I have been running two of these in a raid in my hot laptop for over a year with daily use and have had no problems. The RAID is fast, big and cheap. These drives have out performed anything I've had on a laptop in the past with the exception of SSD for speed, but you trade a little of that for workstation class size and performance in a notebook at a very reasonable cost.

Ok this is a hard drive, hardly an exciting item to review. Having said that, compared to the drive it replaced it is whisper quiet, at first I thought it wasn't even working. Seriously, in the dead of night no noise at all. It also writes much faster than my previous drive and has copius amounts of storage space. Furthermore, as this drive rests directly under my left palm I can say it runs far cooler than its predecessor. From my experience this is a fantastic replacement drive. If you want something faster I would go with a hybrid.

I was able to transfer all my data and programs and the transition was smooth. Now I have a drive that will last a long time before I can fill it up.

Bought these to replace two HGST drives in my RAID capable Dell laptop. No problem so far (less than a month) but longevity is the key. A RAID 1 array is a good level of protection but don't let it be the only one.

Bought this after a crash on my HP DV7. Amazing.Speed, noise. Took me a bit to install as got the no drive error while installing Windows. Ran PartedMagic to create partitions and hoppaaaah. It works like a charm.Have been using mainly Seagate for my external drives and will not ever take another brand.

I got this for my laptop about 9 months ago, I desperately needed space.Pros: 7200 rpm is fast, lots of space, smallCons: difficult to install (had to buy a caddy seperately in order to fit the hard drive in my laptop)

My laptop hdd was giving me the Click-of-Death. I opted for this one because of the solid reviews. So I put this one in and my laptop is a little speedier thanks to the 7200 rpm. Right now, I'm triple-booting Linux Mint, Win7, and Win8. No issues. A worthwhile investment.

What is there to say! Other then it's a hard drive at 7200rpm over all my 5400rpm and no noticeable difference for transfer rate. I have the latest laptop with two 2.5" drive bays. I used the new 7200rpm and never seen a differences in speed over my 5400rpm. I am running an i7 3rd generation Intel chip with 8GB ram and a Solid State boot drive. Great laptop and I thought I would add this new drive for even more speed... Now the new drive is my backup internal…

The price of this hard drive is great however it's advertised as a 500 GB hard drive, it isn't. It's a 450 GB hard drive. I the hard drive not to have 50 GB used out of the box. Once the OS was loaded onto the drive it was very fact and the price is great.

I used this to replace my 500gb laptop drive that was filling up. It's fast and was easy to put in.One issue to consider. Faster drives take more battery power and this one is no different. Normal drives spin at 5400 rpm but to get more speed they have to spin at 7200 rpm which takes more energy.To me the trade off is well worth the increased battery drain.

I ordered this to breath some life back into a Late 2008 Macbook Pro, and it works very well! I am quite surprised at the performance boost I've received just adding this drive. I'd definitely recommend if you need to add a little extra HP to an older laptop you just don't want to part with yet. For the price versus a full SSD, this is well worth the money!

We bought this to replace the hard drive on our laptop when our data grew a little to big for the old one. It has been working great for several months in our old MacBook. I'll update if we have any problems, but I don't expect any.

Used this harddrive to upgrade an old 40gig ps3..and i must say it is freak'n amazing..alot faster transfer rate and to upgrade my ps3 to 500gig for under 50 bucks...legen...wait for it...dary!!!
