It would be great if the cord were super flexible, but that isn't possible with that many wires inside. The cable is outrageously priced, but the price of the digital music player that plugs into its end is a whole lot more outrageous - you want a bite of the apple, you pay for it. I love my Touch, and apparently it was worth $400 to me, so the price for this cable? Ha, no comparison, gang. We're paying for the technology - I don't know what the amount is, but make no mistake that Apple is charging Pioneer a pretty penny for the privilege of offering us a car stereo that can plug in to Apple equipment, and Pioneer is simply passing that on to us.
The cable I used with my previous stereo had to be replaced three times over the course of two years, at $30 per time (ok I got ticked off and got a cheaper one last go-round). So far I have a much better opinion of this one. A couple of reviewers commented on having difficulty attaching this one to the player; I haven't experienced that - it clicks in with minimal effort and disconnects just as easily. The ear hooks are making positive contact, and the connector is much easier for me to line up than my previous ones.
Personally I have had so much fun with the stereo and the iMusic and the album artwork and tapping and gliding through my library and photos and video over just the last 3 days that it's well worth the purchase price. You bought the player, you bought the stereo, buy the cable and iEnjoy it all.

I was looking for a budget amp which sounded good and didn't need to have massive power output but have functionality and sound quality instead. e.g. plenty of inputs and outputs. Many of the high end products just don't have much functionality. I would consider describing the sound as balanced and musical but not clinical/harsh to my ears.
I usually have the amp set to by-pass the tone controls. in the shop I did try the loudness button and a few times at home. I still prefer listening without the loudness button on - more natural sound without agressive treble or bass. The headphone amp is fine as well as the remote.
I would say that driving my Boston Acoustics A26 speakers when the vol. pot is set to about 10 ' o clock position, sound is very nice and modestly loud. Generally I think the amplifier feels slightly underpowered but this doesn't concern me as I listen at moderate levels and have neighbours to think of.
Still happy with the purchase.

1. Works great, have access to videos and music from my iPod
2. Long cord, reaches from the head unit in the center dash, down the back of the center console, down the hump, and into the armrest console without a problem.
Cons:
1. None really, it costs a bit more than the generic version, but at least this is guaranteed to work
Summary:
I initially bought the generic version of this cord to save a few dollars, and then found that the generic cord didn't work. So I bought the Pioneer brand, and no surprise, it works perfectly well.

Well ,doesn't matter one way or the other as the "authorized" store I bought it from blew me off for tech support and told me to call Pioneer.
Trouble is their tech support line is always busy.
I am ,to say the least,on the very high end of tech support in the IT world, and when I call ,it's usually an issue with the product or lack of info in the manuals.
This product as it sits now is a $400 buck boat anchor.
Screen is too small, lousy documentation, issues with Windows media player and non existent tech support are all pretty good reasons to avoid this overpriced piece of junk.
Look elsewhere.

Looks stylish good quality finish . Controls are smooth and sturdy.

My ONLY gripe about this is that the cable does not lock into my Iphone 4S, it is VERY easy for the cable to fall right out of the phone. I have a friend with the same cable and same phone and his has the SAME issue. Not sure if the locking teeth on the end of the plug are not in the proper place to lock it into the phone or what, but that is my only complaint.

When you need to run wires through a car, it should be very pliable. This wire is very stiff. There is no reason it needs to be such a thick, stiff wire.
When I need to plug my iPhone into this on a daily basis, I should get to use a nice pliable cord that is easy to route to different places of the car. I really can only plug this in at one angle on my center console because the wire is so stiff and wont bend at all.

Highly recommend for Pioneer/Apple users!

I will say that I was disappointed that the USB cable on it is about 1/2 as short as the other cable bundled with it. So I ordered a USB extension. Then when I received my radio, it had the extension included in it. So I wasted about $7 on the other cable, but maybe that was my fault.
The end of the cable is very stiff to the point that it is difficult to maneuver once your phone is attached. I ran mine to my glove box and it works as it should, but if I am using a GPS app on my iPhone your phone has to be positioned up and down so the dvd screen accurately portrays the phone screen...if the phone falls over in your glovebox then the screen will switch and your monitor will show the screen as sideways (think about it like you rotate your iphone in your hands and the screen rotates). So far that has been aggravating. I am going to figure out a way to install the cable somewhere in my car where I can mount my phone right side up all the time.
