After reading some good reviews I purchased this device.Checked wifi range with a netgear router and they both had some range.Installed it in a property and spent hours configuring it since I configured it at home first, it will not adopt the new AP in new environment, adoption keep failing.Finally adoption worked after I uninstalled and re installed the management software. It worked for a while, after a few hours I tried to ping it using management software and no response.Did a hard reset and it started working again. The only way to access this AP is though Unifi controller, tired my best to access via web browser but did not work.Called Tek Support and left two messages no one called back.Sent an email and waited 12 hours no reply from them. Finally decided to return it back. Cisco, Meraki, Proxim and Dlink are expensive but far more better than this.

I've used these for a while but today was the big test. I had 100 users coming in for a conference, each user had a iPad or laptop. I was really nervous to see if this access point could handle 100+ users. We'll the conference started at 8:30AM this morning and its now going on 11:00AM. I have consistently had over 80+ users on and everyone is flying. Im EXTREMELY impressed with this access point. I have it hooked to a Netgear 1750 wireless router but i have the Netgears wireless turned off. Im basically just using the Netgear for DHCP and DNS. Our cable connection is a 80\5 connection which is just the high end business class cable connection. So far so good!

Just because it says Enterprise doesn't mean it won't be appropriate for the home. Once configured, the range, even through walls and floors, on this AP is incredible. I had Trendnet and Netgear APs before. The AP is on the main floor in the office and the problem areas upstairs bedroom on the opposite side. Signal issues always were a problem. Not anymore. The laptops in those bedrooms now get 4 out 5 bars and great bandwidth. I even get decent signal at my next door neighbors house. I absolutely love this product. The management software is icing on the cake. You can upload the floor plan of the house and see the reach of the AP. In addition, you can monitor what devices are connecting, how much data/bandwith used. I am so impressed with this product, I will be writing a proposal to implement it at work.

I liked it for its cieling mount, POE, and compact size. Range was okay. Took me long time to configure the first one to work with the current WIFI, but at the second was simple and quick. Manual was not as clear as it should be I had to google few thing I needed during first setup.Drawback: Does not includ Ethernet drop cable to be used from the POE to the AP

This unit is supposedly a simple product to set up, but I have tried for two weeks, off and on, to get it configured and transmitting. I have used four different computers, and none of them have been successful in setting up the system.My son, who is an IT manager, worked on his computer for four hours and was unsuccessful in configuring and adopting this access point. It's a lemon!

I plugged it in and 5 minutes later it was telling me more than I would ever need to know.The looks of the hardware are excellent. The software is excellent. Comes with all the supplies to install.It can act as multiple access points with different passwords and that is great.I would recommend it to everyone and I am picky.2 minor things.1) the Ethernet cable plugs in too hard. It's poorly placed by the designer. Binds up with mounting.2) the manual says it is very high power. I didn't see it as any stronger than the D-Link it replaces.But I can add a bigger antenna if it bugs me too much.It works way better and more consistent. It has never gone down on me in 2 months. The D-Link went down once a week.

This little Frisbee works amazing, the POE (power over Ethernet) works great and makes installation a breeze. Used in a warehouse/office setting and this little guy covers all the way to the back of the warehouse (about 250 feet) and registers full bars on the computer in the back. Couldn't be happier, especially for the price. Also, easy setup for the computers on wi-fi to see our wired network and function like they are local wired computers

Ubiquiti's products are often pretty good choices in the wireless communications world. I got this product, it was easy to set up using their Unifi (AP Control) Server and it is working perfectly. I am happy with it since it is a serious enterprise-level wi-fi solution, so it is pretty powerful and stable.

After setup, this works great. Strongest wifi signal I've had in this house. You should know that the setup for this isn't like typical WAPs, in that you need to install and run special management software. However, this management software is free and available on Linux, OSX, and Windows.When I got the manual, I was fearful that the WAP wouldn't work without the management software driving it, but it works just fine on its own and does not require other enterprise architecture.I did want to note one oddity: My PoE router can't drive this thing. I can only get the WAP to work if I use the included PoE injector. At this point, I don't know if that's a limitation of the UniFi, or my PoE router.

This works like a charm - we installed it upstairs where we were getting less than ideal signals from our router/switch. The entire upstairs and now around the house we have 100% signal strength. Very easy to set up, and once set up doesn't need to be managed unless you have "guest" access turned on which we won't use.

