This a nice looking monitor with a great looking screen. Most of the competition of this size cost much more than I paid. The only downside that I have observed is that the built in speakers are pretty worthless. We have separate speakers and I would suggest anyone interested in this monitor do the same.

This is a wonderful/affordable option for anyone turned-off by Apple's absurd pricing on their LED displays. I definitely recommend this for anyone in the market for a new LED. As others have mentioned, the speakers are no good; but I'm not deducting stars for that -- I bought a monitor not speakers!

I have owned ViewSonic for many years & NEVER a problem. Perfect all around. My next monitor will be a ViewSonic. The monitors never go out as I just want to update my monitor size. I have owned my current 19" monitor for about 6 years.

I ordered this because I've had good experiences with Viewsonic products in the past and was attracted by the LED/"green" aspect. I've had no problems with is over the past 7 months and, unlike some flat panels I've used, the refresh rate is a good match for my changing vision. The colors are consistent even in bright light environments and the power consumption is practically nil compared to the CRT I replaced.

What a fantastic display! It is hard to find a nice monitor with a height adjustable stand for a decent price. I was long overdue for an upgrade and was previously using a 19" Gateway LCD from 2000. Although the product description does not say it, it is HDCP compatible. My new computer has a Blu-Ray drive that would not play movies using my old monitor. The movies I tried after receiving this monitor look awesome. Also, I am happy with the bezel. It is not shiny and fat like some of the monitors out there. Best of all cables (VGA and DVI) are included.

We are in no position to write an actual review of the product, since the monitor arrived broken. It did not turn on. We tried different electric plugs in the house, changed the monitor's power cord with one of the power cords from our computers, we called the ViewSonic customer service that gave us a tip on "power rebooting" (weird: with the monitor UN-plugged, push the "on" button for 30 sec., then plug the monitor back in the electric socket and... it still didn't turn on). We bought it on a Monday, received it on Wednesday (II-day delivery through Amazon Prime), returned it on Thursday. Very sad.Note: PACKAGING WAS AWFUL! As soon as we opened the box (ZERO TRAVEL PROTECTION: just the monitor box the way you would get it from store's shelf), we immediately got that vague unpleasant impression of dealing with one of those items that had already passed through other customers' hands before being "refreshed" and passed on to us. We are very angry. Terrible shopping experience.

This is a fantastic monitor for the money. It is bright and crisp, contrast is good and the black density is also right on. The speakers make it sound like you're watching a video in a corrugated drain pipe, which is typical for monitors with built in sound. I had no intentions of the speakers being used, or my rating would have to be lower- but, based on picture quality, I love the monitor.

Love the monitor, it was easy to install on my PC, the picture qualitiy is great. It really helps to have a large viewing area for people with older eyes. Love it.

This is a great monitor. The colors and clarity are spectacular. It is not quite a full 24" screen and so you need to be careful when purchasing screen savers or filters as they don't fit perfectly. Nice price through Amazon.com. Delivery with Amazon prime got it to my front door in 2 days.

I saw this monitor on Amazon and immediately decided to buy at least one. A dear friend had a small monitor and was suffering eye stress. I placed the order just before Xmas and even with the rush, it arrived on 12/27. My friend had her daughter set it up. I am the hero. Viewsonic makes excellent monitors. This price is unbeatable. Soon now I am going to buy one and replace my 20" Samsung. In my case the additional size, while not seeming like much has to be seen, next to the item now owned.Highly recoommend. Note: My friend loves this monitor. She is delighted. I have just ordered one for myself now.

I upgraded from a 20" HP monitor. I do a lot of gaming and this monitor works great! I actually had to push it back towards the wall because the size took a little getting used to. Action games are unreal. I can see details I never have before. You can't go wrong with this monitor!

Purchased this on behalf of a colleague. She was fully satisfied with the performance of this monitor, until it stopped working, about 45 days after she installed it. She tested it on various computers, and using both the digital and analog inputs. She confirmed that the monitor had become inoperative: no image whatsoever. Viewsonic, she learned, requires the customer to pay for shipping to it to obtain warranty service. (Viewsonic, however, will bear the return shipping cost.) There are very few, if any, service centers to which the monitor can be transported in person by the user, and none local to my friend.

When I need to replace office or home equipment fast I go straigt to Amazon.com. Over the years I've purchased many items. Recently I bought a new 24" wide screen monitor and as always I got a great deal and a great monitor. Title says it all. Monitor flashed blue power light after unboxing & setup, took longer to setup than it lasted. Viewsonic support was unable to replace as they have no stock of this model. Returned to Amazon for a full refund. Will not buy Viewsonic again.

I bought two of these for my coworkers. No complaints from them. The screen is crisp and the sound quality is fine for the office atmosphere. I am sure for this price I will be instructed to buy additional monitors for others in the office.

I wanted a 24 inch monitor to use as my second monitor when I work from home (or watch the occasional Netflix movie). This monitor does exactly what I need at a pretty good price point.

I use the monitor as a second screen and primarily for CAD desgign, web browsing, and general computer use (no movies). It has been great for those uses. The monitor size is ideal for having 2 windows open on it (snapped to each side of the screen). I am buying another one for a 3rd monitor.

No HDMI input.Enough said.Sure maybe I should have looked more into the specs of the monitor, but 1080p resolution pretty much made me think it had HDMI. I mean who uses DVI, and VGA is old.And if you do have a DVI cable on hand or are planning on buy an adapter for one, dont expect to use any type of speakers with this monitor other than the crap ones built in. It lacks the most simple thing of all electronics. A standard 3.5 jack for headphones or other desktop speakers.Thoroughly, and completely, the cheapest piece of crap I have ever bought. Adds nothing to any set up, and maybe appeals to a extremely small niche of people (people who use DVI over HDMI and people who don't care about any amount of quality sound).If you are geting this to hook-up to a PS3 or Xbox: UselessIf you are getting this to hook up to a laptop (one with VGA): It will work, but have fun with the built in speakers.

Great monitor, buy it for the monitor quality and price, don't buy because it has built in speakers, quality of sound isn't very good, but monitor is awesome and price is right.

I am visually "challenged" as they say. I really needed a bigger screen so I could increase type sizes and make many tasks easier. This screen is just fine, does what I needed done and did not require any special mumbo jumbo to get it installed and running. i'm not a comuputer idiot but I am far from a true geek. Just hooked it all up and it worked. Not too bad!

The title says it all. The price is great, and the image quality was decent when not displaying solid colors. I do use a KVM, but the monitor this replaced, an old Dell 2005FPW, does not exhibit the same wavy image symptoms when displaying solid colors, so it's pretty clear the VA2431WM is the problem.

I'm very happy with the 2 monitors I purchased. Beautiful color, no screen tearing even during a lot of side-scrolling action.One area of concern - on a black / very dark background, there can be a bit of a "halo" around the outer edges of the screen. Almost like there's some back light "bleed-through". I only notice when I really look for it, but certainly there on both monitors I purchased.Also, no dead pixels. Yay!

I have had a larger screen at my office for a long time and it was becoming an issue for me when I was working at home. I needed to have something that was similar to my work environment. This monitor seemed to fit the bill. Problem is that the PC and/or the monitor seems to have issues connecting through my KVM. When directly connected to the PC there are no issues. When connected through the KVM, the PC either uses the wrong driver or the monitor reports that the PC image is 'out of range'. So beware if you are running a Windows 7 OS and using a KVM, this monitor may not be the best choice for you. I have yet to find the solution that fixes the problem permanently.
