Absolutely love this washer. Even though I opted for standard free delivery still received in within 4 days of ordering. Excellent service from Amazon as usual.
I've already tested the vac and the washer on the hall way and am really impressed with the results. As others have said it does drink the water rather a lot but it also pulls out a lot of dirt.
Excellent buy.

This is my third one,the second was not so good as it appeared it had been returned to the store and was missing some parts.I like Vax and will always continue to recommend it to friends and relatives.

Was waiting on this item for nearly a month for some strange reason.Probably the Christmas rush etc..Do not usually encounter such a long wait
when purchasing items from Amazon.However item was as described and will be using it for the first time when spring cleaning starts in a couple of weeks.

This replacement hose fit perfectly our Vax. It is as long and as bendy as the original. The only thing I would change is the end. The original hose had a slanted end which was made getting small bits easier.

This is replacement for one bought in the 1980s, whose motor finally retired itself. The replacement seems just the same, good as ever, and the carpet wash system seems to have been improved, though it was always good. One negative point, probably because the motor is more powerful, is that the motor noise is way beyond the previous. I use ear defenders when hoovering, not ideal, and my hearing is tested as normal, but otherwise am excellent machine............. perhaps they should provide a pair of defenders in the box, or have a decibel reading for all hoovers!

Really can't fault this, not as tricky to put together as I thought, you will need to buy cleaning solution as well, the bottle it comes with is enough to fill 1 & 1/2 tanks, I used that in the first hour.
Have used on upholstery and carpet, I did the carpet twice, and was amazed by how much goo there was in the water both times.
Our sofa had acquired a shine on the arms, now looks brand new, which is an accomplishment in a house with 4 children!
Pros- ease of use, does the job VERY well.
Cons- goes through 4 litres of water quicker than you'd think, a bit on the loud side.

Used once good clean on white carpet. . Be careful with the clear tube connection very poor snapped off while in middle of cleaning. 're ordered part unable to finish till arrives. Would have given 5stars

Excellent machine with many good design features. The last one I had, similar model, lasted 20 years. So much better value than other makes. Quite noisy, but thats a consequence of the power I think.

I have had two of these machines before, the Vax 6131 and an earlier model, it is one of the few machines which copes with the various tasks our family throws at it! On average each machine lasts 5-10 years, they have had more of a pasting since my son's now use them too-one took it to mop up paint!! Surprisingly it still worked, what made me have to get another was the fact he dropped something heavy on the control panel on the top and I ended up with exposed wires, unfortunately it wasn't a part I could just order and replace. Very efficient, both for cleaning and vacuuming, easy to use, has coped with mud, sand, substrate (we keep snakes and gekco's), tissues left in the wash. I like the longer cord, useful for going round the house, without having to keep changing plugs,

It broke down after the second time I used the carpet washing setting.. but Vax replaced it fuzz free. And now two years later the new one I received still works fine.

Excellent, does what it says, nice long power cord and those, quick and easy to change from wet to dry and cleans really well, bargain for the price and would highly recommend, excellent service from Amazon too.

This was great value as I had seen it in John lewis at twice the price. The suction is strong so when you use it as a wet cleaner it takes up a lot of the moisture so the things dry quickly. It's not too heavy either. I had a Harvey vacuum cleaner and it was too heavy.

I brought this to wash carpet which it does extremely well, just as good as the ones you can hirer, and handy to have on hand, easy to set up and use, leaves carpets only slightly damp, but nice and clean, super price.

Very happy with this purchase, and also in time before the EU power restrictions kicked in. A brilliant piece of kit, supplied with very useful tool accessories as well, a bargain at the price, and it works very well too.

Don't bother with normal carpet shampoo buy a commercial degreeser i used D2 but flash worked as well.

a cumbersome and very noisy vacuum cleaner that isn't half as good as a Henry Hoover - but I wanted it for shampooing the carpets & the price was right. Excellent for shampooing carpets - far better than those ones you rent for the day.