This product so far is great! Setup was a breeze. Just like joining a new AP to an enterprise wireless environment using LWAPP. Coverage map was easy to use. Google Earth'd my house, snapped a screenshot, saved as jpeg. I measured a reference line using google earth's distance measuring tool and used that length to tell the UniFi controller how long that same line is. Now I have great scale for my coverage map.I'm planning on adding two more to my home infrastructure for ultimate coverage.Would be great if it integrated other APs in monitor mode to do something akin to AirDefense or Air Magnet for wireless IDS.... Hint hint ubiquity... ;-)

Very easy to set up. I was up and running in 15 minutes. The network cable was already there, I just needed to replace old Access Point. The POE made power at the Access Point not needed, I just sent it thru from the switch. Much better than the old re-purposed router it replaced. Fantastic product, Fantastic range. I would recommend to anyone. And I am not an IT person, Self educated over the internet. If I can do it, anyone can.

For the money you simply cannot go wrong. I used it to boost my Verizon FiOS wireless router signal. I wrote up a DIY on my website that shows the incredible signal strength when compared to the stock FiOS router. You simply cannot go wrong for the price.Read the DIY here...[...]

I don't normally review products but I had to write one for this WiFi AP. I have used APs from D-Link, TrendNet and ZyXel and this baby from Ubiquiti is by far the best I've encountered. The Trendnet and ZyXel wouldn't even reach a laptop on the other side of a wooden stud/sheetrock wall 40 feet away. I mounted the flying saucer looking Ubiquiti device on the ceiling of the second floor, the highest point in the house other than the attic. I tested the coverage by walking around the house with my iPad and I couldn't believe the result I got. We have a 5000 sq ft wood frame house and coverage was full signal 3-bar in every corner of every floor including the full basement. I haven't tested it outside but my guess there's substantial coverage around the house too. The 27 dBm really makes a difference - I was most impressed with this device. Don't hesitate on this one - go for it, you will be very happy.

Look elegant and chick. Look great on my house wall. Signal not as strong as the outdoor models even when spec sheets say they both has the same radio power.Be aware this is JUST an Access Point. This unit does not has a DHCP server, NAT configuration, access list control an a lot of stuff Apple Wifi AP does.2013-01-08Just find out that sometimes it drops the connection on devices or at least is what looks like specially on heavy traffic.Be aware it does not uses standard PoE but its own injector. This is odd because we can't power it up form our existent PoE switch. Will keep posting more info as it develops.

If your looking for a simple way to increase your wireless range in your home or business this is a fantastic product. I have a small house but its three stories and my cable router is in the basement. When anyone was upstairs the wireless was never acceptable. I purchased this to test, amazingly I had this installed an running in less than 5 minutes and I am no IT person. There was a software update, I was a bit scared to update because I have had issues with routers coming back on line in the past. But this was a breeze, not problems at all, running and working great. Fantastic, good looking product that works well out of the box, easy to setup and the price was amazing.

I bought one of these units for my home and I think that I had it installed on my ceiling in about an hour and fully connected!!! I love this access point and how easy it is to hook up. The signal is great and unit is very responsive to the software. If I decide to add more wifi to my house this is the only one that I will even think about. Love it!!

The vendor had a quick mail out time. I rated this because it has beat any other wireless product that we have used to penetrate through cender block walls.

I put this together myself very easily and it covers myself so well. No dead spots. No headaches trying to adjust antennas. One login for all the Access Points throughout the house. So amazing. So happy with this product.

This is a great device if you want to connect it to a wired router and use it as a sole access point in your house. However, if you want to use it as a wireless repeater, you can only connect it to another similar devices. You would need to purchase another UNIFI device that will be connected to a wired router.

These are great and a fraction of the price of big name wireless access points. The software is pretty decent, and needed for some functions (guest gateway) but for almost every standard function, they can run stand alone.

I have a large ement walled house and we have struggled to get great wireless coverage in all arears inside and out. Within 20 minutes of opening the boxes I had a multi-node network up and running. With 3 units distributed around the house we now have coverage at all locations and it extends well beyond the walls of the house.

I use Uverse for my Interenet and cable TV. I needed to improve the wireless signal in my garage apartment, where I have a Uverse settop box. Using two ethernet cables (not included), I connectd the UniFi AP to the enthernet port on the back of the Uverse settop box and to the Power Over Ethernet adapter. Once I ran the UniFi configuration program (from a computer already on the network), setup a name for the AP, and set a security code, it was up and working! Five bars of signal where there used to be two.The only challenge I had was that the configuration program would not run on my main Win7 64bit computer. This appears to be a known issue. However, the program ran just fine on my Vista laptop.
