Rockband takes up a lot of space. With my 60gb launch PS3, it took up all the space. I installed this one as an upgrade, it was easy to install and runs smoothly and fast on system. It even came a little screwdriver that I didn't find until I was done and cleaning up. In an often usedPS3, it's not loud, doesn't vibrate and doesn't lag.

I purchased one of these to replace my laptop hard disk. Everything was working fine for about 5 days, and then the disk failed - badly. There were many failed sectors which could not be remapped, and eventually the disk couldn't be read at all.Amazon set up an exchange for me I got a second disk. This process was really quite nice because they shipped me the replacement disk before receiving the failed one, and they shipped it next day (the original shipping method I had selected).The replacement disk lasted for 5 days also before failing. At this point I gave up on the seagate momentus, and returned it for good. It is possible, but unlikely, that I just happened to get two bad disks in a row. I would suggest looking to another drive for your storage needs for the time being.

Let's face it, the hard drive shortage may last through 2012. But this big drive is fast and reasonably priced, was shipped in good packaging and arrived on time

I never had a lot of problem with seagate hdds. Of course, they do fail in 4~5 years. But, this one failed in 2 months. And I gave it a one more try, then it failed again in 2 months. Ok, I'll get a warranty replace. Let's see how it goes.

I bought this to replace the 250GB drive in my mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13". I haven't noticed much different, except for a lot more storage. The drive is quiet, cool, and fast (not dramatically different). It was pretty easy to replace. The hardest part is taking off the bottom cover of the mac. You just need the right size torx screwdriver to remove the drive. Then restore from a time machine backup. This is my first time replacing a drive on a mac (have done on a Windows PC prior). I was impressed at how well the restore from time machine worked. I'm also happy that I didn't pay Apple's inflated priced to get a 500GB drive at purchase time, when I got this 750GB drive for cheaper.

Seagate is a great! But I am having issues with system crashing after the install. I used apricorn easy upgrade with it's latest software to clone my 350GB drive to the 750GB drive. Whenever the system logs off, switch user, wake up after sleep mode, it reboots by itself, sometimes cycles booting.

I quickly filled up the HD in my MacBook and needed a bigger one. I did some research and found this one. the reviews were mixed with mostly positive but some negative as well. I decided to go ahead and take the chance. It came quickly, installation was easy as was the data transfer with Super Duper. I have had it for 3 weeks, using it every day, as usual, with no problems. It is quiet, it seems to work faster than the old factory installed drive, and it certainly holds more than enough for me. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase. If I do have failure or problems in the future, I will report back through Amazon reviews. Otherwise, I am very happy with this hd replacement and i would definitely buy another one if I needed one.

I got 2 of these hard drives and have them in an external firewire 800 raid that works both with my Mac OS Lion and Windows 7 setups. I have used them in both raid 1 and raid 0. So far no clicking or other odd problems.

I tried lots of ways to make it work...couldn't get the Macbook to recognize the drive when internally installed. Not sure if it is a comms speed issue (1.5v 3.0 - yes I tried the jumper) or perhaps a power issue or I just got unlucky - the drive worked great in an external usb hookup and was much faster than the WD unit I bought a couple of months ago that I use with time machine.Perhaps it'll work for you - I was very hopeful...

I bought this hard drive for my late 2010 15" Macbook Pro with a 2.4 ghz i5 and 4 gb of ram. The stock apple drive was either failing or needed a clean install, so I decided the extra space was well worth $90 even if the drive was fine. Needless to say, I installed it, which only took 5 minutes, and booted to Lion with no problems. Coming from a 5400 rpm drive, I do at times notice a slight sleep difference with the new 7200 rpm drive. I would highly recommend this drive for any Macbook Pro owner wishing to maximize their capacity.

I loved this product. It transformed my life to a whole a new level, first of all by size, and it is 7200rpm so faster speed. Now also i would like to state the fact that the service that i recieved by the store was awesum. It ensured that i recieved the product. So, hats off to the delivery experience.

I bought four of these drives to use to transfer photos/video while on the road. Within five minutes of turning it on, one of them had already died. Luckily Amazon took it back without any hassle and sent me a new one. However, I'm still weary about using these for important data.

