Tried to plug this directly into the AUX port on my 2013 Subaru BRZ and nothing was happening. I finally tried to use a headphone jack extension and plugged it back in and it worked. Now that the radio is tuned it sounds great.

I called Pioneer Support after installing this, before installation, my FM showed what channel I was on, 92.5, 94.3, etc. Now all it shows is Preset1, Preset2, etc. when I called Pioneer and asked them how to get the Presets to show the station channel, they said it did not, all it showed was the preset, I asked am I supposed to memorize Preset1 thru Preset18, they had no answer, this really sucks, I should take it out and toss it, then I would atleast know what channel I'm on. The RDS doesn't work either like it did on my FM only.

Worked very well for me using a Pioneer 4300 DVD head unit. The only issue is that you have to disable the bypass if you have one installed, in order to access the auto equalizer option - to do this, supply 12v to the blue wire coming out of the headunit (at least for a 4300DVD).
The hardest part was finding a quiet spot to run the auto EQ function, since I don't have a garage. I definitely noticed the difference in sound quality, this is perfect for those of us that aren't audiophiles and can't be bothered to fine tune every little setting.
Well worth the ~$20!

i wanted to get an aux port installed in my car which would have costed me $275 but my friend told me that in the back of some pioneers theres a cable adaptor and that only costed $10! i've been using it ever since and i love it

This did not work I have a avid system and Sirius and you can't use this to plug in ext. it won't work.

Loved they way this worked but unfortunitly I had to send this product back! I only had one station in my area!! If you live in a big city like New York or Chicago then this would work well for you! Do a Google check in where would be driving the most to see how many stations are avaliable!

So I had to do some modifications to my Double Din head unit because I installed a bypass to be able to play dvd's while driving, mainly music dvds. Anyway the mic works fine, but if you have more than 4 speakers it does not work all that great. I ended up just adjusting the EQ myseld and it sounds better than when I used this for the auto EQ for my head unit.

This a must if you like you EQ done automatically. I don't know how to adjust my EQ to give me the perfect sound so this is a great help and worth the money.

I recently added a Pioneer MVH-8300BT and 4 Alpine speakers to my Mercury Grand Marquis. Wanting to do everything I could to make it right, I found this item on Crutchfield *then* ordered it directly from Amazon for half the price. (Sorry Crutchfield)...
The object of this little device is similar to the Bose system of automatically setting up an equalizer pattern to provide the best sound in any environment. You plug it into your receiver, sit the microphone on your drivers headrest, start the process by following the on-screen directions, then get out and close the door while it does it's thing.
That part is really painless and works very well. A lot of people will even prefer the results to the presets for the EQ in their receiver...
I, on the other hand, found the resulting "AutoEQ" setting to be less than what I wanted. Maybe it was the Alpine speakers, maybe it's the music I listen to, or maybe it's the fact that my ears aren't as young as they once were. Dunno.
I don't regret buying it and I'll probably hold on to it and try it a few more times, but I very much prefer going into the Pioneer receiver, selecting the "Custom EQ" setting and raising both the high, and low ends a little bit over the default settings.
I hate to be wishy-washy, but this might be the only case where I can neither recommend, nor advise against a product. It's easy-to-use enough, and cheap enough that it might just work for your particular hearing or music choice. It just doesn't work for mine.

This is a very cheap looking, and poorly made mic, and I think I received defective one. Ran the auto EQ program, and the resulting sound was terrible. It sounded like the the treble was turned all the way down, and it boosted the bass way up, resulting in a muddy, boomy sound that was impossible to listen to. I've used other brands of car, and home stereos(Alpine and Denon) and the auto EQ function usually improves the sound. I returned it.

Read some good reviews about using this unfortunately it did not work well for me. Microphone looks very cheap and poorly made. Very Dissappointed in this purchace

I originally noted that "the plugs fit, but the stereo would NOT play the music from a satellite receiver. Seemed like the solution to my problem, but it just won't work. I was attempting to play an XM satellite receiver through the stereo."
I was WAY WRONG... the Pioneer stereo we have needed to have the Aux input turned on. It was a pain finding the correct procedure but I finally found it, turned on the Aux function and it still didn't work. I did extensive online searching and found one guy that noted to ensure the blue plug was fully inserted in the stereo. As a long shot, I decided to pull the dash out, check the back of the stereo and sure enough the plug was loose. As soon as I inserted the plug fully I clearly heard Jimmy Buffet on Radio Margaritaville. So, if you get this cord, make sure you push the blue plug in fully. I think I actually felt a "click".

Ran the auto-eq program multiple times with a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH with horrible results every time. I tried various mic positions including Pioneers' recommended position but to no avail. The only bright side to this product is that it was consistent in giving bad results. Amazon return process is easy to use which makes this experience much less painfull.

I used this for an older head unit I bought in 2003 and it worked. You need to configure your head unit to accept aux input before it is functional.

The volume fluctuates even in a metropolis like new york city, where one assumes progressive radio stations will transmit long range HD signals.
It's very annoying to hear great sound for one second and the have the volume lowered automatically while you're driving. I also don't understand why there is only 1 line of scrolling information for thie HD radio tuner, when my AVH-P3200 analog radio shows 3 lines of information. I'm very dissapointed at Pioneer on this one. They should give me a gift card or something for wasting my time and money on this one.
I give it 3 stars because when I do get an HD signal at full strength, it does sound great!

I dont know but I tried usen this mic and all I would get was an error reading that there was a noice problem . I followed Instructions , turned off engine and steped out of truck but it never worked for me.

I bought this device a week ago and still haven't been able to use it. If your trying to hook it up to an AVIC-x940bt and the parking brake has been bypassed, this will not work for you.

The CD-MC20 is probably the best kept secret in the AVIC lineup. If you're not too sure how to equalize your system manually or the preset equalizations' just aren't cutting it for you, then this is your answer. It comes packaged with no instructions so you'll have to revert back to your actual head units manual for specific setup instructions.
Once you find your specific instructions, set up couldn't be any easier. The whole process takes about 6-8 minutes ad must be done in a quiet environment.
When finished, the result is undeniable. You'll be able to toggle the auto equalization setting on and off in real time to hear the difference between your old settings and the new auto ones. It's absolutely incredible the difference you'll hear and the clarity is amazing.
Now if you're an audiophile who knows how to tune your stereo, this probably isn't for you and you may not get much out of it. But for those of you who have no clue, definitely spend the $20. You will not regret it!

great sound may need amplified antenna in some areas worth the price recommend prof install lots of extra good stations
