I'm completely satisfied with this headset - moreso than with any I've owned before. I don't know whether the iPhone 4 assists in the overall performance or not, but it's great. Audio quality followed by manufacture quality (in regards to durability, comfort and fit) are the features which most affects my satisfaction.This is a Bluetooth profile 2.0 device, by the way. I'm quite content with the product. I know my phone supports profile 2.1 but I use this as my work earpiece, so that I'm not tangled up in my chorded stereo headset while I'm trying to get in and out of my seatbelt.It feels durable, though I'm not going to put it through a drop test, if I can help it. What I hear through the headset is clearly audible with good tone. I have had no complaints from the other end about being heard, so that's wonderful.Plantronics' signature tones make ease of use standard fare; ascending on, descending off, high-pitch, low-pitch...all are fitting to their assignments. The voice-dial feature works fine. It can be paired to two devices, though I'm unsure if I would - maybe I'll try with my PS3 that I never use. It supports calling the previously dialed number. If I choose to, I can send a call over to voice mail through the device as well. It's got all the amenities.The power cord can be optionally placed in an included little charging dock. It was a fight fitting the double wire into the single wire pass-through, but I managed. When everything is properly put together, the charging dock works nicely and also keeps the headset's in-ear part up off the desk and in the air, which I tend to find conveniently sanitary.I'm not one to spend a hundred bucks on a couple bucks worth of anything, so for me this is an acceptable value. I've spent more on headsets in the past and then swore never to invest in another, but with work and necessity, here I go again. And it just so happens, I am completely satisfied and I highly recommend this one. I'm very pleased with the Plantronics 520!

I had to replace my original because it flew out of my convertible in the box - what can I say I left it in the open on the seat. Anyway I made sure to buy the same bluetooth not just for myself but for my friend as well. The sound is great and it cuts noise on the side of the listener. I will buy this line every time!

This bluetooth gets the job done. Not loaded with features, but the charge-carry case is a great idea and also gets the job done. Looks great with my Galaxy Note! Since the Galaxy Note does rate a little low when it comes listening quality, the bluetooth sounds better than holding the Note to the head.Overall, I'm happy with the Plantronics Discovery 975!

First of all, I bought this based on the previous reviews compared to most other BT devices in the same price range.Overall, I am really happy with this product after owning it for a week or so. For the price I paid I would say you can't beat it. The only two reasons I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because the comfort & audio quality. The earpiece doesn't quite fit me as nice as I would like and it doesn't come with any different sized pieces so after extended periods of time (30+ minutes) of it being in my ear, it starts to feel uncomfortable. The audio quality just sounds like it's a cheap audio quality. Like if I were to go to the 99cents store and buy a pair of earbuds. On the plus side, you can call hands free via voice dial (make sure to activate your voice recognition setting, it helps a lot) which is a awesome imho. Also it gives you the option to check your battery life depending on how many blinks it does upon your request which is cool because I don't want to have to plug it in every night.Long story short, If you're looking for a inexpensive BT device because the law says you have to wear one now, I would say get this one. You won't be disappointed.

This Bluetooth is the best value for your money.PRO's -* Light weight - Its so light that sometimes I forget that I'm wearing it.* Battery lasts for about 3 days on standby with moderate use.* Easy to make and answer calls as well as adjust the volume while in call.* The ear loop can be swiveled to fit either the left or right ear.* I bought this for $32 and it does a more than adequate job for the price.CON's* Its kind of bulky so it may look too gigantic on the ear of a smaller person.* Hard to hear when its windy - e.g. when driving with the shutters down.* The range is not 33 feet as advertised - I hear static when I'm around 15 feet away from my cellphone.I recommend this product as it is easy to use, inexpensive, light weight and has good battery life.

I have had this for at least 2 years (guessing here). It is fabulous. The battery life has only, in the past month, become noticeably less. Again, only in the past month, the little silicone over-the-ear piece fell out. Super glue fixed that, no problem.I actually bought this at a B&M store, where they let me pair it (and others available at the time) with my phone. I had called my Mom with every single product, and this was, by far, the best.I recently bought what I thought would be a replacement product-- a Blue Ant-- it's complete crap. The BA has this lengthy "connecting now to ur phone...." before I can finally get to the beep via my cell phone that indicates I'm in voice dialing mode. That's $35 down the toilet.Now, the Voyager 520 is very very simple. You do a quick double click on the button, and you very quickly get the beep activating your phone's voice dialing. Simple, doesn't waste your time, and isn't annoying.I decided to purchase this product again, rather than the newer model, is because of a review I read on Cnet.com. Plantronics has incorporated some new technology called Vocalyst.. read more here. Sounds terrible to me!<...>Anyway, I very highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a high quality, reliable, and long lasting bluetooth!!

