Pros:
Grips on bottom so it doesn't side around.
USB cable can be attached so you don't lose it.
Looks durable.
Cons:
The little piece that holds the USB cable can come apart from the hard drive pretty easily since it is only held by the silicon's friction.
The plastic looks like it's good quality, but if I press on the top face, I can see that it sinks in just a little. Maybe it is not thick enough. It feels like if this gets crushed under some things or tossed around too much in a backpack, it might get cracked or damaged on the inside due to impact. So it is pretty durable, but do be careful with it.

This protected portable hard is for you. Fun colors are an extra bonus. Does it’s job of being hardy and protected.
Improvements:?
1) Could be faster .
2) With so many connector types check the model you are getting to make sure it matches your current tech. But also think about your past and potential tech. Make sure that you are buying the right hard drive package to connect you with whatever tech you have with whatever you are backing up. I know it sounds obvious ... Like the headline says, I have had issues with files copied over to this drive not being there once plugged into another machine. It seems like the advertised capacity is there (well, the NOMINAL advertised capacity... ). That said, I can't leave anything higher than a 1 star review, as the most critical function of this item is missing/faulty, making it not much more than a paperweight. Unfortunately, as seldom as I use an external drive, I didn't discover this until after the 30 day return window. I'm hoping the seller sees this and will possibly help with a replacement or refund.

I returned this hard drive as it would not connect to my new MacBook Pro at all. Seemed to be dead. I ordered a Seagate drive as a replacement and had no issues.

When I plugged it into my Mac computer it stated that it contained a file that would damage my computer. I have not been able to use it. I deleted that file and now my computer does not recognize that it’s plugged in.

I used to use Seagate external hardrives in the past but they would give out after only a year and most of them required you to plug in to the wall as well which makes you less mobile. However this little "Silicone Power" beauty has been going strong for 2 1/2 years with no signs of wearing out! I live with a couple rowdy dogs so sometimes it gets knocked to the ground or unexpectedly unplugged. It bounces back every time. For a photographer with a lot of RAW files, this is a dream come true!!

The drive works fine.
But the cable is so short that I can't even connect the drive to my desktop PC and lay it flat on the desk or on top of the PC!
(And the rubberized slot on the drive that you're supposed to use to store the cable when it's disconnected -- doesn't really work.)

Appears to be a good product, as described.
It is an old MBR model, but it was actually better as it connects to old devices too.
On the down side the connector is a symmetric male USB, which is not standard with external drives. It is also quite short which is very inconvenient when connecting to desktop computers.

I was excited when this came, worked really well from mid February until the beginning of June. Then it crashed and I lost everything. Was working one day, and then not working the next.

Arrived on time. Packaged good. I like the overall look and the 2TB is great! My only concern is the plug that wraps around the drive for easy access...the little rubber holders keep falling off and I keep dropping the cord. My remedy...I put it in a ziploc bag so I don't lose the wire! I am very pleased with this product.

Pros: solid outer design (even though I haven't done any real drop tests), quick set up on windows and linux, very convenient cable (can be replaced with aftermarket types).
Cons: The cable doesnt fit well into the recess on the outer case and the hooks used to hold it in place are very poorly made. Cable can easily fall off whilst carrying in your bag or luggage

The reason I ordered this is I’ve had the 1TB version for a few years. You can store on this product, but does not let you work on saved files, they’ll work for a few seconds then freeze up. Even tried the same files on other hard drives and they worked fine. Due to my job and not being home I didn’t even get this product in my hands till after the Amazon return time frame had passed. Then trying to return it through the company is a joke at best. Definitely would not recommend.

Within a month of purchasing this hard drive, I've been getting I/O errors daily that make my data inaccessible. Fortunately, unplugging the USB and reconnecting fixes the issue, but it's really annoying and I'm afraid that solution will eventually stop working.
I've tried reformating the drive and they persist. Waste of money. Just spend the extra $$ and get a quality drive.

Do not buy this product. I bought this product in May -- after 2 months the drive started clicking and dropping from view -- I sent it back -- they ran their tests -- said nothing was wrong and they sent it back to me --- I get it back - it works for one day -- same clicking noise -- same drop from visibility --- I send it back -- same story -- nothing wrong according to the tests they send it back -- I'm going to smash it with a hammer because they just won't hear me -- Lesson learned on buying this cheap-ass garbage --- save your money this is garbage!!!

