Good for the picture, and has the size I wanted. I quickly became used to having more room to view multiple documents! However, the speakers are terrible. Very poor sound, not enough volume...if you view videos or even like to listen to music I suggest you look elsewhere.

The monitor is of excellent quality, but the speakers even at highest volume are weak. I'll need to add separate speakers to achieve the volume I need.

Have four monitors on my vertical stand. This one puts the others to shame. It's brighter, sharper, and runs about 10-15 degrees cooler.

We purchased this monitor last year and it has worked great ever since. The sound isn't great but I don't care because I use separate speakers.

** Love at First Sight **I fell in love with this monitor the minute I opened the box. Sleek lines, thin profile, extemely adjustable base, and sexy cobalt power light; yes I'm nerd lol It got even better when I connected it to my PC. The colors are so crisp. Pixels are tight. This Viewsonic 24" is a very pleasant desktop monitor.** My Use Cases **I'm using the 24" primarily for school and photo editing. It's great for school work. Two documents are easily used at once. For example, I can have a web browser open on one side and Word on the other. For photo editing I mainly work with Corel PaintShop Pro X4. This monitor makes that software a joy to use. Fully maximized there's plenty of real estate for all palettes and the file organizer. Photo before-and-after effects applications can be adjusted and compared side-by-side at large sizes.** 24" vs 27" **For those considering screen size, I'll give you my first-hand experience. I was initially torn between getting this monitor or the larger, and newer, Viewsonic VG2732M-LED 27-Inch (Black). You'll notice from my profile that I wound up buying them both. I am not nearly as impressed with the 27". It's not a bad monitor, but it's too large for desktop use, for my tastes. The pixels seem large and noticeable when viewed up close. The image from the 24" is more appealing. I was very suprised to find myself preferring the 24". If you're unsure of size, I recommend you see them both in person. The 27" might be more fun if used primarily to watch movies. I've posted a more in depth review of the 27" on that product's page.

Relatively inexpensive monitor that looks great and is easy to use. It is used in an educational setting and is holding up very well.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!!!! Right out of the box the monitor did not work!!!!! I called customer support for VIEWSONIC and they told me to "oh it doesn't work, just send it back"... what!!! So, now I have to pay shipping to send it back to amazon. Not in a million years will I buy anything from viewsonic again. you should not either!!!!!

What an awesome Monitor This monitor is lightweight for it's size the plastic is a bit flimsy looking but don't let that fool you, the buttons at the bottom of the do mean that you can't easily stand it on a flat surface without the stand, a small drawback if you are trying to create an array of monitors. The color is excellent as is the contrast the viewing angle is fine and as expected. The only reason for I have for not giving is 5 Stars is the speaker quality is sub-par the sound generated is tinny at best I use external speaker so it is not an issue but if you are looking for a great VGA monitor it is the best for the price.

This monitor is very lightweight. It uses very little power and the picture is good. I've had to transport a few times and doesn't seem overly delicate. I bought it about 2 months ago and am happy with the purchase so far.

Works well and was super easy to set up. One thing I noticed is that if viewed off center, the image degrades, but not to a point of being unreadable. Other than that, it seems to be worth the money.

The first one arrived - great picture, nice resolution. Was in Photoshop touching up a photo - and realized I was trying to erase dead pixels - three of them. All bright blue. So I contacted Amazon and they shipped a replacement (Viewsonic has a zero dead pixels policy, but it's only 30 days.) The replacement arrived. Would not power on - DOA. So I returned that one and am using the original monitor, waiting for the third one.Don't know what happened to Viewsonic QC, but dead pixels and DOA should not be normal. At least the problems happened within the Amazon return window. If the third one has problems, I'll get another make.

Ditto all the laudatory things the other reviewers have said. It's a great, economical monitor.I would have ordered a second ViewSonic VX2433wm 24-inch WideScreen LCD Monitor which I have been very happy with, but it is no longer available. So I ordered its closest twin, this model.The one way that the VX2433wm is superior to the VA2431wm is the bezel --- it is perfectly flat on the VX2433wm, but curved on the VA2431wm, which causes it to reflect the lights in the room making for glaring bars on the bezel. The flat bezel will do this only if the light is just the right spot in the room. The antidote to this is to put some matte black tape along the top edge, which will look gauche of course, but keep stray lights out of the picture. The VX2433wm also has an HDMI plug, which is useful for doubling it as a DVD display. Surprisingly, when I used the native HDMI plug of the new Mac Mini with the VX2433wm, it gave an inferior dithered view. So, using the DVI adaptor to hook to the display is superior. Thus, the VA2431wm loses nothing in not having the HDMI input when used with a Mac Mini.I got this monitor after trying a HP 2311x 23-Inch LED Monitor which made my eyes tire quickly, despite all my tweaking the settings (including full brightness to prevent flickering). So, if you are a refuge from LED technology, I can highly recommend the ViewSonic VA2431WM 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor. Get 'em while you still can!

I purchased this monitor for my mom & dad (they are in there 70's). They had no problem hooking up the monitor as I talked them trough it. They did say that no documentation came with it but it had a cd. They do not have internet so I had to register it for them (no mail in card). However, there may have been documentation that was tucked in the packaging somewhere and they just could not find it. They are very pleased and both mom & dad are playing games on their new BIG monitor. I bought this monitor because of the Viewsonic name and their 3 year warranty. I shopped around and Amazon had the best price.

This ViewSonic monitor replaced a similar 20 inch model. What a great improvement! It is bright, clear, and crisp. I highly recommend this product for both it's quality and price.

I was debating between this monitor and another that was (at the time) $50 cheaper. The specs were pretty much equal, but this one incorporated built in speakers. So - knowing I would need new speakers in the near future (and that I wanted to reduce my excessive cords/cables issue) - I let that be my tiebreaker. Sadly - the speakers aren't even close to being worth $50. They are tinny and cheap sounding. If you are old enough to remember... they sound like an old handheld AM transistor radio. I expected that technology had improved enough that the speakers would be worth the extra money. NOT!Otherwise - I'm fairly happy with the product. It's a solid monitor with nice, crisp color and picture clarity. I suspect however, that I would have been equally as happy with the one that was $50 cheaper. Then I could have put the money I saved into a decent separate speaker system.I would have gone 4 stars except that I'm having some very intermittent issues with screen flickering. I anticipate being able to download something to alleviate the problem, but I shouldn't have to do things like that. Now days things should really be plug and play...

I am very happy with the performance and colors. I dock my laptop to the monitor so if you are using the weak video card of a laptop and you try to push the resolution up there you notice the lag, but that is not a fault of the monitor.