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the description of the headset or in any of the reviews, but the Discovery 975 does NOT support A2DP (media audio streaming). I'm sure the headset is great for phone calls, but I use my phone for a lot more than just talking on the phone, and I can't understand why any modern Bluetooth headset would not support streaming media audio (music, videos, audio books, etc). I really wanted to like/love this headset. It's a great looking headset and felt good in my ear, but unfortunately this one is going back because my headset has to be able to support A2DP.

Plantronics Voyager 835 Bluetooth HeadsetThis headset is just what I wanted! It has a volume control and the voice is very clear. No problem with understanding the caller. Very comfortable fit on my ear. So comfortable I forget I have it on.

(Make sure to read the update I've added below.)I've had very little experience with Bluetooth devices in general, and even less with earpieces like this one. However, I'm fairly impressed with this little unit.Call quality is good; the person on the other end comes through clearly, and I'm told my voice does, too. I'm not sure if it's my phone or the unit, but I do end up hearing static every now and then - pops and crackles in the audio. Knowing my phone and how terrible it is, I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the ear piece itself.This device is really only usable as a call piece - it doesn't seem to support the A2DP profile, so it's impossible to listen to music, system sounds, YouTube clips, etc. from your phone. Interestingly enough, it pairs fine with my laptop and plays all audio through that, but the quality is absolutely terrible. I have feeling I need to experiment with the device a bit more.Overall, I would say the device is great for calls - it's designed purpose. It doesn't seem useful for anything beyond that, which is fine. Just don't expect it to do more than its advertised to. =)December 2012 Update:Avoid this item. The BlueAnt Q2 can be found on Amazon for less than $10 more, and is leaps and bounds better than the Plantronics Voyager 520. It pairs easily with devices, but the audio quality on both sides is actually quite sub-par, now that I've had some more experience with other devices. The microphone pics up wind and background noise with reckless abandon, and the volume doesn't go quite as high as it should. It's also not terribly comfortable to wear.The charger is some proprietary thing that requires you to pick up the base and snap the earpiece into it. It also has no weight to it, so it easily disappears over the side of the table just under the weight of its own cord.Overall, there are definitely worse units out there, but there's no real reason to go with this one.

Brought this Product, with great expectations from Plantronics.Have a bluetooth in office, which works great.But failed on day 1.Unpacked the contents, nice packing, liked the stand very much, was a quick install, and charged it for few hours. was ready to go.Made my first call on the road, tested with Skype, seemed like there was no noise cancellation on the road. Since it was windy, thought let me try inside my house and office.Here was the problem, there was a constant hissing noise in the background. Tried it with different numbers, and was the same.Called Amazon, and spoke to the customer Rep., even he was having the same Bee'ing Noise along with me.Finally decided to call the shots and returned it back.Pros,Works with any two way conference, like Skype or yahoo or phone call.Easy to install.Cons,Constant beeing sound on both side.No noise cancellation really.Does not work with music on iPhone.

I received the headset on time let it charge for 2 hours. the light went out when it was done charging. it took 30 seconds literally to pair it with my phone. i have the moto electrify. i called my mom and the first thing she said was you sound so clear. i was so happy that the quality is better then talking into the phone. i explained to her it was a bluetooth. i never write reviews but i am so impressed with this product i felt it necessary. i also like that it fits perfect left or right side. i couldnt even tell it was on after a few minutes. nice piece of technology.

Said it was new but it's used and broke.. Can't even come on.. And dont charge because the charger hole dosent have the plugin 4 it..

This is the second of this model that I have purchased, thinking the problem with the first one was just a fluke. Worked great at first but then on a full charge, the headset will start beeping to indicate a low battery within 15 - 18 minutes. Tried charger from old unit, just in case, but no improvement. I was very pleased with my old headset that was another Plantronics model (until I stepped on it) and I wanted to save some money so I tried this one. I guess you get what you pay for. Cheap price, poor quality. Returning to sender and will shell out the dough for the model I had previously.

