Великолепно
It needed a jumper to disable the new large data block size since I'm using it in a Windows home server application. It seems the large blocks are for future compatibility. Other than that it's quiet and holds a huge amount of data. It's been in about a month with no problems.

As the title of my review said, this drive stopped working after a month of use. I lost all data, 600GB of them (all my pics, movie....).This is the first problem I've experienced with WD drive. I have been waiting for three weeks already for my replacement drive from WD and the status is still DELAYED. I don't know why this is taking so long for WD to ship one out. If you decide to buy this drive, make sure you have a second backup of your data. This drive seems to be quite unreliable.

Even i selecting it as gift, with no gift-wrap, to receive my purchase in retail box, Amazon send it to me as OEM, using "Amazon Frustation-Free Packaging".The HD is great, five stars definitively. But i'm afraid it will fail soon, because the Amazon needs learn to package electronic devices, include labels warning :Beware, electronic device, please handle with care.Brasilian portuguese : Cuidado, dispositivo eletronico, por favor manuseie com cuidado.Spanish : Cuidado, dispositivos electr?nicos, por favor, manejar con cuidado.

Order placed on february 10, 2010. Order came from Lexington KY US. Faulty Packaging allowing had drive to hit bottom of box, no bubble rap, no protective padding, dead upon arrival. Published photos on customer images. I know this is an OEM drive so it doesn't have a retail box of its own but the amazon frustration-free packaging does not protect the hard drive from any impact.

I have 12 WD OEM drives acquired over the last 6 months for my MacPro . I love them. I have Western Digital drives in each of the 4 hard drive bays. For the boot drive I use the Black for maximum performance (7200RPM) while the others are Green Drives with variable speed (5400-7200RPM) for efficient power use. They run cool and are very quiet. A very small downside is they take a little extra time to "spin up".For "general" and "off-site" back ups I use the OEM drives and NewerTech quad-interface SATA HDD dock. I store these drives in a static-proof box by Wiebetech (10-pack for $55.00), which provides protection for the exposed circuits and connectors.I highly recommend these drives! Only one came DOA and it was replaced by Amazon within a week. I've been buying each time there's a dip in price. (279.00, 229.00, 219.00 and 209.00)

I used this hard drive as an external HD DVR hard drive vs the 1 TB version I had used previously. Everything worked as hoped and the procedure can be found on my blog linked from this review. Note this HD does have some jumper settings, but did not come with the actual jumpers to use. Fortunately, they were not required for my application.

It is a very roomy, quite drive. I wanted the low power consumption. I have not measured how much power it uses, but I trust them. It stays pretty cool when doing a major defrag or other long and busy jobs. It is great.

Higher density platters than today's competition allows fewer platters and cooler running. Bought four, no DOAs. Using in an Intel SS4200 box running Windows Home Server. All good.

Purchased two drives and they both failed within 90 days (in two different computers). The good news is that the smart drive feature warned of the failure. Got an RMA and returned to WD for replacement...replacement was authorized.... and a month later WD continues to report that the drives are "out of stock". They have plenty to sell to Amazon, but none for warranty replacement.

Should probably do a video review for this, since the packaging has to be seen to be believed. Drives are working fine so far (I bought 2), but they arrived as two small boxes in a very large shipping box, with very little protection. Inside each of the small boxes was the drive, wrapped in a bubble wrap bag with a couple of those Amazon-y air-filled plastic bags as protection. Not nearly enough to keep them from jostling around during transit. I know these are OEM/Bulk/Bare or whatever you want to call them, but I've never received a drive that wasn't hermetically wrapped in foam for shipment. Very good thing that Amazon has a good return policy.

Not a great ratio.We bought 3 of these WD 2 TB drives, 1 crashed same day it arrived. Bought 3 more and 1 failed to initialize.If you are using these I would advise either buying extra or going with another brand as they seem fairly unreliable.

I can't believe how Amazon packaged this hard drive. It arrived surrounded in a thin layer of bubble wrap, placed in a slightly larger box. I'm installing it in my Mac Pro for now, and will come back to this review if it fails in the near future.

These drives are great for the storage and performance they have. You can't find anything denser in terms of storage!But...I think they still have to work out some kinks. I bought 4 in July and have had two fail already. I'm getting replacements and hope they will not fail similar to these. Luckily I bought a Drobo so I didn't loose data.

Western Digital's 2TB drive is great but don't buy it from amazon. I'm on my second return because they keep trying to sneak in some cheapo 1TB drive instead of my order. Newegg never messes up like this. Double check your drive before you unwrap it or else.

Yup it's an OEM drive and it ships in a cardboard box as a bare drive held in a folded corrugated carrier. It worked fine, but the box was not even sealed. Used this in a HP EX485 Media Smart server. No issues with noise

I purchased four of these 2 Terabyte drives for my Drobo back up. They perform flawlessly. I considered less expensive drives but did not want to trust my backup to something that might not be as reliable as WD. Do they make a difference. My experience says they do.

Bought this for an 8 core Mac Pro, primarily for temporary storage and backup of video that had come off of P2 cards.I was surprised at the performance of this drive, since it's a green drive, but the benchmark numbers I got back in AJA System test were nearly the same as my other 32mb Caviar Black 1tb drives!It was something like 97MB/s read and 95MB/s write for this new 2TB monster, compared to the 100MB/s read and write for the high performance caviar blacks I have.

For you Drobo fans this drive will not fail you. I waited until I could purchase four (4) of them collectively and plugged them into my #1 Drobo off my DroboShare. Quiet and cool, these drives came to life immediately and Drobo formatted them quickly. It should be noted, for us Drobo addicts, which out of 8TB you have 2.23GB reserved for overhead, 1.83TB for protection and 5.44TB available for data on a single volume. I have been migrating my external storage data without issues and am working on getting my 2nd Drobo populated.
