiskInfo, и он оказался новым (загружен 4 раза и активен в течение нескольких часов, как я его использовал).

Bom preço, rápido e bastante silencioso.
Comprei 3 WD Red Plus de 14 TB para um NAS QNAP e estou bastante satisfeito com esta aquisição. Coloquei pastilhas espessas de feltro nos apoios do NAS (para reduzir a transmissão de vibrações) e este é praticamente inaudível no compartimento em que está colocado.

Usage NAS ok.

Nota dolente, molto più costoso su Amazon, preso solo la velocità di prime. Da acquistare su altre piattaforme.

Très bons disques durs. Utilisé dans un Nas Synology.
Attention quand même à la durée de vie, mon premier a rendu l'âme un peu après la garantie de 2 ans, le second était sous garantie 3 ans, mais Amazon ne prend en charge la garantie que de 2 ans. Il faut faire les démarches assez compliquées chez WD et le renvoyer à nos frais pour récupérer un nouveau disque dur.

A little noisy, but otherwise fine
Fairly standard NAS drive, but beware these are 3.6 TB due to the different storage units between the manufacturer and most OSs. Drives are quite noisy as well, but that's not really a problem.

Time will tell but decent value and a good size
Purchased to extend storage on a Synology NAS - appear to be working perfectly. Time will tell I guess. They appear to be at least as performant as my previous pair of NAS drives (one of which finally started to fail after many years of constant service).

De momento me da buen sabor, lo recomendaria para almacenamiento, aunque para tener una opinion mas concreta tendria que ser despues de 6 meses como minimo de uso. Pero de momento es todo MUY ACE^TABLE, aunque habia opciones mas baratas, de 10 a 15€ menos pero la Calidad se paga.

Muy buen disco, precio 119€, CMR 5400RPM, Silencioso y poca vibración... PERO no le pongo 5 estrellas por el envio de Amazon: Pegatina directamente en la caja del disco, me parece muy, pero que muy cutre. Una caja con un poco de proteción, señores de Amazon! Si es verdad que el disco viene en una caja WD original protegida, pero al menos una caja ligera de cartón exterior, que menos por un producto de 119€ no?

Very impressed.
I am running four of these drives in my PC connected to an Adaptec RAID controller. As these drives spin a little bit slower I was expecting transfer rates to suffer, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fast these drives are.
And so far, they work as a RAID array flawlessly.
The four I have are installed in a Silverstone four drive hot-swap bay at the front of my computer and I can barely hear them.
I was so impressed with them that I have just purchased another four of them to expand my RAID array even further.
UPDATE. I bought another four of these drives (as mentioned above) and one of them was Dead on Arrival. The system can see it, but it is reported as being 0GB in size with 0GB free space. I have tried this faulty drive on two separate hard drive controllers and get the same result. This isn't the first time I have had a drive turn up dead on arrival but it is very rare.
And so far, they work as a RAID array flawlessly.

Me ha llegado el modelo WD40EFZX que es un disco CMR, lo justo para el NAS. Lo veo silencioso y rápido, al nivel de otro Seagate Ironwolf que tiene al lado. Por el momento bien, tengo un modelo anterior, el WD40EFRX que no ha dado ni un problema y por eso he repetido con WD, normalmente uso seagates pero ultimamente no me desagradan los WD RED PLUS. Eso sí, no quiero ni ver ni ver en pintura discos con tecnología SMR para un NAS/DAS sea RAID o no. Lo recomendaría, este CMR si merece la pena.

sehr gut, aber ganz schlechte Verpackung
Ich hatte schon öfters Western Digital Red Hard Disks gekauft und war immer zufrieden. Diese Hard Disk war WD Red Plus 4TB mit Nummer WDC WD40EFZX-68AWUN0. Sie funktioniert gut. Ich war jedoch sehr unangenehm überrascht, dass die Hard Disk in einem ungefütterten Pappumschlag geliefert wurde. Deshalb zwei Punkte Abzug. Für solch eine Hard Disk erwarte ich unbedingt als Standard eine stosssicherere Verpackung. Ich werde deshalb mir überlegen, ob ich bei Amazon nochmals eine interne Hard Disk bestelle.