The Plantronic 975 is a sexy little thing, with excellent call quality and a clever recharging case. There's a trade-off here, though, between size and ergonomics - you can't get this skinny without losing some ease-of-use.WHAT'S TO LOVE :Call Quality: While I still don't think the call quality is on a level with a regular cordless phone or with the corded headset that comes with some cell phones (including my iPhone) this is about as good as it gets for Bluetooth, at least in my experience. Certainly much better than the last generation Jawbone I had. Callers are easy to hear and they report that my voice sounds good, too, with a bit of an echo.Recharging Case: This is a great idea. Plantronic's includes with this model a case that holds its own battery. Put the headset in the case, charge them together, and you're good to go for at least day, even if you're a heavy user. If your headset starts to run down during the day - and the 975 lets you know in a polite voice when you're close to the end of your charge, just throw it back in the case for a bit. You don't have to worry about finding an outlet, because the case's built in battery handles the recharging on its own. Sweet. And smart. BTW: The charging case even has LCDs which indicate the remaining charge on both the BT and the charger's battery. Useful to the max.Sexiness: Form is a matter of taste, but, like most others here, I find this to be an unobtrusively elegant headset. I don't think there's any way you can walk around with a BT headset in your ear all day without looking like a dork, but at least you'll look like a dork who appreciates good design.Compatibility with the iPhone 3GS and 3G: The 975 paired with my iPhone easily. Better yet, with the iPhone's 3.1 update, I can now run the Voice Command function from my 975. Just hold the Call button on the 975 down for a second or two, and you'll hear the Voice Command tone. Speak your command into the headset "Call Joe Smith Home," and you'll hear your request repeated back through the BT and your call will be placed. Nice. Sidenote: You can make other voice commands through the 975, and they'll work, but not like you'd think. If you tell the iPhone to play an artist, the music will start playing, but through the iPhone's speaker, not into the 975.WHAT'S TO LEAVE:Ergonomics: To get the 975 so small, I guess the designers had to leave of something. Thus, you get one volume button which has to be cycled through; an infinitely less useful design than separate up and down volume keys. LIkewise, the main control button, which is in the center of the earpiece, sit so flush to the unit that its hard to press. As a consequence, you have to push it really hard. SInce your ear's on the other side, it can be a painful experience.Call Quality: I know I listed this as my first thing "to love," but it reminds me of the Jack Benny's response when you'd ask him "how's your wife" - "Compared to who?"Yes, compared to other BT sets, I think the 975's sound is superior. This has also been the finding of major reviewer sites, like CNET. But it's still inferior to wired sound. Given the laws of physics, I suppose that will be always be the case, but it's best to approach these things with limited expectations.CONCLUSION: All in all, this is about as good as BT gets in terms of call quality. The recharging case is a great idea and the style of the 975 is elegantly understated. But I do struggle with the small and hard-to-press buttons. The 975 is probably state-of-the-art at the moment, but its not perfect.

I bought this on strength of reviews and was very disappointing. It charged quickly and paired up fine but that was where the Pro's ended.The ear-tip is extremely uncomfortable. It has an angle to it that makes it sit weird in your ear. It hurt after just a few minutes. The plastic loop felt nice on top of my ear but it is so far forward paired with the angle of the ear-tip, you can't get the sound directed into your ear.The sound was ok if you were in close proximity to you phone. But get more then 3 or 4 feet and it starts crackling. Get more than 10 feet away and it looses signal completely and disconnects.The sound also didn't go high enough for my taste. I am a bit hard of hearing and need a unit that is a bit louder.

