This is a great iron, but if you get a defected one your experience will not be a good one.
My iron was still under warranty I even purchased the extended warranty. It was leaking burning my clothes and then just stopped working. I contacted the warranty company, but it stl fell under the factory warranty. They don't replace it, you have to send in your iron to a repair shop. This is my most recent email to Rowenta. Let's see if I get a response....
12/15/2018 Your iron was defective and now I'm without an iron for an extended period. My experience has not been a good one. It states in the email that I will be receiving an email with a label and instead I received it in the mail. Which is fine just get your facts straight. And then when I emailed you to say I haven't received an email, I didn't get a response back stating its in the mail, no you send me a second label. Again no response.
No update, no confirmation of when you received the iron via UPS. My husband and I work in an office setting and iron clothes every day. Where should I send the dry cleaning bill? Please take into consideration an improvement to your customer service.
Update: I received my iron back after two months and.... it's still presenting with the same issues. I emailed customer service today. Let's see what they have to say.

I bought it because of multiple "good"reviews... now in less than a few months, it started leaking and shut off without warning. The handle is too close to the temperature dial, and When I grabbed it to iron, the setting was constantly getting changed. I've had other models before which is why I went back to this model, but this product didn't even last, and unfortunately I'm out of the "window" to return it by a few days! I'm going with a different model, or at least one that I can actually hold and see if does the same thing.

After the high ratings, glowing comments from some buyers and Rowenta's marketing of the product, we were looking forward to our new Rowenta Focus Xcel iron. While the iron did turn on, after +1 hour of waiting in futility for the sole plate to heat up, we finally accepted the fact we had received a lemon. It's so unfortunate that Rowenta doesn't have better quality control and final check before sending out its product. We'll be quite reluctant to buy another Rowenta because the likelihood we'd receive a lemon on the very first Rowenta product we purchase is statistically very low, unless Rowenta has a significantly higher defect rate than normal.

I don't usually write bad reviews but I'm fed up w Rowenta. Thats the 3rd one I returned. Brand new but leaks water all over the clothes as you iron. You mean to tell me Rowenta can't get this right? 80 bucks. Done w Rowenta

I am a quilter and iron constantly. With that said, I have purchased many irons, tried out many irons at quilt shows until I finally found this one. It is perfect. It gets hot enough, takes out wrinkles perfectly, is a great steamer, is lightweight, turns off automatically after a certain time- heats back up quickly after not being used for awhile. I'm really happy with this iron - b t w I bought another one for my sister in law. I have even by mistake left it plugged in over night with no issues.

This iron heats up in no time and is light to the touch. The steam setting gets out wrinkles easily and the spray works well on the tough wrinkles. Very nice iron.

Received the iron June 14,,,,,used June 26 for the first time. NEVER really heated up. leaked water all over the shirt I was ironing and the BEST part was my husband got an ELECTRICAL SHOCK from the cord. I tried to get in touch with Rowenta several times..........NOTHING. I guess the name of the game is sell a product, BUT won't stand behind it. REALLY ANGRY ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING!!!!!!!!!! YES, we did return it, but I really was expecting Rowenta or SOMEBODY to be in touch

Purchased in April 2019 and in October of 2019 I started to notice it would not stay hot. I would unplug and plug in or turn off and on. So the safety feature feature is working as it will not stay hot. Then weeks later my wife mentioned something is wrong with the iron. If you purchase make sure and purchase the extended warranty.

Definitely not what I was expecting from a Rowenta. Seems very cheap and the steam output isn’t balanced. I plan to return.

Coming from a person that only uses Rowenta irons my mother loves this iron. She is on her second iron, she irons at least 4 times a weeks with plenty of starch. They do last her a while before she replaces them. I'm glad I was able to find her this iron here on amazon at a great price,

I went from a 15 year old B&D to this Cadillac of irons. It heats up completely in 20 seconds flat. It has never once leaked. It puts out tons of steam. I used to leave my B&D on the ironing board face down while I re-adjusted the clothes I was ironing so I didnt loose the steam train, this thing you put it upright, re-adjust and as soon as it hits the board its steaming like a champ. really good iron.

Half of the controls didn’t work. The temperature knob turns to a higher temperature. The steam only works when shaking. Power burst and spray buttons don’t work.