I got it for my son. PlayStation 4 is what he used it for. There was not much room for his games. So instead of upgrading the hard drive which was too much of a hassle and more expensive. I came across this one and on sale, I couldn't resist. And it turned out to be very well worth the purchase. My son is super happy! I also liked the anti-shock resistance because it was dropped right after opening it. It works fine. We've been using it for almost a month. Still working great. There's plenty of room for all his games and then some.

I had a piece break, contacted the company and never heard back from them... To me it was a simple fix to replace a piece. But apparently it's not even worth their time responding to my inquiry of getting a new on.
Other than that, the product works. The way the cord is house on the HD itself is kind odd and falls out alot.

Love this product, it is as advertised. Easy to use, just connect to your computer and it's ready to go. Durable, solid casing. Beautiful color. Well made. Well worth the price. I have not complaints with this product. Additionally, it's light weight. I have never had to call tech support so I cannot speak to that.

I'm using this a PS4 hard drive. No problems for the few months I've had it. I do power off the Playstation instead of putting it in sleep mode. Otherwise there'd be at least a trickle of power going to the drive and I don't want to possibly cause overheating or excess wear.

I purchased two of these SP external hard drives. One was used to make an image of my new laptop and the other was used to create a backup of my C drive. This is a small investment in the event I need to rebuild my hard drive because of a virus or malware. A great insurance in case of a problem.

Got this delivered yesterday - plugged it in and my xbox one recognized it instantly and was able to install and set up as a backup source of storage. Can't wait to actually be able to have all my games installed and not have to worry about deleting and reinstalling games to make space
Also opted for the 2 year data backup plan - just incase things crash and I lose games downloaded on the storage block

It works great. I've had it for over a year now with zero problems after 55K pictures and at least 200 HD & 4K videos. I back it up regularly with two larger drives and the data transfer rate is good but not unusually fast. It is well protected with rubber shock absorption on the edges and easy to throw in my computer bag and just works every time I plug it into my laptop.

I use this for my ps4. Just plugged it in, my ps4 asked if I wanted to format it, I clicked yes and it was done, couldn’t have been easier to use. I haven’t dropped it, but it has a rubberized coating all over and feels very durable. Comes with the usb cord to plug it in which clips around and to the drive for portability. Price is fair and reasonable considering the size and other brands pricing.

I used all different brand name external hard drive, I am so glad I found this product.
This is my third one from Silicon power(2 for entertainment, 1 for work), and this is the most reliable and non-breakable drive ever! I'd like to buy bigger capacity later for sure. Thank you for making such a great product!!!
Just one down thing is not lightning fast but it's okay-fast to read files.

The last external hard drive I had slid off my lap onto the hardwood floor and that was all it took. It was toast. This one. I haven’t had a serious drop yet. But feels well built and am not so worried about losing all my data. Is fast and have had no problems.

Worked great with my ps4 for about 8 months until it fell off the table and onto my foot. Completely failed and I lost all my games that were installed. Definitely not “shockproof”, what a joke.

Its not large and bulky like other external hard drives with this storage capacity. There is no real set up; just plug and play. I liked that it came with a smaller USB A to USB A cable to use to connect the device to your computer.

It worked fine for loading my files, but when I was looking at the list of files it went blank, and I wasn't able to get the computer to read it again. Spoke to Amazon tech support but there was no fix, and I had to erase my files, return it, and start over.

When I was shopping for a backup HDD, this one was ten dollars more than the average. However it has a mil-spec case that will take some abuse.
Since this drive travels with me, the extra cost was worth the improved durability value. It's a little bit larger than similar non-rugged drives, however.

I bought this product specificly to watch movies from it on TV. First somethimes it doesnt want to mount, next problem after aprox half playback it frezes the TV and you cannot do anything until you unplug the hard drive. This was teated with diffrent TVs and with diffrent content. I'm just dissapointed and sendin it back.

I bought two of these things to back up my laptops. I had to reformat one of them due to failure during a file transfer and I had to reformat the other one twice. Redundancy is no protection if both units fail.

This is a great HD. This is the second one one of these I bought. The first was 1tb and this one is 2tb. I have had the first one for a couple years or more and it works perfect. Now I have a full back up of it.

I'm sadI lost the little rubber things that kept the cord in place so I wish that design was abit different. Aside from some computers not having 3.0 usb to read my drive, It holds what I need well. Doesn't overheat, and I still have alot of space. I initially used it for my 3D animation class, and then some smaller poowerpoints for other classes because I don't have a small usb flash drive. It's not heavy and it feels solid and the green rubber part makes opening it on accident very preventable and minimizes water or dust getting in.