The Plantronics Discovery 975 builds on the popular Discovery 925 model using a similar modern minimalist design while incorporating upgrades. Like the Discovery 925, this Bluetooth headset offers AudioIQ, but the 975 utilizes dual mics and includes WindSmart to block wind noise. Plus the addition of an LCD screen on the leather rechargeable carrying case indicates how much charge remains as well as the charge of the headset when inserted.Having previously owned and used a Discovery 925, the design and operations were familiar. Nothing changed in how I use the headset besides knowing how much charge I had to work with. This has eliminated the few times I ran out of charge with the previous model. Running out of charge isn't a problem for me though as I can regularly go a couple days without needing to recharge.Even though the second generation AudioIQ works reasonably well, the WindSmart technology fails to protect against wind noise in moderately windy conditions. Additionally the headset and case are cheaply constructed. The headset has chipped excessively around the side edges of the main outward facing side of the square section. Plus the clip on the carrying case broke within the first few days of use. The cheap construction doesn't affect the headset's use, but the it appears to have been well worn or abused.The supposed 33 foot range between the cell phone and the headset is non-existent. If I set the cell phone on the counter and go do something on the other side of our average sized kitchen, I get static. I wrote to Plantronics regarding this situation and I was recommended to keep the line of sight unobstructed with "never wear the phone and headset on opposite sides of your body" as an example. Is this really their explanation? The Discovery 975 will have trouble communicating if my headset is on the right and the cell is on the left side of my body? According to the Bluetooth website, "Bluetooth wireless technology is able to penetrate solid objects" and "Bluetooth technology is omni-directional and does not require line-of-sight positioning." Plus, I've never experienced this kind of short range with any of my previous Bluetooth headsets including the Jabra Stone I currently use.For the most part, the Plantronics Discovery 975 is a good headset with long talk time. However the excessively short range and poor construction makes this the worst headset I've ever used. I regret purchasing this headset and prefer using the Jabra Stone with its short talk time instead. I'm in a long-distance relationship, so I talk to my boyfriend for an hour every night. I use a headset so that I can multi-task when I talk. Also, I usually have my phone plugged into the charger while I talk. here's a typical conversation:Him: Hi honey....CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLEMe: what did you say? CRACKLE CRACKLEHim: CRACKLE CRACKLE just seeing how your day was CRACKLE CRACKLEMe: CRACKLE hold on, i'm switching to my old headset CRACKLE CRACKLEAnd then I do. The crackling doesn't make it hard for me to hear the conversation, it just sounds like he's typing furiously the whole time we're talking. So it's more of a distraction and annoyance than an impeding noise for me. He notices it on his end, but it doesn't bother him. I've noticed it's worse the further I am away from the phone, so it's best when it's in my pocket on the same side that I have the earpiece in. Unfortunately, I'm usually in PJs with no pockets when I'm talking. And trying to put away dishes or do laundry with a phone in your hand is just as annoying than holding the phone between your head and neck. And using the bluetooth in the kitchen while leaving the phone on the charger in the bedroom is almost impossible to hear through.It's not the worst product in the world, I just don't think it was worth the money for me. I don't recommend this product for the cost. My cheap-o Samsung ($30, from cell phone store) works better since all I do is make calls from inside my apartment anyway.

I have another brand bluetooth headset laying around my house somewhere. Never cared for it since it did not sit securely in my ear and I always had to be holding tight against my ear so I could hear. I gave up on bluetooth headsets after that experience. I went back to my old faithful, the corded headset. Well I can finally said goodbye to my corded headset. The Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset has been able to offer a lightweight, comfy fitting and sleek looking bluetooth headset that fits snugly in my ear. There is also no annoying blinking bright blue light flashing constantly when in use. For lights it has just a very thin line that white flashes telling you it is connected or on a call. Red when it is being turned off or placed in the charging case. It will flash pink if you a missed call. The lights are dim and do NOT say "hey look at my bluetooth in my ear".Pairing was so easy. Push multifunction button until it blinks red and white then add device according to your cellphone instructions. It was that easy. No need to input a password (but one is given in the instruction book if your phone ask for one). Comes with 3 different sized ear gels that have a unique oblong square design that allows it to sit securely in your ear so you don't have to worry about having it drop down or fall out. Sound quality is superb. Callers can hear me clearly and I can hear them with no problems even with background noises.The carrying/travel/charging case is a great concept. No need to take your power plug and wonder where you will be able to plug it in when you are on the road. I have been using the headset on and off for over a week now and I have not had to charge either the headset or the case - so battery life is great! I store the headset when I am not using in the charging case. The headset sits securely into the case, but make sure that you see it blink red to verify that the unit is connected correctly. The LCD screen is easy to read to see how much of a charge is left on both the headset and case. Charging via the AC plug is quick too, it only 90 minutes to fully charge both the headset and case when I first charged them.Bluetooth range is excellent. I can walk away from my phone to another room and still be able to hear and talk without the conversation breaking up.The multifunction button is located on the boom bar. I wish it would stick out just a little further to make it easier to find, also sometimes I have to push really hard to activate it. The volume button is tiny as well, but I don't find myself adjusting the volume much since the sound quality is so great. Would be nice if it came with another type of charger - USB or car adapter. It would much easier to charge and store it in my vehicle where I use it the most. I am hoping to see if someone mentions if the Plantronics discovery 925 accessories will work with the 975 model since Amazon does offer a variety of options for the 925.In general, this is great headset that I highly recommend.UPDATE: I wanted to mention that out of no where the bluetooth was not functioning correctly and all I could hear was beeps. I contacted Plantronics support who instructed me to turn off my cell phone and remove the battery for 30 seconds. Once the phone was powered back up everything was working again. The representative I spoke with was very helpful and they called me immediately after making my online request for support . Hats off to the great customer service Plantronics offers.