I purchased two of these to replace the OEM pair in my HP Pavilion Notebook last November. They have worked flawlessly. The second drive is used to D/L and store RAW captures (around 13MB each). These are fast drives, even in a 2006 notebook. Buying another from Amazon for my Toshiba.

Great hard drive, Installed it in my MacBook Pro 13" 2010 model. The system is a little snappier now and I have plenty of room to run my installation of Windows 7 now! I have not noticed a decrease in battery life, and the drive is more or less silent, I don't hear it at all.

I bought this drive so that I could upgrade my 2011 MacBook Pro to Lion, while keeping my old installation intact. I Immediately started having read write error issues. After a week the drive just quit. Luckily I hadn't had a chance to trust any irreplaceable data to this thing. I'm not a computer newbie, started working on them in 1979 in graduate school and was a systems analyst for many years. I've had plenty of hard drive failures over he years, but never this quickly. I would avoid this model like the plague.

This has been a quiet and reliable hard drive for the last 8-10 months. Absolutely NO evidence of the noise, vibration or unreliability that some of the reviewers warn of. Must be due to their laptop's characteristics or the few bad 'apples' that every manufacturer (WD included) produces. This has been used both in a laptop in which another issue claimed, and in an external enclosure and performed well -- no heat problem, no noise problem, very good data throughput, no errors or bad sectors. It just does what Seagate says it should. Seems that OEM drives that may be subject to roughness in shipping complications and to blame for some people's problems, so your 'Mileage may vary'. But, this model of drive is no worse than any other brand I have experience with.

I have a HP Pavilion DV4-2140US laptop, running Windows7 Ultimate. This is my main computer. The Seagate ST9320423AS disk drive is original to the laptop which I purchased a year ago. This 320 gig Seagate disk drive is very quite and I guess it's fast and until this last weekend, it did what it was supposed to do.While doing my weekly backup I got a bunch of read errors. I ran CHKDSK and sure enough 21 bad clusters were found. CHKDSK said it moved the data and flagged all 21 bad clusters. Then I went into the BIOS and ran the HDD diagnostic program. Just 10-15 seconds go by and up pops a message stating "Replace Hard Drive One." I posted all this on the HP Notebook forum. They said the Seagate disk drive is bad and I need to replace it as soon as I can.So, while looking for a new disk drive on-line, I find a lot of people reporting Seagate drives are not as reliable as some other manufactures with bad clusters being a top Seagate problem. My previous laptop had a Western Digital disk drive. The disk drive was still going after 4 years - so I'll try another Western Digital disk drive. I'm buying a Western Digital 320gig Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT.

Easy install and runs cool with my MacBook Pro 15 model 8,2 (2011)There was one episode where it ran very hot for a few hours but I guess it was going through some sort of self check or diagnostics or something - I was also in a very hot (no a/c) atmosphere when it happened. But it got through that process and now there's virtually no heat at all... identical performance as the original drive 500GB I replaced.Very good price for what you get - 750GB - amazing.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I've only had the drive for a few weeks but it is super quite and it seems the battery in my MacBook Pro last a little longer as compared to the original 320 GB 7200 RPM drive. Its really nice having more than double the space. I used time machine to restore my files and the whole install and restore only took about 3 hours (mostly due to the restore). So far, this is great drive and I would recommend it to anyone. I hope I feel this way for a long time, but only time will tell.

I needed a hard disk for my Sony Vaio laptop as I was getting cyclic redundancy check failures. I wanted a 1 TB hard disk (after all, I am spending the bucks, why not go for the trophy capacity) - but soon realized after some research that all 1 TB 2.5" hard disks in the market now are little thicker (taller) than most laptops have space for. Unless yours is a new laptop that can take a 12.5 mm thick hard disk, you have to stick to the standard 9.5 thick ones - which means you cannot get 1 TB, at least now. I am sure 6 months down the line, WD or Seagate or Samsung's gonna come up with a regular sized 1 TB disk. Anyway, I downgraded my capacity wish to 750 GB, and after some research, zeroed in on this one - reading some good favorable reviews on newegg and tigerdirect. I went with Amazon because of Amazon's great return policy (it is a hard disk to be shipped on a truck after all). Fit perfectly. Lots of space now, don't know what to do with it actually! Unless this one dies on me before its average life expectancy is over, I am going to stick to this 5 star review!
