I bought the hard disk a couple of weeks ago. The hard disk came in anti static plastic inside a cardboard box. I expected to be in a sort of "official" Western Digital boxes that you see in best buy for the same product. There weren't any documentation and worst of all there wasn't any SATA cable. I did not have a cable to use and had to order it. So it took much longer than I expected to get the hard disk and install it.

Shipping carton was excellent and the drive was securely sealed within the bubble wrap.Purchased as a second drive and Installed with no problem.Using as a backup drive mainly for photos. Also had to purchase a "rack" and "cable" since this was a second drive and neither was included as extra in my computer.Minor questions about the transfer of information was readily available on the WD support site.Since I knew exactly what drive I wanted/needed, I purchased this drive because of the price after shopping on line as well as the local computer stores.

I ordered this drive because my 500 GB Maxtor completely died on me. I am a music producer so its important for me to have my Computer 100%! Drive came a day earlier than expected!!! Great HD for the price. Using as a Back up Looking to purchase another one very soon.

Hard drives either work or not upon receiving them. After that it is a question of how long they will last. I just received this one. It spun up and worked right away. Too bad my computer is only a SATA system so I'm not able to get the full speed available in this drive.I bought this SATA 3 drive because they are cheaper than the older STAT drives. That often happens with electronics. I also priced DDR2 RAM which my computer takes, wow they are so expensive compared to the newer DDR3 RAM boards.If this drive dies too soon I'll re-post here and change my rating if that is what it deserves.

Великолепно

I needed this drive to use with my ZyXEL as a network drive. Initially i had some difficulty setting up the drive but as it turned out, i needed to plug it in firmly. So far so good I am almost at 50% capacity. Works great.

All you will be getting is the hard drive. There are no cables, instructions, or hardware. If you do not already have the cables and hardware to install the drive, you will need to order them separately. There are ample videos on how to install a SATA hard drive on youtube, so getting information on how to install the drive should not be an issue.

Great storage for the price, I don;t care about teh brand because ALL hard drives go eventually and I keep backups, so the price point was great. Installed in minutes, remapped drive, and done.

I rarely use anything other than Western Digital now. On all my desktops, the WD Blue is my standard drive. Have used it for years without a single issue. Have one drive going on for about 5 years now without a single blip.I use WD Blues for desktop, non heavy cases. WD Blacks for performance machines, and WD RE4s for servers in RAID.

My old Seagate Barracuda 320 GB HD started giving me "failure is imminent" warnings in early Dec. 2012. I cloned it to my 1 TB HD and ordered a new WD Blue 1 TB as a replacement. New 1 TB is failing S.M.A.R.T. tests and giving WD error codes that require "replacement of Drive". This began less than 7 days after installation. I will be returning this HD under Amazon Prime warranty but am out the hours spent setting it up, testing, etc. Online reviews suggest that I'm not alone in having WD Blue HD experience an early failure.

muy bueno el equipo muy util para mi trabajo y pronto comprare mas eqipos para armar computadoras para hacer regalos a mis amigos. me gusta la eficiencia y responsabilidad de todos sus operadores. el wester digital es la mejor marca para mi opinion. saludos

I Bought the 1 TB hard drive, and it has worked perfectly, the transfer speed is really good, it has a good performance (not as good as an ssd)I recomend to use it to storage big files, videos, music and games

Seemed to work ok when it was initially installed, but the iMac eventually slowed down, until disk utility no longer even recognized the drive to exist. Teaches me to pay more attention to negative reviews than positive ones, which often are illegitimate anyway.

Its big, and with the 7200rpm, its quick. Boot time averages around 10-15 seconds. I anticipate it slowing down as I fill it, but that is not an issue for me.

Amazon sold this for $67 when I bought it. I have a few WD drives working in my Drobo. Essentially running day and night since about 3 years with no issues at all. This one got installed in a Mac Pro a few days ago as part of a Raid 0 stripe drive and works great. But just because the cache is quite big (my old ones had 32mb) don't expect it to do better on hard drive tests. You want blazing speed-get yourself a Samsung SSD. But keep in mind that in order to get the most out of any STATA III drive you will need a computer providing a SATA III controller or you will only get half the performance.

It's been roughly half a year since I bought this. It hasn't let me down or anything. That's all I really ask. Always look for pricing options and stability reports before buying, though.

Its a good hard drive, what can I say. Reads and Writes faster than the 4+ year old drives I was using before this. Comes with no cables so make sure you have some before hand like I did.

So, not 5 stars, but then 3 Stars means it's average - you know, sort of what you paid for, and a 5 would be like getting 18k gold at sterling silver prices. This is a good hard drive for the price, has decent transfer rates, an okay 64mb of cache, and installation went smmothly. That equals 4 Stars mainly becasue it did up my Windows Experience Rate 2 points, and I have an extra 250GB of storage now.I've only had it installed a couple of days, so I'll update this later if I have any problems. For now it is a solid 4 Stars.

I look for bang for the buck. This fits the bill , I built a new computer system and this is almost as fast as my veloceraptors in RAID. But this is my home system. Recomend.

I bought this drive to replace one that died on a family member's computer. It been over a month with no problems. It was pretty fast during OS install compare to older 7200 RPM drives. I got it for them for $83 including tax. That was the cheapest could find at the time that wasn't "too good to be true". I know they used to be cheaper so that may only gripe.I would recommend to anyone just shop around for a better deal.If this drive has any problems down the road I'll update this review.
