This went into a 07 4Runner. It ran from the in dash screen to the glove compartment. The cord was too short for a passenger to use the phone while it was connected to the interface.
It does work as described and it actually even allowed us to use Waze (GPS app) with the screen. The maps and voice guided navigation all came through the screen. That saves a lot of money from having to buy the GPS add on for the unit.
I'm just curious if there will be an adapter for the IPhone 5 or if you will have to buy a new cord.

I ran this to my center arm rest VW Golf. Cable is bulky but I only take out the phone to send text. You will not need it for anything else because the radio will take over....

This is a great cord. It works really well if installed correctly. I like the length of the cord. I would recommend that you lay the cord out and allow it to relax some before you install.

It's long enuf to reach any where you won't it up front it's made really good shouldn't break easy it's a must have for the head unit so get this one !!

It does what its suppose to.It does say its the eoupean model, but it's the same. Also it was cheaper then other places.

I bought this item and noticed that it connected to the USB and aux port (headphone jack) on the back of the unit. Because of this, I wondered if a standard iPod USB cable (the same one that comes with the iPod) and a standard male to male headphone jack would work. Lo and behold, it worked just fine.
Keep in mind that both the iPod USB cable and the male to male headphone audio cable can be had for less than $0.99 each here on amazon.
I had ordered the item thinking that Pioneer had a proprietary connection on the back of the unit when I should have just looked at the picture.
The cable itself is high quality, strung together, and has a cover for the iPod connector. So, it's not a 'bad' product at all, however it's completely unnecessary to spend this much when the same thing can be accomplished for a fraction of the cost.
If you are not concerned about how fancy the connector looks, save your money.

If your car stereo offers choice of using CDIU201S (for example my pioneer avh-p8400bh) use it. This cable is completely digital both connectors that interface with your headunit will maximize the digital capabilities to your ipod. Well worth the extra 10 bucks.
Yes you will still need to add a USB male to USB female cable(aka usb extension cable), approx 4ft to get the lengths to match.
The other option for my car was cdiu201v which has a video plug that looks like a headphone plug, so NOT completely digital.

i go this hooked up to my pioneert 8400 and i can watch videos and my music comes thru fast. just one thing thats not so good is that the cord is short like 11 inchs

Bought for my son who has taken an interest in Records, had the deck but not an amp, this is a very sturdy product and my son is very fussy so if he is happy it must be good.

This cable does exactly what they say it does, but it's kind of expensive. You would hope that Pioneer would have included this with the the radios that would need to use it rather than just a generic USB cable, like they include with the AVH-P8400BH.

It works well, I just don't understand why the head unit cannot show video through the USB connection alone since I uploaded the videos to the iPod with only a USB cable. Can you say more dollars??

The cable works fine but the length is a little short to reach from my glovebox. I only needed 1 cable for my 2500bt Pioneer unit.

The one thing it has to do.... Stay in the iPhone or iPod. The cable won't even stay connected!! Verrrrry disappointed.

I installed this cable (CD-IU201V) with an AVH-P4400BH in my 2002 explorer the head unit works but the cable will only show video and not audio when hooked up to an iphone i would not recommend this product