I've gone through at least four bluetooth headsets in the past six weeks.After studying all of the reviews, I decided on this Plantronics model. I am glad I did.The first advantage of this model is the means it uses to stay on your ear. The other models I tried relied on ear clips (two of which broke because I have to remove and replace the headset often during the day). This unit uses a small loop which naturally fits in the contours of your ear canal opening and affixes itself. You don't have to jam this in your ear to get it to stay in your ear . . . you don't have to worry about clips breaking from constant use. The earpiece is soft gel and comfortable, while the loop lightly grips the contours of the external portion of your ear canal.The greatest advantage to this form of affixing the headset to your ear is that it does not displace when you work your jaw to talk. The other models I had, from other manufacturers, would either work loose, misalign so that the mike wouldn't pick up my voice, or just plain fall out of my ear. I never knew when any of the above would happen, and, was often dependant on clients having to tell me that they couldn't hear me before I was aware that the mike had gone out of alignment from my jaw moving during speach.The second advantage of this model is the "IQ" audio technology. Someone did a lot of research (hence the "R" designation) before designing the chip that drives this model's sound attenuation features. It can detect the difference between your natural voice, an electronically re-produced voice in the background, wind, etc., and, it appropriately attenuates the mike to exclude most of the background noise that might otherwise occlude your voice. My voice come across clearly, and, I receive the audio from my iPhone with crystal clarity and with abundant volume.The third advantage of this model is its appearance. I have to admit that I have distasteful visions of other people walking around with what looks like a "wall wart" stuck to their head. Although this design is still conspicuous on your person, it has some elan and it is easier for people to recognize it as a headset, and, not focus on it as an attention point in your appearance.The case charges instead of the headset, so, if you charge up the case, and, keep it in your briefcase or purse or pocket, you can re-charge the headset, in a "pinch", just by replacing it in the case for awhile to draw a charge from the case.All in all, Plantronics did some consumer research and studied the needs of consumers before designing and marketing this model. They get four stars from me just for the effort, and, a full five stars because this model does what you expect it to do all the way around.

After reading so many great reviews, I thought this bluetooth was just what I was looking for, without spending too much money. I couldn't have been more wrong. Nothing on this gadget works properly. There is no filtering of background noise, if anything, it amplifies the background sound. The charger is a pain in the neck to put together, and why it isn't already done is beyond me. Not to mention it is flimsy and every time I use it I am afraid it will fall apart in my hands. Making calls is a nightmare. Wether or not I am making a call from my cell phone, a redial, or voice command, it only works about one third of the time. It won't disconnect calls and won't shut off. When I am talking to someone they are always breaking up even though that never happens when I use just my phone. The battery doesn't last as long as it is suppose to. And they fail to mention two important things in the directions. Although you can adjust the volume minutely from the bluetooth, the real volume control still remains on the phone. Also, they don't mention that to finish off pairing the phone and boothtooth, you must click on the bluetooth on the phone, even after you are told the pairing is complete. I found this out online when I couldn't get the pairing to work, and thought I might be doing something wrong. Lest you think I just got a bad one, I bought another for my husband at the same time, and his is just as bad. The only good thing I can say is that it is quite comfortable to wear, as long as you loop it around the front of your ear, and not the back. There isn't one thing on this bluetooth that works properly, don't waste your money.

Its a great blue tooth. I use it for my ps3. The only thing I wish it had was, a mute button. I click the control button once and it doesn't turn off, but it disconnects. Then I have to go into the audio settings on the ps3 and re-connect it. It doesn't do it on its own like most headsets.