Bad design for USB cable storage. The little clips come off and get lost. I use a rubber band. I have another model that’s orange and black with a great storage. I use it for person and this one for business. I didn’t want to get them confused.

Device is great and sturdy( at least it looks like). Though there cable holder is not very well designed, it pops off by itself.
Rest is all good( no complains after use of almost a month). support of usb 3.0 is great to do files transfers.

No setup required. Plugged it in and it worked. Had to transfer all my files from an old PC and then access them from a Mac. No problem. Doesn’t need extra power cables or any accessories. Cute design, too. It even has a holder for its own little USB cord, so you don’t have to hunt one down each time.
Can’t vouch for tech support, because I haven’t needed any!

I use this for PS4 game storage. It works great and holds a lot of games. Note that it has to be formatted for digital media (screenshots, videos, etc) OR game storage, it cannot do both simultaneously. Easy to use and very sturdy, especially for the price.. Would highly recommend

I have multiple portable harddrives I use on multiple PC's and game consoles and this one stands with the best of them. Can't beat the price because this is a quality product. I did not rate tech support because I did not need them. Recommended.

This product surpassed what I was expecting on all levels. It is small enough. Stylishly green n' black (with internal red light to show activity). My biggest concern WAS, but the I know the product IS, stand alone (does not require AC/DC power adapter, only USB :-) ). Not loosing the adapter to my HD (like I did for my previous Webbie HD) makes the product a lot longer lasting. It functions very similar to any other USB HDs of this RPM(?) (I suspect).

Never Owned a Worse Drive
First it was slow. Then an entire 4TB folder disappeared. Then repairs using 3 different apps failed. Then the drive wouldn't mount anymore. This was inside of an hour just a week after purchase. Keep backups, people.

Did not transfer in date order, or in any particular order
I transfered over 40 gig of pictures and videos, the recorded first few years of each of my children lives, and when i tried to access the files transferred I found they were in no order whatsoever, and not only that, but the files no longer had dates attached like the way they had been stored on my computer. I am devastated. and angry. what a waste of my time and money as now i am not able to easily reproduce any of the photos and videos as I had planned. So frustrating.

I got this to store my photos, movies, etc. as I was out of room on my other 2 drives and wanted to organize everything for ease of finding things. I copied 22 GB of pictures (jpgs & tiff) to this, for a total of 4299 pictures. It took about 20 minutes to copy the 22 GB.
So then I try to copy a movie over and --- no go. The thing refuses all my movies. I'm getting an error "The File is too large for the destination file system". There's 3.6 TB of free space on the drive but it won't take even one video! So I check and, yup, it's formatted as FAT32 which means no file larger the 2 GB can be stored on the drive. I won't be able to store any videos unless I reformat this drive. What a waste of time. I'm going to have to move my pictures off so I don't chance loosing any data, then reformat the drive.
I don't understand why they're using FAT32 for a storage device.
BEWARE if you're planning on storing any file over 2 GB. You'll have to jump through the hoops before you can use this. Just what I didn't want to do.

Better than ordered
Company is shipping newer units with USB 3.1 Gen 1 - an upgrade over USB 3.0 that is listed as a feature of this model. Nice surprise when I received my drive in the mail today. The small plastic clips that hold the USB cable to the drive case are removable (from both the cable and the case) thus I'm sure they will be lost shortly. So far, that's my only complaint.

Great sturdy external drive for PS4, phones or what ever you could use it for.
This thing is amazing! My sons finally ran out of storage on the PS4 and this made it so they can still play and add games. Since it’s external and portable makes it even better when they want to stay overnight or just to play games at friends houses, now they can take their fav games with them. I like the fact it’s water resistant and protects from drops as well so I know it will be safe with the boys taking along with them. Will most definitely order another, my hubby and I want to get one to transfer phone data to so we don’t keep running out of cloud storage.

Stopped working within 1 month
I purchased this hard drive as a back up to my 3TB drive that is about full. I formatted the drive and then after the first use the drive never worked again. My computers don't even recognize the drive. I contacted customer service at the company. They asked me a few question and then told me that I need a new drive and that I should take it back to where I purchased it as it would be easier and more convenient. I kindly told them that my return window is not longer open but this should be covered under the company warranty. I really wanted to like this hard drive but its been nothing but a headache and I don't think I would trust this drive even if a new one is sent. This in not worth the hassle.
Edited to add:
The company got back to me and the only way they will replace my drive that is under warranty is if I pay the shipping to send it to them. I am not going to invest one more dollar into this drive that doesn’t work just so they can send me another drive I already don’t trust! Unbelievable.