Appalling packaging for a good product
The packaging was terrible. Amazon - you should know better than to ship sensitive electronic equipment in book packaging. No protection at all and one end of the package I received wasn’t even closed. Who knows of this HDD had fallen out of its packaging while being tossed around by Royal Mail. Not to mention there was no internal protection like bubble wrap or brown paper packing material to protect it from shocks or drops. Even Western Digital insist on this when you RMA a faulty drive! So why can’t Amazon when shipping a brand new one?
As for the drive it was registered with WD straight away so I could confirm it was in region. I was worried about this after reading other reviews on here, but this has checked out ok. One word of warning to future buyers - make sure you know or check if you need. CMR or SMH drive. For my NAS I definitely needed a CMR drive and the correct item was shipped. 4 Tb resync completed in about 11 hours. So far so good.

He comprado este disco para sustituir otro de su competencia directa que tras unos meses de uso en un Nas me empezó a dar errores. De momento siempre me han dado buenos resultados los discos de WD. El disco que me ha llegado es EFZX, que al igual que el EFRX es CMR, pero en lugar de contar con 64 MB de caché, este cuenta con 128 MB. Esperemos que dure.

Idéal pour nas synology ds918
Acheté en urgence pour remplacer un disque défectueux dans un Nas Synology.
Arrivé très bien emballé et bien protégé pour éviter les chocs, aucun souci particulier.
Je vais être plus vigilant sur la durée de vie car j'ai l'impression que le disque que j'ai remplacé (un ancien wd red) n'a pas tenu aussi longtemps qu'espéré.

Gerät bei Lieferung defekt. Warehouse Ware bestellt eine andere gleichen Typs bei NBB neu gekauft eingesetzt läuft. Vielleicht nur Pech gehabt.

A true workhorse for the NAS
I am using previous generation WD red for several years in my three NAS boxes. As for durability, haven’t had a single failure in my 30 drives in last 5 years. So when I got a new NAS server, the obvious choice was WD red. The “plus” version will surely live up to it’s predecessor’s reputation. I already see that the new drives run cooler compared to the previous generation. Looking at the longevity of these drives, they are a good value for money. A word of caution though: don’t buy “bulk” version. They are poorly packed and can be dead on arrival. Buy the retail version which is nicely packed with shock absorbing material.

arbeitet zuverlässig im Dauerbetrieb seit Monaten...
...und ist einigermassen geräuscharm. Die Zugriffe des Schreib/Lesekopfes sind deutlich zu hören, der Motor erfreulicherweise nicht. Das Laufwerk läuft in einer Synology-NAS - und es wurde auch genau geliefert, was im Text steht.

Conforme à mes attentes pour mon Zappiti Pro 4K HDR Audiocom Cinema Edition
En remplacement d'un Seagate Ironwolf trop bruyant dans mon lecteur Zappiti Pro 4K HDR Audiocom Cinema Edition, le WD Red Plus est très silencieux.
Aucun problème de compatibilité avec le lecteur, formater en NTFS via PC sous Windows 10.
Conforme à mes attentes.
Quand à la longévité du disque dur, seul le temps me le dira.

Destiné à un NAS Synology. Mise en œuvre rapide et sans problème ; on va attendre un peu avant de valider complètement le produit (fiabilité...) Un petit bémol pour l'emballage car les disques bien qu'en version boite n'étaient pas du tout calés dans le colis !

Top sehr zufrieden
Der Geräuschpegel ist super leise im Normalbetrieb, wenn größere Daten im RAID betrieb geschrieben werden sind sie lauter aber das ist nicht lange.
Über die Langlebigkeit kann ich noch nichts sagen da ich die Platten erst einen Monat habe. Ansonsten total zufrieden 👍

Partito con le massime aspettative upgradanto un vecchio WD RED che aveva servito per 5 anni senza problemi ed adesso lo SMART prediceva un fault imminente...
Presa versione RETAIL spendendo 30€ in più per essere sicuro dell'imballo con cui viaggiava....

Perfect for NAS use.
I've got mine in a DS120j by Synology and am using it as a remote backup for our main NAS at home.
Detected as soon as the DS120j booted up and performing great.
Nice to have a little offsite peace of mind backing up the most important files with HyperBackup on our main NAS.
